When Chaos Knocks..

Ryak strode into the library and walked right up to Tallest Sera, he was about to tell her where she could stick it when the guards seized him.

“You… What did you do?” Tallest Sera asked. He could tell she knew from his expression what he had done.

“I told him everything, he won’t come to you,” Ryak replied grimacing at her.

“You insolent little wretch!” she growled at him. “I thought you wanted to live? What could poss...” the Tallest paused before a grin creased her face. “I get it now, The little human female, she must be fertile and you… You must be compatible with her.” His antennae flattened to his head as the Tallest spoke. This female was smart, smarter than him. Ugh... he should have went into hiding or something. How could he be so stupid? “And she…?”

“She feels sorry for me,” Ryak responded. “She would never choose me over her brother.” Ryak knew that with such certainty there was no doubt she cared more about her family than she did for him.

“Pity, I was starting to see some worth in you,” Tallest Sera replied coldly. Ryak readied himself for what was to come, there was no rescue party, no Gaz, and no one to see his final moments but he was ready for it. He would do anything to keep Gaz safe even it meant dying here and now.

Gaz was yelling as Zim entered the cloistral chamber. “You let him go ALONE? Are you CRAZY? She’ll kill him!”

“If I would have went with him I’d be captured,” Dib yelled just as loud.

“It’s all your fault you stupid jerk, let me go so I can save him!” Gaz yelled, Zim walked in confused as she saw Gaz fighting to get out of Dibs grip. She could already see blood dripping down Dib’s cheek from one of her swings. Mascara was running down Gaz’s face.

“What’s going on?” Zim yelled at the pair.

“The zooter Ryak is going up against Tallest Sera ALONE,” Gaz responded. Zim’s antennae wriggled at this.

“Where?” Zim asked.

“The library,” Dib replied. Zim grabbed a hold of them both and practically dragged them out of the cloistral chamber, a few handmaidens also helped. It wasn’t long before the siblings broke apart and followed of their own free will. Zim didn’t want to take any chances, Gaz was her best friend and she couldn’t allow that friend to shed another tear. They had to get to the Library in time.. they just had to. Gaz picked up the pace nearly passing Zim as they arrived. She kicked the library door and it slid up and out of the way. Ryak was being held by his throat by Tallest Sera, Gaz saw red and charged knocking out three of the guards before giving the tallest a heavy right hook, knocking her into the nearest bookshelf.

“Keep your hands off of him,” Gaz yelled at her, ready to have it out with the former princess.

“So, you do care about that worthless zooter after all,” Tallest Sera grinned. “Guards!!”

“Oh no you don’t,” Zim replied, waving her antennae. Tallest Sera screamed as though in agony and stood up.

“You will regret this,” Tallest Sera promised. A crazed grin spread across her face as she uttered the next words, “Sooner than you think.” She pressed a button on her PAK and shifted slightly as though she were going between space.

“What the..?” Gaz yelled as the Tallest disappeared. “Was that teleportation?” Zim shrugged, she had no idea. Gaz shook herself before carefully picking up Ryak, she felt for a pulse but remembered that Irken biology was different. Zim walked up and placed her hand in front of the zooters face before smiling.

“He’s just unconscious,” Zim replied. “Guess, you both should stay in the cloistral chamber where it’s safe.” Gaz nodded, she needed to make sure the little guy made it back but before that. She shifted through the books to find the book he had drawn in, she knew it was his book and had to make sure that he could have it when he awoke. Gaz carried him all the way back to the cloistral chamber but something was off when they arrived. The cloistral chamber was open and several handmaidens were lying in the main area, it was obvious they had been beaten. Zim panicked, she checked each one to make sure they were still alive before she entered the cloistral chamber. Gaz too rushed in only to find the cribs empty. One of the handmaidens raised her hand, Zim instantly moved to her side and listened.

“Where are the kids?” Dib asked, angrily.

“She says they’re safe,” Zim replied. “They were whisked away during the attack.” Zim stood letting the handmaiden fall into unconsciousness. Zim yelled and Gaz could feel an electric tingle in the air almost as though Zim’s rage were sending these signals out. Then she heard something else, many feet were traveling toward them, she spotted purple who seemed to be transfixed by Zim. All the Irkens seemed to be as they crowded around the chamber, she wondered if Zim had bonded with the entire ship.

“How did you do that?” Gaz asked. Zim collapsed forward breathing heavily.

“I don’t... know,” Zim replied between gasps. Gaz watched as Dib carried Zim away and all the Irkens seemed to dissipate, save the soldiers who decided to post themselves around and inside the cloistral chamber. Gaz decided to take Ryak to her room and laid him down on the bed. She then sat beside him and waited for him to recover, she seriously hoped he would, she had so much to tell him. She held his hand and felt a squeeze, then she saw the bruise forming from where the Tallest had grabbed him.

“That was so stupid,” Gaz said. “Don’t ever do that again, idiot.” She heard her name on his lips but it was so soft she barely heard it.

Zim glared all around her, that Sera princess or no she wasn’t going to get away with trying to kidnap her smeets. Or for trying to hurt Gaz, she wouldn’t let it stand. This was it she had to bond with the remaining Irkens who were off ship, it was the only way. Tallest purple entered then, he still had a bit of a dazed look about him as though he were seeing her for the first time. There was no time to dwell on it though as she had need for him to make some calls. “Call all the Irkens back even the ones from snacktopia, immediately.”

“It shall be, my queen,” he replied, happily. Zim frowned at this and just before he left to complete his task she also added.

“You can be yourself,” Zim blurted out. The Tallest seemed to snap out of his trance.

“Whoa, that was weird,” Tallest Purple said before turning around. “You sure you want ALL the Irkens?”

“Yes,” Zim replied.

“I will try but the great foodening is going on,” Tallest Purple sputtered. Zim glared at him. “Okay okay, I will try.”

It was two days before all the Irkens found themselves gathered in the great assembly of their home planet. Zim waited back stage, she had finally recovered from whatever she had done before and now she was about to do that all over again only on a larger scale. She bit her lip hoping she could do it. Tallest Purple and Tallest red were on stage speaking to them when Tallest Purple suddenly announced her. Tallest Red looked appalled and turned a lighter shade as Zim strode out onto stage looking much taller than the Tallest themselves. Tallest Red glared at her unhappily, she ignored him and addressed her subjects.

“Hello fellow Irkens, I am your queen,” Zim replied. She heard a boo and glared at them. She then decided to go for it, she wriggled her antennae but something was blocking her, she recognized this block. She had beaten it only days prior so it had to be the bond of Tallest Sera. Zim ground her teeth and swung her antennae forward bursting through the meager bond, shattering it as she did and felt the bonds all shift to her. She heard a great cheer rise up from the Irkens present and grinned allowing her antennae to swing back behind her. “As I was saying...”

“Queen Zim,” They all began to chant.

“Quiet,” Zim said loud enough to be heard. The chant petered out and they listened intently. “As I was saying, I am your Queen but you say still abide the Tallest, Tallest Red and Tallest Purple. If you see or hear of another Tallest, you are to bring them to me directly.” She looked back to see the stunned look on Tallest Red’s face his antennae were drooped and his eyes were full of goo.

“We can stay in charge?” Tallest Red asked as the crowd cheered.

“Yeah, I’m queen, I’m going to be busy enough making smeets,” Zim lied. She was actually going to have her hands full searching for Tallest Sera and ordering the soldiers to protect her smeets. But she didn’t need to tell them that.

“Oh, right.. I knew that,” Tallest Red replied, looking away sheepishly. She could tell he was just happy he could keep his job, after all, it was the only one he was good at. The same went for Purple.

“I thought you guys were going home,” Tallest Purple asked.

“We will, when we figure out how to solve, the queen problem,” Zim replied irritated. “I suspect we will need to either leave a smeet here with a zooter or something but we need to do some experiments first. Or fix Sera and her attitude.” Zim grumbled. “Anyway they’re all yours have fun and don’t touch earth. It’s miiine!” They visibly gulped and nodded before stepping back up. Zim carefully made her way backstage, she felt weak and felt as though she would be sick. Once out of sight she collapsed into Dib’s arms but thankfully didn’t lose her lunch, she needed rest, the bonding took nearly everything she had and with so many Irkens. She sighed as Dib easily lifted her in his strong arms and with their entourage of handmaidens made their way back to the cloistral chamber. A few soldiers even accompanied them. Once there she ordered a hunt for Tallest Sera immediately but kept most of the soldiers in and around the cloistral chamber, she didn’t want any more surprises. Zim completely passed out when her head hit the pillow inside her and Dib’s room.

Ryak slowly opened his eyes, he was hooked up to a life sustaining system through his PAK. It was something that gave him fluids and all the nutrients needed to keep him alive. He sat up briefly noting that Gaz was sound asleep beside him. He frowned as he remembered how she had come to his rescue and his eyes filled with goo. Why would she want to save him? He wasn’t nearly as important as her brother, was he? He gently moved the hair from her face revealing the streaks from her makeup. Ryak stared in awe, he’d never seen such lines before, she was still pretty but he didn’t want to see her streak her face.

“Gaz,” he whispered. She shifted and rubbed her eyes.

“Ryak?” she asked sitting up. She suddenly grabbed him in a tight hug. “You idiot, don’t ever do anything like that again.” Ryak was shocked by this but held her in return, slightly uncertain as she squeezed him strongly. When she let him go, he saw some kind of glass like liquid running down her face. He wiped it away and ignored the pain from it, it wasn’t a bad sort of pain just a fizzy kind of pain. He looked at his skin something in that liquid had reacted with his skin but he didn’t care.

“Don’t leak, I won’t do anything like that again, if it makes you leak,” Ryak replied.

“I’m not… leaking you idiot. I’m… crying,” Gaz replied as more liquid spilled down her face. Ryak pulled her into his arms and held her, he didn’t know what else to do so he let her cry on him. He ignored the slight discomfort as she soaked the gown he was put into. He wondered if all hyumans leaked when they were upset. It was very new to him but he knew that what she was feeling now, she shouldn’t have to feel. Ryak knew he messed up and he would do anything to make it right. “We’re gunna save you,” Gaz said with a sniffle. He was shocked by her statement, she pulled away then drying her face. “I thought I was going to lose you, I can’t go through that again.” It was his turn to be sad, he felt goo fill his eyes, no one had ever said something like that to him before. He didn’t know how to feel or how he should feel but it was impossible right? He couldn’t be saved.

“But...It said there wasn’t any way,” Ryak stated.

“It says you need to mate,” Gaz said. “I’m a human. Humans, unlike Irkens, are all fertile..” Gaz blushed. “So if there is no other option.. then.. I’ll..” He felt his face grow warm and he was filled with an overwhelming feeling he couldn’t describe. Was she saying that if nothing else works, that she would mate with him? To save his life?

“It’s ok..” Ryak interrupted, as she seemed to be having a hard time saying it. “You don’t have to say anything.. I have some time left. I did some research so you don’t have to make any decisions right now.”

“Some time isn’t a lot,” Gaz replied. “Besides I.. want to.” He stared at her shocked, he almost thought he hadn’t heard correctly. She wanted to..? to mate with him? Her face was turning a bright red which made her look even prettier. “Look if we don’t do it over the next couple of days it will be past the time, human women only come into.. um season... once a month.” Ryak in took her scent and came back feeling a little high from it. It was almost like he could tell she was almost ready, something about her scent sent chills down his spine.

“I’m sure we can wait a day or two?” he asked. He didn’t want to rush their bond, especially when it wasn’t quite time yet.

“You’re probably right,” Gaz said. “But don’t expect me to change my mind, idiot.” He smiled at her, she was definitely something else. He could see himself spending the rest of their days together and where she went he would go too. “I’m gunna get my idiot brother, just to see if there are any other options.” He watched her as she left but he was sad when she was no longer in his sight. Ryak peered to the stand that had been beside the chair she had been sitting on to spot his journal. He was touched that she remembered it as he opened and flipped through the pages. He wondered if she had read any of it. His fingers paused on his horribly drawn swan and smiled.
