Who Do You Choose?
Who do you choose
To love and hold?
Who of the two
Is worthy?
The one who smiles
Or the one who laughs?
The one who dances
Or the one who sings?
She who stands
Arms open and welcoming?
Or she who shields you in her embrace?
She who waits, so calm and untouched?
Or she who lives
Accepting life's beatings?
They are one yet they are two
United and divided, together and apart
One soul, one heart, a pair of earthly shells
Coexisting yet never to meet
Who is real and who is not?
Are they both just mere illusions?
Or perhaps the point of intersection
Which links our realm to the world beyond?
The one who shatters
Or the one who bleeds?
The one who shows
Or the one who sees?
She who mocks each imperfection?
Or she who makes them fade away?
The question is mine
The choice, yours
The answer remains unknown
Will you search
Or will you hide?
If you ask
Who will answer?
