Chapter 12: Witch Doctor

It was dark. Kagome hurried down the blacked out hallway. She stopped when she got to two doors. One marked Inuyasha; one marked Kouga. Kagome kept switching glances back and forth at the doors. Finally, she reached for the door marked Kouga but then recoiled her hand when she heard screams come from behind the door. She automatically ran to Inuyasha's door. She kept twisting the doorknob but it was locked. She pushed on the door, desperate to get in when she saw something creep out of the crack of Kouga's door. The screams got louder and louder until…

Kagome opened her eyes. She felt hot and was breath heavily. She pulled off the covers and rushed to the bathroom. She turned on the light and looked in the mirror. She was drenched in sweat. She grabbed a towel and patted her face lightly.

“Something wrong?” Kouga whispered.

“Yeah. Just a…bad dream. That's all.” Kagome answered.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah I'm fine. I'll just walk around the house…you know, to relax.”

“Okay. Whatever you want to do.” Kouga rolled over and went back asleep.

Kagome walked out and closed the door quietly. She walked out into the living room and turned on the light. She went to the phone and dialed a number. It rang a few times before someone picked up.

“I don't remember ordering a wake-up call,” a voice answered.

“Sango I need your help.”

“At two in the frickin morning? You'd better be stuck on the side of some road!”

“Now I remember why you said you're not a morning person.”

“You're right. So good night!”

“Um…morning.” Kagome corrected.

“It's dark outside, so I'm calling it night!” Sango was to hang up.

“Wait! Sango, please I need your help.”

Sango sighed, “Okay what'd you need?”

“I had a bad dream.” There a pause over the line, “Sango?”

“ARE YOU KIDDING? A bad dream! Are we four-years-old?”

“No Sango you don't understand. It was really bad. A dream about Inuyasha and Kouga.”

Sango gasped, “Did I hear Inuyasha's name? Now you're dreaming about him?”

“Bad dreams!”

“Well the fact that Kouga was in it makes it a nightmare.”

“But the weird thing was, I have no idea what it meant.”

“Oh! I know someone who can help with that.”

“Who?”

“Ayame.”

“Ayame knows how to decipher dreams?”

“If decipher means find out what things mean then yes. I can take you to her house tomorrow. I mean, if the dream was really that bad.”

“It was. Trust me.”

“Okay I'll pick you up at one.”

“Thanks. Bye”

“Oh and by the way,”

“Yeah?”

“Don't sleep in.”

Kagome smiled, “Shut up.” She hung up.

@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$
The two waited at the door for someone to answer. They saw an attractive red head answer the door. She was very surprised to see them.

“Kagome, Sango what are you doing here?” Ayame asked.

“Poor Kagome here had a bad dream.” Sango said in a pouting voice. Kagome rolled her eyes.

“And I have no idea what it means.” Kagome said.

Ayame smiled, “I think I can help you with that.”

“Told you.” Sango teased.

“I never doubted you!” Kagome shouted.

They walked into her house. Ayame's house was so peaceful and calm. She had candles and inscents laid out. She had two rooms, two bathrooms. There was one living room, kitchen, and dining room. But Ayame led the girls outside to the backyard. The backyard was even more beautiful. There were flowers along side the inside perimeter of the yard, with the exception of the grapefruit tree in the left corner. There was a fountain in the middle of the yard. They stepped out to the table with an umbrella in the right corner.

“Wow this is amazing!” Kagome exclaimed.

“I was expecting potions, cauldrons, spell books, and black cats,” Sango said.

“What'd you mean by that?” Kagome asked.

“Ayame's a witch.”

“I am not!” Ayame yelled.

“One time me and Ayame were playing cards, and I kept telling her I was going to win and then she did this thing where she jinxed my cards. After that, I lost every game.”

“That doesn't prove anything. What game were you playing?” Kagome asked.

“Poker.”

“Oh that explains everything.”

“I know right?”

“You suck at Poker!”

“I know she does! Plus Sango, when I `jinxed' your cards, I was kidding around.” Ayame added.

“Well then that explains everything!” Sango flopped down in a chair.

Ayame sighed, “So kiddo tell me all about your dream.”

“Well it started out like this…” Kagome slowly explained everything that happened in her dream. When she finished, Ayame was left stunned. “So what'd think?”

“I think your coco bananas!” Ayame exclaimed. Sango laughed.

“Ayame!” Kagome whined.

“Sorry, sorry. But that sounds like some dream. Well here's what I think, you're stuck between two men a—“

“Well we knew that!” Sango blurted out. Kagome glared at her. She sunk lower into her chair.

“As I was saying, you're stuck between two men and you obviously think you should take Kouga. Now the screaming at the door could be two things. It could be the wrong door to take, so the screaming is like a warning. Or, the screams indicate your future with that door, so like you'll be going through a living hell. Th—“

“C! Both of the above!” Sango again blurted out. Kagome glared even harder and Sango sank further into her chair.

“Then you run to Inuyasha's door for some sort of protection. When the door is locked, it may mean you can't have that door, there's something preventing you from getting in. As for the figure coming out of door, I'm not sure of.”

“That's all the info I need. But what'd you think I should do?”

“Well you do whatever you want to do. But if you really want my opinion, I say you find some way to get through the locked door.”

“Ha! I told you to go with Inuyasha!” Sango yelled.

“But it is Kagome's choice. So if she wants Kouga, she can take Kouga.”

“You're not really going to take Kouga are you?”
“Well I—“ Kagome felt shaking in her pocket. She pulled out her cell phone. She hadn't got the screen fixed so she still couldn't see who was calling her. She put one finger up to Sango and Ayame to give her a minute. She got up but the girls followed her.

“Hello?”

“Hey it's Inuyasha.”

“Oh my god! It's the locked door!” Ayame screamed.

“Where are you and…wait, what about a locked door?”

“Oh I'm at a friend's house and…. her bathroom… door is locked. She's pushing on it. I'm just telling her to BE QUIET and stop pushing or the door will fall KNOCK HER OUT!” Kagome replied emphasizing to tell her friends to shut up.

“Okay? Anyway, I'm sorry about last night.”

“What did you do last night?!” Sango yelled.

“What's going on?” Inuyasha asked.

“Uh…um…my friend's door has been locked all morning…and um Sango was asking what she did last night that would you know…get the door locked. And don't even worry about last night it was partly my fault too.”

“Yeah but I shouldn't have…even did that.”

“Oh no, no. I shouldn't have…you know…either.”

“Can we talk about this tonight?”

“Yes you can!” Both girls shouted.

“No girls I can not help you break down the door!” Kagome shouted back. “Sorry. But yeah, you want to meet at the park?”

“Sure.”

“Bye.” Kagome hung up her phone. She glared at her two so-called friends. “You guys SUCK!”

“Someone's trying to unlock the locked door!” Ayame teased.

“Actually she leaving it locked.” Kagome said.

“What? What are you talking about?” Sango asked.

“I'm leaving it locked. I'm sticking with the other door.”

“But what about the wrong choice and living hell?” Sango questioned.

“I can get through it.”

“You're right. You're boyfriend made it through hell without a scratch. You could probably do it too.” Sango said.

“Say what you want, but I'm not leaving Kouga.”

“Why?”

“You wouldn't understand. Ayame, thanks for helping me but we need to go.” Kagome said. Sango sighed and went into the house towards the front door. Kagome turned around to start walking but Ayame grabbed her arm. She wore long sleeves so Ayame or Sango didn't find out about the cut and start questioning. She squinted her eyes in pain.

“Kagome make sure you're making the right choice.” Ayame said with a stern voice.

“I am. I'm sure of it.” Ayame nodded even though she didn't believe her.

And I kept getting the good hands. So my mom did this thing where she HEXED my cards! And I really DID lose every game after that! I did tweak it a little, though. It was suckish. On another note, this was written on April 8th. But my mom might let me post these chapters at her work so I'm crossing my fingers. Member LunaStar wuvs you all!
