Destiny Islands

“So can you get the rest of the supplies?…Sora are you listening to me?” “Huh? oh! Uh…Yeah” I said blushing, embarrassed for

having zoned off. He tousled my hair. “Sora what am I going to do with you!” Laguna asked dramatically. “Hey!” I said laughing

trying to smooth out my hair. Not that it would help much. My hair had always been a bit unruly and I had learned that it worked best

chopped short, at shoulder length. “Okay here’s what we have left: Two logs, rope, and some cloth.” “Think you can handle that?”

“No problem” I said shrugging. “Alright, get to it! Bring everything back here. I’m counting on you!” He said walking away probably

to try and find Riku and give him his instructions. I sighed and began walking along the shore of the beach. My mind began

wondering once again about the dream. I shook my head “come on Sora get a grip!” I told myself. I began to walk faster and soon

my eyes traveled to the peer. I went over to it and walked underneath it to the other side of the beach. “alright!” I thought as I found

a pile of wood along the shore. Probably brought in by last weeks storm. I sorted threw the pile and found two of the sturdiest ones.

I carried them back to the area where Laguna instructed me to and set them in the sand. Ok, now the rope and cloth. I was almost

positive I could find the cloth by the tree house. I ran along the beach, up the ramp and ascended the long staircase leading to the

door. I stepped inside and sure enough a large cloth was hanging along the south wall I reached forward and pulled it down. Now the

rope, I stepped outside and a scene caught my eye. I smiled and walked down toward the beach. “No, kinda like this” I heard Tidus

say bringing two fingers to his lips. He blew his mouth and a piercing whistle sounded. “Now you try” he said looking toward Yuna.

She blushed and did the same. Sucking in a mouthful of air she blew her mouth. A wavering whistle was produced. “Alright you got

it!” Tidus pumped his fist in the air. Yuna grinned sheepishly. She looked up when she noticed me and smiled. “Hi, Sora.” “Hi,

Yuna. Hey, Tidus. have you seen any extra rope around here?” If anyone knew were to find any it would definitely be Tidus. He

prided himself with keeping everything on the island in top shape. He could repair anything. “Yhea! I think I have some left over

from making that ladder. I’ll be right back!” He said racing toward the dock. I glanced at Yuna. She was watching him with a rather

large smile on her face. “Your getting really good” I stated. “Huh?” She asked. “Whistling” I replied. “Oh…I…uh thank you.” She

said. “Tidus has been teaching me since this morning, but I think I finally have a hang of it now.” I smiled at her. “Hey!” Tidus cried

out racing toward me “found some.” He handed me the rope. “Thanks” I said nodding to him. “No problem, let me know if you

need anything else.” “I will, thanks again” I said walking back down the beach. I noticed that this time Laguna was waiting for me

when I returned. “Here” I said tossing him the rope. “Good job” he smiled at me. I looked up into the sky the sun was just beginning

to go down. For some reason this made my heart begin to beat faster. As long as the sun is shinning your journey should be a

pleasant one.
Those words were ringing in my ears. Laguna then noticed my expression. “Tired? wanna call it a day?” he asked.

“Yhea, lets go home” I replied. “Ok, it’s getting late. we’ll finish up tomorrow.” Later at sunset…“So, Laguna’s home is out there

somewhere, right?” I asked. Laguna and Riku and I were sitting on a large outstretched tree branch located on the smaller adjacent

island. “Could be, we’ll never know by staying here” Riku replied. “But” …I asked thinking “how far could a raft take us?” “Who

knows? If we have to well think of something else.” I frowned at the thought but nodded anyway. The raft had originally been Riku’s

idea. He was persistently trying to make this plan work. I don’t think I could bare to face him if all are hard work failed him. “So

suppose you get to another world, What would you do their?” Laguna asked turning toward Riku. “Well, I haven't really thought

about it. It's just... I've always wondered why we're here on this island. If there are any other worlds out there, why did we end up on

this one? And suppose there are other worlds... Then ours is just a little piece of something much greater. So we could have just as

easily ended up somewhere else, right?” I sighed exasperated and laid down on the branch. “I don’t know” I replied. “That's why we

need to go out there and find out.” Riku said looking towards me. “Just sitting here won't change a thing. It's the same old stuff. So

let's go.” He looked at me, peering into my eyes. I blushed a little under his intense stare and turned away. He then quickly turned his

attention back to the sunset. “You’ve been thinking a lot about this haven’t you?” I asked softly. “Thanks to Laguna,” he said

directing his face toward him. “If you hadn't come here, I probably would've never thought of any of this.” “Well thanks…I guess.”

Laguna replied rubbing the back of his head. We all fell into a satisfied silence and finished watching the sun go down. Afterwards

Riku jumped from the branch and began walking down the dock back to the beach. I stretched when I jumped down from the

branch. Laguna fallowing my lead. I began to fallow Riku. “Sora!” Laguna called out I turned back to face him. He tossed something

toward me. I caught it and looked down at the object. “A paopu fruit…“If two people share one,” Laguna began “their destinies

become intertwined. They'll remain a part of each other's lives no matter what.” I didn’t reply. “C'mon, I know you want to try it”

Laguna said chuckling. What are you talking- I cut myself off as He walked past me. I looked down on the beach toward Riku.

Maybe…I shook head at the thought and tossed the paopu fruit into the water.
