Chapter Two:Those challenged few
Admist a rubble covered former battleground the Gundam Maxter landed. 'This is where the letter said exactly to meet.' the pilot, Chibodee Crocket, thought to himself. It seemed odd to him that he was actually obeying this odd letter he had been sent. Shrugging it off he looked around. No one was there. The cockpit of his Mobile Fighter opened and he stepped out of his Gundam, looking around. He then noticed something in the air. Another Mobile Fighter. "Dragon Gundam! So it was you, Sai?!" Chibodee questioned. He hadn't thought the the now twenty year old would call him out like this.
As Sai's Gundam landed he also stepped outside the cockpit, staring perplexed at Chibodee. "What are you talking about? I thought you called me out. I got a letter telling me to come here." Sai explained, lifting up his letter. "Well, whoever called the two of us knew I was Club Ace." he explained. This was rather odd, Sai had been sure that Chibodee had written this letter and told him to come here. "Are you sure you're not the one who came here and challenged me Chibodee!?" he questioned, shouting to the other Gundam fighter who rolled his eyes, sighing.
Without warning the Bolt Gundam suddenly descended from the sky, landing between the two. "Well if neither of you sent for me, then who was it?" Argo asked in question, crossing his arms over his chest and exiting his Gundam. "I didn't come out here for a mystery, I'm supposed to have a match." he explained, holding up the letter which was addressed to him, just as Chibodee and Sai had both gotten them. "This is rather strange, calling out three of the members of the Shuffle Alliance at once like this. Is this person insane..?" Argo asked himself, but aloud so the others could hear.
"You do mean four of the members, do you not good sir?" George question as his Gundam Rose landed gracefully on one knee, while George exited and stood on the right hand of his Mobile Fighter. "I, too, was officially challenged. This is so odd, the Gundam Fight is still six full months away from now." George said, crossing his arms over his chest, sighing a little to himself. "I feel that we should be aware of the situation we are all in. Four fighters unknowing of what lies before us, we must be careful." the knight said, looking to his fellow Shuffle partners, who all nodded in agreement.
And the a bolt of light seemed to come from across the sky, another Mobile fighter. Each of the Shuffle Alliance members assumed it was their enemy, and all headed into the cockpits of their Gundams. But, suddenly, the Nobel Gundam descended to the ground, while Allenby exited her cockpit staring confusedly at the other Gundams. "You guys are who challenged me..? Isn't that a little unfair boys? I'm good but I can't take out all four of you at once!" Allenby joked. Each of the four fighters once more exited their suits and blinked. "How are you guys doin'? I haven't seen you in so long!" Allenby then froze. "I..is Domon here too...?" she asked. unlike the Shuffle Alliance, Allenby had no clue Rain and Domon were long over.
George spoke first. "No, good madam, he is not. We just assumed you had challenged us until you remarked like that. Once we saw your suit, I guess we all just assumed too much." George explained sheepishly, ruffling his fiery mop of hair a bit. "Forgive me for assuming, madam." he said, bowing his head, causing Chibodee and Sai to all laugh at the knight.
Allenby just smiled. "Hey, calm down George, it's cool. You know it takes a lot to make me upset!" the blue haired girl commented cheerfully. "So, you guys were all challenged too? That's weird, who would be dumb enough to challenged the Shuffle Alliance and me? Must have a death wish." she commented, crossing her arms over her breasts. Allenby was now a twenty year old young woman, but still looked as youthful and beautiful as ever. You really couldn't tell any of them had aged, other than Sai who was quite taller, but just as happy go lucky and innocent as ever.
"It's weird that someone would call us out and wuss out." Chibodee said, grumbling a lot. "This is so stupid, I have a lot of cars to go fix and I bothered coming out here to nothing! Oh well..it was nice seeing you guys. I think I'm just gonna head home." he said, and once his Gundam moved once more a beam saber suddenly stung itself into the ground, blade dug half way into the ground, nearly having hit the left leg of Gundam Maxter. "Hey! What the Hell was that!?! Who the Hell did that!?!?!" Chibodee yelled, pulling Maxter's pistols, aiming into the air, but seeing nothing.
All the other fighters quickly made their way into their Gundams, only to see something hovering over them, but right in the sun's light, making it invisble to them. "However that guy is up there... he has some nerve!" Allenby yelled, pulling her Gundam's beaam ribbon, but still she couldn't see her target. It was almost invisible, save the mere outline of that Gundam...which just wasn't enough to use as a target. "You better come down here buddy so we can kick your ass!" she shouted loudly, growling a bit because of how angered she was because of this fighter.
Hearing the so called order, the Gundam did descend, landing right in between the circle of Mobile Fighters. This is when it became clear who this fighter was. The fighter of Neo Japan, given the title of King of Hearts. Domon Kasshu, and his Burning Gundam. "Nice to see you all made it." Domon said softly, crossing his arms over his chest, causing Burning Gundam to do the same before Domon exited his Mobile Fighter. "Sorry to play this little game, but I had to make sure you guys were all going to come and see me here." Domon explained, smiling a little as the other fighters exited their Gundams just as he had. "And I knew if I planned it here in New York Chibodee would surely get off his butt and come." he joked, smirking a little.
Allenby, however, wasn't too thrilled to see Domon, while the other Fighters couldn't control their happiness. Allenby was waiting for some kind of horrible announcement like 'Everyone, Rain and I are getting married.' Or, 'Rain and I just had our first kid.' Anything that would just send Allenby away. She still hadn't found anyone who meant as much to her as Domon had. As much as Domon still did. "So where's Rain, Domon..?" Allenby forced herself to say, and suddenly noticed the grim faces of the four fighters of the Shuffle Alliance, while the King of Hearts tried not to say anything. "What did I say...?" she asked, her green eyes blinking numerous times confusedly.
"Allenby, I tried to find you before but I couldn't til now, so you didn't know. Me and Rain aren't together anymore. She took a job in Korea as a doctor about two and a half years ago." Domon explained. Allenby's face changed from totally depressed to just slightly saddened. She felt horrible now. She had broken off a deep friendship for this long over something that was long finished. "Anyway...that's the past, I called you guys here for a reason. The fourteenth Gundam fight is coming up, and, though we are the Shuffle Alliance, as well as all six of us being friends, we will be pitted against one another. I want all of us to make a pact right here and now." Domon said, calling each of the fighters over to him, which they quickly obeyed and hopped onto the hand of the Burning Gundam with him. Extending his hand out to the others, they all formed a circle. "Until the battle royal, we'll all win each match we take place in, and no matter what, one of us will be the winner of the Gundam Fight." Domon said.
"But, Domon...you're the champion, you won't have matches til the battle royal...and I thought you despised this sort of thing. You only competed last year..." George said, but stopped.
Domon smirked. "Hey, it's a good chance to hone my skills, I'm not in this for all that political garbage. And I put my title up, it's vacant this year." he explained. "Now people, promise me." he said. Each placed their hands over his and nodded. "One of us will win the tournament this year." Domon said.
"This year I'm going to beat you, bro!" Sai commented.
Chibodee grinned. "Not before me!"
"No, I believe I shall win this year for Ms. Marie-Louise." George said confidently.
"You'll all feel bad when you lose to me." Argo commented.
"Nah, you're all losing to me!" Allenby retorted.
A cry of four "No way!" 's came once Allenby said that, and Domon laughed.
"Hey...guys, you know, thanks for coming." Domon said smiling weakly.
"Bro, we all know how hard it's been since Sis left. You've been through Hell, but you've got the five of us to hang around with. Right guys?" Sai questioned.
Allenby quickly answered. "I'm always here for you, Domon!" and when she realized what she had said she blushed slightly. Domon, of course, was oblivious to this, since he was never too fast catching onto matters of love.
"Geez...get a room you two." Chibodee muttered.
"Nani?" Domon said blinking. "What do you mean Chibodee?"
Each of the Shuffle Alliance members sweatdropped and shook their heads. Domon was never all that swift on the uptake....they had to excuse him for this....well, they were nice enough to.
"Um....Domon, what are you gonna do tonight?" Allenby asked softly, sweatdropping, knowing the Shuffle Alliance was immediately laugh.
"Nothing, probably get a hotel around here for the night." Domon explained.
'They're going to laugh at me...but...might as well ask him anyway.' Allenby thought. "Want to go out to dinner together, Domon?" she asked, waiting for Chibodee or Sai to laugh, but nothing came. That was a surprise...oh well. She should have known the Shuffle Alliance wouldn't laugh, they were her friends as much as they were Domon's, she was just being a little scared. She was supposed to be stronger than this...what was wrong with her today?
"Oh, sure Allenby, I'd love to. It'll give us time to catch up, since I haven't seen you in so long. It's pretty late already, so why don't we go now?" Domon asked, totally forgetting the others were there. But, they knew what was going to happen and had decided to head out anyway, taking their Gundams and heading off. "Well, shall we be going then, Allenby?" Domon asked, holding his arm out to her.
"Sure...Domon..." she said, blushing as she took his arm as the two hopped down from the Gundam and headed into town...
*~*~*~*
Allenby's still in love...but Domon still seems fairly broken up about Rain...what will happen..?
