"Mom!" Fumu called through the house. "Mom! Dad! Where are you?" Fumu looked through the halls, but her parents were no where to be found. They were usually free this time of day. "They are in a meeting," Meta Knight said, suddenly behind her. Fumu let out a sharp gasp and jumped away from him. "Would you please stop doing that?" she says putting her palm on her face. "My apologies, Milady," he said flatly. "What meeting are they in that you aren't a part of?" she asked looking concerned. "I'm only a part of the security meetings. They're having a community event planning meeting, right now," he answered.

"Oh..." she looked down to the floor. "Well, I guess there's no harm in going outside then," she said turning away from him. "Very well, milady," he said as he followed her, as pre his new duty. "What are you doing?" she said turning to him with a curious expression. "I am to guard you, Milady. You may not understand how valuable your new position is, but you will one day." "Sir Meta Knight, preform your guard duties. Go build a new ship. Do anything, OTHER than follow me around," she commanded sternly and pointed her finger when she was done. He reached out to her finger and lowered it, putting surprise on her face. "It's an order from your mother. Sword and Blade are to look after Bun, but not as closely as I am to watch after you. I am directly responsible for your safety."

Fumu looked at him in a horrorifed-disbelief, but tried to laugh it off. "That's sounds-- That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! If she's so considered about my safety she should want me to learn how to defend myself! There's no way you can be with me all the time. What if I'm attacked while I'm in the shower or something?" For whatever reason, the sudden pause between them made the young lady blush slight, but she crossed her arms and turned her face towards the wall.  "She didn't even think about that, did she?" "She probably did...," is what Meta Knight wanted to say, but he rightfully said nothing. "And, now she's in a meeting. I don't even have a say in the matter! Surely you don't want to be a babysitter," she said aggressively.

Meta Knight smirked under his mask at how snappy the young lady was getting these days. Fumu was very much about being strong, smart, and independent, so it was natural that this development would upset her. His eyes turned pink as he replied "I actually don't mind." She couldn't help but be taken aback by his open agreement, and he was even amused by this! "I'll have you know that your amusement is at the cost of my dignity, Sir Meta Knight," the elder child hissed to the pink eyed knight as she glared at him. "But, you're not the one I'm upset with. How could she do this to me?" Fumu just turned around with her head down and continued to head out of the castle. "She is only concerned for your well-being. There is no need to be angry," he commented as he followed. "I have every reason to be angry," she replied in the most flat tone she could manager at the moment. "After all I've been through I don't deserve to be treated like a weakling!" He kept himself composed with the understanding of why she was upset. "I'm only following orders, milady," he repeated with a more serious tone.

Later that day as the sun was setting, Fumu came across her mother sitting out next to the garden enjoying her peace and quiet until it was about to be shattered. "Mom!" Fumu called out and ran to her. "Oh, Fumu..." Memu sighed turning to her. She could see the rage on her daughter's face and countered it with a cross between light-heartedness and confusion. "Mom... How was the meeting?" she asking in a much calmer tone than she looked. "Oh! It was fine! We're discussing our new historical event," she answered with a smile. "That's good. Mom, why is Sir Meta Knight my babysitter all the sudden?" Well, she saw that coming. "Because, my dear, you seem to have a way of throwing yourself into danger," she answered and put her pink fan over her mouth. "But, I can take care of myself, mom!" she exclaimed determinedly with her fists up. "Only to an extent, dear. There's a lot you still don't know. Sir Meta Knight has more life experience than all of us. I have entrusted you to him, because he's not only an excellent sword-wielder, but an logical thinker, as well." "But, why don't you trust me to fend for myself? Why not have someone teach me how to take care of myself?" Memu turned to her with an unusually serious expression. "Because you are too valuable to be thrown out into the front lines of danger." "And, if I am attacked while I'm in my room or in the shower, where Sir Meta Knight isn't allowed?" "He is allowed if you are in danger, of course."

"But, what about Bun? He gets into way more trouble than I do, with much less regard for the consequences!" she countered. "Which is why we decided it would be best if you were the one to make the decides in the event we are incapable to do so, for whatever reason." Fumu pouted  and looked down to the ground in defeat. "Calm down, dear. It's not like Meta Knight will get in of the way of anything. He's a very crafty hider, and knows how to stay quiet. He's practically a ninja." "But it's the fact that he's there. He'll always be... watching. I feel violated", she said wanting to cry to help get her point across. "But, wasn't he always watching anyway?" Memu pointed out. Fumu closed her eyes and crossed her arms. "No." "Well, usually", Memu said looking up to the sky. "If it means so much to you, than feel free to learn how to fight in a formal manner. I will not call off Sir Meta Knight until I see that you are ready to be on your own." Fumu looked up quickly. "But, Mom, I--" "One day, I'm sure you will understand." It was clear that trying to reason with Memu was like talking to a brick wall, now. There was nothing Fumu could do about it, so she just walk away in dismay. She was the one that had the main role in helping raise Kirby. She was the one that survived a direct attack from Nightmare. She was the one who had the main hand of kicking Dedede and 'Goon out by force!

The next day, she got dressed in her legless long armed body suit and high tops. She cleaned herself up, ate, and pulled her laptop from under her bed. She went out to the large back yard and started setting up a small training area with instructions from the internet. It took her longer than she thought it would, but was very satisfied with her work when she was done. It was a small simple course that was fine enough for the level she was start on. Meta Knight came across the sight as soon as she was done, and stayed invisible as he watched her do the basic stretches and start training. She ended to last lap attempting a high kick to a round dummy hanging from a tree, but failed landed to kick. However, she succeeded at falling flat on her back. Meta Knight watched the scene, but didn't interupt. She went through the rest of the day training her basics. Meta Knight didn't need to guard her - as she didn't leave the mansion. When he pasted by with his other duties, he gave her some long glances to make sure she didn't hurt herself too badly. It was odd and sort of funny at how this reminded him of his old training days, and how it was when he was in charge of training new warriors in the Star Warrior war. Of course, he couldn't forget when he did some basic training with Fumu, himself. He smiled to himself, and even let out a chuckle at the memories as he went about his day.
She limped into her room, that night, and through herself on the edge of the bed. She wanted to take a shower... or better yet a bath. She was also hungry, but her body was in disagreement of moving off the bed now that it was there. Meta Knight stood in the hall outside the door to her room as quietly as usual. The only thing he had to do at this point in the day was watch TV and go to bed. His eyes turned dark green a for moment as his hand was making it's way to Fumu's door in a fist. When the door swung open Fumu walked out into the with a towel and her night shirt. She didn't bother to look up, as she didn't feel anyone else there.

When she got out of the bath into her night shirt she came upon her father in the hallway headed back to her room. "Oh, hello dear!" he said happily. "Hey, daddy," she replied doing her best to form a smile. "What's the matter? Why do you have bruises?" he asked taking his daughter's red hands. "I'm training, daddy. I'm going to learn how to take care of myself, so mom will withdraw her order to Sir Meta Knight," she answered. She couldn't help but tell her father what was going on. She didn't have any faith in him trying to talk to Memu, but he was an understanding ear to vent into. "Fumu, we just want you to be safe. I know how strong you are, and I have faith in your abilities. It's just... What's the harm in having Sir Meta Knight take the hits for you?" "Take the hits for me?" she asked looking up to him, perplexed. "Yes, think of it that way. Or, better yet, think of him as level 1. If anyone can get past him they'll have to get past you to take away your role of authority." Fumu opened her mouth slightly in amazement of her father's line of thinking.

He let go of her hands and put up on fist proudly. "Become stronger than him, my daughter! Put him beneath you and be a more furious challenge for anyone who oppresses you!" Fumu's eyes became big and dazed as her heart was bleeding pride and joy out the seems! "I will, daddy!" she said in breathless determination. "Don't forget about Bun, Kirby, Sword, and Blade. Anyone or anything that oppresses you will have to get past them, as well." "And, even Silica, Joe, and Rona if things were bad enough to have to call for help," Fumu added out loud. "Well, don't put so much on your plate at once," he said waving his hands nervously. Fumu looked up to him with a hopeful smile. "I won't. I have to focus on pushing my limits." "Don't push too hard or you'll break, dear. That's what I'm afraid of," he replied in a sadder tone. Fumu smiled to him endaringly and didn't hold back from hugging him. He smiled nicely and hugged her back, before they decided to depart for bed.
