Inuyasha: *sniffs*

 

Me: You're not crying are you?!?!

Inuyasha: NO! *turns away and sniffs*

 

Me: Don't cry!

Inuyasha: But its over… no more me….

Me: Well not exactly….

Me: Yeah…… ANYWAY….

 

 

Kagome slowly stirred at the light that poured in through the window and the chill in the air. She groaned flipping over, stretching her arm out to wrap around the warm body next to her. She just got pillows and blankets. Moving her arms around she realized he wasn't there. That woke her up and she immediately sat up alarmed looking at that side of the bed. It had been a dream, all of it. She grabbed a pillow stuffing it in her face as she softly cried into it. She worried about this that she would one day wake up and he wouldn't be here in her apart- Wait… She looked up from her pillow. This wasn't her apartment. This was… Her attention turned to the opening door.

 

“Hey baby, you better-“ He stopped looking at her worriedly. “What's wrong?” He whispered sitting down next to her on the bed. He brought his hand up and stroked her face. Wiping away the stray tears.

 

“I-I'm sorry, I just, you weren't here when I woke up and…” She began sniffing.

“Never mind its stupid.” She laughed wiping her eyes. But he knew, some how, some way he knew. Stroking her arms he smiled.

“Hey…” He began laying down on her legs. “I will always be here when you wake up.” She winced a little.

 

“Are you mad?” She lowered her head.

 

“Why would I be?”

 

“Well…” She started looking around the large master bedroom. “ I'm always doubting you'll be here…”

 

“Kagome, I love the fact you need me to be here when you wake up. IT makes me happy to know that you need me almost as much as I need you.” He said leaning up and kissing her softly. He went back down smiling. “Come on…” He got up off the bed holding a hand out to her. “I started a fire in the living room, and Kin will be up soon.” She accepted his hand and he pulled her up, wrapping his arm around her, holding her close as she rested her head on his chest. “There.” He squeezed, rubbing her back. Kagome snuggled closer into his body as he rocked them a little from side to side.

 

“Mmmm…” She groaned straining to look at the clock. “What time is it?” Inuyasha moved her to his side so he could look.

 

“Almost eight.” He replied making her groan again.

 

“And how late were we up last night?”

 

“Uhhh… Till about two we finished putting the presents out and came back to bed and… fucked.” She giggled.

 

“You love saying that don't you?” He leaned down as he streached.

 

“Mmmmm…..maybe. I'm not some pansy guy that says we had Sexual Intercourse if that's what your'e lookin for.”

 

“No. I like it just how you say it. Anyway, we need to get ready. We have about twenty-four seconds.” She said breaking away to put on some panties and his maroon robe.

 

“What??” He asked confused.

 

“Seventeen, sixteen….” She continued as she brushed her hair. “Five, four, three…” She slipped on some slippers walking to the door. “Two, one…”

 

“MOMMY!!!” Kin ran in screaming straight into her legs hugging them.

 

“Wow, you're good.” He said behind her as she picked him up.

 

“Eh.” She shrugged. “Did you check to see if you got presents from Santa?” She asked excitedly to Kin.

 

“No.” He replied shaking his head.

 

“You better go see! Maybe you got coal.” She said tickling his belly.

 

“No.” He laughed shaking his head again.

 

“Ok, go see.” She patted his head as he ran out down the hall to the living room, Inuyasha and her following close after. He gasped happily at the huge boxes that were littered along the bottom of the nine-foot tree they had picked out. It left just enough room for the large star at the top for the ten foot ceilings. He ran around the tree looking at several presents before turning back to his parents standing in the doorway.

 

“Get some presents kiddo?” Inuyasha asked putting his arm around Kagome.

 

“Yeah!” He gasped looking so excited as his gaze went from them to the presents as if debating on which were more important. “Can we open `em?”

 

“You wanna open them with him while I make some coffee?” He asked.

 

“I want hot chocolate, you want hot chocolate Kin?”

 

“Yes prese.” He said bouncing on the couch. Inuyasha made to leave but Kagome grabbed his arm.

 

“I'll do it, you go sit with him.” She whispered kissing his cheek and going into the kitchen as he sat down next to Kin. Kagome could hear him talking in the living room as she turned on the coffee pot and got two coffee mugs and a to go travel cup for Kin out.

 

“Ok kiddo before you start let me give you a few pointers. First, leave the biggest for last.” Inuyasha advised.

 

“Why?”

 

“Because its like saving the best for last.”

 

“Save best for last?”

 

“Yeah, so go pick out a present for you and me while mommy make the drinks ok?”

 

“Kay!” Some shuffling was heard as the coffee started to drip into the pot. She turned off the tap and the measuring pitcher into the microwave. It started up as Kin got back to the couch supposedly with his present.

 

“Ok now you have to shake it a little to try to figure it out.” A rattling noise followed and Kagome feared the day he got something breakable. “Good. Now, lets see who can get the wrapping off the fastest ok?” `He's cleaning all of it up.' Kagome thought as she took out the left over meat and cheese tray figuring it was better than nothing. She took the top off and grabbed some napkins taking it out and setting it on the table as the men viciously tore into these poor packages. She smiled as she saw Inuyasha going slow so Kin would win looking defeated when he did.

 

“I beet you!” Kin cried happily.

 

“Yeah you did. Hey mom!” He called after Kagome.

 

“What?” She asked turning around.

 

“What is this? Where is our REAL breakfast?” He teased holding up the tray. She glared at him darkly and he held up his hands. “Kidding!” He called eating some meat as he finished. She just turned around and walked back in getting his coffee, pouring it in a glass.

 

“Sugar?” She called holding the container over the glass.

 

“Yeah!” Inuyasha called back and she dumped the whole thing into it. It filled it all the way up to the top, clearly visible. Grabbing it and setting it down in front of him she went back in finishing the hot chocolate and bring it out as well. He still hadn't noticed. Kin was fawning over his brand new toy fire truck making little noises as Inuyasha watched him laughing. He picked his cup up and took a sip immediately choking on it.

 

“Enough sugar in it DEAR?” She asked in a sickly sweet voice.

 

“Yeah…” He rasped out still a little shocked over the pure sugar.

 

“Kin you want a sip of your cocoa?”

 

“Yeah!” Kin cried happily jumping into his mom's lap as she handed him the glass and he took a few small sips.

 

“Taste good?” He nodded pulling away from it and placing it back on the table before wiping the dark mustache all over his red nightgown. Inuyasha laughed but only because HE didn't do the laundry.

 

“Can we open stocklings?”

 

“Sure, Yash help him with that?” She asked taking a sip of her chocolate.

 

“Yeah.” He replied getting up and helping Kin get his little paw print stocking down and carrying his own with Kagome's back to his seat.

A few hours later they had all the gifts open and were all dressed, planning on going out to play in the snow in the park down the street. Kin wore his brand new black gloves, custom made for Youkai talons, and black scarf with red paw prints on it. He wore his older black snow boots, black pants, red jacket and red beanie with his name printed in front in black, a gift from grandma Izayoi. Yash's parents were coming over around two or so and her grandfather and Souta would be joining them along with Sango and Miroku who were close to having their first born.

 

“Ready?” Kagome asked pulling on her white beanie with her matching white-gloved hands. She wore a white scarf tied around the collar of her denim jacket. She wore black boots with white fur at the top and jeans that were tucked into them.

 

“Yeah!” Kin nodded.

 

“Got the stuff for the snowman?” Kin nodded once more and lifted up the shopping bag. “Good.” Inuaysha came up behind her, matching her oufit save for a few things. His boots didn't have the fur at the top and his dark jeans weren't tucked in. He also left his jacket undone a little at the top so you could see his balck turtle neck. Lastly, he wore a black scarf, mittens, and beanie.

 

“Ready?” He asked grabbing the keys.

 

“Yep. Ok let's go!” Kagome announced opening the door and letting Kin skip out ahead. Kagome followed him to the sidewalk where they waited for Yash. It only took him a few seconds to catch up and they headed off. Halfway there Kin handed the bag to Kagome and asked Inuyasha for a ride. Inuyasha complied putting him up on his shoulder's and grabbing Kagome's hand. They walked like that down to the park where they cleared off a snow covered bench and set down the bag before playing. They had a snow ball fight, one which Yash started and Kagome and Kin finished. They all ran around giggling as they threw balls of snow at each other, Inuyasha grabbing Kin and taking him as hostage. Kagome tackled them both and they all fell into the snow where they rolled around a little and made some snow angels. After that was done they set out to building a giant snow man. The base ended up being bigger then Kin with Inuyasha making it, and Kagome made the middle with Kin before finishing it with the head. They dressed it up with a carrot nose, charcoal buttons, twig arms, button eyes, and an old, moth eaten scarf. When done they all stood back admiring their work and headed back to the bench for more hot chocolate to warm up. Inuyasha put his arm around Kagome as they both watched Kin play in the snow making random things, completely fascinated with this white, cold, substance that covered the earth.

 

“Daddy! Come pray wif me!” He laughed.

 

“Ok!” He sighed getting up and walking towards him. Kagome watched as he helped Kin build things and throw snow at each other happily. Watching them play made Kagome realize how realistic her life was. Her nightmares were gone, chased away by her night in shining armor. She no longer needed to sulk wishing for better times because they were now staring her in the face. She knew now more then ever, she was no longer waiting alone. Since then she no longer woke up with a dread of never seeing him again and everything was perfect. Little did she know what the future had in for her.

A/n: I might do a sequel if I can ever figure out exactly what I want into it. Anyway, #2 seems to be the popular story so I will start working on that one.
