Love Potion Fujiko Mine

(Lupin III isn't mine and I really don't own anything else either. Lupin and Jigen hear about a love potion worth its weight in gold and decide to steal it.)

Part One: On The Wind

Lupin looked through the smoke at the end of his cigarette as he rested his chin in his hand. He could hear the shortwave radio in the other room but he wasn't paying much attention to it. It had been a rather slow week and nothing worth stealing had been brought to his interest. Every once in a while, he could hear Jigen mutter a curse as he cleaned his gun.

Lupin's mind wandered to it's other favorite subject besides heisting expensive loot and he smiled, a cone of ashes falling from the end of his cigarette as he did. He wondered if he wanted something to steal because of whom he would see if the heist were big enough. He shut his eyes and he could almost see Fujiko in his mind, right down to the last luscious curve. He sighed, wondering what the busty brunette was up to.

" Lupin! You stupid idiot! " Jigen shouted. " The chair is on fire! "

Lupin opened his eyes and screamed. He hadn't smelled the smoke but he knew he'd better move or lose his new red jacket. Thinking quickly, he tried to slap the flames out with his hand but it didn't work. He turned to yell at Jigen to get a fire extinguisher or a bucket of water but quickly found out that Jigen was two steps ahead of him.

Jigen fired the fire extinguisher, covering the chair and Lupin with white foam. He smirked once the fire was out, obviously ignoring the look of murder on Lupin's face. " All that's missing now is a cherry on top, " Jigen chuckled.

" Very funny, " Lupin snarled.

Jigen frowned, " I could have let you burn up. What the hell were you doing anyway? I shouted for you twice. "

Lupin blinked, " Um, I must have fallen asleep. "

" It must be something in the air. I was dozing off out there, " Jigen motioned over his shoulder. " I was just about to fall asleep when I heard something on the radio that caught my ear. "

Lupin stopped wiping fire foam from his clothes and arched an eyebrow. " What was that? "

Jigen smirked again, " A scientist has developed an extremely powerful love potion that really works. "

Lupin laughed, " A love potion? That's ridiculous! "

Jigen put up his hand, " Just listen to me. I laughed too but then the guy on the radio told about how good it is. This stuff works so well, it's become a hot commodity. People are laying down their life savings for bottles that aren't even a half an ounce. "

Lupin's eyes lit up, " Really? "

" Yep. We're talking about something worth more than gold, " Jigen nodded.

" I think we've found our next heist, " Lupin announced. " We have to find out where the stuff is stored and get a hold of Goemon. "

" There's no need for that, " Goemon said as he entered the room.

" Goemon? " Lupin and Jigen said at the same time, surprised to see the samurai.

" Do you just teleport places whenever you hear your name? " Jigen asked.

" I think he's learned to become invisible, " Lupin whispered to Jigen from behind his hand.

" No and no, " Goemon said calmly.

" Then why are you here? " Lupin asked. " You haven't decided to kill me, have you? "

Goemon shut his eyes, " No. I'm here because I heard about that supposed love potion. Once I heard about how many people are squandering their money on it, I knew it was only a matter of time before you would be going after it. "

" Do you know anything about it besides what they told on the radio? " Jigen asked.

Goemon nodded once, " I have heard where it is being kept. It is also where they are keeping the profits from its sale. "

" Perfect! " Lupin smiled. " Just as long as we get there before Fujiko and Pops, everything will be cake! "

Goemon opened his eyes, " Then we'd better get moving. I heard Inspector Zenigata is in this town. I also have heard Fujiko is already on her way to the island where the potion and the money are kept. "

Jigen and Lupin looked at each other then at Goemon. " Where do you get all your information anyway? " Jigen asked.

" I hear it on the wind, " Goemon looked towards the window. " I hear it just like those sirens that are coming this way. "

" Oh shit! " Lupin shouted when he heard the sirens himself. " Let's get out of here! "

Inspector Zenigata was out of the patrol car even before it had come to a full stop, his bullhorn firmly in hand. He looked up at the five-story hotel he had heard Lupin was staying at and started to shout. " Lupin!!! I've found you and I'm not letting you get away this time! Come out with your hands up!!! "

Silence enveloped the street once Zenigata was finished yelling. He narrowed his eyes, waiting for Lupin to make his move but there didn't seem to be any movement except for the breeze that was blowing. Zenigata growled and clenched his fist, turning to the officers that were waiting for instruction.

" He's trying to make us think he's not here but I know Lupin, " Zenigata pointed towards the hotel. " He's in there somewhere and we're going to find him! Move out and don't leave a single room unchecked! "

Zenigata and the officers stormed the building. General mayhem ensued as the officers kicked in every door and did as they were told, checking every room whether it was occupied or not. All of them were so busy; they never even noticed when a white Volkswagen Beetle zoomed past the building, two of the occupants laughing as the third just sat in the back seat with half a grin curving his lips.
