Chapter 2
"You met THE Sesshoumaru and he's going to be OUR neighbor!" My brother,
Miroku, almost yelled.
"Yes! Will you quit yelling!" I answered covering my sensitive ears. "How can
you possibly listen to music so loud and still hear?"
"I'm special." He grinned.
"Yeah you are! Real special."
He glared at me but sighed. "ANYWAY, I was wondering why there was a
moving van next door carrying items in that cost more than my car alone. I knew
our neighbor might be rich but HIM."
"You sound like you admire him."
"Who wouldn't? At the age of 20, he gotten a masters at business and took
control of his father's company before it was he's time. He totally rocks! I heard that
he was good looking, is that true?"
Are you kidding? He's a freaking god made flesh! "He looks good."
"Man, I wish I would've went with you today!"
"HELLO, you were SUPPOSE TO!"
"Yeah but you know how Sango is. Once she get's an idea for fashion, I'm her
model."
"You WANT to be her model." Not to mention getting the benefit of getting
her alone so you can play.
"What can I say? She's a natural."
I rolled my eyes and walked to the kitchen to get something to eat. I opened
the refrigerator and took out an apple and bitten into it.
"I'm going to bed I need to get up early to accept that new engine that's
coming in for a customer." I walked into the room and closed my door. I finished
eating the apple, put it in my garbage bin and sat on my bed.
My mind went instantly to Sesshoumaru. Why did I react that way to him?
That was totally weird. I never reacted that way before. Even now, imagining how
his hair was blowing in the breeze was enough to make my heart beat faster.
"Something is not right." I exclaimed and went to take a shower and went to
bed.
I awoken the next morning at 5 am and stretched. I got up and ready for
work then went to the kitchen and ate a bowl of cereal. Miroku was still sleeping in
the bed. Can you guess which one of us wasn't a morning person?
I walked out the house and locked the door. As I walked down the driveway
to my car, I glanced at Sesshoumaru's house and seen that a group of cars were
parked in front of his house. Must've been a house warming party.
I smirked as I thought of Sesshoumaru laid flat out of his bed drunk. I giggled
a little then stopped as I seen his door open. He walked out in a navy blue housecoat
and breathed in the morning air. He looked at me and smiled.
"Good morning."
"Good morning."
"Where are you headed early in the morning?"
"Work. I have a delivery coming soon."
"A early bird. At least I'm not the only one."
"But I would think you'll be still asleep after all the company you had."
He looked out at he's driveway turned parking lot and laughed. "I invited
them over for business and things kind of gotten out of hand."
"Ah. Well anyway, I should be getting going. I'll see you later."
"Have a nice day at work."
I blushed. "Thanks." I never had someone tell me that before. I got in the car
and drove off. When I got to the garage, I went inside and went to the computer. I
confirmed that the delivery was coming today and typed up a receipt for the
customer. I lay back in the chair and, once again, my mind went to Sesshoumaru.
Ok, I'm thinking about this guy too much. I just met him for Christ sake's. The
phone rings and I almost fall out the chair to grab it.
"Hello. Kagome's Garage, how can I help you?"
"Hey it's me."
"Sesshoumaru?" What? Is this guy psychic or something?
"Yeah. I looked in the phone book and found your number. I was wondering if
you can take a look at a pac I mean friend's car. He said that it's been staling
lately."
"Yeah sure no prob. Tell him to come over around 8. That's when I'm open."
"Ok great. He'll be there on time."
"Ok. Bye."
"Bye."
I hung up the phone and stared at it. Ok, he almost slipped. He said pac.
What's that? Jeez, he wants to be mysterious around the wrong person. Everyone
around here knows I'm nosy as hell. Maybe I can get some info out of he's friend.
It was 8 o'clock when a 2004 Toyota pulled up. Punctual, I like. I walked out
in meet him and stopped. He was a inuyoukai as well. Hmmm... fishy or should I say
doggy. Anyway, I shook his hand.
"Kagome."
"Kai."
"What's been the problem?"
"Well, as Sesshoumaru said, it's been staling on me and I don't know why."
I walked to the car and knocked on the hood. "Pop the hood for me."
"Sure." He walked to the driver side and opened the door then leaned in and
the hood lifted.
I leaned in and took a look. I found the problem and told him what it was and
how much it would cost to fix it.
"That's no prob. When can it be ready?"
"Come back in two hours. I'm still fixing on another customer's car."
Just then a delivery truck pulled up. I signed the paper and told them where
to put it. Then I remember that I was suppose to interrogate, I mean ask him a
couple of questions.
"So how long have you known Sesshoumaru?"
"Since we were kids." He said leaning against the car I'm suppose to be
working on and looked around. "How long have you lived here?"
"All my life. Does Sesshoumaru have other friends?"
"A lot. What made you become a mechanic?"
Wait a minute. Don't tell me he's here to find out about me as well. Clever
Sesshoumaru but I'm good at playing games as well.
"Why don't Sesshoumaru come and talk to me himself to know me other than
sending someone else to do it?"
Kai smirked. "He's busy and I needed my car fix. Kill two birds with one
stone. Anyway, weren't you waiting for me to come to ask me about him?"
I frowned. "That's not the point."
Kai laughed and I was expecting to react but I didn't. Again weird.
"Listen, tell Sesshoumaru that if he wants to know me, to become unbusy."
He laughed again. "You're an interesting one but I'll relay the message." He
said as he got off the car and started walking to another one that just pulled up. "Cya
around." He got in and it drove off. I huffed and walked in the shop.
At closing time, I locked up the money that I gotten from the customer and
Kai in a safe. I locked the door behind me and drove home. Once I got inside, I saw a
message from Miroku saying that he'll be with Sango tonight. Player.
As I went to my room to change, there was a knock on the door. "Coming." I
answered. I opened the door and Sesshoumaru was standing on my porch.
"Um. Hello?" I said dumbly.
Sesshoumaru chuckled and I shivered. This is getting ridiculous!
"I became unbusy." He smirked.
"Oh! Um. Come in." I stood aside and he walked in with a grace like he was
walking on air. He sat on the conch and looked at me. I suddenly and stupidly notice
that I was still standing with the door open. I closed the door and sat in the recliner.
"My name is Sesshoumaru. I lived in Tokyo but now I moved here. I own a
lawyer firm and I have one brother. My father and mother died a long time ago. I
have many...friends." He gestured to me that it was my turn.
"Why do you want to know me? I have neighbors that I barely see and know
nothing about."
"It's good to know your surroundings and the people who surround you."
But something told me that he wouldn't be visiting the rest of the neighbors
to know about them.
"Ok fine. My name is Kagome aka Kag. I lived here all my life. I own a garage
called Kagome's Garage. One brother. My parents died as well. I have few friends."
"Any lovers?"
"Do you?"
He smirked. "No."
"Neither do I."
"Why do you hide yourself?"
I'm not surprised that he knew. After all, he could've gotten wind of me.
"To avoid trouble."
"The anti demon group? H.A.D.?
"Humans Against Demons, yes. I read what they did to the wolf demon. I like
to avoid trouble anyway I can." Even though, I didn't know it yet, I invited trouble to
sit and chat with me.
He nodded. "Let me see you in your real form."
My body tensed up. What the heck is that? I have an overwhelming urge to do
as he says. I gulped and breathed. He must know what he's doing to me.
"Why?" What are you doing to me?
"We're both Inuyoukai. I want to see what you look like. Now show me."
My shield fell away like it was stripped from my body. My hair changed to its
silvery tone and my eyes went from brown from gold. There are two strips of blue
on both my cheeks. I stood up in shock.
"What's going on? That's never happened before. Why am I reacting to you
and not Kai?"
He stared at me. "Because I'm alpha."
My eyes widened. That's why! Everything is making since. "So your friends
are actually your pack members."
"Yes." His look said of course but damn I haven't seen another one of my kind
before. How was I supposed to know?
I growled. "You came here to show your superiority right?"
"No. I came here to see you. If I was to show you my superiority, you would
be on your knees before me."

around in 20 years."
"So you came to grab territory."
