InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ What Next! ❯ A Village That is No More ( Chapter 1 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
OK, guys, if you were wonderin’ why this story said it was updated and all and I have the same amount of chapters, it is because I am going through all my old fanfictions, and revising them. ‘Cause guys, I sucked as a writer when I first started. Well, I hope you like the revised version better.
Summary: And Kagome thought things were weird before! Everything turns upside down when the other brother of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru shows up, Kagome finds out about her past, and, the group finds out that there just maybe more than just Kikyou and Naraku to worry about. Nothing seems to be right as the truth is unraveled, secrets revealed, and strange people just keep popping up out of nowhere.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Inuyasha and co. Wahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! falls on the ground
kicking and screaming It's not FAIR!!!! But I do own Jake, Jason, Arnold, Sara, Emily, Kecko,
and Shoobakin. If you try to take them, you shall feel my wrath.
One more thing and I promise I'll shut up, every new chapter I will put up a description of one of
my characters, so for today it is: Jake- Age:8 years old, Hair: short and black, Eyes: Amber,
Clothing: blue jeans, white tennis shoes, green sleeveless shirt, Specials: fangs, claws, twin to
Jason.
"Why, wench, you tired already?" Inuyasha retorted, his eyes peeking at her, scowling as usual and mocking her with each arrogant step that he took.
"As matter of fact, I am, and so are a lot of us, YOU INSENSITIVE JERK! Are you really that
blind?! I can't believe how immature you are!" Kagome shot back, her eyes ablaze with a fury that few ever survived from.
"Hey, if you haven't realized it yet we are sort of on a mission! Meaning no slacking off,
including from weaklings like you!"Inuyasha snorted, his pride bulling up against the little female that dared to question his authority.
"I, sit, am, sit, not, sit, a weakling ! SIT!!!" Kagome shouted, the rosary around Inuyasha’s neck glowing, and pulling him down to the unforgiving Earth with an unseen force.
"I'm sorry Inuyasha, what was that?" Kagome asked the hanyou kindly, a fake smile plastered on her flawless face, her brown eyes holding mischief within their depths.
"I said do you have to do that every time, bitch," Inuyasha commented, a deep growl forming in his muscular chest and spilling from his lips.
"It's Kagome,"she stated, and stuck her tongue out in response to Inuyasha’s growl, and twirling on her heel, she left the hanyou where he lay.
Joining the others, Kagome placed herself next to the tiny kit who had yet to awaken from his deep slumber. The slayer sat, leaning against her faithful youki companion, Kirara, as the giant cat curled around her. The monk gazed lazily up at the sky, quite use to the daily squabbles of the two, and finding it rather dull. But the two youki, who had just recently joined the group, were rolling upon the ground in hysteria, tears rolling down their flushed cheeks, and them holding their sides as they ached with pain.
Meanwhile.....
"Where is Kikyou, you puny humans?" the roar of a great beast screeched with utter fury, and sound echoed off the canyon walls, where the little village was nestled amongst.
"If you will not tell me then I shall have to dispose of you,” and the great creature raised his mighty claws, slashing through huts, stables, humans, and animals alike, covering his body in the stench of blood...the stench of a tainted heart.
"Find me my brothers, face your worst nightmare, for I have returned and will not leave until Kikyou ceases to walk this Earth. And then you, my brothers, will then face me, for your betrayal, and then we shall go to Hell together," cried the evil voice, his head raising, malicious laughter filled the purple sky, lightning falling, and dark clouds gathered overhead.
Back with the group....
Inuyasha, the stubborn hanyou we all know and love, was currently stationed on a lonely tree branch high off the ground. His leg to the side, swinging to and fro, and his gaze staring at the gradually sinking sun. He was trying his best to wait patiently for the others to regain energy, but it was hard, in fact, the only reason he was patiently waiting was because of the fact that if he didn’t, the promise of a ‘sit’ would surely come.
The leaves rippled, the wind blowing a little more forcefully than before, and though not from the cool breeze, a chill ran up Inuyasha’s muscular back. His spine going rigid with apprehension, and his nose twitching slightly as the smell of human blood hit his canine senses. What the hell?! Why didn’t I notice this before? he questioned himself with utter rage that boiled deep within his veins. His face changed from one of annoyance to one of dread, his gaze solemn, yet angry all at once, and even though he tried to hide it, Kagome noticed it right away.
"Inuyasha, what is it?" Kagome asked the hanyou, truly concerned as to why his demeanor had changed so drastically without any good reason, or as far as she could tell.
"I smell blood, human blood. And damn there's a lot of it too,"said Inuyasha hypnotically, his eyes never turning to look at her, his face never turning away from the west, the area in which the smell was drifting from.
"He's right, as much as I hate to admit mutt-face is right about anything, I can smell it as well,"
Kouga replied as he stared to the west as well, his icy eyes clearly showing how much in angered him now at the pointless death.
"Very well then, shall we be on our way," Miroku said gravely, the rings on the staff jingling as he hoisted himself up off the hard ground, his body still slightly fatigued.
"Come Miroku, you will ride with me on Kirara, but keep those cursed hands of yours to
yourself, understand monk," Sango replied, her wary nature showing through as she watched him approach her, a stupid grin plastered on his handsome face.
"Of course Lady Sango, what makes you think I would do something like that," Miroku said
sweetly, though his eyes strayed to the curve of her hips, breasts, and buttox.
"Probably Miroku, it's because you are always trying to grope her," Kagome teased., enjoying the amount of arguing going on between the two. "Come on Shippo, you'll come with me."
"OK, Kagome," Shippo replied, cheekily smiling and skipping his way to Kagome’s side, the woman he considered to be his adoptive mother since the first day he had laid eyes on her form.
Kagome walked over to the stressed hanyou’s side, and sneaked a peek at him from the corner of her eye, trying to read the emotions playing out on his usually hard face. Though his body remained the same, angry at the world, and all, his eyes, the one thing that he could not hide, showed his true feelings, his heart, his soul. Deciding to let it go until they were alone, she crawled onto his offered back, Shippo on her shoulder.
At the village....
"Damn!" Kagome exclaimed, and Inuyasha, through all the blood and hate, smiled at this, her past was showing through at last.
Seeing the mayhem, Kagome quickly covered Shippo’s innocent eyes from the view that fell upon their sights, the massacre. Sliding off the hanyou’s back, Kagome stared wide-eyed at the despicable sight of human blood and flesh that was mutilated at the hands of something evil. A whining noise arose from her throat, her gaze shifting to Inuyasha for strength
"Inuyasha?" Kagome questioned, noticing the greenish pale skin hue that now adorned his usually tanned features.
"It can't be," Inuyasha whispered out, barely audible by Kagome’s normal human ears that didn’t have the power of a youki or hanyou’s.
"Can't be, what?" she asked, looking at his unreadable face, his stature completely unreadable as some thought worked it’s way through his mind.
"Shoobakin," Inuyasha breathed out with such hatred that it made her skin crawl with apprehension and her spin grow rigid with fear.

Chapter 1- A Village That is No More.
“Inuyasha! You baka! We’re taking a break right now!” Kagome screamed, enraged, how could someone be so insensitive. I mean, Sango was leaning on the back of Kirara, trying her best to not faint, her legs so numb she hadn’t felt the scratch she received from a thorn bush. Miroku, hadn’t tried anything with Sango for the last four hours, his lips were parted in exhaustion, and his legs wobbled as he was leaning on his staff. And then there was Shippo, who had curled up in her arms long ago, falling asleep almost instantly, ignoring the world that passed him by. In fact, the only ones who weren’t somewhat tired, were Kouga, Ayame, and Inuyasha, of course, that was only because of their youki heritage.By: CowgirlUSA
