EPILOGUE:
TAKES PLACE 10 YEARS LATER………
Kagome ran through the field with her daughters, Hoshi and Sakura. They were beautiful inu youkai, both resembling their mother and father all the same. Silver hair, and pale blue eyes. Sakura’s hair was longer, and strait, going to her waist, where Sakura’s was short and curly, just above her shoulder blades. Both children had dark blue stripes on their cheeks and a navy cresent moon adorning their for heads.
Hoshi was older of the two girls, 3 years to be exact. Hoshi was the first-born child, and the new heir to the throne of the western lands, although they were all princesses. Between the two girls, were two young boys. They seemed to resemble Kagome more then their father though.
Each of them having long, silver, blue hair and icy blue ices. Although the elder one, Nishi, had magenta markings, his younger brother Kisho’s markings were navy blue as their cresent moons. Each of the children had their own tail, each matching the color of their hair.
Nishi had picked up on the arrongence of his father and usually tried his hardest to be just like the taiyoukai, while the other children were carefree and happy.
Sango and Miroku were blessed with a beautiful baby girl and two healthy boys. Aki, who had been born in the autumn, was their first child, and a master groper when it came to girls. Miroku was always the one blamed, although he continuously blamed it on his genes. Amaya was second, she looked dead on sango and was always by her mother’s side. The last, child was Chikako, he was a mama’s boy just as his elder sister.
Shippo had mated with Akane a year ago, on her 15th birthday. They were both ecstatic to hear the news. They’d been in love for some time before that, sneaking off together in the middle of the night, things like that. Akane was due to have her first pup in about one month’s time and couldn’t wait to see her baby.
Shippo stayed in the castle with his ‘parents’ Kagome and Sesshomaru. He was a prince after all. Akane stayed with him as well, but after the baby arrived, they were planning to move to a nearby village and get together with Akane’s family as well.
Rin and Kohaku lived together in Kaede’s village, nearby Sango and Miroku. They were married now, and had a young daughter about 2 years old. Her name was Hotaru. She had long, ebony hair, and cinnamon eyes to match her mother’s.
Sesshomaru went in to hysterics when he found out about Rin, but he got over it with the help of Kagome. He still didn’t want to let go, but he needed to. A father can’t hold on forever, especially if his daughter isn’t of his species. But something made him happy, and that something, was Rin’s happiness.
Souta still went off for months at a time, his main goal in life was to train hard and become an expert, and he was. Ever since he was 8, he’d gone off and it seemed her was with an old man who never told his name. Souta was taught amazing combat skills from the old man, which came in handy even more when he became a youkai.
10 years ago, Kagome made her wish for everyone’s happiness, and Souta’s happiness seemed to come from being a youkai, so sine then, that’s what he’s been. Inu Youkai, just like his brother-in-law. Sango’s and Miroku’s happiness seemed to come from simply being part of a happy family, around people they loved and cared for deeply.
Inuyasha had mated with Akki four years ago. It had taken them a lot before they were sure they were ready, and now they were happy as can be with a pup along the way. Everything was going well for the two of them, and they seemed to think that nothing could be better then what they shared.
(now for what all have most likely been wondering)
The well was rebuilt about a month after the shikon was replaced in to its rightful owner, but neither Kagome or Souta had the courage to go through it again. Plans were to live 500 years and wait for the ‘new’ Kagome to go through what she did, Souta as well and once they were sure that they wouldn’t come back, Kagome and Souta would go and tell their parents that all would be fine and explain what had been happening the whole time.
Really, it would be just like talking to their mom, because she’s the same person, everything would be the same, just kind of different you could say.
Souta wanted to see his family again, but Kagome seemingly never forgot to remind him not to go. She wanted everything to turn out alright, not the chance that someone from the future could see them if they went back. To be ruined. She herself was having a hard time letting go, but knew that it was for the best that she did.
Besides, they weren’t yet sure if Kagome’s magic worked or not. Kaede had said that the well was more powerful then before, and that most likely could transport anyone through it. But the problem was, would fate allow them to come back now that their role in the past had been played out? No body wanted to answer that question.
Although she didn’t think that fate would stick her in the future after all she did to save it from Naraku. Still, it was not a risk worth taking. Waiting 500 years for Sesshomaru was not an option. She would go crazy in that amount of time without her mate.
No one had heard from either Kagura or Kanna since the death of their master, but they had heard of a wind sorceress marrying the northern lord some time ago and vaguely wondered if Kagura had found her happiness in Haposai. (The northern lord)
Souta hadn’t found anyone he liked yet, but that was the last thing on the boy’s mind. All he cared for was his work, everyone doubted it would be that way for long. A young neko youkai had her eye on him for a while now. No one knew who she was, but they would see her watching him from a distance whenever she would cross paths with him.
She had emerald hair to her middle back, but she never got close enough to show her eyes, and when she was she would keep them downcast. She was very slim though, curvaceous in all the right places, medium height, and pale skin. She was very pretty.
“Hoshi.” Kagome called, running after her daughter. The little girl turned around, her hair flying around her as she looked to her mother. Kagome smiled and gestured for her to come to her.
“What is it mommy?” she asked. Kagome smiled warmly at her daughter, grabbing her hand as she turned to walk back to the castle. “Is it time to eat?” Kagome nodded her head and continued walking to where Sakura sat under a tree, motioning for her to return to the castle as well. She merely nodded her head, and ran for the entrance.
When Kagome and Hoshi got to the dining room, Sesshomaru sat at the head of the table, looking very disgruntled with Nishi and Kisho running in circles around the table trying to catch one another. Kagome laughed as she saw Sesshomaru’s eyes twitched when Nishi grabbed his tail for protection.
Realizing that he was on the verge of a terrifying release of his anger, she called the boys to have a seat as the girls took theirs and she took her own next to Sesshomaru. Just then the servants brought in dinner and the meal began.
It was silent, aside from the girls occasionally telling the boys how disgusting it was to watch tem eat, and Kagome breaking the argument. Once done, they got up and left their plates for the servants, the kids heading outside and the adults for the study.
Kagome sat in the chair as Sesshomaru did his paperwork, seemingly lost in thought when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She almost died of fright, jumping out of her seat, she turned to see Sesshomaru and calmed, glaring heatedly at him.
“What’s the look for koi? I thought you were always prepared.” Kagome ‘hmphed’ and walked toward their room. Sesshomaru shook his head and followed his mate. When he entered the room, Kagome was already laying down. He told Jaken to make sure the children get to bed okay.
Then, he lay in bed next to Kagome, wrapping his arms around her, he pulled her close and whispered ‘I love you’ in to her ear. Kagome smiled and kissed him tenderly on his lips. “I love you too Sesshy.” She whispered, then fell asleep in his warm embrace.
“I love you Kagome, with all my heart, and I can’t be happier that you love me as well.”
Kagome moaned in her sleep, then closing his eyes, he fell asleep as well, letting dreams of her fill his awaiting mind.
And that’s the end
