Rasengan86…True True there is a lot of plots going around. But there are others aware of what is going on giggles… People whom you wouldn't think of, besides all the plots are tied into one another if you think about it tee hee. And It is true that Naruto is to gullible. As to Umiko…it depends on the question.

IX-Forgotten angel-XI… How many chapters? To be honest I don't really know. I never know how many turn out. They just turn out!

Chapter 39

Umiko smiled as she entered the hospital room, the following morning, Naruto was up and looking at his sleeping father thoughtfully.

“He kind of went a little nuts when he found out how hurt you were.” She said softly. Her voice reaching his ears, the youth looked at his hands and clenched them in a nervous action. “I...I heard…”

“Wondering why?”

Nodding his head, Umiko looks into those bright blue eyes and sees the pain and confusion of many years echoed in them. Her heart reaching out to the youth, she sits on the edge of his bed and wraps an arm around him, as she would her own child Sasami.

“Because he loves you…”

“But why?”

“Does there have to be a reason?”

Confused by her question, Naruto looks up at her with confused eyes. Her own amber ones hidden behind contacts, the woman can't help but realize now how much this youth went through without a family. “Naruto-kun, when it comes to love, especially between a parent and a child. There is nothing else that matters. There is no why…there is no how. There is nothing but unconditional love…”

Hearing her words, the youth turns to look over at the older blonde still sleeping in the other bed. And then as he turns to look at her, Umiko as startled as his arms wrap around her and hug her gently.

“Thank you Umiko-chan…” Naruto whispered. “Thank you…”

“You are most welcome Naruto-kun…” The older woman replied with genuine emotion, as an honorific she does not hear often is applied to her name.

Although she wishes, that in the short time she has been her. That she has not grown attached to the youth and his father. The two need someone, who can help them understand one another…

And if she could…she would stay.

Looking over towards the other bed, she finds Arashi looking at her with the same blue eyes of his son. A quiet sense of yearning in them, she feels her heart reach out to both of them.

Beckoning for him to approach, despite her better judgment, Arashi nods his head and gets off the bed. Startled by the sounds of the elder blonde getting up, Naruto look away to find his father sitting on the other side of his bed.

“You...really went nuts?”

“Yeah I did…I just got you back Naruto. I don't want to lose you.”

For the first time, Arashi is caught off guard as his son gives him an honest to god emotional reply. One that warms his soul…

“I…don't want to lose you either Father…”

Tentatively reaching out to brush a blonde lock of hair away from his son's face, Umiko quietly slides away as actions speak louder then words. For the first time, since she has arrived in Konoha to spy on the youth, she sees him accept a hug from his father.

Sliding out the door and closing it quietly behind her, the woman finds herself face to face with the Godaime who is smiling.

“Thank you…”

Confused for a moment, she smiles gently in realization and walks away. As she does so that bright and happy mask falls, and it is one that is heavy with regret. She does not want to spy on this youth, whom as she has gotten to know him. Has so much trouble trusting to easily…

And his father?

Why did it have to be him? The first man in so long to make her feel loved…and cherished.

While she walked, towards the house, the woman seemed to not notice the two ROOTS following her. Both under orders to grab her…. To be questioned and interrogated upon why she was here.

Approaching the woman stealthily, they are stunned as she begins to glow a brilliant blue. Turning around on them, her features serious and pained in nature, they find themselves unable to move.

“I truly wish you did not follow me…” Umiko worded soundlessly. “Be happy I do not believe in killing…”

With that said the woman approaches them quietly, her eyes glowing gold compared to that blue aura surrounding her body. Their eyes widening as she approaches, they continue to struggle as delicate and soft hands touch a point in between their eyes.

Forget…forget all you have seenor heard. Forget…

The two ROOTS feel their memories slipping way. In just a few minutes, two men are puzzled as they find themselves in an empty ally. Their faces confused at their outfits and swords, the men drop them in confusion.

Walking out of the shadows, they look at one another and then walk away…

Elsewhere…

Sasuke shook with rage. A rage unlike any seen or felt in years, the Curse seal although still there, is fading slowly into his skin. But it is still enough from years of having it, to leave its mark upon his system.

Kabuto had brought him here when word had been brought that Naruto had a run in with his brother Itachi.

Judging by the damage of this area alone, he concentrates upon a new jutsu he has learned. One that can bring past events to life somewhat in images, from the memories of the plant life around it, the scroll called it Nature's Recollection jutsu.

Now as he sees the images the plants are giving to him manifested in chakra. He watches the events transpire, and although there is a strong protest by the looks of it from a bruised and battered Kakashi, he sees Naruto do something that forces his brother to back off.

The blonde had lost control of that demon, he had seen inside him for a moment. Remembering the battle that they had, Sasuke reaches out to the running image of the blonde as it goes by him. The chakra surrounding his body red and deadly, as he remembers, he can see not one tail as it was then.

But three…

Naruto was accessing three tails! And as he watches the battle, unlike the others, that were involved then, he could see his brother. The one he wishes was his brother, rush his true brother, slicing at the arm hard and deep. Forcing the older Uchiha to back off and retreat.

But as Naruto turns around, and is tackled by the others in the group trying to stop his rampage, Sasuke notices something else…

Although three full tails of chakra were behind Naruto…

A fourth one was beginning to appear….

Deep inside his mind, he can hear the faint rumbling laughter of a fox… Striding far and away from the images still playing out behind him, he pauses as Sakura runs out from where he was heading supposedly. She is waving something long and purple in her hands.

He can't help but turn around and be curious as the three men with her had somehow despite the pain they are going through. Maintain their grip on the youth snarling and snapping at them with rage. The Pink haired medic nin, who stirs something deep within him, is hitting him hard and square in the stomach.

Sasuke is impressed as the Blonde buckles in pain from her action, allowing himself to be dragged to the ground, where she straddles him. A twinge of something coming out of nowhere, as he finds himself respecting the one who was once his friend and teammate shove something under the out of control ninja's nose.

It is the purple object…

And although his friend…his only friend struggles against it, he watches in awe as the chakra dissipates. Forcing the blonde's eyes to roll back and for him to pass out…

This image leaves Sasuke thinking back to the teams that were made when he was still with Konoha. Old Sandaime, according to his Snake Sensei was much like him. He never did things without a purpose.

Never without a purpose…

Leaving to think things over, the younger Uchiha walks away…

What is with the Nature Recollection jutsu?

There is a myth I remembered reading about when I was younger. It is said that no matter what happens Nature provides a witness to all events in life. From the grass, to the tallest trees, Nature sees all.

What is Umiko's power?

Well she is a reluctant spy with a bloodline…one that makes her and members of her clan perfect for it. As to what it is called…I haven't decided yet….

Because more then likely I may not be updating at all tomorrow I will be placing a small bonus story underneath this note.

You may comment on it if you want. But some people have been asking me why I like Sasuke so much…

Two dreams…

There was a time when a youth named Sasuke Uchiha had two dreams after his family was killed. It was a brief time in which he which he had the two. And slowly as he got to know them one dream began to fight the other.

Especially because of them…his brother…and his friend…

So much for your promises
They died the day you let me go
Caught up in a web of lies
But it was just too late to know

His first dream that he had, was to avenge his family's deaths. He loved his mother, his father, everybody in his family with all his heart.

But when he had come home that night…his world was shattered to pieces. His older brother…his older brother had killed them all.

Why did you do it Itachi?

Why did you kill Mother?

Why did you kill Father?

Why did you make me hate you? Why did you make me want to kill you? You were my idol, my hero! I wanted to be like you! So why did you do it big brother? Why?

I thought it was you
Who would stand by my side

The pity was next, all that pity he couldn't handle as a result of what his brother had done. He had stalked off in a fit of temper, desiring to be alone. Needing to distance himself from thos ewho would care about him in case Itachi came back.

Still, that's when the blonde started making himself known to him. He was determined to beat me? Why me?

He graduated from the ninja academy, cold and lifeless as he should be. He can't create any bonds after all. But why is it that even though he does not show it, when he finds one of his teammates is the soon to be blonde, why does he want to smile?

Hey you better not drag me down dobe…

You said you'd die for me

His meeting with his teammates and new sensei Kakashi is interesting. He asks what his dreams are as well as the others. He of course tells him that he wishes to kill a certain someone.

Once again he fights the urge to smile as the blonde one, he now knows as Naruto, speaks up and yells that his dream is to become Hokage.

Woke up to reality
And found the future not so bright
I dreamt the impossible
That maybe things could work out right

He is stunned as Sakura and Kakashi tell him of the battle naruto did to protect his comatose form against Haku. The blonde dobe had did all that? To save him? He wants to say thank you, but does not. Instead for some odd reason he finds himself challenging his teammate to be stronger.

You wish you could beat me!

I thought it was you
Who would do me no wrong

The beginning of the Chuunin exams maybe is when his second dream started. Watching Naruto fight off that giant snake without any fear was incredible. He inspired him to be stronger! Is it possible for the dead last to do that?

He began to dream of a strong friendship with the blonde haired youth. One where the two fought side by side accomplishing everything together, like he had once imagined he and Itachi would when he was a child. But that's also when he was cursed…

My will power will help me fight the seal off?

It's now the second half of the exams and the Sound and Sand is invading his home. He is sent to chase after Gaara, and the blonde follows him. But as he tells his new found friend to run, he is surprised as the blonde does not.

Especially after watching how close he comes to dying at the hands of the Sand ninja.

When did you get strong Naruto? How did you learn how to summon? Why is it you could beat Gaara and I could not? Am I not supposed to be stronger then you? Am I not supposed to be the best and have you fight by my side?

I thought it was you who you'd die for love

He struggles now with his dreams they fight for control in his mind. Before the second half of the exam his brother had come and used his weapon on him. That eye…it hurt.

How it hurt…he remembers the pain…

But as he watches the dobe approaching, he remembers the happiness as well.

So why does the pain of loss linger in the back of his mind?

He left Konoha…

That pain and the loss he was feeling wa soverwhelming thso ebrief moments of happiness he had felt with his friend. His closest friend…that dobe…Naruto.

Now he faces him in the Valley of the end…he is unconcious…he is vulnerable.

He walks away…

Sasuke Uchiha once had two dreams…

One is stronger now inside him, but the other lingers…
