Hyrule High

(I don't usually do `modern' views of mangas or videogames, but I had an idea I had to try. I hope you enjoy it!)

Blonde headed, blue eyed, boy walked into the gymnasium, equipped in full football gear. He was 6 feet, rather big, considering the town he lived in, and his pads made him seem 200 pounds heavier, even though he was well built. With angular features, almost no lips visible though, but his angled features and broadened chest and shoulders made up for it.

“What do you want?” Gannon asked being the school bully, most popular guy, and captain of the football team and team tryouts judge. His dark skin contrasted uniquely with his Irish red hair. His features weren't as sharp as The blonde boys, but his body was thicker, more powerful.

“Let him try out Gannon.” Zelda said as she sighed and looked at her nails. Her job, other than judge, was head cheerleader. Her lithe and slender body attracted all sorts of attention from men, and her blonde hair, crystalline eyes combo, she was the prize of the school.

“Go Link!” came a loud voice from a green haired girl, his best friend, Sariah, who was the last judge.

“I can guess her vote.” Gannondorf mumbled to himself.

Someone else was in the room, a small woman, redheaded, nerdish Malon. She was a very quiet girl, just hanging up banners for the prom that's coming in two months. She had glasses and wore thick shirts and baggy pants to hide her body, which rumors of her being fat or scared, reached around the school like wild fire.

She sighed as she saw Link run, she noticed him before he became the quiet and strong athlete he was working on becoming. She had known him for a while, but never actually knew him. Her crush had started when they were younger and he tackled a rather nasty boy who was picking on her.

Link was a very talented quarterback, but he made an excellent guard, like he know how to dig his heels in and block the other huge members. He could also catch fairly well and run very fast, meaning he could be a very talented receiver.

“Well that wasn't too bad.” Gannon sneered.

“'Too bad'? Are you kidding? He's a better receiver and guard than you are Gannon!” Zelda said as she told Gannon off.

“Hey Link, don't you have science next?” Sariah asked realizing Link can't be that late or his teacher would go ballistic again.

“EEEP!” The heads turned as Malon realized she also had to get to her science class, running down the bleachers and almost tripping on her own bag, she ran off to her science class.

Gannon started laughing uncontrollably and held his sides against as he leaned against the wall to support him. Zelda snickered a little at the awkward girl. Sariah wondered what was so funny as Link started to get angry at Gannon who was still laughing.

Link stomped away to change. “What's up with Link?”

“I think you guys made him mad…”

“Link, why are you late?”

“Football tryouts…” he said and sat down, the teacher didn't say another word, with his strong frame and bushy eyebrows, he looked like was from the woods, the black beard didn't help.

“Well since Malon and you were late, and all science partners were chosen, you two are partners.”

Link shrugged and sat next to the now flustered Malon. “Hi…I'm Ma-”

“I know who you are Malon, you are in almost every single one of my classes.”

“Oh…o-okay. You don't even have to do anything, I'll…”

Link started choking like the concept of cheating wasn't one he particularly liked.

“What's wrong Link?” his teacher asked turning from his lecture.

“Swallowed my gum, I'll be fine.” He rasped. Then whispered; “Look Malon, I am not into cheating or making the smarter kids do all the work, I'll do my fair share.”

Malon felt like she would swoon, here she was working on a science project with her biggest crush, and he was a perfect gentleman. “A-alright…”

“Class get together with your partners and discuss what you are doing with your partners for the next five minutes of class.” The professor commanded and sat at his desk, correcting papers.

“Lets do this at your house!” the two teens said, at the same time facing each other. “No really, I insist, lets do it at your house!” they both said again. “Well why can't we do it t your house?”

“You first.” Link said and Malon stuck her pink tongue out.

“Well…ummm…uhhh…”

“See you don't have a reason.” Link stuck his own tongue at her; she felt the need to kiss him for it…

“Like you do?”

“My parents aren't home and their rule is no girls in the house, for ANY reason when they aren't there.”

Malon looked at him weirdly, something was really weird, she just happened to get the feeling that he was lying. “But my house is weird!”

“So? I can handle weird, trust me, I can handle it.”

“Fine! But the day after that we are working at your place!”

Link sighed; he wasn't going to win this time. “Fine, what are we doing our project on?”

“Ummmmm… lets figure that out when we get to my house, I'm sure we'll think of something.”

The bell rang, signaling the end of the day. “Want a ride home?” he asked her, heading down the hall.

“Um sure…do you know where I live?” Malon started down the stairs to the parking lot.

“Nope, give me some directions.” Link pulled his keys out of his pocket.

“Where's your car?”

“It's the van.” He said pointing to a green and white van in the parking lot.

“When are you from? The seventies?”

“Shut up and get in.”
