Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ A Secret I'd Never Tell You ❯ Just an Ice cream... ( Chapter 2 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Disclaimer: Do I honestly need to say this twice? It hurts to say it but…No, I don't own Naruto at all. -Pouts-
I'm not very good a writing fight and lemon scenes, well, I don't think I am, since the last chapter was my first try for both of them. I'm not quite sure how this chapter will turn out (I have a feeling that I'll somehow mess it up, as I always do with things similar to this), but since so many people asked for me to continue, I have!
Please review so that I can see whether or not you'd like for me to go on with this fanfiction, and please read my other ones! -Shameless attempt at advertising her work-
Sasuke: You really have no class, do you?
Fox: No, no I don't. Now go sit in the corner and angst for awhile while I try to catch my muse.
Sasuke: … I hate you.
Fox: Awww, I love you too Sasuke.
Anyway, review response:
And now, on with the fic:
Sasuke spent the next hour washing away all traces of the night's dreams, which included quickly rubbing a palm full of shampoo and conditioner into his sleep mussed black bangs. Apparently it was not good for your hair if you didn't wash it every time you showered. Not that he was really all the bothered about it, but it meant he had something to occupy his mind instead of letting his thoughts wander back to the dream.
Finally, he emerged from his bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. Glancing at the clock, he saw that he had about two hours to kill before training began. Well, the time team seven would meet would be in a two hours; Kakashi would no doubt show up over three hours afterwards.
Yes, even though two of the team's members were already Chuunin's, Sakura and Sasuke still met with Naruto and their old teacher to train together. `For old times sake' as the older man put it.
The dark haired boy had no idea why he still went, perhaps just to be with his old team mates, perhaps just so he wouldn't have to train alone, he didn't know. He doubted he ever really would.
Pulling open his chest of drawers to retrieve his usual navy blue top and white shorts, Sasuke hesitated when reaching for the Chuunin vest that lay over the back of a chair. After a few seconds of decision, he grabbed the item of clothing and threw it on before moving into the kitchen. Naruto being the only one on the team not to own a jacket, Sasuke wanted to taunt him by wearing his. It was the Dobe fault he was in a bitter mood anyway, damn dreams…
Annoyed to himself for reminding himself of the very thing he was trying to forget about, the Uchiha heir threw open his fridge door to search the contents for a suitable breakfast. He was welcomed with a blast of cool air and the sight of a very full fridge. It was then he remembered how hungry he actually was and decided on a simple bowl of fruit and cereal. Eating as slowly as possible, he stared absently at a space on the wall in front of him blankly, as if he were actually looking past it.
Lost in his thoughts, the spoon that had been bringing the cereal to his mouth slowed to a halt as Sasuke simply ignored the outside world, focusing on that within his head. He replayed the last few weeks back to him. Why had this sudden string of strange dreams begun? It puzzled him to no end, which was not something the dark haired shinobi liked. He liked logic, things that made sense, people that made sense. Naruto definitely did not make sense. Ever. So why had he begun dreaming about him? He supposed it was just his teenaged hormones playing up or something along those lines.
It was Naruto's fault, if he didn't look like such a girl then maybe he wouldn't think about him in that way when he was asleep. Yes, it was all Naruto's fault.
Still probing deeper into the `problem', Sasuke soon lost track of time and only realized how long he had been thinking for when his alarm clock went off in his bedroom. Startled, he looked down at his cereal to see that it had gone soggy long ago and was now sitting in a disgusting looking lump in the centre of the bowl. With an exasperated sigh, he got up from the table to switch his alarm clock to sleep mode and wash everything up. Dumping the contents of his bowl into the bin and rinsing it out quickly, the dark haired boy glanced up at the clock to see that it was nearly time for training. Not bothering to laze about any longer, he left the house and began to walk slowly down to their usual meeting place at the bridge.
Both Naruto and Sakura were already there, the cherry blossom girl standing impatiently in the centre of the bridge, looking annoyed, while the blonde idiot was sitting against the side rail, snoozing lightly. Sasuke was mildly amused by the scene, but did not have time to savor the feeling due to the loud squeal of “SASUKEEEE!” as a bubble gum pink blur launched itself at him. Wincing at the high pitched voice, he braced himself for the impact just in time. Sakura latched onto his arm, smiling brightly and speaking loudly into his ear. “Sasuke, I thought you weren't going to come for training today so I was about to go look for you but now you're here and I don't have to!” She spoke rather quickly and nuzzled his side. Suppressing a shudder, he kept his face blank and simply walked into the centre of the bridge.
Naruto gave him his usual scowl and crossed his arms over his chest, shifting his position on the ground slightly to get more comfortable. The Uchiha smirked and leant against the rails, on the opposite side of the bridge, removing the still babbling girl from his arm. Staring down coolly at the other boy for a moment, who refused to look at him, Sasuke then turned his head away from them both and settled down to wait for their instructor.
They stayed this way for a few hours, Naruto sitting on the ground, Sasuke opposite and standing while Sakura clung like a limpet to the dark haired teen's arm, cooing into his ear in a sickening sweet voice. Finally, the much awaited Kakashi arrived in a poof of light blue smoke, crouching upon the rails of the bridge .“Yo.” He drawled. “YOU'RE LATE!” Sakura and Naruto cried together, leaping up and pointing accusingly at their teacher. The scarecrow simply smiled apologetically (or, they supposed he was smiling, it was hard to tell with his mask) and raised a hand to scratch the back of his head. “Ah, well, you see I was eaten by a giant turtle with a tooth ach who agreed to spit me back out if I helped him with his tooth…” He began, lying as per usual. “LIAR!” Came the shouted reply.
Hoping down from his perch on the rails, the silver haired man shook his head but did not reply to their accusations. “Well anyway, I've come to inform you that training is off for the day. Have fun!” And with that, he was gone, leaving yet another cloud of light blue smoke behind him.
Instantly, Sakura began to complain. “I can't believe he made us wait here for half of the morning just for him to tell us that! I've wasted half of the day already!” She fumed, waving her arms in the air which Naruto had to duck sharply to keep from hitting him in the face. “Don't worry Sakura; I'll take you out to lunch to make up for it!” He grinned. The pink haired girl looked as though she was about to refuse, as she normally did when suddenly a sly smile appeared upon her features. Sasuke immediately felt uneasy. “Alright then, I'm sure Sasuke would like to come with us too! Won't you Sasuke?” She gripped his arm once more, not waiting for an answer as she dragged him along behind her. “Hurry up, Naruto!” she called back to him.
The blonde watched them go, his eyes reflecting the hurt he felt inside briefly before, almost instantaneously, it was gone, replaced by his usual grin. After all, that was who he was, Naruto, master of the mask. “Coming Sakura!” Running after them, trying to catch up with his teammates, Naruto began to `suggest' they go to the Ramen stand he loved so much. Much to his surprise, the pink haired girl agreed and soon the trio was
soon seated at the bar of Ichiraku with the blonde twirling about on his stool.
Sasuke Raised an eyebrow at the immature teen, arms crossed over his chest. He wondered briefly if the other boy would ever grow up, but that thought was quickly squashed out of his mind when the blonde began talking to a napkin dispenser. Yes, at times like this, Sasuke questioned Naruto's sanity.
His string of thoughts was interrupted when their orders were asked for. Of course, it was simply three bowls of Miso Ramen, as neither Sakura nor Sasuke could be bothered arguing with Naruto about which flavor was better. Though, in truth, Ramen was not a dish the dark haired shinobi particularly enjoyed.
As soon as their orders arrived, the hyperactive ninja shut out the world and gorged himself on the noodles. By the time Sakura had finished her own meal, Naruto had gone through three bowls. Sasuke never actually ate any of his noodles, rather stirring them around the bowl. It was then that Naruto stole Sasuke's lunch and ate it instead.
“That was nice! Wasn't it Sasuke?” the said boy winced at her loud voice in his ear, but other then that he remained generally unnerved. “Of course it was Sakura! The two most beautiful things in the world are here, you and Ramen!” The blonde boy hugged an empty bowl to his chest. “I wasn't talking to you.” Came the sharp reply before the pink haired girl's attention was turned back upon Sasuke. “Hurry up and pay Naruto, I have things to do.” The stoic boy said simply in his usual, cold voice.
Scowling, the blonde retrieved his wallet from his pocket and searched the contents. “Ah, um, I don't think I have enough…” He grinned apologetically, awaiting certain death as Sakura loomed over him.
“Naruto…” He eyebrow twitched visibly, he voice deathly quiet before she burst out with “How can you bring us here WITHOUT ANY MONEY! How are we going to pay for everything you ate!” She poked his stomach at the word `you'. She was about to say more when yet another voice broke in.
“Shut up.” They turned to see Sasuke, standing with his hands in his pockets as the waitress counted the money he had given her. “You're scaring the other customers.” And with that, the Uchiha began to walk away, out of the Ramen stand and down the street.
The remaining teammates gazed after him for a few seconds without moving before Sakura ran after her long time crush, gushing and cooing at his `kindness'. Naruto scowled and followed the two reluctantly, not bothering to apologize. Dragging themselves down the street, aimlessly wandering through the village. After a rather usual length of silence from the blonde, Naruto broke through Sakura's mindless ramblings. “Sasuke, where are we going exactly?” For once, Sakura was quiet as they waited for the dark haired boy to answer. “No where.” Short as it was, it seemed to satisfy them both. Suddenly, Naruto brightened. “If we don't have anywhere to go then, we can have ice cream!”
Sakura immediately turned upon him. “You can't have any because you don't have any money!” Naruto grinned, reminding Sasuke strongly of a fox; though sudden he had a feeling that his wallet would be much lighter within a few moments.
“Sasuke had money though! Don't you Sasuke!” The blonde boy clasped his hands together. “Please” He pouted and looked almost cute…Sasuke's mind blanched at the word. I did not just call Naruto `cute'. Mentally, he hit himself and scowled. “No.” Again, Naruto pouted. “Pllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaassse Sasuke!” Rolling his eyes, he could do nothing but sigh. “Fine.” And the blonde was gone, charging down the street to the ice cream parlor. Shaking their heads, his two teammates followed.
By the time they arrived, Naruto was already pouring over the list of flavors, trying to decide. Ice cream was yet another thing Sasuke didn't really like; it was much too sweet in his mind. Despite this though, he glanced casually at the list. Sakura having chosen a strawberry and Naruto a rainbow coloured one which hurt Sasuke's eyes, the Uchiha finally just decided upon a very small scoop of vanilla. The blonde, muttering something about Sasuke's lack of imagination, pranced around the parlor with his ice cream in hand for a few moments before finally being persuaded to sit down and eat by Sakura.
At first, the quieter boy of the team simply stared at his ice cream in disgust as it slowly melted. However, his gaze wandered slowly over to where Naruto sat licking contently at his own cone. Sasuke was captivated by the small, pink tongue as it slowly lapped up the frozen treat, the rainbow ice cream disappearing quickly. As the show went on, the pale boy sudden became aware of how hot it was that day and how tight his pants had become. He tried desperately to tear his eyes away from the scene, but somehow, his body just didn't respond. Damndamndamndamn! His mind chanted over and over, trying to force his eyes to work. He knew he was staring, he just couldn't help it. Finally, the blonde finished his cone and began to lick his fingers clean of the sticky ice cream that had melted and dripped over his hands. If possible, this aroused Sasuke even more then it had before. He bit his lip in frustration.
“Thanks Sas-“ Naruto began cheerily, done eating for now. “Sasuke?” He had only just realized that the other boy was staring at him strangely. “Hey, you're ice creams melted!” He pointed at the soup-like sludge that had liquefied and seeped out of the bottom of the ice cream cone and all over his fingers. Glancing down at his hand, the usually stoic boy blushed when he remembered how Naruto had cleaned his own fingers…
Shaking his head to rid himself of the impure thoughts, he stood suddenly, dripping some of the vanilla ice cream/soup onto his shorts. “I-I have to go.” He said suddenly, tossing the ice cream cone in the bin and racing away down the street towards his house. The blonde boy stared after him with an equally confused Sakura. “What's up with him?” She asked, sounding a little put out that he had left. Naruto shrugged. “I'll go find out.” And with that, he too was gone, tearing through the village after his friend and rival.

Authors Notes: Well that was…weird. It moved very slowly, in my mind anyway, and they seemed very out of character, though somehow this has turned into a bit of a humorous fic, ah well. I'll live with it. .
