Disclaimer: I don't own Invader Zim. I only own Smip and my RP partner owns Kwe.

A/N: This isn't really a story in the general sense. This is a reformatted and edited log of an original RP set into the IZ world. Smip is Dib and Zim's son, an original character I created in a ZADR comic. Some people just wanted to know more about our characters, so I'm putting up the story for them.

~~~~~~~~~~~
It started as yet another typical day in the city. Nothing seemed to be overly special about that day sitting there in the Hi Skool. Students milled around talking in their first period classes, chatting, flirting, sleeping.. the normal things. One of the more unique of the seniors sat at his desk scribbling into a notebook and looking rather bored.
And why was he unique? Well, having green skin, antennae, no ears, no nose tended to have one stick out from the rest of the crowd. It caused plenty of problems for him growing up, but over the years, his classmates seemed to be used to it. Though, he was still only slightly more popular than his parents ever were while in school. It was also his parents that were often the cause of his inability to keep a friend for very long. After all, one parent was still labeled 'weird' for his love of the paranormal and his other parent.. well.. had a nasty habit of getting rather trigger-happy when it came to protecting their son from anything.
Smip tries to stifle a yawn from behind his hand, feeling as lethargic as the rest of the student body seemed to be this morning. The bell finally rings to begin the day and their teacher, Ms. Bitters, slinks out of the shadows to stand at her desk in that eerie way she has always done since the beginning of time.
"Class, today we're getting a new hopeless student. His name is, Kwe."
She narrowed her bespectacled eyes at the doorway after her simple introduction, waiting for the new body to drag itself through. And honestly, what was with all these students and their strange names?
After a beat, the named boy appeared, looking like any other normal human student. He took a moment to survey the classroom population with his green eyes.
"Hello, my fellow humans, I am..." he trails off however when he locked onto Smip. Sending a glare in his direction, he faked a cough and continued as if he hadn't paused, "I'm Kwe and I'm glad to be here."
Introduction aside, he looked to Ms. Bitters for a seating assignment. She growls a little, pointing an aged hand toward one of the empty desks beside Smip.
"Sit there and be quiet!" she barked in finality.
Kwe wasted no time in hurrying over to the empty chair, glad to be away from the teacher, but he focused an angry glare upon Smip the entire time. But, behind the anger lay curiosity.
The other boy blinks, his antenna perking slightly from the look of hostility he receives from this new student. He's well used to getting looks from new people because of his features, but what struck him as odd was how Kwe spoke. It sounded familiar to how his mother (in the biological sense), Zim, liked to talk.
It was intriguing especially since Zim was the only Irken Smip had ever heard speak like that. Even the Tallests, who he had overheard transmissions from, had not spoken in such a way.
He watched Kwe take a seat beside him, still glaring, before the boy pulled out a book to bury his face in. Giving a shrug, Smip gets out his notes for class, completely unaware that there is a pair of green eyes peeping over at him occasionally.
----------------------------------
Later in the day, it was the first bit of freedom that the students could look forward to as they filed into the cafeteria like animals to the slaughter. Smip, however, never had to fight the crowds of the lunch line since he never ate anything they tried to pass as food there. His mother would never allow such 'disgusting human filth' to enter his body.
He slings off his backpack into one of the chairs and gets out his paper bag lunch to eat. And advantage of having half-human DNA allowed him to tolerate Earth food, unlike Zim. Looking up, he notices Kwe walk in, but he's reluctant to wave him over because of the earlier glare. After watching for a few moments, he sees the boy is being ignored by everyone else in the cafeteria though, so he sets down his sandwich and motions Kwe closer.
"You can come sit with me if you'd like."
The raven-haired boy seemed to consider the offer as he stood there before finally sitting down in an empty chair... a good 4 feet away.
The general roar of background noise around them continued for a few moments, so Smip picks up his sandwich again and took another bite.
Kwe surprises him however as he whispers just loud enough for Smip to hear, "... So it's true then?... You're the offspring of Zim and that human?" He glares once again, "My mother has instructed me that I'm to be your most feared enemy if we were ever to meet."
The half Irken nearly chokes in mid swallow when Kwe, the supposedly brand new student, knows his parents. He put down the food and reaches for his drink to start gulping it down, trying to dislodge the foodstuffs in his windpipe before he coughs, eyes watering slightly.
".. Your *cough*.. Your mother?.."
He wasn't aware of any other Irkens that would possibly be close to Earth. Kwe blinked in return.
"Surely your.. 'mother' has told you of Tak?" The slight squeakiness of the boy's voice gave a humorous offset to his try for an intimidating stance while he sizes Smip up carefully. "... You don't really like a huge threat though..."
Tak. The name sounded a little familiar, but Smip couldn't remember exactly why. He never saw any pictures of Tak, so he didn't know what she looked like, but he starts to remember what he heard about her. Smip blinked in confusion before focusing on Kwe in interest, his antennae perking.
"Tak? Really? My parents have mentioned her before, but not much." A pout comes to his face though as his 'threat' possibility is questioned, "Well, I don't want to fight with you or anything. So, I don't see why you have to be an enemy."
The other considered this carefully, clearly thinking about it before replying with a shrug, "Eh, me either.. Wanna be friends until we figure out a reason to be enemies then?"
Smip brightens up, smiling happily, "Sure!"
Now that he's up close and face to face with Kwe, he honestly thought he was rather cute as a human. Kwe took his outstretched hand to shake it happily and a cute smile broke across his face before he sits back down in his chair. They both scoot closer together so they can talk with one other more easily in their nice growing friendship.
"So, what's your name then?" Kwe asks.
"My name's Smip.. So, how come you're here? My dads said that Tak left a long time ago from Earth. But, I guess this means that she's back.. or at least she's come by, if you're here now.. Is this your first time here?
"Oh, no no, I grew up here. Momma finally decided that I was old enough to start infiltrating the humans on my own, try to take over my first planet and all... And she's been here this whole time, plotting revenge on Zim.. Well.. At least that's what she says. After I was born, she kind of lost track of what she was doing I think," Kwe speaks casually, as if it were nothing while he looked over at Smip's food.
The half Irken finished off his sandwich and pulled out a bag of chips when he catches Kwe staring at the food. He offers the chips with a smile.
"Here, these shouldn't hurt you. My dad, Zim, can eat them and it doesn't seem to bother him too much."
Taking another for himself, he pops the chip into his mouth and crunches on it. After swallowing and taking a sip of his drink, he carefully ponders how to ask his next question.
"... So.. If Tak is your mother... um.. Who is your father? You said you've been here all along, so, is your dad a human too?"
Kwe looked insulted as he shouted, "No!", then tries to cover up his outburst after seeing Smip jump in surprise. He had a dislike for humans, just as his mother had taught him.
"I mean, no.. um.. My father was the great Invader Skooge. They met while in space and um, yeah.. my mother came back to Earth not knowing I was with her."
The green-eyed boy looked a bit embarrassed now and took a chip, which he ate casually. He had never tried human food before and was curious.
".. Sorry if I sounded a bit.. um, yeah.. My mother always told me bad things about humans and all.. You seem nice though."
Smip looks a bit sheepish himself after Kwe calms down, but gets a silly little grin on his face at the mention of who Kwe's father is. He has seen Skooge before, and what he's heard about Skooge and what he's heard about Tak.. it seems a little humorous to him. Smip doesn't say anything however and waves his had to show he isn't offended by the shout.
"Don't worry. Both of my parents talk about how stupid humans are sometimes.. and you already know that one of my dads is a human himself!" he chuckles.
Kwe smiles again and calms down more, "Oh, hehe, thank goodness then..." He paused for a beat, "So.. ummm... what kind of stuff do you like?"
It was so hard to find words with a new friend and the awkwardness was becoming apparent now as they talked. Smip tore open the bag of chips so they could share more easily, though he let his friend have the most since he knew there were extra snacks in his bag. He always had them, thanks to Zim's overly motherly concern. He reaches into his bag to pull out a package of Twinkies that he munched on contentedly, a few little crumbs sticking around his face as he chews.
Smip shrugged, "Eh, you know. I like a lot of typical human teen stuff, like music and whatever. But I like sneaking off in my dad's Voot Cruiser to see stuff in outer space. It's so cool to be out there sometimes... Hey! You know what? I think we may even have your mom's old ship still!"
Kwe seems to be distracted by the chips as he eats them by the handful, "Hmm? What? Voot? Well, voot is very tasty. Nothing like what my mother gives me."
Luckily, he didn't seem to hear the part about having ships or he would have to tell his mother and that would cause her to attack Zim and a big plot point would happen that wouldn't be based off Smip and Kwe, causing the writers to lose focus on the yaoi love smut that is to happen. (lulz)
Smip tilts his head cutely, giving a confused smile, but just lets it drop, "O.. kay.. Um, so what do you like to do then?"
He reaches into his bag to pull out a purely Irken snack and takes one of the sticks, sucking on it while he places the rest in front of his new friend to have for lunch. The disguised Irken seems amazed by this as well.
"This is really good. Can you just.. buy this? Or do you require, like a.. food pass of some kind?" His emerald eyes and ebony hair almost sparkle in the cafeteria light. "I.. haven't done much research on human customs and such. Mostly just physical training.. and stealth.. weapons design.. You know, odds and ends. What kind of things have you studied to help you take over Earth?"
"Yeah, it is good, huh? My dad gets it. I think he orders it from Callnowia.."
Smip smiles as he looked over Kwe's disguise, a dreamy little twinkling in the back of his eyes if one looked close enough. The mention of taking over Earth snaps him back to the present and he shakes his head a moment to clear his thoughts.
".. Uh.. studied?.. To take over Earth?.."
In all honesty, he hasn't done a single thing. Zim has tried to develop a few things, but Dib stops him rather quickly since they live in the same house and all.
He looks sheepish now, "Um.. I, uh.. I haven't?"
"Ah, I see. Hrm.. Well, if I manage to do so, I'll make sure to spare you and your family.. Can we go outside? The air is very.. meaty.. in here." Kwe wiggles in his seat, stretching out and looking up at the lights, then towards the window.
Another little grin comes to Smip's face knowing that he'll be spared.
"Sure, let me just get rid of this stuff first."
He feels like going outside too actually because the sun feel so nice on his skin. He gathers up their trash to dispose of in a nearby trashcan.
Kwe comments casually, ".. I like your skin... It's different.. not quite human and not quite Irken..."
Thank Irk he happened to be turned around towards the garbage right then because Smip's antennae perk and a soft hue of purple, an Irken blush, comes to his face at the compliment. He even feels his squeedilyspooch do a little flip in response.
"Yes, let's go then," comes Kwe's squeaky voice again.
He catches the blush, to which blinks slightly in confusion, but finds his own squeedilyspooch feeling funny in response. He bites at his lower lip to snap himself out of it, trying to stay strong and controlling as invaders should.. Yet, he still feels funny.
Smip gives a little cough and nods, quickly tossing the trash and heading out the door with his friend. It's a beautiful day outside and most of the lunch crowd has wandered out here to take advantage of it. Smip leads them to a grassy spot on a small hill and sits down, leaning back and lifting his face to the sky. He closes his eyes, smiling and letting the warmth wash over him.
"Ya know.. Sometimes it makes me wonder what it's like back on Irk since I've never been there. My Dad, Zim, told me he was only on the surface once when he was young, but he doesn't really remember what it looked like."
"I've seen pictures of what it's supposed to look like. It's okay, nice and purple. It's a lot easier on the eyes than Earth... I'll show you if you'd like to come over.. Though, with my mother knowing of you and saying we should be enemies, that may not be the best idea."
Kwe lays back, looking up at the clouds and into the sun until his eyes start to slowly grow black and burn out.
A frown creases Smip's brown and he nods slowly, antennae low and hanging limply to let his piercings swing freely, ".. Yeah.. that probably wouldn't be good..."
When he hears an odd noise, he looks over in time to cringe in horrible shock at his friend's bubbling eyes.
"Holy shit!!"
Reacting on purely human instinct, something he inherited from Dib, Smip leaps over Kwe, covering him with his body as if he were shielding him from a grenade in the war. His outburst draws a few heads that only keep staring as they see two boys writhing on top of one another in the middle of the school grounds.
"AH!! What are you doing?!"
Kwe struggles only to suddenly realize he has gone blind and begins to panic accordingly.
"BLIND!! YOU'VE BLINDED ME! MY MOTHER WAS RIGHT!!"
After struggling out from under Smip, he runs off screaming, his arms flailing wildly only to run smack into a light pole and knock himself out cold.
Smip, who is practically shoved off, falls into a tangled heap of his own limbs and watches Kwe run off screaming. He gasps, getting ready to yell for Kwe to stop, but it's too late. It seems to happen in slow motion as the other teen smacks headfirst into a pole and crumples to the ground in a dead faint. The commotion is enough to have the entire schoolyard silent and staring at them both. Right now, Smip wishes that he could just go crawl into the trash with his eaten snacks, but he gets up and waves his hand off nervously.
"Um.. It's okay.. Uh.. He got, um.. stung by a bee.."
Darting off, he goes to help his fallen friend, deciding it might be good just to ditch school now. Grabbing his bag and shouldering Kwe as best he can, Smip drags them both to a secluded corner of the schoolyard, away from prying eyes. He takes out a small communicator from his bag, finally thankful that he has an overprotective 'mother' like Zim.
The communicator barely beeps twice before Zim's face is on the screen, "WHAT DID THOSE FILTHY STINK BEASTS DO TO YOU?! I WILL DESTROY THEM!!"
Smip cringes, "No, it's not that.. um.. Look, can you come pick me up? I have a friend that's hurt and.. well.. the nurse.."
He doesn't need to say much more. Zim wouldn't trust a dirty human at Skool to have decent medical knowledge.
Zim flicks an antenna with irritation, "Fine. I'll be right there."
With a relieved smile, Smip adds, "And don't tell Pop I'm ditching school."
