Chapter 7
The Flower's Thorns
The room was small, smelled of dirt and blood and was marked with unrecognizable stains of recent and times long past. One window was all there was to be able to see the outside world and let light into the chamber. Under this window was a low grade bed, long past it's due to be replaced and was near the end of being able to stay upright by its self.
But, it was not the bed that is the interest in this room, nor the hotel itself, but the pink haired teen and muscled built man that occupied the room. One form lay cowering in a ball as the other stood tall, proud and menacingly over the other.
“Where,” The intimidating form growled lowly. “is that barstad prick you call a boss hiding?” A silent threat hung in air. The form on the bed was shaking with barely suppressed fear and opened their mouth to answer the question; the voice was as small as a mouse's.
“He… he is hiding-”
“I know he is hiding, now tell me where!”
The shaking form jumped in surprise and answered quickly, fear of what would happen if the other was denied what they wanted.
Satisfied with the answer, the stronger of the two of them left, leaving the sniveling male alone in that forsaken room.
The sounds of the night life in the village slowly started to disappear as the black cloaked figure walked deeper into the woods that surrounded the mountain that loomed and stretched into the ever darkening sky.
Owls hooted, bushes rustled, rats squeaked and the last of the day life critters scattered home.
A half hour of walking got the figure to the outer rim of a small clearing, by the side of a cliff, an opening clear as daylight, even in the now complete darkness, was carved into the cliff face.
A small trickle of sound could have been heard as a laugh or chuckle as the cloaked ninja walked up and in, a confident stride in place.
The room was large and carved out from solid stone, furnished with a simple wooden desk and surrounded by chairs, light candles gave off the only light and the smell of blood was thick as the walls as soft cries reverberated back and forth.
A man lay broken on the cold hard floor, surrounded by the bodies of his now dead companions, friends, allies and servants. Necks broken or cut open, letting their life force seep out onto the floor, choking as they had breathed their last breathes, limbs have been cut, broken or ripped from their sockets as their owners moaned in pain and agony…
Now, here he lay. Coated in their blood, their screams echoing in his head, his body shaking in fear, the man whimpered to himself as his attacker walked out of the room silently after having just raided through his treasure room behind him.
Pink hair glistening, skin moist with sweat, Haruno Sakura hummed quietly to herself as she washed the last of the blood from her cloak, her katana lay in the shallows of the tranquil waters of the stream.
As the smell of copper slowly faded with red ink that dyed the waters pink, Haruno opened her back pack adjusted all of its contents to make sure nothing was squashed or damaged, namely the scroll that she was sent on to retrieve.
The Konoha traitor sighed silently to herself as she leaned against the tree behind her, pulling out of her breast pocket her picture of Team 7. Kakashi sensei leaned over his pupils, his only visible eye; the only thing revealed by his ever present mask, was in an upward crescent, the only way she could tell he was smiling.
Sakura's teammates; one had short, spiky, golden hair with bright emotion filled eyes, his skin tanned and his trademark grin in place. Her other teammate held a brooding non-caring look on his pale yet feminine face. His was raven black and his eyes were as dark as bottomless pits, not due to the fact that his eyes were as dark but because of the lack of emotion.
Well, Sakura stood. I better get going. My orders were to get back to Orochimaru before the day after tomorrow. She used a small standard heat jutsu to quickly dry her katana and her cloak and started off to her destination, away from the river.
As the Kunochi made her way through the forest, she noted the ever growing change in the foliage. The trees started to get thinner but closer together, vines hung in every direction from every tree, the grass on the ground was getting thicker, longer and large bushes were sprouting up everywhere.
I've never seen this type of terrain before. The map she was supplied with was the only salvation she had.
Insects hummed all around her but it slowly started to dissipate as she neared an overgrown temple that was close to ruin. The smell of unrecognizable incense clouded her senses and she suddenly felt drowsy but she continued onward and the moment she passes through the temple's vine ridden archway, the smell was suddenly yanked from her being leaving the ninja dizzy and confused.
“Sakura san” Out from one of the many shadows in the Temple's main chamber, the said ninja managed to figure out and see where the other hid.
“Kabuto sama?” The fellow medic nin nodded and stepped forward into the dim light spilling from the archway like a low tide.
“You'll feel better as you body adjusts, just give it time,”
“Oh… okay, then,”
And suddenly, whether it was from her lack of sleep or the sensation the fumes left on her body, Sakura was consumed by darkness.
Hope this helps a the people out there who want to know why Sakura left, though it doesn't give much you'll understand how it all fits later!
