It was 5 years since his last battle and Naruto Uzumaki was on a boat headed home, but this isn’t the same happy go lucky kid he was back when he beat Orochimaru. This was a tall, buff and handsome 20 year old young man. He was handsome, had long blond hair, blue eyes and a light tan. The marks on his face were gone, “we’re almost to the bay sir.” Said the captain.
“Good,” he said. ‘I can’t wait for them to see me now.’

Meanwhile at the village, Tsunade was reading a letter from her favorite 9-tailed Kyuubi with pictures. ‘Well, looks like he grew up really well.’ She called for the remaining members of Team 7.

Sakura, Sasuke and Kakashi were in Tsunade’s office. “He’s coming back,” she said simply.
“What?” Said Sakura, “Naruto’s coming back?”
“Where’s he been?” Said Sasuke, “I owe him a beat down for leaving us.”
“Well, I wouldn’t bet on you Sasuke,” said Tsunade. “Naruto-kun’s not the same young man you know anymore.”
“What do you mean?” Said Kakashi, unknown to them Naruto was there and behind them.
“She means, I’ve changed, a lot.” He said, everyone looked over and saw him. The pictures didn’t do him justice. He was in a orange flak vest, a black mesh shirt, weighted bracers, orange cargo pants and weighted ankle bracers. Around his neck was a choker that had a small golden cross on it. He also had gold hoop earrings in his ears and his head band on his forehead. He smiled softly, “it’s good seeing you guys. Real good.” His eyes had a new life in them and yet seen everything.
His stance said, ‘I’ve seen it all, done it all, got the free T-shirt and gave it away.’ They could feel the power roll off of him in waves.
“How was your trip, Naruto-kun?” Said Tsunade.
“Eventful, progressive, helpful, relaxing, fun, enjoyable, calm and educational. I never knew there was so many styles out there.”
“I’m glad you enjoyed your training journey, now are you ready to take the reigns as the leader of Team 7?” Sakura and Sasuke were in shock.
“WHAT?”
“Sigh, I knew that this was going to happen.” Said Naruto, “Tsunade-sama, you know I can’t do that.”
“Naruto, you are the only one of your team that had successfully finished a training journey of that magnitude. If that doesn’t scream ‘leader‘. Then what does?” Naruto looked at her for a minute, then closed his eyes.
“You remember our deal?”
“Yes, I’m supposed to give you time to think about this and you’ll give me your answer. I’ll give you a week.”
“WAIT A MINUTE!” Screamed Sasuke, “he gets to be team leader because of a training journey?”
“It wasn’t just a simple training journey, Sasuke.” Said Naruto, “take a look at me. What’s missing?”
They got a real good look at him and didn’t see his whisker marks. “They’re gone.” Said Sakura, Naruto nodded.
“I learned how to control the Kyuubi.” He said and transformed in to a 7 foot tall kitsune-wolf hybrid. All 9 of his tails were out and he was still calm. His blond fur looked like silk and his blue eyes softened even more. “Well, what do you think?”
“A kitsune, you’ve turned yourself into a kitsune?” Said Tsunade.
“Yes Tsunade-sama.” With that, he deformed back into his normal form.
“It was pretty interesting seeing the earrings in your fox ears.”
Nodding, “I’ll give you my answer in a week Tsunade-sama. But right now, I just want to go to bed.”
“Very well, I’ll have someone show you to your new quarters.” Sakura spoke up.
“I’ll do it.” She said she stood up and he got a real good look at her. She was beyond cute now, she was very beautiful now. She still wore pink but now the outfit was a female ninja outfit. (1) “Follow me,” she said.

They walked to a huge manor-like building, “so how are you and Sasuke doing?”
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
“What happened?” She turned on to him, fury in her eyes.
“YOU THINK YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE THAT CHANGED? YOU JUST UP AND LEFT 5 YEARS AGO! 5 YEARS!”
“Sakura…?”
“DONR 17;T YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THAT HURTS? How a boy that likes you a lot, just disappears out of your life all because you had tunnel vision for someone else?” Naruto was shocked.
“Then why…?”
“I was scared alright? Yes, I do love you, Naruto Uzumaki.” She grabbed him in a tight hug and cried on his shoulder. He hugged her back tightly and started to calm her down.
