Marvel Avengers Fan Fiction ❯ Talia's story ❯ 6: Revelations ( Chapter 6 )

[ A - All Readers ]

“HYDRA doesn’t like leaks.” Sitwell commented as Sam drove them to the Triskelion. “So why don’t you try sticking a cork in it.” Sam snapped.

Natasha leaned forward to Steve’s front seat, “Insight’s launching in sixteen hours. We’re cutting it a little bit close here.”

Steve glanced at Sitwell, “I know. We’ll use him to bypass the DNA scans and access the Helicarriers directly.” Sitwell gasped, “What?! Are you crazy?”

Sam rolled his eyes as Sitwell continued to complain, “That is a terrible, terrible idea–”

Suddenly, something lands on the roof of the car and a metal hand breaks the window Sitwell was closest to. The hand grabs Sitwell by the clothes and throws him out of the car and onto the other side of the highway. And in a few seconds, Sitwell is gone.

Natasha watches with slight horror on her face at the revelation of who it is.

The Winter Soldier starts shooting at the car from above. Natasha climbs onto Steve’s lap when shots are fired at the backseat.

Steve thinks fast and pulls the hand-break of the car, causing the Winter Soldier to lose balance and fly forward. He lands and uses his metal hand to scrap the road in order to lose momentum.

He slowly lets go of the road after making five scraps on the road. He slowly gets up, revealing his black mask and eye protection. “So that’s the Winter Soldier.” Steve states, his first time seeing the man who attempted to assassinate Fury.

“Who?” Sam asks, clueless.

He continues to stand there, as the cars avoid their car, which was at a complete stop. Natasha aims her gun at him, but an armored vehicle crashes into them from behind. Not by accident.

The gun that Natasha held drops to the floor of the car as it is pushed forward by the vehicle behind. The Winter Soldier does a flip and lands on the car. Sam slams on the breaks as Natasha reaches her hand down, frantically searching for her gun.

The Winter Soldier had lost his patience and punches the windshield, breaking the glass, grabs the steering wheel and rips it off. Natasha finally found her gun and starts shooting the roof of the car.

The Winter Soldier jumps to the front of the vehicle behind, which nudges the car, causing it to lose control. Without the steering wheel, the car hits the highway barriers on both sides, out of control.

“Hang on!” Steve shouts as he pushes his shield against the door and grabs Natasha and Sam. He pushes out and the three of them are airborne for a moment before they land on the road, sliding on the shield, which rests on the car door that came out.

Sam falls off and rolls on the road while Steve and Natasha still cling on to the broken car door. The armored vehicle stops with a halt and the Winter Soldier jumps off.

Steve and Natasha are quick to get on their feet as they see the Winter Soldier being handed a bazooka by one of the HYDRA soldiers.

The Winter Soldier is fast to take aim and shoot Steve and Natasha. Steve pushes Natasha out of the way and she runs in that direction. Steve crouches and shields himself, but the bazooka is stronger and throws him over the highway bridge.

He lands inside a bus, which distracts the bus driver, making the bus crash into another big vehicle. The bus flips and lands on its side.

Meanwhile on the highway, the HYDRA soldiers continue to shoot and walk towards a car where Natasha and Sam are hiding. The said two run to find cover behind the damaged cars.

Natasha retaliates by shooting a few bullets at the soldiers, but the Winter Soldier shoots his bazooka and Natasha is forced to retreat to the other side of the highway. She rolls out of the way of incoming cars and runs behind damaged cars.

As she runs, the Winter Soldier aims his gun and shoots at the car she was behind. The car explodes and sends her over the bridge, but she manages to get a grappling hook, landing safely under the bridge.

The Winter Soldier placed the bazooka away as a HYDRA soldier handed him a hand-machine gun. He stalked to the side of the bridge and aimed his gun, waiting for Natasha to run out from under the bridge.

Natasha saw the shadow of the Winter Soldier, ready to shoot her. A quick plan formed in her head.

The Winter Soldier thought he saw a glance of her, raising his gun. But Natasha was right under the bridge, and she fired four bullets, one of which hit his eye protection goggles and he dodged the rest.

He rested at the side of the highway as he slowly removed his goggles. A glimmer of hatred passed in his eyes before they returned to the emotionless expression.

He got up and started shooting where Natasha was. But the latter was safe as she had found a good hiding spot. When the Winter Soldier spotted her, he fired multiple bullets as Natasha sprinted away from the highway.

“Она моя, найди его. Возьми Спектра.” (Russian: She’s mine, find him. Get Spectre.) The Winter Soldier told the HYDRA soldier beside him, the latter nodding.

The Winter Soldier jumped off the highway and landed on a fallen car, unfazed. He continued to stalk off and find Natasha.

Steve notices the Winter Soldier in pursuit of Natasha. He knew she wouldn’t stand a chance. His worried expression didn’t go past Sam. “Go, I got this!” Sam shouted. Steve nodded and jumped after the assassin.

When Sam got away from the soldiers, he tried to get back to their car to get his wings. When he finally saw the overturned car, he ran to it. But a girl stepped in his path, making him stop.

She wore a tight leather jacket and pants. She had a surgical mask on her face and her face was scrunched up with worry. “Help me!” She shouted at him, clawing at him for him to pay attention.

“Alright, alright, what happened?” He slowed down and took a good look at her. “What do you need help with?” He asked again when she failed to respond, simply staring at him. “Hey, don’t lose consciousness now!” Sam told her when she started blinking rapidly.

“Lose consciousness?” She asked in a small voice.

He narrowed his eyes in confusion. What was going on with her? He placed two hands on her shoulders. “Look, I can’t help you if you don’t tell me–” Sam got cut off by her raising an elbow and hitting his shoulder, effectively knocking him out.

“Now who’s unconscious?” She mocked.

Looking around, she stood up and dragged Sam by his arm to where the HYDRA soldiers were. “Привет!” (Hey!) She shouted.

They turned to her and nodded, placing Sam’s body in a van. “Отвези его вниз. Встретимся там.” (Drive him down. I’ll meet you there.) She ordered them. Spectre looked around at the street below the highway, scouting for the Winter Soldier.

Back at the street, the Winter Soldier threw the shield at Steve, who dodged it, allowing the shield to be stuck in a van’s back door. Steve ran at the Winter Soldier, who took out a knife and flipped it, before fighting with it.

Steve focused on deflecting the knife for several moments, as the Winter Soldier sliced the air and flipped the knife to the best grip for him. Steve grabbed his arm and pushed it away, but it didn’t work.

They fought with the knife in the Winter Soldier’s possession continuously. When Steve finally hit the Winter Soldier’s cheek, the latter was dazed for a moment. That was all the time needed for Steve to throw a kick to his stomach, making him fly back into a van.

Both of them were matched in skill, though the Winter Soldier had a small advantage of his metal arm. They fought like they were dancing.

Until the Winter Soldier pulled out another knife, though this one wasn’t as slim as the previous. Steve was resisting his force to stab him, and turned it to the side such that the knife pierced the van door.

The whirring of the metal arm was evidently heard as the Winter Soldier slid the knife towards Steve, but Steve just kept moving to the side. Steve got the metal arm over his head, and he snaked his arms around the other’s torso.

Throwing him backwards, Steve jumped back up and grabbed his shield from the van that it was stuck on. He used it to deflect the Winter Soldier’s knife. The knife dropped from the assassin’s right hand to his left when it was blocked.

Then the Winter Soldier managed to land a punch on Steve’s face. He followed it by attempting to kick Steve, but the Captain dodged it and grabbed his metal arm, turning him around and landing a hit on the metal with the shield.

He then let the shield go forward and hit the Winter Soldier’s face. He grabbed the Winter Soldier’s chin from under his arm and flipped him over.

When the soldier landed with a roll, his mask came out. Steve paused as he kept his eyes on the assassin. But when the Winter Soldier turned around, Steve untensed his figure and stood up properly, still staring at the assassin in shock.

Steve was panting as he stared at him. A good ten seconds passed before he uttered a word, which sounded more like a question.

“Bucky?”

The Winter Soldier had a hint of confusion on his face, but it quickly passed as he asked back, “Who the hell is Bucky?” He stalked towards Steve. But someone behind the Captain shouted, “Steve!”

Steve turned his head around, only to see a figure in the air, coming towards him. Too late.

Spectre grabbed him and rolled on the ground with him. She took out a knife from her pocket and slashed at Steve, who barely dodged each hit.

When they came to a stop, she wasted no time and wrapped her thighs around his neck, blocking his windpipe.

Steve gasped for air as he felt himself suffocating. Natasha had grabbed a nearby gun and fired multiple times at the pair, but Spectre expertly dodged all of them, while still holding on to Steve.

Spectre saw a weak spot and stabbed Steve’s arm, twisting it to make Steve cry out in pain.

When Steve found the right angle, he shot his elbow back and hit her stomach. She immediately let go to recover from the hit. Steve stood up immediately and aimed at her with his shield.

Sliding out in time, the shield hit the ground, cracking it.

Spectre panted through her surgical mask, opting to remove it so she could fight better. When Steve saw her face, he nearly dropped his shield as he nearly had the shock of his life the second time that day.

“Talia?” Both Natasha and Steve felt their hearts drop at the teenage girl that stood in front of them.

Spectre tilted her head but showed no emotion. She ran at Steve, flipping and performing a handstand to kick him in the chest. When she landed, she wasted no time in taking out her hand-gun, pointing it at him and firing.

He raised his shield to protect himself, but the shield is not big enough. She immediately aimed down and a bullet pierced his foot. Steve groaned loudly and crouched down to cover his full body.

Spectre sees Natasha aiming the bazooka at the Winter Soldier and makes a portal such that she is able to be close enough to push him away in time.

The car that the two assassins were beside exploded in smoke and fire. Steve looks back at the area, but there is no sign of them. Ghost story.

As Steve continued to stare, trucks and trucks of HYDRA soldiers arrived, surrounding them. Rumlow appears with the soldiers, “Drop the shield, Cap! Get on your knees!”

Steve drops his shield and raises his hands in surrender. “Now! Get down! Get down!” Rumlow orders.

The three heroes are stuck in secure cuffs within seconds.

As for this chapter, come now...I wouldn't be great author without leaving a cliff-hanger right? Will be updating soon! Feel free to leave comments and feedback!!!
