Chapitre 4: Two scouts down; two to go

Ami hurried toward the river where she and Sasuke first met. The sun was almost completely down when she left the meadow. When she finally reached the river, Ami found that Sasuke was already there. Figures. He had sensed her coming and looked in her direction when she jumped down from a tree.

“What took you?” he asked in that drone voice of his. He looked at her new outfit and thought that she must've gone shopping.

“I was training and kind of lost track of time,” she admitted. She jumped onto a big rock that was near the one he was sitting on.

He quirked a brow. “You were training?” It was then he noticed the symbol that showed her for a wind ninja hanging around her neck. “I see. So you're a ninja from Higashikazegakure, ne? Want to have a spar?”

Ami was a little taken aback from his immediate want to fight. But she was a Sailor Scout, and now a wind ninja. And it wasn't going to hurt her if she practiced a little with him. After all, she didn't have any experience in Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, nor Taijutsu— unless the five jutsus she learned that day counted for something.

“Um, okay, Sasuke-san” Ami said quietly. “But I must first say that I am a one-armed ninja.”

He smirked. “That's all right with me. But Aoi-chan…” he said as he made some room between them.

“Hai, Sasuke-san?”

“It's -kun for you. Sasuke-kun.” Then he charged at her.

*********

Rei and Minako decided to explore Konohagakure. Once they arrived at the village, they noticed a group of people that were crowded around two girls. They ran up to investigate and saw a pink haired girl and a blonde haired girl fighting. The crowd seemed to be okay with the girls' antics, but Rei and Minako wondered why no one stopped them.

Rei noticed a boy with spiky blonde hair and blue eyes. Before they fully reached the crowd, Rei whispered a few things to Minako who, in turn, whispered some things back, smiling like a Siamese cat. Minako nodded a final time and followed Rei as she came up behind the boy. Minako silently did the Kokoro no Jutsu, which Ami was so kind as to teach them before she disappeared. She searched the boy's mind, quickly memorizing the thoughts and traces of family and friends that he had. `Gotta admit, Rei-chan sure did it this time…'

“Why are they fighting?” Rei asked him. He was wearing an orange jumpsuit. The look on his face was not a happy one.

“They're fighting over Sasuke-teme, like usual,” he said. He was really annoyed with it apparently.

“Oh. Who's Sasuke-teme?”

The boy turned to them and gave them a look that read `Are you an idiot or what?' That was before he had a good look at them.

“Whoa!” he said. He obviously wasn't expecting to see two beautiful girls asking him the dumb question.

“Are you okay?” Minako asked him. He was halfway through a nosebleed.

He shook himself. “Me? Yeah, I'm fine! I'm Uzumaki Naruto, after all!” He laughed.

“Did you say Uzumaki…?”

“Yeah. What of it?” Naruto said curiously.

Minako ran to him and gave him a BIG bear hug. “Naruto-niisan!!”

“Whuh? Niisan? Where, where?” <.<;>.>

You, silly! My niisan! …Er— half-niisan, anyway.”

Naruto backed up a few feet. “What the hell is going on?! I don't have a sister! At least not hat I know of. Who are you?”

Minako exchanged a glance with Rei. “I'm, uh… ” She turned to the priestess and whispered so her `brother' wouldn't be able to hear. “What names should we tell him?”

Rei thought a moment. “Give me a minute. What name do you want?”

Minako shrugged and said, “I dunno, but I wanna be something that means love or heart.”

“How about this: you're Ganryuu Shinta, and I'm Kamitsune Momo. Is that okay?”

“Sure… but Shinta? Why Shinta?”

“Cuz, you said you wanted a name that meant heart or love; Shinta's as close as you'll get.” Rei remarked.

“So, what are your names?” Naruto repeated rather impatiently.

Minako turned to him. She smiled. “I'm Ganryuu Shinta, and this is Kamitsune Momo.”

Naruto looked suspiciously at them. “If you're my sister, then why don't we have the same last name?”

Duh! That's because we're half siblings. I said that earlier…”

The two girls that had been fighting earlier had apparently stopped, and were now standing next to Naruto. “Hey, Naruto, who are your new friends?” The girl with pink hair asked him.

“Sakura and Ino, this is Shinta and Momo. Shinta is my, uh, neesan.” Sakura gave him a questioning look, but he ignored it for now.

Rei and Minako bowed slightly in respect, and Sakura and Ino did the same. “You guys look pretty strong,” Rei said to Sakura. Ino looked like she didn't trust them too much.

“Thanks. So do you. You guys are from Higashikazegakure, ne?”

“Hai,” Minako answered. Then she remembered the five scouts that were somewhere in this dimension. She looked at Rei, who, in turn, had been thinking the same thing that she was.

“Hey, do you guys want to watch some fireflies?” Rei asked. “I know the greatest spot to find them. You can even see some butterflies at this time of night there, too.”

“Sure, Momo!” Ino replied. She loved watching fireflies. Still, she had her suspicions…

The four girls set out for the place where Rei had seen the fireflies. Rei led the way with Minako in the rear and the two leaf ninja in the middle. Unbeknownst to Ino and Sakura, “Momo” and “Shinta” had no intentions of watching fireflies. Rather, they were taking them toward the grass field where Setsuna-sensei was.

*********

Setsuna gave the outers their bands, shoes, and little pocket weapons. “You three have three and a half hours to yourself. Don't over exert your time here. And remember: don't reveal your identities to anyone. They are too precious to be given out, especially in this dimension. You are dismissed.”

Hotaru went toward the little village she had seen earlier that day, while Michiru and Haruka explored the darkest parts of the forest. (ooh, I wonder who they'll find? ^.~;)

Setsuna didn't even have five minutes to herself when she sensed four ninja approaching. She immediately knew the chakra she had sensed to be Rei and Minako, along with two other females. `Have they found you already?' she wondered.

As soon as the four girls were within her sight, and she in theirs, Setsuna did a jutsu she liked to call Keeji no Inbijiburu, a seal that prevented whatever was captured within it from moving more than five feet from where they were upon impact. Today, the victims were two little leaf ninja named Sakura and Ino.

“W -what is this?” Sakura said as she tried every escaping jutsu she knew to try and get out of the cage.

“I knew you couldn't be trusted!” Ino seethed at the two scouts.

Setsuna and the girls began a conversation. This caused the two kunoichi to think that their captors weren't listening to them.

“Good job, girls. You have successfully found two of the four scouts that will help us defeat Prince Hideaki. I don't know what the others are doing, but whatever it is, they obviously are not looking for the reinforcements.”

Rei and Minako bowed out of respect. Hey, she was still one of their senseis. “Domo arigato, Setsuna-sensei,” Minako said as her sensei went over to where the captured ninja were still trying to get out.

Sakura tapped Ino, who turned and glared at the approaching timekeeper. “What do you want with us?”

Setsuna-sensei put down her cage. “Merely to ask for your help.”

“BULLSHIT!!” Sakura yelled. “If you wanted our help, you could've just come and asked us for it!”

“And if we did just appear out of no where and asked for you're help,” Rei asked, “would you two have just come along, no questions asked?”

“LIKE HELL!!!” Ino's anger flared. “Just who the fuck are you three, anyway?”

Rei and Minako looked at their sensei. Setsuna nodded. “It's all right. I am Meiou Setsuna. The three of us are part of a group of soldiers called Sailor Scouts. We are from another dimension, one that is being taken over by a dangerous enemy. We came here seeking help to destroy that enemy.”

“But where do we come in?” Ino asked. “As if you didn't know, we aren't exactly the strongest kunoichi around.”

Setsuna smiled. “Let me further explain. In this world in which you live, there are five scouts— just like us. Those scouts have unimaginable power, only rivaled by our leader. But you see, we have a way to determine whether or not you two are those scouts.”

“Which is?”

The three scouts powered up a little, but only enough as to bear their planetary insignia on their fore heads. “If you two are fellow scouts, then when we test you, an insignia from a star or planet will appear on your foreheads, like these.”

“But what if we don't have those signs? What will you do to us then?” Sakura implied.

“We will simply erase your memories of ever having this discussion. You two will not remember ever coming to this field, nor meeting me. But— “she added quickly, “if you two do bear the insignia of a star or planet, then your powers from the Silver Millennium will be awakened, and you will train to be the best scouts you can be. We will call on you sometime in the future, if you are the scouts, of course. Now, for the test.” Setsuna summoned her Time Staff. She pointed it at Sakura. The Garnet Orb at the top of her Time Staff began to glow. “You, Sakura… you have a light that is hidden by your fears. That light has been desperately trying to escape, to be able to shine, as it has always wanted to.” Suddenly, a shape that resembled a sun appeared on Sakura's forehead. It had a bright pinkish/red glow. “You, Haruno Sakura, are Sailor Sun. Warrior of fire and light, and Princess of the Corona Castle.” She handed her an red and white henshin stick. “With this henshin stick, you will acquire the form of Neo Sailor Sun.” Setsuna turned to Ino. “And you Ino… you have an explosion of emotions inside of you. Sadness, anger, hatred, but above all, love.” A shape that looked like a shooting star appeared on Ino's forehead. “You, Yamanaka Ino, are Sailor Nova. Warrior of space and explosions, and the Princess of the Nebula Castle.” She gave her a purple and white henshin stick. “With this henshin stick, you will acquire the form of Neo Sailor Nova.”

Minako squealed. “Oh yeah! Who's bad? Who's bad? We're bad! Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh!”

Rei laughed at her and said two the new scouts, “Don't pay her any attention. She's just happy that we found two of the reinforcements already. Anyways, welcome to the Sailor Scouts! We weren't properly introduced before. I am Hino Rei, also known as Neo Sailor Mars. And this—” she pointed at Minako, who was doing a little victory dance, “is Aino Minako, also known as Neo Sailor Venus.”

Sakura and Ino were still in shock. Shock that they were Neo Sailor Scouts. Shock that they were talking to people from another dimension. Shock that they were extremely powerful princesses from other planets. Just complete shock.

“Wait a sec— you're not Naruto's sister?”

Minako shook her head. There was a long, awkward pause. Then Ino spoke up. “So, what do we do now that we are scouts? Is there some kind of ritual or initiation?”

Setsuna had a mischievous smile on her face, which is extremely rare. “Hai, there is a ritual. The two of you must perform for the rest of the scouts.”

“PERFORM?!!!” Sakura and Ino yelled in union.

“Hai,” she said again as Rei and Minako snickered. “But the other five won't be back for a while. Which gives you time to prepare something.”

Sakura raised her hand. “Does this mean we have to work together? If so, I'm not down for performing.” Ino glared at her.

“Nope,” Minako said. “You can work separately if you want. But there's a catch. Three catches actually.”

“The two of you must use at least two of your new sailor attacks during your exhibitions,” Rei explained. “And you each have to wear outfits that Minako-chan and I make for you while in Neo form. Got it? Oh— and before I forget, the two of you must create a finale of which you must perform TOGETHER.”

They groaned. They didn't like the idea too much, but nodded nonetheless.

“All right then, start practicing!”
