Rasengan86… Kakashi...lazy? I don't think so. My theory as I stated before was that the Sharingan eye made a destabilizing balance in his chakra system. One that only Kyuubi knew how to restore. He did!

Sasuke7809… Neither youth will get killed off. I wouldn't do that to them. As to couples…I don't have enough experience in Yaoi to be comfortable with writing them. That's why I am trying a test run with a Loveless fic in that retrospect. But by now for you and those who haven't figured it out. The pairings are Naru/Hina, and Arashi/Umiko.

Chapter 49

Immortality…. It is something that a lot of people would want. But it is not all that is cracked up to be. The Shrine Maidens of the temple could tell you that.

If you were to ask Fate, he had set up guardians of a sort for these women. Guardians using the discarded power that had leaked from the great beast sealed within this entire world.

Who were the guardians?

Well you as well as many others will soon find out…

Sound Village, Two days later…

Sasami whimpered as she was thrown hard against the wall. The little girl was beaten and bruised, but she still stood strong. Her hands tightly gripping the scroll that the angelic woman had given her, the amber eyed child stood fast and strong against the bullies that had been given permission to punish her for her disobedience.

“Give us the scroll Sasami!”

“NO!”

Closing her eyes as another kick was aimed towards her midsection, the little girl prepared to take the painful beating that would soon follow. But as nothing came, the child turned to find something far worse, staring at her.

Kabuto-sensei…

Scared and terrified now, as through his `training', she had been conditioned to not disobey him. The young child watched as he approached and simply held his hand out to her. Fighting every instinct in her body, she already watches in horror as she hands him the scroll.

Pushing up his glasses and glinting evilly, almost he looks to the Sensei and nods his head. Her tormentors grinning, they move in to the damage that the older ninja refuse to commit.

Simply because it was beneath them….

So as the child whimpered and screamed in pain, Kabuto looked over the scroll in his hand with a puzzled expression. With some kind of seal on it, he already could tell that it was keyed to one specific person. He doesn't know how it he can tell it.

But that it was…

Out of habit the grey haired ninja finds himself, wandering towards the library that Sasuke-kun had commandeered as his own. He would have long since killed the youth, as he had become the unofficial leader of those still loyal to Orichamaru. But he dare not for several reasons…

The main one being, was the fact that the curse seal, was now completely gone from the pale skinned Uchiha. But the power it had withheld in its markings was not. Sasuke's body reeked with the chakra that he had associated with one of his former Masters.

The power that Orichamaru contained had to go somewhere…and it went into Sasuke.

Finding that out of habit, he heads towards the library of the snake Sannin, for which Sasuke commandeered as his own. He enters it intent on placing the scroll with hundreds of others that the now gone leader of Sound had acquired over the years.

Two things happened thought that Kabuto did not expect. One of them was that, Sasuke had decided to look through the jutsus at that moment in frustration. Ever since reports of the Fourth's return and the fact that he was training Naruto had come into the sound. A fire had been lit under the Uchiha's resolve.

Some he could not quite understand…

So when Kabuto had come into the room, the Uchiha was about to say something quite cold to the point of death, when the scroll Kabuto had been carrying…

Began to glow…

Bright and shining with a warm light, the dark haired youth could hear faint songs coming from within. The other having a bad feeling, was set to destroy it, when in to time at all, Sasuke had his hand around Kabuto's throat.

“Sasuke-kun…” The older man wheezed out, as the Uchiha releases him. The throat suffering severe bruising, he makes a motion with his hands to heal the damage done. “Do be careful, one of our student runaways had found that and wouldn't let go. It could be a trap…”

Glaring at Kabuto, the Uchiha all but threw him out the door of the room. Closing it tightly, the Light continued to shine brightly from under the door. A song filling the air, it is about an hour or so later, when Sasuke emerges with a contemplative look on his face.

“Bring me that student…this Sasami Tanaka…” The Uchiha worded carefully. “And Kabuto…”

“Yes Sasuke-kun?”

“I know by the scroll what she looks like…you bring me a different kid. I will kill you.”
