Invader Zim Fan Fiction ❯ Smip and Kwe's story ❯ Chapter 5

Zim stands just outside the door, staring at it as if the very answers to life's mysteries were etched into its surface. He mulls over the words again and again because they strike a cord deep down inside him in a part that he rarely ever shows. It was Dib that taught him exactly what it was to love and to be loved. He didn't completely grasp the concept until he first laid his eyes on his son after he was born.

What bothers him the most is that if it is possible that the Irken teen can love, why does he have to be Tak's son of all people? The thought of the female Irken leaves a bad taste in his mouth and he has a heavy feeling things will be rather volatile should a new smeet come into the picture between their children.

As silent as death, he opens the door, peering through the darkness of the room. His magenta eyes shine in the moonlight as he narrows his gaze to Kwe. He doesn't even bother commenting about their current state of undress.

Kwe, however, lays with is back turned to Zim, watching Smip as he sleeps. He had never seen anyone sleep before and didn't understand as well as most might. He held his partner tight, deciding to relax for a bit until Smip wakes up. After all, how long could one sleep? 10, 20 minutes? It only took his PAK seconds to charge up, so surely it wouldn't take too terribly long.

Zim clears his throat softly, just enough to get Kwe's attention, but not disturb his resting son. When he meets Kwe's eye, he speaks quietly, but with a tone filled with control.

"He'll most likely be asleep for the rest of the night.. I want to speak with you and do not wish to wake my son nor my mate, so let's move this into another room."

Kwe's eyes go huge with fear at what might happen. Slowly, he gets out of the bed once Zim leaves the doorway. He wipes the remnants of their passionate incident from his body and quickly dons his clothes once more, walking out and shutting the door behind him on his way to the living room.

His PAK is on high alert, ready to spring to life in an instant, simply because of the fear he was experiencing. Coming to the living room, he stands silently, hands folded behind his back and eyes focused on the elder Irken before him.

"Y-yes sir?" he asks politely.

Zim is standing while he waits in the living room, not wanting to bother with silly human formalities of sitting and talking. He had a point to this conversation and wasn't going to play the friendly host to the other. He eyes the teen over critically before finally speaking.

"Don't bother denying it, I know what you and my son were doing in there." The protective parent side of him as the urge to slice off Kwe's dick right there. "As much as I hate to admit it, yes, Smip is old enough to make decisions for himself and to.. 'experiment'." He uses quotey fingers again, having found more and more Earth slang wandering into his vocabulary after so many years here.

Kwe just watches Zim, hoping that he wouldn't have to do battle with the 'protective mother'. Especially after seeing what he was able to do to his mother. Quite honestly, Kwe and Tak were about on par combat wise, but Zim, who was far from equal to them, seemed to quite able of conjuring the ability needed when his son was in question. Kwe knew and ran this information through his head.

Zim dropped his arms, looking over to a few pictures on the nearby shelves. Dib was very sentimental in wanting to have pictures of the 'family' displayed there as well as various pictures of Smip at different stages of life. He stared hard at a few that had Smip as a very young smeet and some when he was a little older.

Without taking his gaze off the pictures, he continues, "Just because my mate may have made an agreement doesn't mean I won't hesitate to destroy you or your mother if anything were to happen to Smip. If you hurt him in any way, I promise you that I will take pleasure in feeling your blood on my hands."

Kwe just blinks a bit, "That will not happen.. You have my word and I will not let any harm befall him in any way if I can stop it."

He had to fight giving Zim a glare of 'who do you think you are acting like the tallest to me?.. ME!'.. but he keeps these feelings well within himself, meaning every word he spoke aloud to the other.

Zim turns and gives a light nod of his head in the only display that he accepts Kwe's promise. "I will hold you to your word then, as an invader." He decides to show Kwe at least a small amount of respect by that gesture to show his seriousness. Now, with all the pleasantries aside, he says quite bluntly, "But do not think this means I like you." He grumbles angrily under his breath, "I can hate you because you're doing sexual things with my son."

"If it eases your mind, sir, he is the one 'doing' sexual things to me on the most part." Kwe speaks with a slight blush while he looks away, hoping that the knowledge of Zim's son being the dominant one would at least make the elder more proud, if nothing else. "I.. would ask a favor though, sir... Do you have a training simulator? This is the time I normally undergo combat training." He tries to regain his composure by changing the subject.

Zim raises a brow slightly, but remaining impassive at first while he still processes it within his brain. A wicked grin of amusement slowly spreads across his face while he continues to eye the younger Irken.

"It's in his Irken blood to be dominant."

He shoots a pointed look to Kwe as he says this, oh so subtly alluding to who exactly takes it up the ass in his own relationship with Dib. Once his little moment of torturing the teen with too much information is over, he considers the request.

"I do have a simulator in my lab. Since this is also the time I like to train. I will let you use it and shall work in my lab."

Kwe blushes and blinks some at the information about Zim and Dib's love life, though it doesn't really faze him as it would Smip.

"Lead on then, sir."

Following Zim down to the lab, Kwe walks over to what was obviously an older model training simulator. Stepping in, he puts on the goggles and arm.. thingies.. which oddly enough were their proper names, which one could see by their labels of '7300gt ARM THINGIES by Irken fine products'.

Zim works nearby on a few of his various experiments and tinkers with a few different devices, modifying and upgrading them as needed. It really was boring during the long hours of the night while everyone else was asleep.

Not really caring if he's being distracting or not, he starts talking to Kwe over his shoulder, "So, I heard your father is Skooge. I know him very well. We went through the training academy together."

Kwe was training harshly, having turned up the difficulty setting a good 8 levels higher than what it had been set on. "Oh? I don't know much of my father. My mother left our home planet before I got a chance to meet him. She's told me he was a brave and mighty invader though. I'd like to know more of him if you'd enlighten me."

Zim's simulator was turned down lower since Dib had been using it previously, but found it much more difficult to do without having a PAK to rely on.

He chuckles a bit, thinking this kid is just asking for his bubble to be burst a little. "He may have successfully conquered planet Blortch, but the Almighty Tallests shot him out of the cannon during the organic sweep." Zim chuckles harder at that. "I saw him again when we were training again on Hobo 13."

"Eh? That's old news. He's rejoined the Invader army and conquered two more planets since that happened. Last my mother and I have heard, he was sent to conquer the planet of festive scented candles. This was a few years ago since we got this message, so no telling where he is now."

Kwe turns the combat simulator up another notch, unused to the older technology and finding its situations... odd.

Zim 'hrmf'ed and went back to working. He grumbled under his breath, "Yeah, well, he's still short and ugly." It's quiet for a while between the two until Zim wonders aloud, "Have you ever seen your father?" He puts down his things, turning to look at Kwe entirely now.

Kwe blinks a moment and pauses the simulation, taking off his helmet and tucking it under his arm.

"No?.. Though my mother said I took after her looks. I can only assume he was the tall, strong sort."

Zim folds his arms, cackling with is smug knowledge of the truth. "Care to have a chat with him then? I know I'm dying to know how he managed to mate with someone like Tak and still be the seeder." He's enjoying himself a little too much really.

"Chat with him? You know where he's at?" Kwe blinks and quickly puts away the training gear, walking over towards the computer he was expecting Zim to somehow get in touch with him through.

A smug grin and Zim's ego puffs up a bit more, "Of course. All invaders' computers can locate anything or anyone in the universe!" He turns to the screen and barks, "Computer! Put me in a direct line to Invader Skooge."

The computer sounds rather pissy and bored at being commanded, "Contacting Invader Skooge.. Location: Planet Scloot."

The screen is staticy for a few moments until it flickers on and a short, pudgy Irken with magenta eyes answers, "Invader Skooge here." He salutes the screen.

"F-father?"

Kwe's eyes go wide and almost teary as he seeks Skooge for the first time, and looking nothing like he had pictured him. Indeed he took after his mother in all ways of the physical nature. Almost pushing Zim out of the way, he jumps up close to the screen, staring wide-eyed.

Zim gives a little shout of "Hey!" as he's shouldered aside by Kwe.

Skooge blinks a bit himself and looks at the younger Irken curiously, "Father?"

Zim interjects himself back into the conversation again and waves like a retard, absolutely delighted in thinking he's sticking it to Kwe in a way.

"Hello, Skooge! Looks like your spawn is trying to be the carrier with my smeet!"

"ZIM!" Kwe says, astonished he would say so much terribleness in just one sentence. First impressions were everything. Why was he doing this? Kwe just stood there dumbfounded now and wide-eyed, blushing.

It takes a second, but understanding washes over Skooge's face until he pales slightly then blushes. Zim doesn't care if he's making them uncomfortable in the least.

Ignoring Kwe, he continues, grinning at the screen, "So, tell me Skooge, how did someone like YOU manage to be a seeder to someone like TAK?"

At least Skooge is used to Zim's personality, as frustrating and embarrassing as he is. He shifts uncomfortably in his chair and nervously rubs the back of his head.

"Yeah.. well.. about that.." He shifts again and idly wonders if Tak would really admit to being the carrier to Skooge if she really had been.

Zim waves his hand, motioning for Skooge to continue, "Yes?"

Skooge doesn't look at the camera as he mumbles a bit, "... I wasn't a seeder, I was a carrier.." The hue of his blush darkens and keeps going as Zim finds this funny enough to let out a loud cackle of laughter.

Watching Zim go off into his own world of cackling, Kwe steps forward a bit.

"So... if... I was to be, you would be ashamed?" Kwe asks, looking at the screen.

This wasn't anything like he planned, but.. maybe better in a way. His mother's purple eyes staring up into the screen as he asks so much for permission to carry a smeet of his own one day.

Zim is too lost in his little bout of amused laughter, even though he himself was the carrier for his smeet. Though, it was the only way it could happen under the circumstances.

Skooge looks back at the screen and looks into those familiar eyes. There was no question who had been one of the parents to this smeet. He realizes that he didn't even get a name of his own son before Tak had sent him away.

"How could I be ashamed if I had been one myself? Of course, there's not really any other choice with Tak.." He blushes slightly again, looking away momentarily. "What's your name?"

Kwe never considers that his own father wouldn't know his name. "I'm Kwe, Invader to be... Tak and I kind of got stranded here a while back... I.. I would ask for a rescue party but.. I just met someone.." He looks over at Zim as he is now recovering from his laughter. "His name is Smip... I.. It's nice to finally know you."

The young Irken didn't know what to say and was thoroughly choked up at the moment, even with Zim's laughter invading the background of such a sacred moment.

Skooge smiles, "Kwe.. That's a good name." He looks his son over a moment, "You take a lot after Tak I see..." He smiles a little again at the news of meeting someone and casts a glance towards Zim as well as he replies, "Smip, huh? Well, watch out of his carrier since he's crazy."

Zim stops laughing immediately to object again with a resentful, "Hey!"

Skooge just ignores him though and looks back to his son, "It's nice to be able to meet you too. Tak made me leave right after you were born."

"I.. see," Kwe says, looking down for a moment. A few answers to why she would do this bubbling up in his mind, but not liking any of them. He decides it was better not to ask. "Have you conquered any more planets since last we heard?"

Kwe doesn't know really what to ask. He had always thought of meeting his father one day, but it being nothing like this. His lack of preparation shows, but he simply did not wish to see the screen flicker off or to see his dad go quite yet.

Skooge looks a little proud of himself for a moment, happy to know that Tak at least told of his accomplishments. "I conquered Plobushia and now I'm here on Scloot. I haven't been here that long yet though."

The door to the lab slides open and a sleepy Dib comes trudging in, covering a yawn with his hand. He gives a tired wave at the screen, "Hi, Skooge.." then turns to Zim. "I was wondering where you went to and I didn't hear anything other than snoring coming from Smip's room, so I thought I better make sure you two hadn't killed each other."

Kwe beams with pride at hearing about Skooge's accomplishments. His father may not be very tall, but he certainly an invader to be reckoned with. He looks over at Dib as he walks in and has to blink while he wonders how Dib, a human of all things, would know of his father, even with access to such technology.

The young alien turns back to the screen, "Well, I'm proud to have such an invader as yourself as a father... Are you and Dib friends?"

Dib pipes up first, "We got to know each other since Zim decides to call people all over the galaxy at all hours of the night. He's worse than a teenaged girl sometimes with his computer phone."

Zim pouts angrily and glares at his mate.

Skooge chuckles slightly, understanding the joke through what he learned about Earth from Dib, "He's right about that, Zim."

Kwe grins at Zim, who is sulking in the corner.

"Maybe you can come visit some day?" he asks hopefully. ".. It's better if we don't tell mom, though until I'm ready to go off and become an invader." He chuckles a little, "You understand right?"

Kwe smiles up at the screen, his large eyes glistening with sparkles. His cute, little ass, stuck out in plain view of both Zim and Dib, wiggles cutely. It wasn't on purpose, but the perfect, little heart-shaped rear would easily catch the eye of anyone.

Dib and Zim can't really help but watch Kwe's ass squirming around excitedly.

The human chuckles softly behind his hand and whispers quietly to Zim, "Guess we know one reason Smip likes him."

Zim just gives a pouty glare, not impressed.

A small alert flashes on the screen for Skooge and a voice informs him of an incoming transmission. He realizes he'll need to cut this meeting short, as much as he hates to. He frowns at the alert before looking back to the screen.

"I'd love to, Kwe, because I want to get to know more about you since I've missed so much of your life. You can call any time you want to get in touch with me until I can leave Scloot. Just use Zim's computer. I'm sure Dib will let you."

Zim pipes up again, "Hey!"

Kwe starts to tear up slightly, "I..." Nodding, he smiles wide, "Thank you, father.. Be safe."

He doesn't feel comfortable enough to say 'I love you', but honestly wanting to. The screen suddenly flickers off and Kwe just stands there looking at it for a good 15 seconds, completely silent.

"T-thanks Zim... I owe you one.. Wait.. No, I take that back after all the laughing you did at my father.. I do owe you one though, Dib.. for letting me use the computer, as my father was sure you would.. Yes?" Kwe looks hopefully towards Dib.

It was Dib's turn to glare at Zim when he hears about him laughing at Skooge. He even gives him a smack in the shoulder, to which the Irken yelps and rubs his arm angrily.

"You need to stop being an ass during serious moments," Dib warns, finger pointed at his mate sternly. He looks back to Kwe, "Of course you can. You're welcome over any time." He adds, as an afterthought, ".. Maybe not your mother exactly, but you are."

Kwe grins at this and nods, giving a little giggle at the thought of Tak coming over to 'visit'.

"Oh, I know, I know.." He smiles and walks over, looking at the training equipment, "I don't suppose Smip is up yet?.. I'm getting a bit tired of training for tonight."

Dib yawns again, giving a stretch. The little post sex nap was nice and all, but it doesn't make up for a good night's sleep.

"I wouldn't think Smip is up yet, unless he had to use the bathroom." One more stretch, "Well, I think I'm going to go back to bed myself.. Just make sure you two don't kill one another while I'm sleeping." With his last warning, mostly directed at Zim, he shuffles off towards the door, "Goodnight, Kwe. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Night, Dib," Kwe replies in a pleasant tone.

Gir happens to be on the other side of the door, sucking happily on the Mega Suck Monkey he was promised earlier, even though he got it himself.

"Go watch TV, Gir," Dib mumbles.

Kwe blinks at the robot. It was odd, he had disliked Gir at first, but now, after getting used to his idiocy, he was starting to like the little SIR unit.

"TV?.. What's TV?" the young Irken blinks and looks wide-eyed. He's almost tempted to follow the little robot at first, but changes his mind. "Er, well.. What have you been working on all this time anyway, Zim?"

Zim's antenna perks slightly, curious that Kwe wouldn't know what TV was if he was here on Earth. He'd never admit it, but he himself was an avid TV fan as long as something interesting was on and he could get the remote away from Gir. He ignores that for now and turns back to his workbench where the various gadgets lay that he was tinkering with.

"Some of them are parts to weapons, some are upgrades to the house, some are.. just personal amusement," he says with a cryptic smile.

Several small devices lay spread out upon the table, the parts and upgrades being easily recognizable for what they were. The others, however... looked a bit more.. adult in nature.

"The.. private ones look like... --er, weapon upgrades huh?!" Kwe quickly looks to the other equipment, blushing nervously. "Yes, yes.. I've also taken a lot of training into weapons development.. I have to say some of this you're doing look like.. very high-end stuff.. for when your technology was cut off."

The younger tries not to look over at the other equipment again. A thought of Smip using such things on him pass through his mind and only serve to darken his blush.

Zim has a slight amused smirk on his face from watching Kwe's discomfort. He continues as if it was no big deal that he had some rather 'interesting' looking things laying there before them.

"These are some of the older weapons. We like to keep cycling them to keep them in working order. These are some of the last weapons to receive upgrades. They look modified because of the use of a few of Dib's engineering." He eyes Kwe's blush, refraining from commenting on it for now. "We both decided that it would be best to make sure all the weapons were ready now that Tak has shown her face again."

Kwe nods in agreement to it being a good idea and looks over the weapons idly, finding them interesting in the same way one would look at World War 1 weapons and find them interesting.. Perhaps that is a bit of an over exaggeration, but that's how it felt to Kwe. Slender hands brushing through a few pages of a PDA's stats and specs of them.

".. It gets.. really quiet down here without the battle simulator running.."

Indeed, there was absolutely no noise in the room besides the sounds the two Irkens made while they moved about. The proverbial 'pin drop' would sound almost like a thunderclap in these conditions.

The elder alien thinks Kwe is a bit of a stuck up pain in the ass, but he knows he'll have hell to pay if he decides to off the little prick in the middle of the night. Giving a noncommittal 'hmm' in reply, he picks up one of his 'personal interest' works and uses a small tool to pick inside of it.

"Yes. It's always quiet in the nighttime.."

Truthfully, it is a little lonely, but there's a warm spot in his heart at the thought of the rest of his family sleeping soundly just above.

Kwe swings his legs as he reads and can't help smirking a bit at times.

"Zim.. I know you don't care for me being with Smip.. Would you tell me though, is there anyone that could meet up to your standards to be with your son?" He looks up at Zim, speaking truthfully and sincerely.

Zim narrows his eyes now that he's put on the spot like that and turns, waving the device he was working on in Kwe's direction as he speaks, not seeming to care at all what exactly he's waving about.

"That's none of your business, insolent fool boy!.. I wouldn't have a problem with you if you weren't who you are! All of the entities in the universe and my son has to find the only one that's spawned from TAK!" He spits out her name like it's something vile.

Kwe's eyes widen and all he can do is close them tightly and blush while he looks at the thing being thrust at him.

".. Zim.. I can't really pay attention to what you're saying when you're waving something like that at me..." he says, placing his face in his hands in a very disturbed way. "And.. I know Tak is an enemy of yours, but you have to admit she is what would be considered the perfection of Irken skill, determination, and need for revenge."

Zim lowers his hand, still scowling at Kwe. He completely ignores the part about Tak. In his mind, if he ignores it enough, it's not a problem.

"If you're so focused on those types of things, it won't be long before you're heavy with smeet..." He points yet again, "If you two even THINK about making smeets, I'll throw you both into isolation chambers for the next 300 years!!" He completely ignores the fact that Dib was just around this age when they had Smip.

Being basically referred to as a slut, Kwe jumps to his feet and points in an enraged manner, "YOU'RE the only one out of the two of us that has been heavy with smeet! And YOU'RE the one building sex toys in his basement! So how does this make ME the one who can't keep their mind off such matters?!"

One had to admit that Kwe had a good point, but it was an aggressive point.. made to an aggressively protective mothering type, which, in turn, made it a 'bad' point.

Zim throws down his hands, balling them into fists as he growls, meeting Kwe head-on with this confrontation. He growls angrily before pointing, thankfully with the hand NOT holding his little machine this time.

"I was only the carrier because my mate was unable to be! PLUS I'M OLDER THAN YOU!"

His maturity is definitely questionable with that pathetic answer, but Zim says it as if it's the final answer to everything.

Kwe isn't really hurt from the age thing. He's more aggravated by it, causing him to strike a low blow as he balls his own fists at his sides, purple eyes glaring.

"Well, I'm TALLER," he retorts, leaning in a good few inches over Zim. He's ready for a fistfight, but hopes it wouldn't come to using technology.

A look of shock flickers over Zim's face for less than a millisecond before he growls loudly, getting face to face with Kwe, "Well I'M an invader!!" He's shaking slightly with anger as he approaches his breaking limit.

Upstairs, Smip begins to stir from hearing the muffled sounds of the argument currently taking place.

Kwe may be more peaceful than most Irkens, which wasn't saying much as his movement detailed. A quick and sudden smack is delivered across Zim's face followed by Kwe taking the traditional Irken hand-to-hand fighting stance. It consisted of leaning back as far as one can, only looking at your opponent with one eye and head turned, and arms extended in order to slap wildly at one another.

Zim's antennae shoot straight as he registers the slap to the face. He blinks, watching Kwe get into the fighting stance a he growls again.

"Why you filthy, little.. GRRR!"

He lunges, but not in any full-bodied attack. He starts slapping back equally wildly. It's quite ridiculous watching them really.

Unluckily for Smip, after waking up and realizing that the dried cum on his body isn't the usual from a wet dream, he cleans up and goes looking for Kwe. This fight is what he comes upon and just stands in the doorway staring.

".... Um.. What in the hell are you two doing?..."

Both stop dead in mid-slap. Kwe blinks while Zim's magenta eyes pop open with his tongue poking out stupidly upon seeing Smip standing at the door. Kwe takes a step back, effectively breaking the fight.

".... Bonding," he replies in an angry voice directed towards Zim. Kwe's purple eyes glare at the elder Irken, the exact same glare that his mother tends to give Zim, in fact, as he walks away from Zim a few steps and crosses his arms in front of his chest.

Smip gives a complete 'wtf' look back and forth to the two before closing his eyes and shaking his head with an exasperated sort of sigh.

"I'm going to just pretend that this is all a bad dream. It'll be easier for me to accept that then..." He rubs his temple slightly, his hair still messy from sleep as he stands in his shirt and boxers. "Whatever.. I'm going to just dream myself back to bed and let you two slap each other silly some more..."

Kwe looks over at Zim again and blinks when Smip turns around, quickly springing into his only chance to get away before anything else happens tonight.

"Wait! I'm feeling... SLEEPY! Yeah.. ummm, I'll come with you!" He scurries off after Smip with an obvious lie, leaving Zim standing there alone in the lab. He smiles once they're alone, "It's good to see you up though.. It was a long and.. dramatic night."

Smip walks with slumped shoulders and glances at Kwe with an incredulous look when he declares he's sleepy. He's too exhausted himself to argue and lets the other follow as Smip drags himself back to his room and crawls into bed. The half Irken definitely isn't the perkiest of people when his sleep is interrupted.

He mumbles, face buried in the pillow as he lays on his stomach, "You can share my bed if you're sleepy..." Yet again, he isn't alert enough to really think about Kwe not needing sleep.

Kwe looks at the bed and Smip as he crawls into it, giving a soft, ".. Thanks."

Smip already has his eyes closed, grunting softly in reply. Deciding that just laying there would be fine, Kwe wants to at least try to sleep, which is just laying with his eyes shut. Curling up beside his new friend, he looks over before laying his head gently upon Smip's back and wraps his arms around him. Smip makes a soft, happy noise when he has Kwe cuddled up with him and lets his antennae slacken to lay against the back of his head while he drifts off once more. It's so odd to see an Irken-like creature needing sleep to function, but it's also odd seeing one that does not have a PAK. The sound of soft breathing soon fills the quietness of the room.
