InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Willed to Be Loved ❯ Loving You ( Chapter 1 )
Kagome had loved him. And he had betrayed her. He always said that he would never harm her and she believed that. No, he'd never harmed her physically, but in her heart he might as well have stuck his mighty sword and end all the pain for her.
He had kissed Kikyo. She could see that as clearly as she could see her hands while they were right up in her face. She had trusted him with the care of her heart and he had shattered it.
She realized that was why she was standing in front of her bedroom mirror holding a small, yet deadly all the same, kitchen knife to her throat. If he wouldn't end her pain then she'd end it herself.
She couldn't compete with Kikyo while she was alive, and she probably couldn't compete with her while she was dead. But she knew she was just like Kikyo in one aspect. She was bound forever to walk the world as the living dead, just because she loved Inuyasha.
Kagome had wrote a note to her family explaining why she was doing this and had left it on the couch while they were out grocery shopping. And her note to Inuyasha was in her other hand. She fisted that hand tightly as she pressed the metal deeper into her skin.
She couldn't feel the pain that they said usually came when you slit her throat. She had a hanging suspicion that this was because all the pain was in her heart and she could feel it nowhere else. She slid the knife all the way across her throat, taking her life quickly.

Inuyasha smiled as he jumped into the well. He knew he shouldn't be so eager to see Kagome, after all she'd spied him with Kikyo, and probably even seen him kissing Kikyo.
But he'd apologize like always and Kagome would forgive and they would go back to the Feudal Era and continue the quest for jewel shards and to defeat Naraku.
But he had never expected the scent he caught when he landed in the well. It was the one scent he couldn't stand besides the smell of human tears. It was human death.
His horror took on a new height as the smell became stronger as he reached Kagome's room. He almost screamed as he saw what had happened.
Kagome lay on her floor, her eyes closed, and blood staining her carpet. The blood came from a long cut on her throat. Inuyasha noticed the bloodied up knife in her hand. His eyes took on a look of horror.
He saw the letter in Kagome's other hand. Gently he tugged it out and opened it, it was difficult to read due to the blood staining it but he was final able to read it.
Dear Inuyasha,
You're the first boy to ever hold my heart in his hands. Strange, huh? Especially with our beginnings. Yet I fell in love with you.
But Inuyasha you never cared for me, all you ever saw inside of me was Kikyo. I never wanted to be her replacement but if it meant I got to be with you I would gladly play the part.
Yet she came back for you. And I was robbed of even the part of having a small amount of your affection. We're alike Inuyasha. I, like her, am bound forever to this world by my love for you.
Good-bye Inuyasha, please understand the reason I made this choice.
"NO! I won't understand! If you love me so damned much why the hell did you leave me? Damn it, Kagome!" he shouted to the ceiling, his tears falling from his eyes.
He picked up the knife and stared at it for a long moment. He wanted to be with Kagome so badly, it was like that arrow was piercing his heart over and over again. But this time it was he who ended the pain.
Both were found dead on her bedroom floor, their blood mingling in an eternal bond that none could break. And yet Kagome and Inuyasha never saw each other. Their bond was not one of sight or touch. But one of love, they could always sense each other, no matter what!
