Starting Over

Summary: Inuyasha and Kagome are in high school together, the perfect relationship ever. Inuyasha gets an offer to study at the best school in the world, literally. Kagome wishes him the best of luck and promises to await his return. After a month Inuyasha moves without telling her, leaving her with a secret. Four Years later he returns with a fiancé. How will she react? Will she tell him her secret? Or will he be kept in the dark about his own son?

Kagome woke up with her arm across the empty space on the bed. She sat up suddenly. Looking at the clock it read 9:00 pm. She wiped her tears away. `I fell for it again didn't I? He's gone again. I'm so stupid.' She thought willing the tears away. She walked out and into the kitchen where she found the two boys cooking.

“No! More Suger!” Kin squealed.

“More sugar! I'll give you more sugar.” He said bending down and tickling him. Kin laughed and turned away squealing.

“MOMMY!” He yelled getting out of Inuyasha's grasp and running to his mom who picked him up. “Daddy and I make breakfest fer you.” He said proudly.

“Oh really?” she said walking over to Inuyasha. “What did you two make?”

“Pancakes.” Inuyasha answered. “Hey kiddo go get cleaned up for breakfast.” Inuyasha said turning off the stove.

“KAY!” He said and running off as his mom let him down. Kagome laughed watching her son run off. Kagome turned to Inuyasha.

“I thought you left.” She said softly.

“Nope, you can't get rid of me that easily.” He smirked pulling her close and crashing his lips against hers. She tickled his stomach making him pull away.

“Walking around without a shirt, what will Kin think?” She smirked.

“Mommy look I'm daddy!” He said appearing from around the corner in jeans and no shirt.

“That answers that question.”Kagome looked from Kin to Inuyasha tapping her fingers on the counter.

“Well at least we know hes my son.” He laughed. Kagome took a towel and smacked him and started dishing out the pancakes.

After breakfast they all went out to the park, and for the first time Kin was able to play with his dad. She watched from the bench as Inuyasha and Kin ran around tossing a ball every now and then. Both of them just laughing and smiling. Kagome was too wrapped up in watching them to notice Naomi's prescence.

“Well look at this. The slut returns.” Kagome slowly got up and turned around.

“Naomi, what are you doing here?” She growled.

“I saw you and your little brat with Inuyasha. How did you do it? Did you lie and tell him your little sob story?” She asked walking up infront of her.

“No I just told him the truth about his son!” She growled. Naomi laughed and pushed Kagome back.

“That's funny. Pulling out that old trick. Tell me if he really wanted to be with you don't you think he would have asked you to marry him? Oh no you were too busy forcing him into this.” She said shoving her again.

“Mommy! Daddy say he be right back.” Kin said appearing next to Kagome.

“Oh how cute hes in on it too.” She said.

“Who you talking bout?” Kin asked.

“Oh so he doesn't know then.” She smirked she kneeled close to him and wrapped her arm around him. “You know that man, Inuyasha? He's not your daddy. Your mommy doesn't know who your daddy is. She fucked too many guys to know. Your mommy is just a skanky, slutty, whore.” Kin gasped and backed away shaking.

“Don't you ever talk to my son again!” Kagome said shoving her back. Naomi got serious and smacked Kagome. Kagome snapped and jumped on Naomi. Inuyasha saw her jump on her and ran over trying to break it up. He pulled Kagome off the poor girl holding her close. “Just leave me and my son alone!” Kagome screamed as tears fell. Naomi got up and was about to go for her but was stopped by Inuyasha.

“NAOMI LEAVE NOW!” He growled. Naomi sneered and stomped off. Kagome broke down crying going limp. Inuyasha sank down to the ground still holding her.

“Kagome it's ok shes gone now it's ok.” He said softly. He turned to look at Kin. “What did she say to you Kin?” He asked. Kin looked at him rubbing his eyes.

“She say you weren't my daddy and that mommy was a whore and she funked to many guys.” He said crying. Kagome wiped her eyes and grabbed Kin.

“Don't listen to her baby. Yash is your father.” She said softly rocking him. Inuyasha lifted them both up and carried them to the car.

Later that night after things calmed down Kagome was walking out of Kin's room the little tike fast asleep. She went to the couch and sat down next to Inuyasha who pulled her into his lap.

“I'm sorry Inuyasha.” She whispered.

“Kagome, you have no need. Is that what you meant when you said verbal assault?” He asked holding her close. Kagome swallowed hard and nodded. “I called Sesshomaru yesturday. I told him to tell my parents the wedding was off. And I called Sango and Miroku to tell them I was here but not tell anyone.” Kagome smiled and nuzzled into his chest.

“Inuyasha, I don't want to force you to be with us. I will understand if you want…”

“Stop it! Don't you listen? I wan't to be here!” He said and nuzzled into the crook of her neck. “God Kagome. I never wanted to leave. I'm sorry. I let my family control me. No more though. I know what I want…” He growled and licked her neck. She shuddered and moved her head to the side giving him access as he made his way up to her ear. “…And I always get what I want.” He finished nibbling on her silky lobe. Kagome moaned and allowed him to reposition her so she was to his chest. She could feel the effect she had on him poking dangerously close to her spot. He took time licking and nipping along her neck while his hands slowly went down to her knees wrapping his hands around them and pulling her legs up around his waist. Kagome reached for him wrapping her arms around his neck. He brought his right hand up her thigh hitching up the black shorts she was wearing along with it. He set her down on the couch and brought his hand up underneath her white shirt to her bra. Kagome gasped at the feeling of his hand stroking her nipple through the thin material of her bra. Kagome removed her hands and took his off her breast. He looked at her disappointed.

“Kagome I…” She put her finger to his lips.

“Inuyasha, I just can't do this when I still have doubts that we are going to last this time and if in the morning I won't wake up and find you gone.” She whispered. She got out of his grip and went to the kitchen. Inuyasha sat there. He knew this was hard for her, he was asking quite a bit of her. He knew that she was right, even he had doubts that he would still be forced into his marriage. He got up and walked into the kitchen and found her staring out the window her hands on her arms. He walked quietly over and wrapped his arms around her resting his chin on her shoulder.

“You're right. Kagome, I want nothing more then to be with you both. But even I don't know if my family will give me the choice.” He whispered.

“Inuyasha I don't ask you to stay. I don't want you to have this much pressure. But your son has wanted a dad for so long. The only thing I ask is that you try to come see him every now and then.” She said reaching down and covering his hands with hers.

“Kagome, I would leave my family and everything right now, but then what good would that do? I would have nothing to support you two, nothing to offer… except the love I've always felt for you. And my new love for our son.”

“That's all we need.” Kagome said turning around in his arms and holding him close.

“Kagome…” A knock sounded at the door and Kagome broke slowly. She walked over to it as another knock came. She opened it leaving the chain lock in. Kagome gasped. There in front of her stood the man she hoped she wouldn't see for awhile.

“Sesshomaru…”
