AN: This is taking place after episode, 151, Kagome's Instinctive Choice. I would also like to think my new beta for going over this and kuro fenikkusu for giving me a good name for this fic.
Last Time: “So, what new world are we going to go first?” Kairi asked, taking the map away from Sora.
“I know how to choose.” Sora said jumping up excitedly. Grabbing the map away from Kairi, Sora quickly hung up the map on the wall and pulled out a few darts that he had been carrying.
Knowing where this was going, Riku groaned at his friend's stupidity, also wondering why he was carrying darts in the first place. So Riku decide to take the darts out of his hands, and hit him on his head.
“Hey what was that for?” Sora complained, rubbing his head where Riku had hit him.
“For being an idiot.” Riku replied.
“Well, do you have any other bright ideas?” Sora asked. When Riku remained silent, Sora grinned, triumphal at his small victory.
“I'll even let you be the first to pick.” Sora smugly said, holding out the dart for Riku.
Grumbling, Riku threw the dart, not caring where it landed. Unknown to him that, that small and simple act would change his whole world.
Chapter Two
“Stupid Sora. Stupid Donald. Stupid ship.” Riku grumbled, trying to stand up.
“When I see Sora or that dumb duck, I'm gonna throttle them both.” Riku said, making the hand motions like he was going to choke somebody.
Deciding to just sit down, and let his body rest. Riku thought about the incident in the ship that had gotten him stuck here in the middle of some foreign world, that he knew nothing about with a broken arm.
Flashback
“Sora! Give me the map back!” Donald yelled at Sora jumping about, trying to grab the map out of his hands.
“I'm not done looking at it.” Sora replied, raising the map out of Donald's reach.
Being the hot - tempered duck that he was, Donald angrily grabbed his staff and started to hit Sora over the head with it. Sora, being the oh so genius that he was, ran into the cockpit. A couple his later, Donald stupidly casted a spell, and hit the ship instead. Ultimately causing them to crash.
End Flashback
“Dam it!” Riku cursed. His arm was throbbing with pain. Clenching his teeth, Riku snapped the bone back in place letting out a small cry of pain. Attempting to stand back up, Riku fell back down as soon as he stood up, this time letting the darkness take over.

“Hey, Kairi! Are you alright?” Sora asked, deeply concerned about the well fare of his girlfriend. When she didn't respond he tried lightly shaking her to wake her up. Causing her to moan groggily and open her eyes.
“What happened?” Kairi asked, slowly sitting up.
“The ship kind of crashed.” Sora answered then asked, “Can you stand up?”
“I'll try.” Kairi answered, slowly rising. Only to collapse, Sora bare caught her before she hit the ground. “I think I sprained my ankle.”
Feeling guilty, Sora told Kairi to climb on his back. “We should probably go find a clearing to set camp. We only have about three hours 'til sundown.” Sora said walking through the forest with Kairi on his back.
“I hope Riku and the others are okay.” Kairi said, worrying about the others.
“Me too” Sora replied.
After walking for about an hour, Sora saw a huge wooden well up ahead. Hoping that the village would be friendly Sora quickly made his way towards the village.
When he finally reached his destination, Sora was disappointed at what her saw. The whole place was in ruins and there were rows upon rows of graves. Sighing, he found a small hut that had what looked like a small mattress on the ground. Placing Kairi on the mattress, he told her to stay there while he looked around. Hopefully he would find something eatable.
Searching the entire village, Sora returned empty handed. Finding Kairi already asleep Sora managed to build a small fire. Watching the bright embers, he hoped that tomorrow would turn out better than today. With those as his last thought, Sora fell into a light sleep.

Slowly getting up, Donald quickly jumped up when he noticed that he was on top of Goofy, who was atop of someone else.
“Goofy get up. You're squishing some poor boy!” Donald yelled at Goofy, poking him with his staff.
“Gosh” was Goofy's only reply, getting up. Looking at the boy he was atop was, he saw that he was about Sora's age. He had brown hair in a small ponytail, with a few freckles on his face. He was also out cold.
Feeling guilty, Goofy lifted the boy onto his shoulder, telling Donald that they needed to find a place to make camp. Agreeing with him, Donald started to look for a place to rest.
Finding a small cave, Goofy laid the boy carefully onto the ground. He then started to help Donald make a fire.
“I sure hope Sora, Kairi, and Riku are okay.” Goofy said after they got the fire going.
“Me, too.” Donald replied. Neither of them noticing the boy beginning to stir in his sleep.

“Where... Where am I” Riku asked, slowly sitting up. Only to be pushed back down by a pair of gentle yet firm hands.
“You still have a fever so it's best that you continue to rest until it completely goes away.” The owner of the hands said, quickly turning around before he could see her face.
“Here, drink this.” She said, suddenly appearing right next to him. Drinking the water, Riku started to fall back asleep, but not before seeing a pair of dark sapphire eyes.
When Riku awoke again, he saw that it was early in the morning. Standing up he saw his shirt and shoes were in a small pile on the corner along with his keyblade. Quickly putting them on and strapping on his keyblade, Riku never noticed that his arm was no longer broken. Just as he was about to step outside, the girl with the sapphire eyes stepped inside. And for a while they just stood there looking into each other's eyes.
“Oh, so you're awake.” She said, finally looking away and dropping the yellow bag she was carrying.
“Are you hungry?” she asked starting to rummage through her bag. Without waiting for an answer, she quickly made two cups of ramen.
After they were done eating, Riku finally asked “So, who are you, and why did you help me?”
“My name's Kagome and I just couldn't leave you out there by yourself. Especially in the state that you were in.” Kagome responded. She had found the platinum haired boy about two days ago, and he was in pretty bad condition. His right arm was broken and he was running a high fever. Luckily, the fever had broken not long after she had found him; she had also managed to heal his arm.
“Ummm... thanks. My name's Riku.” Riku said then asked “Where exactly am I?”
“You're in an abandoned house, on the outskirts of a forest.” Kagome answered taking in the platinum haired boy now known as Riku. She hadn't really had the chance to do so earlier. He had clear blue eyes. And he was wearing a black shirt with a zipper right down the middle and a yellow and white vest on top with a pair of baggy blue jeans. He also wore a yellow and white arm warmer on his left arm.
Noticing her stare, Riku turned a light shade of pink and started to do the same with her. She had dark blue eyes and long onyx hair that was in a braid. She wore a loose, blue shirt with long sleeves that ended at her elbows. On top of her blue shirt was a black vest that went to her knees along with baggy black jeans.
Seeing him starring at her, Kagome started to blush and stammered “So ummm... Where are you from?”
“What make you think I'm not from around here?” Riku asked smirking at her blush.
“Your clothes.” was Kagome's short reply.
“Is the same type as yours?” Riku answered back, seemingly finishing her sentence.
“Who said I'm from here?” Kagome said smirking herself, when she saw the confusion in his eyes.
“What do you mean by that?” Riku asked, confused by the raven-haired girl in front of him.
“Exactly what I said, I'm not from here.” Kagome calmly answered.
Trying to keep his cool, Riku just sat there studying Kagome's face trying to find something, anything that would give him some clue as to what she was getting at.
Kagome, still watching Riku decided to stop toying with him and get serious. Clearing her throat, she achieved her desired affect. Riku was now looking Kagome straight in the eye. “How about we make a trade?” Noticing his questioning look Kagome continued, “You tell me your story and I'll tell you mine.”
Feeling that he could trust her, Riku complied. Telling her everything that had happened to him since leaving Destiny Island, even the things he had not told Sora.
-----------xxx----------
It had been two days since both he and Kairi had made camp in the abandoned village. They were not able to travel anywhere since Kairi's ankle was still out of commission. However, Sora did manage to find both of their backpacks.
After cooking a small lunch for the both of them, Sora started to fell uneasy. He had this feeling in his gut that seemed like something important was going to happen.
At that moment when he started to think along those lines, he heard a loud crash making him jump up a bit. Telling Kairi to stay put, Sora went to investigate. When he reached the sight of the crash he saw a swarm of heartless. About to go run and fight, Sora was stopped dead in his tracks when he saw a huge boomerang slice through half of them. But for each one that was destroyed, two more took its place.
About to take out his keyblade, Sora was once again stopped when he felt a fierce wind. Looking towards the direction of the wind, Sora noticed that the heartless were being pulled towards the area where the wind was coming from. Which in fact were coming from a man wearing black and purple robes, holding out his right hand? Behind him was a girl with brown hair in strange leather armor, using the giant boomerang as a shield.
When the wind suddenly stopped, Sora saw nobodies start to appear behind the strangers. Without thinking, Sora jumped from the boulder he had been hiding behind, and started to attack the nobodies.
Surprised by the newcomer, Sango and Miroku just stood there shocked to see a young looking brown haired boy quickly defeat the creatures that they were having trouble with earlier. Getting over their shock, they assisted the stranger in defeating the rest of the strange creatures.
When all of the nobodies had been, defeated Sango and Miroku stayed on guard, watching what the strange boy would do next. However, what he did next was something they both did not expect.
Grinning like an idiot, Sora went up to Sango and Miroku and said “Hi, my name's Sora, who are you guys?”
Shocked at his forward attitude, both Miroku and Sango were a bit sutnned, but quickly shock themselves out of it.
“Hi, my name's Sango and this is Miroku, and my fire cat Kirira.” Sango introduced.
“So, do you know what those things were that attacked us?” Miroku asked starring at Sora's keyblade.
“Actually I do, but do you mind if we talk about this later. I have to go back to my friend Kairi.” Sora answered.
Agreeing to do so, Sango and Miroku followed Sora. After walking for less than half and hour, Sora had led them to the demon exterminator village.
Going into the hut where Kairi was, Sora, Sango, and Miroku made themselves comfortable, and cooked a small meal. After they were done eating, Miroku yet again asked about those creatures that they had fought with earlier.
Going into a brief discussion about heartless and nobodies, Sora decided to also tell them about his past adventures. Hoping inside that they would be able to help them out.
“Well we'd like to help you, but we're going to have to discuss this matter with Inu Yasha and Kagome, the other members of our group.” Miroku answered.
Smiling Sora made his bed near Kairi and soon fell asleep. Leaving Sango and Miroku time to talk amongst themselves.
“You know, he reminds me a lot of Kagome when we first met her.” Sango said looking at Sora and seeing Kagome.
“I agree my dear Sango.” Miroku replied, shifting his gaze from Sora to Sango.
Blushing at the way Miroku was looking at her, Sango told Miroku to go to sleep. Pulling out the sleeping bag that Kagome had given her Sango fell asleep instantly.
------------xxx--------------
“So, you're from a whole different world, here to seal a keyhole with your childhood best friends, a talking duck and an over sized dog, so that these heartless creatures engulf this world in darkness.” Kagome asked more that stated, unbelievingly.
Nodding his head yes, Riku wasn't too sure if Kagome believed him.
“Well since you told me your story, it's only fair that I tell you mine. Though it really isn't much compared to your's.” Kagome said, telling Riku a slighly condensed version of her story. Beginning with the creation of the Shikon no Tama, and ending with how she had helped Kikyo.
“It's been two years since Kikyo's death, and after she died I decided to train and learn how to successfully control my miko powers. I'm not all that great of a fighter, but I make a pretty good sparring partner for Sango, but she always goes easy on me.” Kagome finished.
When she was done telling her story, Riku was not starring at her. Not quite sure whether to believe her or no.
“And you're telling me, that you're a time traveler, from five hundred years into the future, and you come here to the Sengoku Jidai, to collect these jewel shards of a legendary jewel that you broke.” Riku said a bit unbelievingly, looking Kagome in the eye.
Blushing under his gaze, Kagome accused “You don't believe me do you?”
“Would you believe yourself?” Riku asked.
“I would if I traveled from world to world, battling the darkness.” Kagome mocked. After saying that they both realized how far fetched there stories were, and they both started to laugh.
Getting her laughter under control, Kagome spoke “So, tomorrow do you want to start searching for your friends.”
“What about your friends?” Riku answered with a question.
“They'll eventually catch up with me. Remember Inu Yasha is a half - demon and Sango has Kirira.” Kagome reminded him.
“Alright them” Riku said.
Now that, that was settled, Kagome brought out her sleeping bag. Saying goodnight to Riku, Kagome fell asleep as soon as her head hit the sleeping bag.
Waking up the next morning, Kagome prepared a quick and light breakfast for Riku and herself. Right when she was done cooking, Riku had woken up. Eating fast, Kagome and Riku packed their things and headed off.
“We're going to head to Keade's village first and see if Keade has heard any rumors.” Kagome spoke after walking in silence for about an hour.
Nodding his head in acknowledgment, Riku asked “Why don't you tell me more about these friends of yours?”
“Sure, if you do the same in return.” Kagome replied.
“Deal” Riku answered.
“Well, let's start in the order I first met them. First being Inu Yasha, he's half dog demon and half human. He can be arrogant and stubborn at times, but he has his moments and he's very loyal.” Kagome said, thinking about how Inu Yasha had chosen to remain loyal to Kikyo even though she's dead.
Noticing her quick mood change Riku quickly asked “So, who did you meet next?”
Thankful at the change of topic/friend Kagome answered “Then I met Shippo. He's an orphaned fox demon who's very mischievous and playful. He also gets really hyper when you give him sugar, but he's also really sweet.” Kagome said, and then continued with the next person they met “After Shippo we met up with a monk named Miroku. He has a curse on his right hand that he calls wind tunnel; it's slowly getting bigger and eventually it will consume him if we don't kill Naraku soon. He's also a perv, with a wandering hand. After...”
“What do you mean, wandering hand?” Riku asked, interrupting Kagome.
“Let's just say his hand likes to travel south. Moving on now, next and final member of out little rag - tag group, is Sango and Kirira. Sango's a demon slayer. Her whole village was wiped out by Naraku. At first she was pretty distant but once I got to know her, she's been like an older sister. And Kirira's a cat demon who's very loyal to Sango.”
Keeping up to his end of the bargain Riku began to talk about Sora and Kairi. “Sora's my best friend, and we've been friends since we were young. He's kind of naïve about some things and a little too trusting, but he has a big heart. He's also currently dating our other best friend Kairi. One day she just appeared on the island, but she's a very good friend.” Riku finished.
“You never told me why you and your friends split up.” Riku said after describing his friends.
“Why are you curious?” Kagome asked.
“Well, yeah.” Riku said.
“Well, a few days ago we had a small confrontation with Naraku. During the whole battle, I managed to shatter Naraku's fragment of the jewel shard, so we split up trying to get them before Naraku. Inu Yasha, Shippo, and I went one way and Sango, Miroku, and Kirira went another. Not long after that Inu Yasha and I were separated. I've been on my own for the past three days.” Kagome answered, taking a look at her surroundings.
“How much long 'til we reach this village.” Riku asked.
“About another hour or so.” Kagome replied.
Not wanting to walk in silence, Kagome made small talk with Riku. Learning a few odds and ends about each other. And before they knew it, they had reached Keade's village.

An: I know in the anime Kagome's eyes are brown but I prefer using the manga, where her eye color is blue.
