Decisions

It was a dank and dismal room with two women concentrating on a large orb. A young man was on the other side of the orb, unaware of his spectators. A strong feeling of dread washed over the women, and they both visibly shuddered.

“So what should we do?” One sister asked the other.

“Hmm…” She responded, resting her head in one palm. “We can't kill him; his life-force is to strong. And we can't afford another mistake. We've already tried to erase his memory, but he always finds a way to remember. I can't think of anything we could do, except let him roam free.”

The first sister looked as though the other had struck her. “And face the possibility of an even worse scenario happening? What's to say he won't lose his sanity and try to take over the world? Maybe he'll live out his destiny, maybe he'll buck against it. His fate isn't set in stone, like the others. Once he discovers this little fact, all Hell could break loose. And it probably would, knowing his way of thinking. Now, back to my first question: What should we do?”

They sat in silence and pondered various situations until the door was opened and light invaded the darkness of the room. Both sisters squinted as they tried to determine who the shadowy figure was. Once the figure stepped in and closed the door, the recognized who it was.

“I think I may have a solution to our problem, my dear sisters…”
