InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Xiao Yan Zi ❯ Xiao Yan Zi ( Chapter 1 )
[ A - All Readers ]
A/N: I'm on a plane, and I got bored again. So, here's a one-shot drabble for all you lucky people out there that get my `how to relieve my boredom' story.
This story is based on the Chinese song “Xiao Yan Zi <Small Sparrow>.”
Oh, and the warning for the fact that this story sucks is once again in play.
Enjoy!
Disclaimer: Some Chinese guy/girl owns the poem/song “Xiao Yangzhi.” I'll give you a hint; it's not me.

Inuyasha sat in his tree, mad as hell. Well, actually, he was sulking like hell, but he wouldn't tell the other campers that. After all, Kagome and him had just fought, so he should be angry, right?
Well, he would've been mad, if it weren't for Kagome leaving to her time, again.
Inuyasha sulked. `Why does she have to leave? I hate it when she leaves…I miss her scent.' He thought. `Besides, it's never as cheerful when she leaves…although, that may be because everyone hates me for `making' her leave…nah. That's not why…it's probably because she selfishly took her cheerful mood with her…why can't she just at least leave that here with us so that Miroku, Sango, and that brat don't try to beat me up (not that they can)?! Geez…'
He sighed at the thought of her cheerfulness. `I suppose that's a reason why I tolerate her…' He suddenly whipped his head around, looking around for any spectators. As if they could read his thoughts…
`Okay…so maybe I like her more than just toleration…fine! I love her! Happy?!' He asked himself, then looked around again, wary of the birds on the tree next door that were chirping.
“Who are YOU laughing at?! HUH?! SHOO!” He yelled, causing the birds to glare at him and fly away. Inuyasha huffed. “Better.”
`Besides, she's kinda hard not to love, and she certainly doesn't make it easier, with her cheerfulness (though that does get annoying when I want to sulk…) and loving nature.' A picture of her smile and her cuddling Shippou popped into his mind, causing him to smile before scowling, shooing the pictures away.
Inuyasha sighed. Another reason why he absolutely hated Kagome leaving is because, he grudgingly admitted, he was…afraid that she may never come back.
Yes, it was true. The brave and almighty hanyou Inuyasha was afraid of such a small thing.
`But it's not small to me! God…if Kagome left for good…' He thought sadly, his fact turning into a sad frown. `Hell, I'm surprised she's still here…well, not here here, but…whatever. And that's pretty good. I mean, if I were Kagome, I'd have left and never come back if I'd had to deal with me!' He thought, not realizing he had just insulted himself.

Kagome returned that night, jumping out of the well a little while after the sun had set.
“…Kagome?” The girl whipped her head around, and found Inuyasha as the source of the sound.
“Yea?”
“…Why do you keep coming back?” Kagome scrunched up her face in confusion, not knowing what he meant. Inuyasha, understanding, asked it differently.
“After all this time, me harassing you, the search for the shards, after everything, why do you keep coming back to me-us…here?”
Kagome smiled, “Because, life with you is much sweeter.”

A/N: Yay! My first drabble! 500 words on the dot. Not including A/N's, of course.
My ear hurts. I just got it pierced yesterday, so now it's throbbing. I don't think it likes planes much…
Yea…well, because not everyone knows Chinese, here's the translation for the poem.
<The small sparrow,
wears a flower coat.
Every spring it comes here.
I asked it `why do you come?'
The sparrow replied
`This place's spring is all the more beautiful.'
