Waiting For The Weekend
“Train Tickets”
Hi y'all! I'm back, and I am ready to write more to WAITING FOR THE WEEKEND! I have finally decided to just pick it up and continue on with this story that people seem to like. How do y'all like that? I've revised this chapter, and edited and… you know, spelling and grammar check, Enjoy!
”Saint what?!” Screamed Kagome.
”Saint what?!” Screamed Kagome.
“Saint Willows Girls' Academy of Social Graces.” Recited Kagome's mother in her usual calm tone.
“Why!? Why would you send me…Send me there?” Asked Kagome, no panicking.
“Because, your behaviour is atrocious. You gamble your time. You party—I could've sworn I smelt beer on you before and—”
“I don't drink! Someone spilt beer on me when they bumped into me! How many time do I have to explain that story?”
“You don't, because your attitude does. You are being dishonest Kagome! And don't even try to deny it!”
“But!”
“No! Let me finish!”
“No bu--”
“Stop!”
“MOM!”

“MOM!”
“What do you want child?!”
“I want…I want you…t-to r-rec-consider!”
Kagome now felt her eyes growing moist and found herself hurriedly trying to dry them. She didn't want to leave. She was seventeen, and just starting her life! She had friends! And her grandpa was sick. And Souta just got his first girlfriend! She didn't want to miss out on graduation! She wanted to get a job here as a bookstore manager, or a bakery girl! She wasn't what her mom thought she was. She was not a party animal, seeking sex and drugs and alcohol! She was normal. She loved animals and kids and reading, and listening to North American music. She wanted to do something with her life. She didn't want to waste away getting high and suffering nasty hangovers.
“Mom…Y-you d-don't know me. You d-don't know me at all!”
Kagome's eyes were now glistening and her face was pale and tearstained. She covered her ears with her hands and ran out of her bedroom before her mother could try and argue.
“Get back here young lady! Where do you think you're going?”
She could barely hear her mother's angry cries echoing down the street. She didn't know where she was going. She was just running. She wanted to get away from her mom as fast as possible.
`Maybe this saint whatever academy wouldn't be that bad. It would mean getting away from my horrid mother anyway…'
Kagome was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she wasn't looking where she was going. Before she knew it, she had stumbled right into something. Or someone…
She looked up to see whom she had stupidly bumped into, and to her surprise, it was a boy. He was breathtakingly cute, and his eyes were violet coloured. His hair was draped over his shoulders and hung down his back like a curtain of midnight. Kagome was so mesmerized by how beautiful this boy was, that she didn't realize he was giving her an annoyed look.
“Hey, You! What're you staring at?”
Kagome jumped and was snapped back to reality.
“Oh. I…I uh didn't me to…”
“Keh. Don't hurt yourself.”
“I…I wasn't! I mean. I…are you okay? I feel really stupid and—”
“If you think I can be hurt that easily, than you obviously don't know me very well…I mean…”
Kagome looked at him with a smirk on her face.
“Well. I am pretty sure I have never seen you before in my life, so I am guessing that I probably don't know you very well after all.”
“I want…I want you…t-to r-rec-consider!”

Kagome smirked. Now it was his turn to look stupid.
“Keh. Whatever.”
Both now noticed their current position. AKA: Kagome pressed up against a strange boy she had never met, her hands on his chest and his arms lightly placed on her sides—put there from reflex when she first bumped into him, as if he was going to push her off aggressively. But for some reason this action never occurred…
Both looked at each other shyly as they jumped apart and turned their heads away slightly. Kagome's cheeks were turning a light shade of pink, and this strange guy noticed it of course.
“Nice blush there kitty-cat,” laughed the strange guy.
Kagome blushed even deeper when he called her that little pet name.
`Damn. She's so cute. Even cuter when she blushes like that…'
“Well uh--” Kagome tried to speak but was at a loss for words.
“Why are you out so late anyway Hun? It's like…”
The guy checked his watch.
“ 11 pm.”
“Sorry. I…wait. Why am I saying sorry to you?” Kagome asked.
“Dunno.”
“Well. I was going to go and grab a bite to eat. I've had a bad night, but…I feel bad for running into you like that so, why don't I buy you something to eat? It's the least I can do after…”
The young man stood there, totally zoned out of what she was saying. She was offering him food. Free food.
“Keh. Whatever.”

Enough said.
“So what do you say then?” She asked hopefully.
“So what do you say then?” She asked hopefully.
“Sure, I mean, if you want to. I don't really care. You didn't cause any damage.”
“I know but—I feel like I should. Oh, by the way; before I treat you, can I ask for your name?”
“InuYasha. You?”
“Kagome,” she replied in a cheerful tone. So… This guy's name was InuYasha?
`I like it,' she thought.
`Kagome.' InuYasha thought. He delighted in the way the sound of her name made him feel. The way the name rolled off his lips.
“All right, well—We should get going then,” said Kagome.
InuYasha looked up sharply.
“Y-yeah. Lets go.”
_________
Kagome's mother was pacing again.
“When is that stupid girl going to learn?” Kei yelled (This is Kagome's mothers' name in the story) to Kagome's 13-year-old brother, Souta.
Souta look up from his game boy.
“When did you start hating her?”
“I...I...I d-don't hate her!”
“Yes, you do.” Souta replied before returning to his video game.
“ARRGG!” Screamed Kei.
The truth was, Kei believed that her dad was going to die. It was stressful and hard taking care of him, and when Kagome tried to help, she just got in the way. Kei would yell at Kagome. Kagome would yell back, and then disappear through the front door.
Kei didn't like yelling at Kagome. But she thought sending her away, might relieve some of the tension between them. And after a year, she would come home, and everything would be all right again. Of course, Kagome would come home for the holidays, and summer vacation, but then Kagome might still miss her grandpa's last day. Everything was falling apart right in front of Kei's eyes. Her own family was falling apart! Her life.
`And I am just dragging everyone down with me.'
Kei sighed. She knew Kagome would protest. But she had to send her away. She knew Kagome would never become what Saint Willows calls' `Company of the Queen' but Kagome might meet some new friends, and would get away from the stresses of her life.
`Meaning…me.'
Kei left the room in silence, and phoned the train service to reserve tickets for Kagome.
“Hello! Koutu Aita speaking! How may I help you?”
The cheerful man on the other line sounded so carefree. She felt guilty for what she was about to do.
“May I please buy 1 ticket to Saint Willows, for 2 days from now?”
“Yes you may. So that's for June the 15th?”
“Yes.”
“Okay ma'am! May I please have your name and address?”
“You may. It is for my daughter, Kagome Higurashi. And our address is 124, The Higurashi Shrine, Kyoukai Road.”
“Thank you very much ma'am. Your daughter's ticket will be waiting for her at the train station on June the 15th.”
Thank you so much Koutu.”
“Your welcome, have a nice day!”
Both lines went dead, and Kei looked at the front door, wishing Kagome would walk through it.
`I am sorry Kagome.'
That's it for the first chapter. Working on second. I will try to get it up quickly. What did you think? I hope it's good, I want to continue with it =] R&R Please ^_^
