You glanced at Kisame, and then Itachi. Out of nowhere, your stomach starts to drop. You grab your shirt, and lift your hand. It was slowly vanishing into thin air! Your two team mates were already gone. You held your breath, and shut your eyes, re-opening them a moment later. You see familiar faces: Zetsu, Hidan, Tobi, Sasori, Kakuzu, Kisame, Deidara, and Itachi. They were all sitting on chairs that reminded you of Renaissance thrones. The room was located in one of the tallest towers in Rain country. You were surprised to see them all dry. “Glad you could make it, name.” Pein emerged from the shadows, standing over the rest of the members. “What did I do?” you said shaking off the water from your hair. “Nothing, yet. We needed your presence here so we could decide…” Tobi burst in through the door. You chuckled lightly. He saw you laugh, and put his arm around your neck. “Yo!” Pein grew annoyed with Tobi's antics. You whispered, “Tobi…shh…” and he went silent. “Thank you. But to continue, we needed you here in order for us to see if you are truly worthy of joining the Akatsuki.” You raised an eyebrow. “What? I thought I was already recruited!” Paper flowers formed beside you into a figure of Konan. Her real features faded in slowly. “No, you were not, name. You were an understudy for the past months. To become a full member, you must fight one of us…” She said calmly. “Correct. If you just so happen to lose, you become part of the Akatsuki. If you win, you may leave, and return to your… normal life.” Pein finished. So many thoughts clouded in your head. You could win knowing everything that you learned from one training session and go home to the life you wanted, or let someone defeat you purposely, just so you join a group where 70% of the members hated you. “I accept...” You mustered. “Good, I will choose your opponent…” Sweat formed on your forehead. You were nervous to see who you were going to go up against. Pein placed a hand on his chin. “Deidara.” Your jaw dropped slightly. Kisame glanced at you with an assuring face. “I can't do this… I cannot do this…” Your hands were trembling as your sparring partner rose from his seat. He looked cocky believing that he could end the fight “with a bang!” as he would say. You became terrified. He wouldn't go all the way and make you explode… would he? “C-can we at least take it outside?” you asked. “Sure.” Pein responded. You and Deidara both disappeared into a muddy field. It was raining harder than it was in the city! No one else was around, and you were miles from civilization. “Ha, are you ready, name? I can already see you shaking with fear!” You two were a few yards apart. You swallowed heavily, as he reached into his bag of clay for a moment, balling his hand into a fist. You readied your chakra into both fists, so you can attack him head on. With a flick of his wrist, clay birds flew at you from the mouth on his hand. In response, you went full force and burrowed through the creations to land a punch on Deidara. They exploded instantly. He was shocked that you had the nerve to destroy his work of art with your bare hands. You tumbled on the ground from the explosion, and spat out a pint of blood. Your eyes became very moist due to the rain, and the smoke from the bomb. You lifted your hand from which you used to punch the creation, and discovered it was covered in red liquid. You cursed out loud, hearing footsteps approaching. Deidara humored you, and lay on the ground in the same pose as you. “You knew those would blow up as soon as your skin made contact…are you seriously that stupid…?” Your eyes started to sting. “Are you seriously that dense!?” you mocked raising your voice. “I was trying to impress you!” You coughed. “I trained under Kisame, I bled more than I thought I could… I didn't want to look vulnerable…in front of you…” Water rolled on the side of your cheeks as a bolt of lightning stretched across the sky. Deidara's lips curled upward as he sat on your lower waist with his knees at your sides. His face slowly moved in on yours. You were too sore to blush, gasp, or do anything. Your heart felt like it was about to burst into a thousand pieces. Parts of his wet blonde hair fell upon your face as he whispered in your ear: “You're gonna have to try harder than that…” You became furious. He stood up to leave. You were about to punch him into submission, until you realized you were tied up by a giant clay centipede. “What?” “I win this fight, name. You can try impressing me some other time…”Deidara grinned at you. Another strike of lightning flashed, and he was gone. Kisame's words during training made a place in the back of your brain. You faced the fact that he was absolutely right. You were shocked and confused when you were against Deidara. You felt completely exposed, and as much as you hated it, vulnerable. You purposely put yourself in danger and admitted your feelings for your opponent, not only an opponent, but an S-Rank criminal. That was not the ninja way. “What kind of kunoichi am I!?” you shouted laying face up, as rolls of thunder spread throughout the clouds. Deidara didn't even return to help you. You felt like staying in that spot forever. Tears were streaming down your face causing your eyes to grow red and puffy. You stood up slowly, standing in the pouring rain. With your soaked sleeve, you wiped off the remaining tears, and headed east. You really wanted to be home in Konoha right now. You spent exactly three days traveling on your own. Racing through towns, forests, and cities. Each footstep you took was swift, and it was the perfect chance to think to yourself. You stopped in a day spa one morning for your own relaxing bath. You sat in the hot pool of water contemplating. Ever since you first saw him, he was on your mind. It did seem like he was being selfish, mocking you about the whole “I like you, so like me back” thing. You made a painful decision, and decided that Deidara wasn't worth your time and effort. “If he wanted to be a man about it, he'd come back …” you gave a relieved sigh, as you sunk lower into the soothing water. Suddenly, you hear footsteps coming at your door. “Deidara…?” The person opened the slider door, inviting himself in. Your face went red, hiding under the water grabbing your knees. “Name!” Your eyes doubled in size, when you recognized the voice. “Tobi?!” You lifted your head up from the water. It was him. “Yes! I finally found you! Senpai said I couldn't do it, but I did!!” he ran over to hug you. “Ah! No no no no!! Wait! Toss me a towel first!” “A towel?” “Yes.” “This one right here?” “No, the one in the land of holy towels, yes that one!!” With his extremely tall height, Tobi stood over you with a green towel in his hand teasingly. “You have to get up if you want it so badly! Haha!” You tried stretching your arm out for it, but it was no use. “Give it here!!” you whined. He continued taunting you with the towel. Your brain then hatched up an idea: You decided to throw a fit. You started crying pure crocodile tears. “Please!! S-stop!! Wh-why are you doing this, huh? I….I t-t-thought you…you were a good boy!” you hiccupped, splashing the water hysterically. He instantly dropped the towel. “No! I-I didn't mean it name-chan! Tobi is good boy! Tobi doesn't want you to cry! Please stop crying, name! See? I'm giving you the towel right now!” He handed it to you, and you grinned. “Thank you.” Suddenly, a “clone” of you cross kicked Tobi in the back, causing him to plunge into the hot water you was sitting in. You disappeared from the pool, as the real you stood at the edge of the water laughing. You felt proud of yourself. You were practicing shadow clone techniques forever! It took at least a hundred tries until you got it right! You wrapped yourself with the towel, helping Tobi out of the water. “Open the door right now!” During mid-grab, you and Tobi shared a look of confusion. Suddenly, a barrage of security guards rammed through the paper slide door. “You!” one of them shouted pointing at Tobi. “Me?” They gasped at his appearance. Tall, with spiky black hair and an orange spiral mask with a hole on the right side of where his eye would/should be. He was definitely criminal material. “Is this how you get your sick kicks?! You're coming with us, you freak!!” They shoved you out of the scene, hauling Tobi away in ropes. “Wait! Why are you taking him away?” you asked the guards. “We received a complaint from one of the customers saying a girl was being assaulted in this room.” “What?!!!” They continued to carry him out the door. “Oh shit… what do I do now!?” You quickly slipped back into your normal clothing, and grabbed the guards' attention. “Hey! Look! That's him! The guy! He's leaving! He's right there!” you screamed pointing out the window. They all rushed by you to have a look at the criminal. You ran out of the way, grabbed your kunai, and cut the ropes holding Tobi with haste. “C'mon!” The two of you ran like hell. “I don't see any…” the leader of the guards noticed the cut ropes on the ground. “That guy got away!! Get a search party team out here now!!” “Oh man, that was a close one!” Tobi said sweat dropping. “Psh, you're telling me… how did you know I was there, though?” “Lucky guess.” You smiled from ear to ear, as you both sprinted through tree branches trying to flee the misunderstood `crime'. “Where are we heading?” “To Rain country, name-chan!” “Wha- Why?!” “Because that's what I was assigned to do!” You frowned. “Hm? What's wrong?” “Nothing.” Tobi stopped running, as did you. “I said what's wrong?” “And I said nothing….” He sat down on a large boulder. The sun was starting to set, as its orange-pink rays reflected upon Tobi's slender figure. You sat down on the grass with your hand holding your chin up. You let out a light sigh, when footsteps approached you from behind. “Tobi, if you try and hug me right now, I swear, I'll…” you quickly turned around, but see none other than Deidara. You huffed, and turned back around. He sat by you with his legs crossed, tossing and catching a ball of clay. “What's the deal with you, hmm?” You turned from him slightly. “Nothing, just leave me alone.” Deidara chuckled. “I don't see what's funny…” “You're funny, name… Did you really think I'd fall for you out of nowhere? You're not even that special, y'know…?” You were speechless. He just had to bring that subject up. You wished you never ever gained interest in the blonde terrorist, right now. He put you down right in front of your face. “Well I'm sorry for liking you…” you said silently. There was a short pause. You balled your hand into a fist with all of your might. As soon as he made eye contact with you, you slammed that fist into his face. He went back a few feet, while his clay creation was sent into a nearby bush. You stood up, and walked by his side. His eyes were widened with shock and anger. “…The hell is wrong with you, yeah!?” You shook your wrist. “You deserved it!! Stupid artist!” He grabbed your ankle and pulled you to the ground forcefully. “What did you say?!!” “You heard what I said…!!” Your throat was seized by his grip. The mouth on his hand clamped onto your skin. “Get… off me!” You yanked his hair, kneed him in the crotch, and ran. Tobi came from behind a tree pulling up his pants, oblivious to what was going on. You ran to him, yanking his arm frantically. “Take me home!” “Wh-what?” “Take me home! Just do it!” He scratched the back of his head. “Umm… err….” “C'mon!! What are you waiting fo…” Deidara stomped in front of the two of you. His hair was totally disoriented, with bits of dirt and grass caked on it. “Tobi, if you touch her, I'll rip your fucking throat out!! Hmm!!” You mocked his threat, “Ooh, scary…” while slowly hiding behind Tobi. You placed your fingers on your damaged neck. You whispered, “Go ahead, he doesn't care. He's just mad that I beat him up!” “WHAT?!?!” Deidara was at his limit with your existence. He threw twelve clay spiders at you and Tobi. The explosion was fairly huge, the damage stretched on for miles. Once the smoke cleared up, you and Tobi were gone. All that was left were your footprints. Deidara's eyes narrowed with homicidal rage.
“TOBI!!!!!!!!!!!!”
