Love Hina Fan Fiction ❯ Hidden Passage, Hidden Life ❯ The big question ( Chapter 1 )
[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
ACTUNG! this is the first time I've posted a fic so I'm not sure if it deserves to live yet, so be warned.
Disclaimer: Love Hina is the property of Ken Akamatsu-dono, Tv Tokyo, and Tokyo Pop. I do not, and will probably never own Love Hina. (as much as I would like to) this story will be removed at any request of Akamatsu-dono, although that is the only way it comes down! The plot here is mine, although I do offer it to Akamatsu-dono if he wishes to continue Love Hina along this plot line, or anybody who wants to continue the story if it suddenly dies out.

"One might wonder why exactly I live in the night, but it's just as complicated as it is simple. The simple answer is that there are two worlds: one for night and one for day. The complicated part of that is that neither is really there, but more of what the people make of it. First comes the time zone law, as there is always sunlight somewhere on the planet, there can't really be a world of darkness, but the same goes for a world of light. Second is that two things cannot exist in the exact same place at the same time. Finally is the philosophical point that light cannot exist without darkness.
The interesting fact that humans live in fear because of the fear that they fear facing. We fear the night because crimes and accidents happen at night, but what if everybody were to forsake the day and work in the night? More people around alone would reduce crimes, as they are done when people are not around. Fewer accidents would happen if other people were around to notice the fatigue of people about to make them. There is another saying of unknown origins that says fear breeds more fear. Because we fear the night, less people go out, and that ends up giving us more to fear. One point might be that if humans are afraid of water, the training of lifegaurds would be impossible, so nobody could save someone pulled into a current, which would cause more deaths and more fear of water, ending in clyclilic fear.
The first step towards this is to not let other people's fears become yours. If your friend is afraid of snakes, he might just breed fear in you, and eventually all your friends would be afraid of snakes through the spread. The lesson here is not to fear unless you yourself fear it.
I have no fear of swords, knives or most other weapons, but I too have my weaknesses... I am afraid of my sister, and... turtles... You must understand that before you came before me tonight, you had a fear of doing so, otherwise you would have been here before now. Since you have displayed the courage to knee before me, I offer you the chance to train in the mental training of the Shinmei ryu. If you wish to accept my offer, you will show up on the annex rooftop at midnight tomorrow night."
With that the door slid shut with a soft click, leaving a quite astounded keitaro kneeling there... 'I was only going to ask her to get her laundry out of the machine, and hope I wasn't decapitated in the process' came the sole calm thought. Another problem confronted him, the offer motoko gave him was not one that could be accepted or rejected lightly.
'Oh well, I'll just put her laundry in one of the changing baskets from the hot spring'
As he left to his task, motoko sat in a lotus position figuring out her answers to if and when he showed up, or if he didn't at all. 'If I extended this offer to be refused, I will disembowel him and strangle him with his own guts' was her most direct thought, but some others lingered in there 'If he knows how much this means to me and knows he cannot commit, how is that to fair? It would mean that he isn't insulting my heritage, but it also means he rejected the current me, what is the best approach then?'
Then, as fate would have it, both of them thought exactly the same thing "Oh well, some things are better when slept on." both muttered before crawling into futons and drifting into the abyss of the dreamworld.
There you go, read and weep, or better yet, read and review .
this is the first time I've actually posted anything I wrote so I need reviews more then anything!
as another note, if somebody were to check around, this is my story on ff.net also... I didn't steal it!
