So what happens when you shove a bunch of characters from various anime into one world, accuse them of being evil, and ship them off to another planet? Insanity, of course. This story was written as a part of Project Evill, an experiment I'm conducting to prove that darkness and evil do not always go together and to define exactly what evil is.

"It is true, the rumor which I am sure you have by now heard, the rumor that the Dark Ones have been infiltrating our communities, tainting our children and usurping our carefully laid plans for peace. The ones we had thought banished stand silently behind us, merely waiting for the opportunity to reveal themselves and destroy all that we have striven for. But it is not over, my people. Our efforts shall not be in vain.

 

"Though I know it will be difficult, I must urge you to remain calm. To panic is simply to alert the enemy to weakness. You must remember that the enemy could be hidden anywhere: your best friend, neighbors... even your own spouse could be one of them. For the sake of the children, we must rise up together and destroy this Evil once and for all.

 

"No one person can hope to challenge this enemy alone. What we need from you is your help, for we must weed out the spies so that we can stop the corruption from where it stems. Any abnormal activity must be reported; no demons or other foreign species known to be Dark can be trusted regardless of what they swear their allegiances to be. Those of the Light species who betray their own must also be reported, especially those learning Dark powers. Even halflings and children must be reported for their own good.

 

"We are still determining how best to protect our community as a whole from the suspected attacks. At this time, however, we cannot deny that matters may very well come to war. Regardless of what is to come, we must remain united; always remember: light shall always triumph over the dark, and goodness will forever conquer evil."

Do not delude yourself; you should know better than anyone the uncertainty of the current situation. However, I still believe such measures are necessary and will take them with or without your support. Genius or no, you should still remember your place in society.

 

It is of the utmost importance that we weed out the infection before it has the chance to cultivate and spread, and if in doing so some of the innocent are harmed, it is a risk we will have to take. There are enough children, especially halflings with the potential to perform more dark acts than any of the pure bloods before them. You cannot try to deny that.

We regret to inform you of our failure involving Mission *****. Apparently, even in their fledgling states, the Mimousai are too strong to be eliminated outright. As far as our studies have shown, most are completely unaware of the subconscious protection they possess, but as they age they become self-aware, thus evolving and becoming an actual threat to the community.

 

There is also another, smaller percentage of them who do not manifest any powers at birth, nor does their appearance indicate anything abnormal about the youngling. It is not till they come of age, usually around the time of puberty, that these creatures are exposed. At this point, a violent explosion of power will consume the subject in a way that can have devastating effects on the surroundings. In almost every case where this phenomena was present, the creature was found to revert to a more primitive form, albeit one with extraordinary levels of power. They were also found to hold an extreme bitterness towards the Children of the Light.

 

At this time, we have not discovered foolproof methods to eliminate alpha types or to identify beta types. We believe that it may in fact be impossible to do more than weaken alpha types until they reach their matured state of awareness, though further testing is required to prove this theory. We must request further opportunities to research the Mimousai, preferably using live specimens if this is at all possible.

 

More than this does not appear to be of any use at present. Therefore we urge you to focus on the war effort against the Dark Ones for now. Only time can tell us what course of action should be pursued regarding the Mimousai.

I would also request you undertake another project, one I would like to be kept quiet. I believe there to be another variety of the Mimousai: a variety which is at once directly opposite to yet inexplicably intertwined with the others of their kind. At present I note them simply as type omega, and I require extensive research to be done involving their relation to the Mimousai and their existence in general. This should be of the same priority level as any research involving the Mimousai. I await your next report.

And there you have it. The prologue is basically just a sad attempt at trying to explain what the hell is going on (though it probably resulted in you wondering just that), so the actually interesting part starts next chapter. I'm hoping that by now your somewhat interested. If you're simply utterly confused, the next chapter will have a more helpful and straightforward summary.

 

And now a warning: this story will contain OCs. Yeah, I know what you're thinking - Mary Sue alert. However, I like to think my writing's a bit better than that (though that may be conceited of me); while this is my first mediaminer fic, it's by no means the first fanfic I've written. Just give it a chance, okay? I do like people to read my fics.
