-Chapter 2-

Yen Sid looked up as the three Good Fairies flew into his room.

"You wanted to see us, Master Yen Sid?" Fauna asked.

"Indeed, I did," Yen Sid told them, "Behold!"

He gestured at the crystal ball and they flew closer for a better
look.

It was the last thing in the world any of them thought they would
see. Maleficent was sitting alone on the edge of her bed, crying
softly to herself.

"Oh my," Flora shook her head, "I can't believe it."

"Perhaps its a trick?" Merriweather suggested.

"It is no trick," Yen Sid told them. "Maleficent realized too late
that she was in love with Riku. Now, her heart aches for that young
man, knowing that it was her own dark deed that has put him out of
her reach forever. If she were to pine away, the balance of this
world would be lost."

"What can we do?" Flora asked.

"There is a man who has come to love Maleficent almost as much as she
has come to love Riku," Yen Sid told them, as the image of Maleficent
was replaced with one of Sephiroth. "He is a great swordsman and
recently a father. You must see to it that they find each other."

"Oh my," Fauna exclaimed. "He's a wicked as she is."

"Perhaps even more so."

"Nevertheless," Yen Sid concluded, "you will so it."

"Yes, sir." the winged trio agreed.

"Where is he?" Merriweather asked.

"You'll find him in Twilight Town."

"Oh, bravo, sir! Bravo!" Sephiroth's boss cheered as the sphere
drifted down toward him, only to be wafted back upward from a
strike from the side of the keyblade he now wielded.

On the next descent, Sephiroth let the sphere follow the blade until
it was dangerously close to the ground. Then gracefully arced the
sword so that the sphere was carried to the top where it balanced
gracefully at the top.

Kadaj clapped from his perch atop his nanny's shoulder.

"Up! Up!" he cried, ocassionally smacking Auron about the head as he
cheered encouragingly.

Auron didn't mind his new job. Truth was, it wasn't much different
from the days when he had been Lady Yuna's guardian.

Except that Lady Yuna's father wasn't Sephiroth.

Auron liked it when Sephiroth was on the job. The man was far more
relaxed when he was at play.

It had been Aerith who'd suggested a light-hearted task might be what
Sephiroth needed. He had resisted at first, until she had pointed out
that it would also be a good opportunity to show the world his skill.

Sephiroth tossed a second sphere into the air, then juggled them both
in the air with his sword for an hour longer as the crowd oohed and
ahhed.

"I'd stay a bit longer," he told them as he brought the performance
to a close with a grand flourish. "But I must go home and have dinner
with my son." He gave a bow, as his audience applauded, then strolled
over to Auron and Kadaj.

"You been a good boy for Auron?" He asked as he took the little boy
from the deathseeker's shoulder.

"As good as gold," Auron told him as they headed to the small cottage
Sephiroth had bought with the money he'd attained from the sale of
the Masamune.

"So," Sephiroth asked as they enterred the cottage and he opened the
fridge. "What do you want for supper? Fish or hamburgers?"

"Hamburgers." Kadaj declared.

"Hamburgers it is, then." Sephiroth tossed the junk mail into the
fireplace, briefly wishing he could toss the mailman in with it, and
incinerated them with a simple fire spell.

Cloud frowned at the envelope the postman he handed to him. The
writing seemed familiar and when he opened it, he realized why.

"Sephiroth," he was about to crumple it up and throw it away when the
enclosed photo caught his eye. "That can't be his house." he looked
closely at it and saw that it was of Sephiroth standing in front of
his newly purchased home with little Kadaj on his shoulder. He opened
the rest of the letter, curious about what he would find.

Cid and Aerith watched his eyes scan the contents until they stopped
moving and widened with shock.

"He did WHAT?!"

"Now what's that son of a bitch gone and done?" Cid demanded.

Cloud handed him the letter. Cid read it, picked his jaw and eyeballs
up off the floor, then read it again. "I don't believe it." He
muttered over and over to himself as he went back inside.
