-> Chapter One

Kagome crossed her legs when Inuyasha sniffed the air again, must have been the 100th time he did, too - Since yesterday.

Growling, the Hanyou stood to his feet, looking around. "Don't you smell that...?" He looked to her now, raising an eyebrow. She shook her head.

So, she lied. Of course she knew what he was smelling. It was her.

"It's blood. But I can't sopt where it's coming from, damnit..." He glanced to her again, sniffing the air around her. "Are you hurt?" He blinked in confusion.

Kagome bit her lower lip, turning it a nasty pale colour. "I gotta go."

And with that, she grabbed her over-sized yellow bag, throwing it down the well. "I'll be back in a week." And she was gone.

He blinked again, standing there dumbfounded.

"I dunno," Inuyasha shrugged carelessly as he watched the monk. "She stormed off when I asked her if she was hurt."

Miroku rubbed his chin thoughtfully as she dropped his staff, moving to sit near the hanyou. "Thats weird, wouldn't you say, Inuyasha?"

"No shit, thats why I'm asking you. Why'd she leave like that?"

"Well, why did you ask her if she was hurt?"

They were all seated in Kaede's small hut, listening to what Inuyasha had to say. Sango was avoiding the subject, of course. She was looking off into the distance, trying her best to ignore the men.

"Because I smelled blood."

Sango choked on the tea she was sipping, having a violent coughing attack. She placed a hand on her chest. While all eyes turned to her now.

Inuyasha raised an eyebrow, Miroku rushing to the girl's side.

"I don't get it..." Inuyasha mumbled, putting his hands in his sleeves as he pouted.

"K-Kagome had a good reason to leave! So don't run after her!" Sango slapped the hand that was slowly creaping it's way up her spine.

"How do you know? Did she tell you?" All eyes were turned towards Inuyasha again, except Sango's.

"I do believe I understand what she's saying..." Miroku placed his staff in his slap, a smug grin playing his lips. "Kagome's on her peri-"

He was cut off when his face was slammed into the hard wooden floor by a blushing Sango. "Cut the subject already! She had a test!"

"Oh."

Inuyasha stood up, picking up Tetsusaiga. He would look over them, giving them all weird looks as he did so. And he left, pushing the 'door' aside rather harshly as he always did.

He wasn't gonna sulk over he, no fucking way. Instead, he chose to laze around somewhere, since it didn't look like they'd be shard hunting anytime soon with the miko gone for a week.

His eyes glowed when he continued to stare into the setting sun. Of course, it didn't hurt him. That it didn't.

"Meh..'' He yawned quietly, choosing rest on a random rock he had spotted... So maybe it was pointless to wonder off? Not like he was looking for anything...

Kagome sat on her bed, starring out her window at the darkness.

She wanted to go back. There wasn't anything that she found interesting about the future anymore. But she couldn't. She couldn't go back and face Inuyasha.

'Oi, Kagome, whats that smell?'

'Oh, don't worry about that! I'm just on my period.'

Nope. No way in hell was she going back. He would just have to wait a couple days until it ended.

Stretching, she pulled the covers over her head, ready for the longest seven days of her life.

Meanwhile, in the past.

Miroku stared out the small window of the hut, sighing as if the world was ending. "I wonder where out dog eared friend has run off to.. Maybe we upset him?"

"No chance. He's probably sulking somewhere, knowing him." Sango shrugged lightly as she pull the small blanket over the sleeping kitsune.

"He's always like this when Kagome leaves, how can you even ask such a stupid question?"

"Well, excuuuuuse me!" Miroku rolled his eyes as a girl would do, moving to sit next to the door as he always did, when he was on gaurd.

Sango gave him that 'look' after she rolled her eyes at him, seriously wondering who was the most childish. Miroku. Or Inuyasha.

They both jumped slightly when a rather emotionless hanyou stomped in, sitting himself cross-legged across the hut.

Both taijiya and monk blinked dumbly at him, starring with opened mouth. "Are you okay, Inuyasha?"

But he hadn't answered. He closed his eyes, sleeping instantly.

Little did they know. That wasn't Inuyasha.

"Let the soul go." Kagura opened her fan, fanning herself lightly, even though it wan't that warm outside... Maybe she was use to doing it?

"Hai." Kanna nodded, letting the soul out of her mirror, just as she was instucted to.

It was all part of their wonderful plan to chase the young miko away, it was working perfectly, too.

Take over Inuyasha, lure Kikyou to the scene... Drag Inuyasha to Kikyou. Something would go on, surely. And of course, the young miko would follow the hanyou. She would witness what they would make Inuyasha do.

And she would run.

A/N: Ooo! Bonzai! I'm finsihed! Sorry about the evil cliffy... But it was SUCH a great idea, neh? >>;
