Dawn and Darkness On Destiny Island
-Chapter Six-
Riku woke and sat up. "Where...?"
"You've been in a coma for two days," Sora told him.
"Namine called us when you came out of it an hour
ago. You were sleeping so peacefully, we didn't want
to wake you."
"Sora, I..." Riku began.
"Namine told us everything," Sora replied. "We're not
ashamed of you."
"I'm glad," Riku smiled, tearfully.
* * * * *
Riku was released from the hospital the following
afternoon.
"I'm starving," he remarked. "They don't feed you much
in that hospital."
"Think Axel is tired of us dropping by yet?" Sora asked.
"Probably not," Kairi laughed.
"I'll catch up with you in a minute," Namine told them.
* * * * *
Axel grinned as Sora and the others enterred the restaurant.
"Welcome back, Riku," he said. "Good to see you up and
about."
"Thank you," Riku replied.
Namine walked up to Axel and handed him a card.
Axel opened it and smiled as he read:
Thank you for saving Riku.
"You're welcome," he told Namine.
"Axel's the one who defeated Xehanort," Namine told Riku.
Riku blushed.
"What's wrong?" Axel asked. Then he realized. "Ah. Modesty.
Believe me, your body is nothing for you to be ashamed of.
Artists have painted people less beautiful than you."
Riku blushed even more deeply while Namine smiled.
"He's right you know," she agreed.
* * * * *
"I think you should pose for a picture," Namine suggested
that evening as she, Riku, Sora and Kairi watched a meteor
shower together. "You have such a nice body."
Kairi nodded in agreement. "And they should hang it in a
fine arts museum."
"Stop it, both of you," Riku half-begged, half-laughed. "You'll
make me blush again."
"Axel thinks he should pose nude," Namine explained.
"That's a good idea," Kairi agreed, smiling as Riku blushed.
"I'll paint it," Sora offered.
"Sora!" Riku yelped.
Sora blinked, then started laughing. Kairi, Namine, and
Riku joined in.
"I appreciate the compliments," Riku admitted, once he'd
managed to stop laughing. "But I'm not comfortable with
it just yet."
"I understand, " Namine said, putting an arm around his
shoulders. "You are beautiful, though." she added.
