"Freak!"
"Leave me alone Sesshomaru!" a little girl with bluish-gray eyes and pigtails cried out, trying her hardest to escape from her tormentor. Not paying attention to where she was going, she didn't see the raised tree root in her path until it was too late. "Ow!" crying out softly at her skinned knees. She ignored the pain and tried to push herself off the ground.
The older boy got to her before she could. "Did I say you can get up?" kicking her with his shiny new shoes.
She curled herself up into a ball to protect herself, and held back her tears, refusing to give him the satisfaction of seeing her cry.
"Stop being such a jerk Sesshomaru!" a small voice bravely called out.
"Stay out of this Inuyasha, or I'll beat you too. I need to teach stupid-face a lesson," he replied.
He crossed his arms stubbornly, puffing out his cheeks in anger, and stood in between him and the girl. "No!"
Kagome raised her dirt-smeared cheeks from the floor just in time to see a little boy around her age kicked Sesshomaru in the crotch, causing him to groan and fall to his knees. The expression on his face was priceless.
"Come on!" he yelled, grabbing her hand.
They ran as fast as their little legs could carry them until they both collapsed with exhaustion in front of a large tree at the shrine ground.
Finally catching her breath, she turned to the silver haired boy next to her. "My name is Kagome. Thanks for saving me, and you have pretty hair," she blurted out the first thing that came to her mind.
Blushing a little, "Keh, you talk to much."

He waited for her under their tree, the Goshinbu. She was late again and he was quickly losing his patience. `Damn her, doesn't she know that I have to tell her something important?'
At the sight of her approaching him from a distant, he straightened up immediately and ran his hand through his silver-white hair. His heart thumped loudly in his ears at what he was about to tell Kagome, his best friend since that day he had helped her escape from his half brother. `But what if she's disgusted by the idea of us being together?' he scowled at the thought.
There was something different about her today, she looked unlike her usual cheery self.
"Hey," giving him a hug.
His eyes widened in surprise, thought they were close, he could count the number of times they'd hugged on his hand. He took this as a sign that everything would turn out fine, and all but crushed her to his chest. "Kagome," he sighed, burying his face in her silky long hair. He loved how she always smelled of cherry blossoms.
They sat down on the bench next to the tree. "We need to talk," they both said at the same time.
"No you first," Kagome managed to say before him, giving him a small encouraging smile.
Inuyasha cleared his throat nervously and stared down at his hands, "Umm… Kagome, we've been friends, best friends for a long time," his eyes darted to hers quickly then back to his lap.
She reached over and squeezed his hand lightly, missing the faint blush on his face, "Yea, go on."
"I… I want us to be more than friends," he spitted out the last part of the sentence so rapidly and softly that she wasn't sure if she had heard the right thing.
She leaned over till they were nearly cheek-to-cheek, "I'm sorry, what did you say again?"
Inuyasha let out a frustrated groan. `Is she trying to torture me on purpose?' "I…" he began again when he decided that action spoke louder than words. He wasn't much of a speaker to begin with anyway. Hoping that she wouldn't slap him for this, he turned his head and gave her a firm kiss on the mouth that was over before her mind could even registered what was happening.
She sat stunned, and gently touched her lips, feeling as though she had just fallen off the top of the world. `My first kiss!' "Inuyasha?" she turned just in time to see that he was attempting to walk away rather then stay and talk to her about this. Running after him, "Inuyasha!"
He paused in his step with his back still facing her, his hands clenched into tight fists, "It's okay Kagome. Just pretend it never happened, I won't act weird or anything. I just need some time to think," he began to move again.
"No," she whirled the surprised boy around and pulled him down for another kiss, this one lasting much longer than the first, and growing deeper and deeper by the minute. They finally broke apart due to a need for air.
"Inuyasha… I've waited so long for this," she whispered, nesting her face in his chest.
He smiled, "I was so afraid that you would be disgusted by this."
"Stupid, never… how could I be disgusted. I've had the biggest crush on you for the longest time. I hated seeing other girls at school jump all over you."
"Th-they wanted me?" a bit surprise.
"Yes, just about every girl wanted you, and they all hated me for being close to you."
He pressed his mouth against hers lightly, "Feh, it was the same with you too, I'm always threatening guys for hitting on you. But none of this matter now, we're together and they can't tear us apart."
The smile faded quickly from her face, she stiffened and stepped out of his embrace.
"Kagome, what's wrong?" he gently lifted her chin to the sight of tears gathering in the corners of her eyes.
"I…" she collapsed into his arms.

She was going away, not to another city, but thousands of miles across the sea, to America. That was what she had wanted to tell him before he had revealed his feelings and his heart to her. She didn't even know she was moving until that day, her parents had kept the truth from her.
He didn't regret any of it; only that he didn't have the gut to do it sooner. Even though it was bittersweet, their last week together was one of the happiest he had ever experienced. They had tried to spend as much time as possible with each other, he even snuck over to her room a couple of nights to sleep with her in her bed.
It was hard to keep their kissing and touching from leading to something more. There was nothing like the fact of knowing that they would have to be apart soon that made them want to be as close as two people could possibly get now. But they both agreed that they were too young for this now, no matter how much they loved each other.
~ Flashback ~
"Mmm… Inuyasha," she sighed, relishing in the warm kisses he was placing on her neck, and lightly squeezed his arms.
"Kagome," he found his way back to her lips, his tongue swept inside her mouth, deepening their kiss.
Her eyes suddenly opened in surprise, "Inuyasha?"
His hands paused beneath her breasts. "Yea?"
"What's that?" regarding to the hardness pressed heatedly against her thigh.
He groaned, and rolled off of her so that he was facing the wall. "Sorry," he mumbled, a faint blush appeared on his cheeks. He could feel his manhood twitching in discomfort.
Confused by his behavior, "Inuyasha?" She leaned over and lightly touched his face.
`She can be so fucking naïve sometimes!' He grabbed her hand and placed it on his arousal. "You do this to me," he growled before turning over again, having her hand on him did not help his situation one bit.
Kagome's eyes widened, and felt herself reddened from head to toe at her realization, "I- I'm sorry. I didn't know."
He sighed, and wrapped his arm around her. Placing a kiss on the top of her head, "Don't worry about it." He groaned when he felt her hand touching him, massaging his ache lightly.
"Is it painful?"
He closed his eyes, and regretfully took her hand away. Linking fingers, "I'll live. But you shouldn't do that until you're ready for something more."
"I'm afraid… what if we can't be together when I'm ready?"
He kissed her temple, "Just sleep."
~ End Flashback ~
"Inuyasha," she said softly against his chest, her voice shaking a bit.
`It's time,' he realized with a heavy heart. He glared at the car that was going to take his Kagome away, and held her even more tightly, wishing with all his heart that they could stay like this forever.
"I want you to know that you don't have to wait for me…you're free to be with oth-"
He cut her off with a searing kiss that left her speechless, "Stupid! I don't want anyone else. You're the only one I want."
"I want only you too! I'll write everyday and I'll try to save up for a plane ticket to come see you," she promised him tearfully between kisses.
`I'll wait as long as possible for us to meet again, forever if I have to.'

~ 7 Years Later ~
He stared grimly at the house he used to live in. Since she'd left him, his life had been literally turned upside down. For the first couple of months, she had written to him religiously. Her letters were his saving grace; they made each day without her a little more bearable.
But then the letters that he had looked forward to receiving everyday suddenly stopped coming for no reason at all, and just when he needed her the most. His mom had been killed in a car accident, leaving him to be in the care of his half brother, Sesshomaru.
His new legal guardian was not exactly warm to him, and constantly belittled him for the smallest things, his grades, athletic abilities, and even his choice in friends. Once, he even went as far as telling him that Kagome was trash, that she had probably found someone else to spread her legs for. They had gotten into a huge fight over that, almost ending with a trip to the hospital. Things had become even icier between them afterward.
Inuyasha didn't give up though, he kept writing to her daily. Thinking that her letters were sent to his old address, he had even asked the new residence if they had his letters. He finally stopped writing after not hearing from her for more than two year, not wanting to bother her any longer.
At first, he tried to get over her by dating tons of girls, even a Kagome look-alike named Kikyo. She was one of those country club girls, smart, pretty, and a total snob. Sesshomaru had approved, and even encouraged their relationship. But he quickly came to realize that she was nothing like her, and that he would never want another girl as much as he had… still wanted Kagome. So instead, at his brother's suggestion he began to devote his life to their father's company, turning into a ruthless businessman like Sesshomaru.
"Is that you, Inuyasha?"
He turned to see a familiar looking old man. "Who the fuck are you?"
"It IS you. Remember me? I was your father's most faithful servant, Myouga."
"Oh you, what do you want, old man?"
Glancing around nervously, "Can we talk in some place more private?"
><><><><><><><>< ><
"Sir, what would you like to drink?" the stewardess asked.
"Just water," he replied, and leaned his head back. With a heavy sigh, he reached inside his jacket for the letter he had almost memorized word for word in the last 24 hrs. The paper was yellowed with age and the ink was smeared by both their tears.
Inuyasha,
I don't understand why you had stopped writing to me. Did I do something wrong? Have you found someone new? I tried to call you the other day, but your brother picked up and told me that you never want to speak and hear from me anymore. He wouldn't tell me why, only something about me being no good for you. If what he said was true, that you wish me to be out of your life, then I won't bother you anymore. Just promise me one thing, be happy. No matter what, I want you to know that you'll be in my heart.
Always,
Kagome
He never thought Sesshomaru would go so fucking far to keep them apart, though he knew that Sesshomaru had never liked her, mainly because she wasn't wealthy and had lived on the wrong side of the town, and partly because he was still holding a grudge over what had happened ten years ago. Now, thanks to Myouga, he finally knew that the last seven years of his life had been based on a lie. Kagome hadn't stopped writing to him. The last letter she had sent him was dated four years ago. He clenched his hands, almost crumbling the letter in the process.
Sesshomaru, his bastard of a brother, was the reason why he had stopped hearing from Kagome. Disapproving in their relationship, he had made certain that none of their letters were reaching each other. Now he was on a nonstop flight to America, not even bothering to pack, armed with only his wallet and Kagome's new address that Myouga had given him.
`Would she even want or remember me?' he pondered nervously and stared out the window.
><><><><><><><>< ><
No one was home by the time he finally worked up the courage to ring her doorbell, so he waited like he had so many years ago. He felt even more nervous now than he did when he was trying to reveal his feelings for back before. But even if she did not feel the same way about him anymore, he still wanted her, his best friend, back in his life. `If she remembers me… `
He stood there on her doormat for a long time, staring out into the dark street, just waiting and anticipating. His hope jumped and fell with every car, every flash of headlights. `Kagome… where are you?'
It started to drizzle. At first he tried to ignore it, but the cold rain began to beat down on him brutally, soaking him to the bones. Not wanting to get himself sick or end up looking like a wet dog, he reluctantly got back inside his rental car, and waited patiently for her there.
><><><><><><><>< ><
She scooted as far as possible on her seat away from Kouga, literally her date from hell. He was one of the rudest and most arrogant man she had ever met, and worse his hands seemed to be everywhere at the same time. She bit the inside of her cheeks and watched the little droplets of rain splashing a wild pattern at the window. Her friends often wondered why she agreed to go out with losers like him, when she had so much going for her. She had pondered about that herself. Perhaps it was because she did not want to allow herself the chance to be happy, or let any other man take the place in her heart.
Not a day went by that she didn't think about him, even after all these years. She still didn't know what went wrong with their relationship. They were so happy, and in love. Though they never actually said the words out loud, she could feel it, see it in his eyes. It was not just teenage lust. It was pure feelings that surfaced from deep inside.
She breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of her house. It was still pouring outside but she did not mind, anything was better than being trapped in here with Kouga. As soon as he had shifted his car in to park, she mumbled a quick goodbye and sprinted out of there, braving the darkness and the rain.
Unfortunately for her, he followed, quickly catching up to her before she could open the door and reach the safety of her home.
"Hey bitch," he grabbed her waist painfully and pulled her towards him. Her keys fell to the floor in a loud clatter of metal against concret.
Kagome winced at his bone-crushing grip, and struggled effortlessly to get loose. "Leave me alone, Kouga. The date is over, and I don't ever want to see you again," she told him, at the same time searching for a way to escape. She cursed at herself for being so stupid, for ignoring her instinct that this man was no good. Images of her neighbors, of passerbys finding her body in the morning flashed through her mind.
He sneered, his eyes turning a chilling shade of blue, and pressed her against the door, his hands roaming shamelessly. "You think you can get away with being such a tease and play with my feelings? Well bitch, I'm not leaving." His hand slipped inside her skirt, and pushed inside, trying to arouse her, "Not without a goodnight ki-"
"Kiss this," a voice behind him growled, and he was suddenly thrown to the ground. Before he could push himself up, his attacker picked him up and punched him repeatedly in the face. "Touch Kagome again, and you're dead!" he warned and finally released him. Never one to stay and fight, Kouga quickly fled the scene.
His eyes soften as he turned to the girl sobbing quietly on the floor, her face buried in her knees, shaking and shivering. He cursed at himself for falling asleep in the car, and not coming to her rescue sooner. Crouching down so that he was at her eye level, he stroked her damp hair, allowing himself to touch her for the first time in year. "Kagome," he said softly.
Her sob turned into the sound of a strangled gasp. `It can't be,' she told herself over and over again, before finally daring to look up into the eyes of the man who had just rescued her. Blinking in disbelief, "Inu… yasha?"

"Here." She set a cup of ramen and a fork in front of him, before taking a seat across the dinner table. "You must be hungry. I remember how much you loved to eat ramen," tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, her eyes shyly gazing at him.
He smiled in appreciation, causing her the blush. She had grown even more beautiful than before. Now taller, and her curves had filled out nicely. Her hair was a bit shorter, but still flowed freely down her back.
Despite her slight physical changes, he could see that she was still the same Kagome he had fallen in love with so many years ago on the inside. She had invited him in without demanding an explanation from him on what happened to them, even though he could see the questions in her eyes. It was as though time had stopped and that today was merely the day after their parting.
Not really hungry, he fiddled with the fork in his hand, as he tried to think of something to say. He snorted quietly to himself, `I'm acting as nervous as a schoolboy. Come on, this is Kagome. Stop being a wimp and say someth-'
"Inuyasha?"
Startled, the fork nearly fell from his hand. After fumbling with it and letting out a string of curse, almost knocking over the bowl in the process, "Yea?" His eyes glued to the noodles, completely mortified.
She giggled at his clumsiness.
It warmed his heart to hear her laugh like that again, to see that smile lit brightly across her face.
"You're not eating, are you okay?" she leaned across the table to place her hand on his forehead.
He flinched at her touch, causing her to draw back in misunderstanding and her smile to leave. Inuyasha quickly grabbed her hand, his thumb flickering across her palm lightly, "No, I mean yes. I'm just not very hungry."
"Oh," her eyes flickering from the joining of their hands to his face. Memory of their last week together rushed through her mind; especially how close they were to… She shook her head, trying to clear the image, and sat back down, ignoring the curious look on his face.
He cleared his throat and locked eyes with her, "Kagome… I-I know you're wondering why I never answered your letters all these years ago."
Her eyes dropped slightly at the reminder, but she did not withdraw her hand from his.
"It wasn't because I didn't want to…believe me I wanted to, your letters were what kept me going. It's because of that stupid prick Sesshomaru." Inuyasha took her letter out from his jacket, "I never got them…until yesterday. I stopped getting them a little before my mom…" He paused; his mom's death had never been an easy subject for him to talk about even now. She squeezed his hand gently for him to continue. He shut his eyes tightly, "Passed away."
She got up and her arms circled him from behind. "I'm so sorry Inuyasha… that I wasn't there for you to help you through it. Your mom was always so nice to me. She treated me like I was her own daughter," she rubbed her cheek against his. "I'm so sorry…"
There was no more need for words as they took comfort in each other's arms.
><><><><><><><>< ><
"Umm… Kagome," he called out from her bedroom.
She laid her book down on the coffee table and walked towards the direction of his voice. "Yea?"
"I kinda didn't have time to pack. Do you have something for me to wear?"
She opened the door and immediately blushed at the sight of a dripping wet Inuyasha with a towel wrapped around his waist. Avoiding eye contacts, she hurried over to her closet. "Umm… I think Souta had left behind some of his clothes last time he stayed over."
She tried to focus on finding him something to wear, but found that she could not get rid of the image of him standing there half naked behind her. Without turning around, she held a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt out to him. "He's about your height, they were kind of loose on him so they should fit you well." Her face grew hotter at the sound of his towel dropping to the ground.
"It's fine," he assured her. "You can turn around now."
She was right, while they were a bit loose on Souta, it fitted him perfectly.
Clearing his throat, "It's getting late. You should get some rest, I'll go sleep on the couch," he told her and began to walk out the room.
"Wait… there's plenty of room on my bed. You can sleep here with me like when we were kids. I want you near…"
><><><><><><><>< ><
She shifted to face him. "Are you comfortable?" she whispered.
"It's a bit warm, do you mind if I…" he asked.
"No, go ahead," turning away to give him privacy.
He sat up briefly and dropped his shirt down to the side of the bed, before resettling, still a little uncomfortable because of the jeans, but it was better. He closed his eyes and tried to sleep, but couldn't. "You're awake?"
Kagome turned and rest her head on the inside of her right arm. "Can't sleep either?"
"No," mirroring her position. They stared at each other for a while. "That bastard… was he…"
She closed her eyes, "No, just another stupid jerk that I had foolishly decided to go out with. I don't know why I do this to myself… " the last part escaped her mouth by accident.
Inuyasha reached out to clasp her hand and held it between them. His eyes narrowed at the sight that were beginning to form around her wrists. `If I wasn't there, he could have… she could have been… No, never again, I will protect her no matter what.'
Smiling at the contact, she reopened her bluish grays. "What about you… you have someone?" she asked carefully and hopefully, linking fingers with him. She had wanted him to be happy without her, `but to find happiness with someone else?'
She looked so angelic in her white nightgown. Her eyes shone brightly despite the dark, and her raven black hair seemed to be everywhere, spreading over her pillow. `And her hands… have they always been this small?' He squeezed at it gently. "No, I have no one but you." His other hand traced the contour of her cheek tenderly.
Kagome smiled, looking a bit teary-eyed by his words. "And you'll always have me, always."
He suddenly became aware of their close proximity to each other. Their linked hands were sandwiched tightly between their chests, and their lips only a mere inch apart. He could see her eyes searching his, waiting for him to speak, to act. His lips closed the distant and hesitantly brushed against hers. It was just as soft as he had remembered.
To his delight, she responded to his touch instantly, brushing back and pressing against his. Their chaste kiss grew deeper and deeper by the moment, as the torn lovers rediscovered each other, unearthing the emotions and desires that had been waiting so long to be released. It was as though they were never apart, and that seven years were as fleeting as seven seconds.
He drew her closer towards him with his free hand, before drifting down tenderly to the soft skin of her thigh, lifting it slightly so that it overlapped his legs. They rolled over, leaving her on top with her knees on both sides of his hips. Her hands flexed against the hard muscle of his chest while she placed butterfly kisses down his throat.
"Kagome," he whispered huskily, squeezing lightly at her bottom. "Are you sure?"
She replied by giving him a long lingering kiss, her hair forming a dark curtain around their faces. Pulling back slightly, her hand on his chest for support. "I've been sure about this since I first met you. Please don't make me wait any longer… " she murmured softly across his lips.
"I never wanted to make you wait." He sat up, his hand trailed down her body to the hem of her nightgown, lifting it up slowly, uncovering her inch by inch. Their eyes leaving each other's only briefly when the cloth was pulled over her eyes.
The feel of the cool air against her skin left her feeling raw and exposed. She wanted to cover her body up but found that she couldn't, his heated gaze held her immobile.
He tenderly cupped her breasts with both hands, marveling in its softness. His thumbs flickered lightly at the sensitive peaks, which tightened immediately. He leaned in and captured on of her rosy buds between his lips, suckling her, causing Kagome to bend her back, and her thighs to clutch strongly around his torso.
She felt lightheaded and on fire at the same time as his lips and hand devoured her chest. His mouth never losing contact as they fell backward on the bed, falling to eternity. He eventually found his way back to her mouth, his tongue dancing with hers. The tips of her fingers traced at the pattern of the muscles on his back, feeling them flexed and contracted.
"Kagome," he murmured her name in between kisses. He got off her to remove the last articles of clothing that stood in their way.
She whimpered silently at the sudden lost of his skin and opened her eyes to find him kneeling nude in front of her. Blushing hotly when she realized her eyes were lingering a little too long on his freed arousal.
Chuckling lightly at her reaction, he slid her underwear down her long legs, and tossed it carelessly on the floor. He crawled stalkingly on top of her, his limbs forming a cage made of flesh around her body.
She lifted her hands to tug his body against hers, spreading her legs to welcome him into her embrace. It felt so right, to have him be so close, flesh-to-flesh, as though she had just regained a huge part of her. `Am I dreaming?'
Inuyasha tenderly kissed the corner of her mouth, running his tongue slowly across the surface. He wanted this moment to last forever with her lying underneath him, radiating love from her eyes, but the other part of him…
Every twitch and flex of muscle grinded them close together, letting her know how much he desired her. She tensed with anticipation and anxiety with the feel of his erection against her entrance. "Inu… I… I've never done this before. I couldn't with anyone else. I just couldn't. Is this your- I mean have you been-" she stuttered out nervously.
He silenced her with a kiss. "Shh… don't be stupid, and don't worry. I told you that a long time ago, you're the only woman I've ever wanted to be with. The only one," he assured her, before disappearing inside her tight passage in an agonizing pace, pausing at the proof of her maidenhood.
Lacing fingers with their hands clasped by the side of her head, he rocked his hip forward, taking both their virginity.
It took every ounce of his self-control to resist the primal urge to bury and rebury himself deep within her right away as her muscles clamped down on his. Inuyasha groaned, sounding almost like a growl. He could not believe how good it felt to be surrounded by her warmth.
Kagome's eyes widened and she cried out silently, her hands gripped his. A drop of tear rolled slowly down her face, not one of pain, but one of absolute happiness. It did not hurt as much as she thought it would, just an incredible sense of completion and fullness. `Finally… After so long… "
"You're okay? If-if you want me to stop…" he stammered, straining to keep from moving.
She blinked couple of time, trying to focus on forming a reply instead of the wave of heat that was spreading quickly inside her. "No, I mean yea… I'm okay. Keep going… "
Inuyasha dragged himself in and out slowly within her, dropping small kisses all over her face and neck, stopping his movement at any signs of her discomfort until Kagome began to move with him. The tips of her fingers pressing at the muscles on his back, running up and down his spine, telling him to go faster, push harder, her full mouth parted sensually from the sensation. Soon they fell into a rhyme that was as steady as the beating of their hearts.
The room echoed with soft moans and gasps as the two childhood friends were finally reunited with each other in the fullest of sense. They moved together as one, their hips grinding against each other, working… searching for their peak, their completion.
It finally came, the endless waves of emotion and love they felt for each other washing over them, nearly drowning in each other. Breathing heavily, he dropped down beside her and took her protectively in his embrace, his chin on top of her head. They lay tangled immobile in each other's arms as they waited for their voice to return, listening to the loud thundering of heartbeats and deep panting.
"Inuyasha?" her hair tickling his nose with her movements.
"Hmm?" rubbing lazily at her back.
"What's gonna happen now?" she shifted her position so she could look him directly in the eyes.
He cocked his brow at her. "You mean you want to do it again?"
Blushing at his implication. "No, not now silly, I mean us… are you, are we… ? "
"Feh, you still talk too much." Inuyasha smiled lovingly down at her. "I don't know what I have to do, but before the night is over you're going to be absolutely convinced that you're stuck with me from now on… I'm never going to let you go."
She smiled brightly at him. "Good. I'm never leaving your side again."
