"Exc use me, your name is Clef right? Doushi Clef?" A young woman that appeared to be of no older than twenty approached the old sorcerer. She had short silver hair that only came to her delicately pointed chin. Her wide, dewy eyes were of a brilliant shining violet, flecked with peach. She wore a simple garment of tan colored pants and an off the shoulder shirt, dyed a vibrant shade of purple.
"Yes?" Clef turned around slowly, his age finally slowing him down. However, his appearance had not changed much over the years. Perhaps his hair was a little lighter, his eyes not so bright. In the presence of the young woman, he looked decidedly faded and worn.
"My name is Shira, I've come to ask you a favor." Shira bowed low to the ground, and rose up only halfway, a great show of deep respect.
"What is it?" Clef asked wearily, leaning on his staff slightly.
"Would you please..."

"O I! Chiharu! Over here! I saved your spot!" Nadia yelled across the cafeteria, as she waved her arms in wide movements, attempting to get the attention of the other girl, and succeeded in getting nearly the entire buildings eyes on her.
"Ah...Nadia-chan, you don't really have to yell like that..." Chiharu said, situating herself next to Nadia and hoping that the people who stared and whispered at them would just return to their individual lunches.
"Sorry, sweetie, but I wanted to make sure you could see me." Nadia smiled and scooted closer to her girlfriend possessively. Her bright blond hair bounced enthusiastically, and her even brighter blue eyes sparkled with mischief and...something else. There was something about the fact that Nadia was unusually happy and possessive that really bothered Chiharu, only she couldn't quite explain what it was.
"I understand that part, but, uh...lets not announce to the entire world that we're here, okay? It's the first day and I want to make a better impression on these people than last year, it's high school from here on out." Chiharu said, slipping an arm around Nadia's waist as she spoke so that Nadia wouldn't feel any rejection from her words. Nadia sighed, and her voice signaled something similar to resignation. Chiharu frowned internally. She recognized what that was...the last time that that had happened with Nadia...
"All right, whatever you think is best. I guess that it would be better...but, I couldn't help it."
"I'm not blaming you Nadia! So just help me eat me lunch, okay? Hmm...HEY! When did you get that chocolate cake?!" Chiharu yelled, joking and laughing with Nadia, as she tried to get the chocolate cake away from her girlfriend's hands. However, her mind was elsewhere...

< br> "Excuse me. Pardon me. I'm sorry." Niricia apologized as she pushed her way through the crowd, trying to get to the end of the snack bar line without just shoving everyone out of her way.
"Hey, no cutting!"
"Oh, is this the end of the line?" Niricia asked nicely, smiling.
"Yeah, it is. So behind me lady."
"Of course." Niricia said gracefully, and took her place at the end.
"Wow, that girl is really polite!" Nadia said to her friend, Kaci.
"Yeah, I know. What a show off..." Kaci said scornfully.
"Yeah, geez. Who talks like that anymore anyways? Sheesh..." Nadia said, assuming that she was out of Niricia's range of hearing.
She wasn't.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" Tai! Come on! Eat your lunch, dude!"
"Yeah, look, I know you love to play soccer man, but there's time for food too!"
"All right, just one more lap around the field and fifteen more goal kicks and I'm done, okay?" Tai offered, finishing a bicycle kick and getting up, ready to start on the lap.
"By the time you finish, lunch will be over!" His friends whined at him, but Tai just threw back his patented "So?" grin over his shoulder and kept running.
"Geez...that guy! Keisuke, you should dump him, you guys never ever spend any time together anymore." One of Tai's rivals for Keisuke said, sliding closer to Keisuke, who found himself unable to argue back. Then, shrugging his shoulders and flinging his golden blond hair over his shoulder in a flirty way he looked at the other boy through his long lashes, his green-blue eyes twinkled dangerously.
"But, if I dump him, who's gonna keep me warm at night?" The other boy grinned.
"I think I could qualify." Keisuke pulled the boy closer, by his collar.
"Maybe." Keisuke said and preceded to French kiss the other boy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"No! " Clef said vehemently.
"Please Clef, it's my only option!" Shira begged, her gorgeous amethyst eyes filling with a liquid that closely resembled blood.
"No! Not again! I refuse." Clef looked away, his hair hiding his eyes from the world. He would not see three more lives ruined so easily...not even for HIM.
"Then...I will do it myself."
"No! Shira, you can't!" Clef raised his staff, but Shira's eyes shown like sparks of flint in the dark, and he caved.
"Yes, I can! Don't you even think of stopping me Clef! He deserves more than this!" Shira screamed, the crimson streaks that ran down her face making her look demonic and dangerous, and her once violet eyes becoming darker and darker until the only word left to describe them was "scarlet".
"No! Don't!" Clef said, but the door that led to his office was slammed shut as Shira disappeared behind it. Wanting to run after her, but his duty and his age binding him to stay, Clef let his head slump down and he closed his eyes to the world.

" Man...what a crummy day..." Tai muttered, as he walked through the crowds after school.
"You can say THAT again..." The girl next to him murmured.
"What?" Tai asked, his eyes widening, he hadn't thought that anyone had heard him.
"Oh, I was just implying that my day probably sucked as much as yours did."
"I see...I doubt that, and actually hope that it didn't, but whatever. Say, what's your name?" Tai gave the girl a friendly grin and held out his hand.
"Oh, it's Chiharu, Ki Chiharu." Chiharu said, shaking his hand.
"I'm Tai, Nakumoto Tai."
"Hajimemashite Nakumoto."
"Yoroshiku."
"So, Nakumoto, what made your day horrible?" Chiharu asked sociably as she realized that they were both headed in the same direction, at the same time she noticed that a girl was walking alone only a couple paces ahead.
"Well, it was-" Tai began, but Chiharu interrupted him.
"Hold that thought, please. Hey! You, girl! Are you walking this way?" Chiharu asked, and the girl turned around surprised.
"Ah...yes, yes I am." The girl asked, and she stopped to let Chiharu and Tai catch up. The three walked in a straight row, with Tai in the middle.
"I'm Ki Chiharu, this is Nakumoto Tai; we just met. What's your name?"
"Oh, my name is Rou Niricia. Hajimemashite." Niricia said politely, inclining her head.
"Great, now that we're all buds, continue on Nakumoto!" Chiharu bubbled cheerfully.
"Um, 'Tai' is just fine you know. Well, I was just saying that my day really sucked because...well...um, you see..." Noticing that both girls were giving him their undivided attention Tai decided to just let it all go.
"Well, first off, my homeroom teacher Nakaharo is just a BITCH. That guy needs to go on some medication or something. Second off, the soccer team here just blows...oh, I'm a big soccer guy, so that really gets to me. Then, today at lunch, I caught my boyfriend cheating on me...oh; I'm gay by the way. Yeah, and then, I found out that my last class is Math, my worst subject, and I have my ex and his new boyfriend in that class."
"I see...dude, that's almost as bad as my day." Chiharu said, shaking her head and putting a compassionate hand on Tai's shoulder.
"I'm sorry that that happened to you Mr. Nakumoto." Niricia said, her face solemn and sad.
"It's really not THAT bad, I guess. And like I said, just call me Tai." Tai said, regaining his cheerfulness.
"What happened to you, Ki-san?"
"Oh, Chiharu is fine. Well, my girlfriend is being way too clinging this year, oh I'm a lesbian, and dude...the last time she did that to her other girlfriend, they ended up breaking up. I knew that she would be getting a little itchy, you know, looking around, but man...anyways, then I met up with my ex, and she just totally started in on how she wants to give it another chance...and then one of my old teachers that I played a REALLY dumb prank on is my homeroom teacher...yeah, it wasn't exactly what I would label as a 'nice first day'. Oh, on top of that, I ripped my uniform today. See?" Chiharu pointed at the hem of her skirt, where a hole had appeared. "I'm a big volleyball chick." Chiharu said, with a smile at Tai.
"Soccer is better, you know."
"RIGHT." Chiharu rolled her eyes. Niricia laughed.
"Hey, Niricia, did anything happen to you today or are you just a normal wandered that just got caught up in the conversation of two loonies?"
"Hey! I resent that! I'm the only TRUE loony here!" Tai said, elbowing Chiharu.
"I think that you and I are standing on the threshold of a very BI-zarre friendship!" Chiharu said, winking at Tai. (This refers to the fact that since Chiharu is a lesbian, and Tai is gay, together they make a bi. Hee hee! ^_^v)
"Hahaha! That was good, let me see if I can think of any..." Tai said.
"Wait, I wanna hear if Niricia had a bad day or not!" Chiharu said, but Niricia was laughing to hard to say anything in return.
Then...

"Oh Mighty Heavens! You who guide us in all that we do! Oh Great Pillar Hikaru! You, whose wisdom spans the ages, help us! Your people require the use of the ones known as the Magic Knights! Help us! Densetsu no Majikku Naito-tachi! (Legendary Magic Knights)"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then a white light filled the sky. The light penetrated the three figures walking, and gathered around them like fireflies around a lamp. The ground begun to cave inwards and the three teenagers were sucked into the earth.
When they dared to open their eyes, they realized that they were falling from unimaginable heights.
"HOLY SHIT!" Tai screamed, his voice lost in the wind.
"OH MY GOD!" Chiharu exclaimed, and frantically tried to keep her skirt down, she had a bizarre and out of place thought that she had to stay faithful to Nadia while she still could.
"Oh dear..." Niricia said, almost calmly.
"OII!! CHIHARU!!" Tai yelled at Chiharu, trying to get her attention. She noticed him and nodded, although she did not hear his words. Her eyes were squinted against the wind, but she 'swam' towards him and he grabbed her in a bear hug.
"ARE YOU OKAY?!" Chiharu screamed into Tai's ear.
"YEAH! YOU?"
"I'M ALL RIGHT! WHERE'S NIRICIA?!" Tai glanced around at Chiharu's question.
"THERE!" Tai pointed, his arm shaken by the wind.
"NIRICIA!!" Chiharu waved her arms at Niricia, who finally saw her and followed Chiharu's example of 'swimming' through air. Tai grabbed onto Niricia's left hand and Chiharu grabbed her right, and then Chiharu and Tai linked their own hands.
"WHERE THE FUCK ARE WE?!" Tai yelled, after a quick glance around.
"NO IDEA!" Chiharu yelled back. Niricia shook her head, and looked down. She let go of Tai's hand to point towards the earth, where a huge butterfly was hovering, waiting for them to land.
"HOLY SHIT!" Tai reiterated.
"WHAT IS THAT?!" Chiharu asked. The three landed surprisingly gently, the butterfly's wings shielded most of the wind.
"Oh my God...that has got to be the most nerve-wracking thing that I've ever done in my whole, freaking, entire life." Chiharu said, shaking a little from the adrenaline and the cold.
"Yeah..." Tai said, and offered his jacket to Chiharu and Niricia. Niricia declined politely, and Chiharu accepted gratefully.
"Excuse me, but may I be the first to point out that we are no longer in Tokyo?" Niricia said smiling and pointing at the exotic landscape.
"Oh my..." Tai started.
"...dear fricking lord..." Chiharu finished.
Well, it's not too much of a beginning, but there it is! ^_^ A Rayearth fanfic! Yay. You'll notice that although I allude to characters that were in the original manga (oh, that's right, I'm not basing my fanfic on the anime, just the manga. ^_^ easier that way...) only Clef has been presented. It's a lot like how it was in the manga (flying fish~butterfly), but with some minor differences. I hope you stick around for the next chapter! ^-^v
