It was a simple curse. Death was always easy, a relief for the weary. Death is too good for her.
There were so many other things worse than death. But she needed a permanent solution for her rival. Better to have the one she loves taken from her, she thought as she sent the malediction toward the unsuspecting priestess.

Damn, that woman! My own spell reversed on me. Clutching her right eye, she ran from the meadow. Why am I not dead? She had felt the change in the curse as it ripped through her skin and filled the hollow behind her eye. What has she done to me?

Upon reaching her home, the first thing she reached for was her cherished mirror. On its surface she learned the nature of the curse inflicted upon her. Peering back was her soul’s true reflection, the wizened features of an old hag.
