CHAPTER ONE
AN UNFOTUNATE SHOCK
AND A SHOCKING WILL

It was raining. It had been raining since she died. And the mood at the Hinata apartments was just as damp and dreary as the weather.

Everyone had been kept quite busy this week preparing for the funeral. Preparing for the burial scheduled for today.

It had become a tragic and mournful circus at the Hinata apartments. Keitaro's mother and father had arrived earlier in the week to support their son in this time of shared grief. Naru's family had just arrived the night before and was staying in one of the spare rooms. Motoko's sister Tsuruko had arrived and was sharing her room. Even Shinobu's parents had shown up and were trying to do their best to get along for their daughters sake. Amara had arrived late the night before with her husband the king and her ever present albino crocodile. Seta had shown up earlier that day to lend whatever assistance he could and comforting everyone who looked as if they needed a shoulder to cry on.

And though everyone seemed content you could feel the tension floating around like stale oatmeal in a barrel of cider.

The funeral itself would be started shortly and many people throughout the district were coming to pay respects to the one known to everybody simply as Grandmother Hina.

As everybody gathered around the place that would be the resting place of her ashes the mood got even damper and fouler than the weather.

Keitaro was standing next to his parents in his best and only funeral worthy suit next to his adopted sister Kanako in the very front. Aunt Haruka stood next to them with Seta and little Sara, just to her right. Naru stood across from Keitaro with her parents and little sister Mei behind her. Mitsune stood next to them. Next to her were standing Mutsumi and her parents. Motoko and Tsuruko stood next to her, looking very solemn, each bearing their respective weapons tied into their sheaths with silken cords. Next to the warriors stood Kaolla-Su, with her sister Amara and her husband who were doing their best to try and comfort their impulsive little sister. Each of them was looking stately in their ceremonial robes. Shinobu and her parents came next. And together they formed a semicircle around the little marble marker that was to stand for Grandmother Hina's life. And each of them thought the marble marker was totally insufficient to the task. Each of them was dressed in their very best and was expressing their sorrow in their own way.

The monk that let the ceremony was one everyone knew in fact he and a couple of his fellow monks used the springsquite often. He was intoning at how blessed a woman she was but each of them had thoughts of their own on this day.

`It's so sad, Keitaro loosing his grandma this way' Shinobu thought as she cried. Tears spilling freely down her porcelain face. `I wish I could make him feel better somehow? It doesn't seem right. She brought us all together in a way, and now that she's gone will we all just drift apart? This is the only real family I have ever known. What is going to happen to me now? I know that people die all of the time, but why did it have to be her? I wish I could find a way to stop it, but I just don't know how.'

`Keitaro looks so unhappy maybe I could build a cheer machine to help him feel wonderful again. But grandma's gone. I don't want to leave here. I want to stay with my new family and Keitaro.' Kaolla-Su thought dejectedly, as she sobbed quietly to herself. I don't want to leave. I wish she would have stayed a little longer so that we could have stayed together. Keitaro is so sad and I cannot help him.'

`I never wanted to feel like this for anyone ever again.' Mitsune thought as she cried out loud. Her normally happy eyes were bloodshot and swollen from crying. `But looking at Keitaro, how could there be anyone that would not feel bad for him. He must be hurting severely. But other than the time we found her lying there in the temple he hasn't cried since. If he doesn't let it out soon he is going to loose it. This is not the time for jokes or I would turn loose on him. Kami, why did this have to happen to us now, at this time? I have never really known a loving family. Hell, this place is the closest I have ever come to having a home and being truly being happy. And now it looks like we are all just going to go our own ways. Why now? Why now?'

`Everyone's so upset I wish we could think of happier things. I want everyone to smile again. Poor Keitaro looks so depressed. He looks as though he's all alone for the first time in what seems like forever.' Mutsumi thought as she nearly choked on the tears running down her face. `I know what its like to be alone with only myself for company. I have been alone in a room full of people. This is the first place that I have ever felt truly welcome. This is the first place that has ever truly felt like home.'

`Urashima's so distraught over his ancestors passing. I wonder if he thinks himself alone in this. If I were his promised I would be by his side. But Naru is standing dutifully by her parents as they are yet unwed. She looks as though se wants to run to him and sooth his hurt, just as we all do. I hope this doesn't force us to split up, we have become as close to family as many of us has ever known.' Thought Motoko as the female samurai looked around with moist, red eyes. `Do not worry Grandmother Hina. Though I felt your passing and could do nothing I will defend them all as best as my poor skills will allow. And even though his choice was made and his heart was given to Naru I will defend their children likewise.'

`Please cry Keitaro. Please do something so we can help you with what you're feeling. We all hurt for you. Why won't you cry? I don't like seeing you like this. It's not good for you. You have to let it out before it tears you apart. Let us help you. We will be here when you need us. But don't make us wait for to long. We all love you and want to help. Please cry Keitaro.' Naru prayed as her tears mixed with the pouring rain as she wept for her betrothed. `I know that we haven't always gotten along, but cry, at least a little. I don't want to split up our family any more than you do. Please let me help you at least. I love you, my beautiful man. You have always been the one to help us. Now let us help you. Please cry Keitaro. Please cry.'

You foolish old bat,' Kanako thought bitterly. ` What do you think you were doing, going into that musty old temple alone at your age? Look at what Keitaro's going through because of you and your foolish old ways. It's because of your interference that he's attached to that Naru bitch and to these other girls and not to me. If you would have kept on with your journey I and Keitaro would be happy. We would be together. It's all your fault you old biddy, it's all… your…Damn… fault…' She railed. Her eyes would be the only ones that would be dry that day if it were not for the pouring rain.

Shortly after that the monk declared the service ended a zombie-like Keitaro placed the urn with her ashes into the marble monument and taking another piece of marble placed it over the nook. Then he took some mortar and sealed the piece firmly into place.

The next couple of hours were spent serving refreshments to the guests that had come to honor the matron of the Urashima clan. All of the girls assisted in keeping everyone satisfied until they left. Keitaro meanwhile had snuck himself into his room without saying a word to anyone.

Things went on like this for the rest of the night. He would come out for water, or to use the shared facilities. But he wouldn't say a word to anyone.

Then about at about two in the morning all of the girls were awakened by a terrible scream. The rushed out of there respective rooms seemingly as one and looked around at one another. Then again they heard another keening wail. “Keitaro!” they shouted to one another. Rushing outside into the pouring rain and still in their nightclothes they saw him.

He was leaning against a cherry tree and crying his grief to the heavens. He was shaking from his inner turmoil and the damp of the night. He still had not changed out of his funeral attire and it was apparent that it had long ago absorbed all the moister it could hold. It clung to his already soaked skin like barnacles to the side of a ship. He was pouring out his anguish like foam on the tide. He didn't even seem to notice the arrival of the girls. He just kept right on wailing to match the storm. Just then his aunt Haruka arrived from her apartment above the teahouse.

When Naru and Mistune went out to get him she held them back saying “He needs this. He's been holding this in since the day that she passed. Just let him cry it out. But we'll keep an eye on him just in case. But for now let's go inside It won't do any of us good if we all get sick from this miserable weather.”

So they all went into the lobby. Shinobu went into the kitchen to prepare some tea for everyone while they waited to see what Keitaro would do.

For the next hour they all waited uncomfortably while they listened to Keitaro's grief.

Then at about three-thirty the grounds fell silent.

As they all went outside they expected to find him still sheltered under the cherry tree where they had last seen him. When he wasn't there they began an immediate search of the grounds. “Call out if you find him. We cannot let him alone anymore. We have to get him inside where he can be warmed up.” Haruka stated in the matter of fact type voice she used when she was serious.

For over an hour they searched until Shinobu came running up to the main search party.

“He's by the grave marker and he's cried himself to sleep. He's shivering with cold. How are we going to get him inside?” She said a worried look on her young face.

“Leave that to us. Why don't you and Kaolla-Su go to his room and get it ready for him. I think Motoko and I can get him there with a little help from Naru. Right ladies” Mitsune said glancing up at Motoko and Naru.

“We will get Urashima there do not worry Shinobu. Nothings going to happen tonight I so avow it.” Motoko said bluntly.

So while Shinobu ran to get Kaolla-Su to get his futon ready Motoko, Mitsune and Naru stood watch over Keitaro's sleeping form.

Shortly afterwards, his aunt Haruka came walking over to them carrying a large bundled up blanket, and an umbrella.

“I thought you might be able to use something to carry him on, and this,” She said “will keep the rain off of his face while we move him. So how is he?”

“Haruka I'm sure glad you thought of this.” Naru said forgetting her manners in the heat of the moment. Taking the large blanket and unfolding it and laying it down to use as a stretcher. He seems to be sleeping but I am sure he has pneumonia after being out in this weather for so long. I just hope he will recover soon.”

Then they slowly picked him up and laid him on the blanket. Then with Motoko and Mitsune carrying the end with his feat and Haruka and Naru at his head they started for the apartments.
As they approached the side door Mutsumi came running out and held the umbrella over Keitaro's head while his sister held the door open a worried look crossing her face.
“Will he be alright Haruka-sama?” she asked a quiver in her voice.

“He should be but he might have a bit of a cold after being out in this weather. We'll have to wait and see.”

Then like a grim parade they went up the stairs. The families of the Apartment's residents followed closely behind the girls, as they carried the limp body of the unconscious apartment manager to his room.

They got him into his room and began to ready him for bed. They noticed the crowd that had gathered outside his room.

“Would you girls like to help them back to their rooms while I get him ready for bed? I don't think he needs all of this attention right now.” Haruka stated flatly.

“If you don't mind we would like to take care of him ourselves Haruka-san” Motoko said “We have all been wondering how we could help him all day and this is the first time we have had a chance to do anything for Urashima.” Motoko said quietly. “Besides we all owe him in one form or another.” She stated in an even softer voice.

“Yes,” Haruka replied knowingly “if you girls take care of him I will get our guests back to their rooms.” When she turned around a coy smile lit up her face. `Is it working already grandmother?' She thought as she started towards the rooms exit. “Alright everyone please return to your rooms. There is nothing to see here. Yes he will be fine. I know, we were all scared by his screaming. It o.k. people, you can go back to your rooms.

“Thank you.” The girls said in unison as Haruka's voice faded into the distance.

After Haruka left they began to get him ready for bed. Shinobu brought in some towels to dry him off while Motoko and Naru began undressing him. Meanwhile Mitsune was singing a lullaby to him and Mutsumi prepared his futon. Kaolla-Su got a pair of his pajamas out from his dresser. Kanako kept a close watch on the door to keep them from being disturbed.

At a gasp from Naru and Motoko everyone turned to see the problem and was shocked at the sight before them.

Keitaro was lying there completely naked except for his glasses which were crookedly skewed across his nose. And none of the girls knew what to expect from the body of their shy friend.

His body had become hard from the archeology digs that he had been on. Untold muscle rippled underneath his now taught and burnished skin. He had become quite strong because of all of the labor he had to perform. The only thing that made him look dorky at all was the glasses still perched crookedly on the end of his nose. But that was not the most shocking thing that they saw. That would have to be his Penis.

His manhood was an unexpected and glorious sight to them. A full eight and a half inches long and at least two and a quarter inches around it was the most amazing thing any of them had ever seen. It lay there in a state of semi-arousal from the drying of he had gotten. All of the girls blushed as similar thoughts flashed through their collective minds. For none of then had seen anything quite that impressive, not even the jaded Mitsune.

`Keitaro's hung like a horse and he's built like a Grecian God.' Mitsune thought gasping. Her face began turning red with embarrassment and lust as she wiped an unexpected bit of drool from her lips. `Kami if my first had been hung like that I would have been scared to death. Jeez, just looking at it makes me want to jump his bones. I wonder what he tastes like. Hell I wonder how a monster like that would feel like inside me. Until now I had no idea that my time was wasted with the jokes when I could have been teaching him other things and taking advantage of that.'

`Urashima has truly been gifted by the Kami,' Thought Motoko `And I thought he was seeing something special when he saw me naked. And I told him that he was a baka and a hentai to boot.' Her face began flushing with her untold excitement. `When the time comes for him to mate with Naru I hope he is careful. Most women are not capable of handling a tool of that size.'

`His mating tool is good sized, Kaolla-Su thought puzzling `I wonder if he has ever thought about mating with me.' As her heart began to pound to the ancient cadence of lust, `I know I am going to be jealous of Naru. When a man has that kind of gift he should want to share it. I wonder why he hasn’t.'

`Oh my goodness! Mutsumi thought. How very impressive he is.' Mutsumi sighed as she eyed the engorged man-flesh before her. She wondered how it would taste and feel. `I always wondered how well equipped he was and now I know. I may never get to experience it but at least I know. First chance I get I want to find a man just like him. Ah, who am I kidding, there’s no-one like him.'

`Kami I want him even more now.' Kanako thought as she felt the fires of her lust rise to heat her face. `I should have taken him inside me when we were younger, then I could have that every day. Kami I am so horny for him I could just scream.'

`Keitaro's huge. Keitaro's huge.' Trip hammered through Shinobu's innocent mind. As the thoughts rushing unbidden through her mind matched the quickening pulse in her neck. `I know I love him but that would never fit. How would I ever get that monstrous thing inside of me? It wouldn’t fit in a million years. But I really wouldn’t mind trying.'
`My fiancé's built like that and I never guessed, Kami send me back in time so I don't waste it again. Naru thought passionately. `The first chance I get I will let him see me as I see him now. I wonder how he will react. I would blast him to the moon before and now I cannot wait. Kami, give me strength.'
All of these thoughts washed over them in less than a second.
After they finished their collective blush, they finished getting him ready for sleep. And with a last look at the developing young Adonis lying there they went out and shut off the light.

Keitaro did indeed suffer from a terrible cold for the next week. But each of the girls took their turns watching over his fevered form. Shinobu would bring him his meals. Naru, Mitsune and Mutsumi would rub him down at the heights of his fever when he would get delirious. Kanako would read to him. Motoko would burn incense for him to help him breath, and when she thought no one would interrupt she would give him a shiatsu massage to help relax him.

After that week things slowly got back to almost normal.

Keitaro could not figure out why all of the girls kept blushing around him for no reason. And when he asked his aunt Haruka about it she would just start laughing herself silly for a reason he could not possibly fathom.

Just a little more than two weeks after the funeral there came an early morning knock on the door. Shinobu answered it.

“This is the residence of Urashima, Keitaro is it not?' He asked bowing to her in a most formal manner.

“Y...Yes.” She stammered “Keitaro lives here might I ask what this is about?

“I have urgent business with Mr. Urashima and with all of the residents of these premises. Might I come in?”
“Of course sir,” she said bowing in return “right this way if you would follow me.”
She led him into the kitchen where everyone was gathered for breakfast.
“Do I have the pleasure of addressing Urashima, Keitaro?" the gentleman asked bowing again, this time to the crowd in general. That's when they got the first truly good look at the man

He was an older gentleman probably in his late fifties. His hair had turned gray and was on its way to becoming true silver. His suit was one of the finest tailor made creations. It was a three piece equivalent of a symphony of silk. His waistcoat held a very fine silver pocket watch. He had a pair of archaic gold rimmed spectacles perched upon the ridge of his crooked nose.

“Hai, I am he” replied Keitaro

“You are the manager of these premises, are you not?”

“Hai, I am.”

The gentleman bowed again “My name is Kasagawa, Hiero. And I am here to read and oversee the will of your honored ancestor. If you would be so kind as to gather your tenants, your parents and the guests named Tsuruko and Amara in your sitting room I will begin.

Everyone had gathered 15 minutes later and had gathered around the main table.

“First of all let me tell you how sorry I am to have to be reading this. The Elder Hinata was a very dear friend to everyone that knew her. Her passing will be a sorrow to a lot of people's hearts for a very long time to come. Now down to business this is the last will and testament of your ancestor. It states that the properties owned at her demise shall be divided thusly.” He said showing the will to all

“First to the parents of Master Urashima” He said Bowing to Keitaro's parents. “To you goes five hundred thousand yen per annually. These payments will begin on the beginning of the New Year and will continue until your demise, at which time the rest will go into the payments afforded your son and his family.

They bowed yet remained seated.

“To one Tsuruko, Aoyama” He said bowing low “The honor of a family is most important. For the sake of that honor I have been told to deliver these two scrolls into your hands alone. The first scroll you get now and after you read it you may decline for your family, or you may agree and then get the second scroll.
Everyone waited as Tsuruko read the first scroll and began to worry when a scowl crossed her face. Then everyone breathed a sigh of relief when tears welled up in her eyes as she knelt on the floor. But it floored almost everyone when she bowed thusly to Keitaro and said “The Aoyama Clan suffers the nobility and gladly accepts the Clan Urashima as its Masters. We are in your dept.”

“In that case I am to hand over this other scroll with the advice to use it well.”

“Will Amara elder sister of Kaolla-Su step forward?” he said searching the small room.

Amara glided forward as a skater would on ice.

“True Nobles are lacking in this day and age.” He said kneeling before her and bowing his face to the floor. “The contents of this box and this letter are yours. If you do not agree with what is in the letter please take it out on your humble servant. For master Urashima knows not of his ancestors plans as yet.” He said so others could not hear his voice.

Amara quickly perused the letter and breaking out into a wide grin hugged her little sister tightly saying “The old ways are not completely forgotten and the price is paid.” Then she retreated to a far corner of the room still smiling brightly.

Once the man of law was on his feet again he called out. “Will the parents of Maehara, Shinobu come forward?”

As they stepped forward he handed them a small envelope and said. “This is for your daughter's freedom to use as you see fit. With it comes the message let her chose her own path.”

“Now will the parents of Narusegawa, Naru step forward?” He asked reading off of his list.

When they had come forward he handed them a similar envelope as the first and said “This one is yours with the message love and family are eternal.”

“Now let's see whose next, ah yes.” He muttered then said aloud “Will the parents of Otohime, Mutsumi please come forward?”

When they reached the front he handed them yet another plain envelope and said “This is for you with the message love and spirit are the only true eternals.”

When they had taken their seats he said “Now we are down to the bare bones of the subject, so to speak. Now as for the Hinata properties, lands and any other miscellaneous item are left to her grandson Urashima, Keitaro.”

At this just about everyone fell out of their seats.

“That is not all He also receives into his ownership the following accounts One a local account worth forty five thousand yen. An account in the bank of who’s worth eight hundred and sixty five million yen is now in his name. An account in the bank of worth a total seven million pounds will be in his name by next Tuesday latest. And lastly in the Chase Manhattan bank of Yorkis an account worth one hundred fifty two million in U.S. dollars.”

At this everyone started to talk at once.

“Wha...” Keitaro's parents squeaked.

“Incredible.” Motoko remarked calmly

“Payday!” Mitsune yelled in surprise just before she slapped a hand over her still open mouth.

“What a fortune.” Whispered Shinobu

“What a wonderful surprise” Mutsumi said smiling sweetly as ever.

“Wow!” Kaolla-Su roared, louder than any of them. “What's a million? Can we eat it?”

“This is totally unexpected.” Naru said who was next closest to regaining her composer after Motoko and Mutsumi.

Kanako just stared ahead in a case of mental shock.

Keitaro was the most blown away and just stammered “Daa...Caa...Milll…” as his face turned the color of an unripe plum.

“One moment please? Just one moment please?” said the man of law trying to restore some order to the meeting.

“I think we all had better hear him out.” Said Haruka speaking up for the first time since the meeting began.

“Thank you.” The lawyer said “The thing is there are stipulations in the will that must be adhered to and must be understood, that comes with his with his inheriting the bulk of this estate.”

“Item one: All of the girls must remain in residence for one full year. Barring an emergency for which you just call my office and they will allot extra time depending on the nature of the emergency.”

“This does include you, young lady.” He said pointing to Kanako.

“Item two: All outlying buildings will be repaired and operational within a two year period. I have a list of them and where to find them here.”

“Item three: The Hinata apartments will once again be transformed into the Hinata Hotel and Resort at the end of three years. Said hotel will have a world-wide rating of no less than three stars on the traditional five star scale. The rating must come after the three years of transformation.

“If for any reason, barring disaster or emergency this does not occur within the time frames allotted all property is to be sold at auction and the proceeds divided among the residents and the manager. Does anyone have any questions?” He asked.

“I do,” Keitaro said, visibly shaken. “Why do I get all of this? And all of the cash where was it when we were doing repairs before? As to the outlying buildings how come we didn't know about them until just now, I didn't know there were any?”

“You get it all because this document says so young man.” The lawyer said waving the will “The money was hidden to keep it safe for you when the property became yours. And as to the outlying buildings, NOBODY seemed to know about them until the will surfaced. Will there be any more questions?”

“I have one.” Haruka stated calmly “Would you like some tea or coffee, or do you prefer sake? For now that this unpleasant business is behind us you are now a guest and we must treat you accordingly.”

“Thank you I could use a small portion of sake. It has truly been a trying day.”

Haruka got the sake for the man of law and after drinking it he said “I must be going, but one more thing, each of you has received a personal scroll from the departed and one crystal vial of tea, to be drunk when you read your scrolls.” He then passes out the small vials and handed each of them their scrolls. “Now I must be dashing I have to report back to my superiors that so far the terms of the will have been delivered and are currently being met.”

And with that he left them all to puzzle out what Grandma Hina had planned for them.
