White Rose of Haige

Dark Seraph/Kenjo: Konnichiwa! This is my second fic! I hope you like it! It's just a short one-shot.

“Inuyasha, what's the problem? Why do you look so sad? Is it because of Kagome?” I asked him anxiously.

It was his face that hit me. It was full of sadness as if his world was shattered. I've never seen him like that before.

He looked at me and sighed.

“Why me? Where did I go wrong? I've already done my best just to make her love me.” He said with teary eyes.

I wondered what happened. The last time I saw them talk they were very happy.

I didn't even bother to disturb them because I know Inuyasha would not want me to.

I thought of how fast time flied. It was only three years ago when I knew how Inuyasha adored Kagome so much.

We were in our second year then and Kagome in her first year. We always saw her in our building walking along the hallways dashingly.

Actually, he's not just the one who was captured by her majestic beauty, but I guess everybody else.

She's every man's dream and the envy of the women. She's petite, beautiful and smart. She's a head turner. And like anybody who's been captivated by her grace.

Inuyasha would just end up daydreaming and saying, “I know it would never happen. She's up there and I'm just down here. She's ever the princess while I'm just the face in the crowd.”

And that went on and on until one day…

Kagome and I became friends. I just don't know when it started but maybe it was when we met in the magazine section of the library.

As always, I was sitting on my favorite chair and was reading my favorite magazine when she pulled the chair in front where I was seated and sat there.

Instantly, I searched for Inuyasha but I didn't find him, not even his shadow. So I just focused my attention again to what I was reading until Kagome offered me a chewing gum. I even turned my head to make sure if she was really giving it to me. And when I saw that there was no one except the both of us. I was left no option but to accept the gum.

And that was the start of our friendship. It was also a door of opportunity for Inuyasha to be introduced to Kagome.

When Kagome and I would talk, Inuyasha would always be there to accompany me and I would make sure that they would both have a heart-to-heart talk.

As I would see, they enjoyed each other's company. Inuyasha even told me that they were doing well. He's just looking for the right time to tell her how much he loved her.

And yesterday was the day he was anticipating. After Kagome and I talked for a while, Inuyasha arrived. And I, seeing the radiance in his face, just vanished into thin air.

I really wished Inuyasha the best. I knew how many sleepless nights he had spent to formulate the words that he would be telling to Kagome. I knew he could do it.

Then I came back to my thoughts and asked, “What happened, Inuyasha?”

He looked me in the eyes and said, “She didn't accept my love, Miroku. Somebody owned her heart already. She even said that she gave that bastard a white rose yesterday.”

And he started to cry. I was about to hug and comfort him when a classmate called us. It was time for our hydrology exam.

He wiped his tears and we went to our room together. Our teacher gave us fifteen minutes to review our lessons. I took my book from my bag and opened it and there I saw the white rose Kagome gave me yesterday.

I smiled.
