"Trust me you will. Now like I said before you will find out why on Monday morning." Then she shut the window turned off the light and went to bed.
As Sasuke climbed back into his window he thought, 'Now I'am starting to worry about this so called surprise on Monday. Then he shut off his light and had a restless sleep.
***Sasuke's Surprise***
Sunday flew by as the girls took a full day to relax from the past week of traveling. Currently Aradia is the only one awake, so as always she goes around waking up her sisters.
"Shiori," no response. "SHIORI!!! Get your lazy ass, up out of that bed now!"
Groggily she responses, "Five more minutes." Then she rolls back over to go back to sleep.
Throwing the covers off of her younger sister, she yells once more. "You had all DAY to rest yesterday. Now, like I said before, get YOUR ass out of bed. YOU'RE going to be LATE for WORK!"
"Aiii, Aradia couldn't you have woken me up sooner so I wouldn't be late."
"Shiori, you have a little over an hour to get ready and be there, before you're late. So I suggest you get up and get ready. Oh, and u might wanna hurry with your shower, I'am waking your sister in about fifteen minutes." and with that she was gone. Hopping up out of her comfy bed, she prepairs for the day ahead.
*Meanwhile*
"So Sasuke, you still nerveous? You know, about the so called "surprise" form Naoko?"
"No you baka, it's just got me on edge thinking, and trying to figure out what she is going to tell me."
"Yupp, you're nerveous alright. Shape up man, it's not like she's going to propose to you or anything like confessing her undying love and obedience to you."
Cracking Sai in the head for his uncharacteristic behavior, "Dude, will you shut up already. What's got you in such a great mood anyways. Wait don't answer that, it's Shiori aint it?"
"Hey man I would be worrying bout your own ass, not mine. But yes it is, I'am walking her to work today, and afterwards I'am taking her out for Oden."
"Alright man, whatever you say. But hey you better be going she's supposed to leave in what, ten minutes."
"Guess you're right. Later man." peeking his head back in through the door he adds, "Oh, and have fun with Naoko!"
What the fuck am I getting myself into again? Well whatever the surprise is, I guess that after I see it, I won't be drawn to her as I am now. Ughh, a guy can hope can't he? Woah, Naruto is here early, even for him, he usually just shows up with Kakashi-sensei. Guess Hinata made him show up earlier than usual to appologize. Keh, like he's going to without a little incouragement from a certain girls fists.
"Oi, Sasuke, why aint Naoko here yet?"
"You dobe, you actually think I'd walk her here. Why do you want to know anyways, a little eager for another ass whopping I suppose?"
"Ehhh, no. Not exactly, Hinata just wants me to apologize, since I didn't Saturday night. So I better get it over with."
"Yeah, you better hurry with remembering your speech, both her and Kakashi are coming as we speak."
**BACK WITH NAOKO**
"Aradia, where are my boyfriend-tanks?"
"Why do you even need it, ooo, nevermind I remember why. They're in the top right drawer of your dresser. I think you should wear the long black one, you know with the gold trim, then with your gold and black sparring shorts."
"Already got them on Aradia. Hey, nee-chan, why is there a traditional style kimono in my closet?"
"Oh that, isn't it lovely?"
"Aradia, I didn't fucking ask for it's quality, I asked what the fuck is it doing in here. I don't need it."
"Well, actually you do, the Autumn Festival is coming up shortly. And don't even think about trying to weasel your way out of it this year. Kakashi says you have to go anyways." Watching a fumed Naoko coming out ready for training she reminds her sister. "Don't forget your swords, ne?"
"Dammit, I wouldn't have almost forgotten them if you weren't bothering me. Hey did you get me the new sandals I asked you for?"
"Yeah, they're by the door. I'am actually surprised you finally thought to get a pair that has ties going up and around your calves, so you won't lose them so easily."
"Whatever, I got to get going though, don't want Kakashi up my ass for what he says "stalling". In my opinion, he needs to let me handle this situation with Sask without interruptions. Later."
"Well, Ryu, I will get off your case, after you show Sasuke who you actually are."
"Oi Kakashi, what the fuck!! Eaves dropping again, will you ever grow up? So how late exactly are we going to be training? And could I please have like twenty minutes to gather myself before me and you spar?"
"Actually I'am quite grown. We will be training at least until noon. And of course, you'll have an hour at most. And good your brought your swords. Now be prepaired, they're already waiting."
"So let's get this straight, after I take the concealment off, I'am not allowed to wear it again. At least until a top mission?"
"Yup, so get on with it, go to the springs, and I'll be there an hour after Sasuke storms out of there. Have fun."
***AT THE TRAINING GROUNDS***
"Eh, Naoko listen, I...."
"Not now Naruto, sorry but I have business with Sasuke here. Sasuke follow me, NOW!"
Without another word she disappears through the foliage, with Sasuke in tow.
After coming to a stop by the waterfall, Naoko sits down and motions for Sasuke to do the same.
"Well, what is it that we have to talk about, that was so important to keep form me until now?" asked an irrate Uchiha.
"Well it's actually about Ryu. And how Ryu came to um...how do I say this...Ryu is NOT dead, anymore."
"WHAT! What do you mean not dead anymore? I mean once you die, there's no coming back."
"Well, Ryu didn't actually die, just went away in hiding. Ryu also isn't who you thought 'him' to be."
"Why did he have to hide anyways? I mean if you guys were jsut returning to the palace, then why would he feel the need to?"
Taking a deep breathe and pulling off her circelet, Sasuke is assualted by a power chakra, and Ryu?
"YOUR RYU?!?! And that was you in the forest, the powerful chakra. Why did you hide this form me, why did everyone for that matter keep this form me?"
"Well yea, Hokage-sama told me I would not be allowed to keep on my concealment anymore, and same with my sisters. Ryu had to kind of die when we got back to the palace, since I have to be all prim and proper, I couldn't be who I wanted to be. And now you know why I flipped out on you when you kissed me. I know you regret it now. And I never mislead you, I said my name was Ryu, I didn't say that was my whole name, or that I was a boy. My full name is Naoko Ryuko Takegano, but you have always known me as Ryu. Gomen nasii Sask, I never meant to hurt you." With that she turned dejectedly away, afraid of what was to come next.
Sasuke didn't even think as he blew up, completely frustrated and outraged he acted on instict alone."How. Could. You?!?! First you leave without saying anything to me. Then you come back without telling me who you really are, instead saying that my once best friend was DEAD. You lead ME on, and know you're say your SORRY!?!" Fueled by pure rage and power that he didn't realize he had, he punched her square in the face. After realizing what he'd done, not noticing the fact she had already been crying. He tries to apologize."Ryu I'am so sor...
"I don't care anymore Sask, I knew you would be pissed, but I didn't think you would hit me, just go." and with that the onslaught of tears came as she transported herself out of his vision and reach behind the waterfall.
"Ryu, I said I was sorry. Just please come out, for me? I wasn't thinking when I hit you. I was just really pissed."
Popping out again to confront the once 'best friend' she flips.
"Fucking right you weren't thinking! Listen to yourself, you NEVER fucking think!" Crying even harder now. "You automatically assumed I was a guy. I never lead you on, if anything I was trying to dissuade you from even liking me for more than just a friend. You actually think I wanted you to have a love interest in me. Fuck Sask, I just can't get attached to you, and vise versa, or it will be even harder for me to tell you the rest."
"Please just stop crying, I'm sorry I really am. You should know better than anyone else that I never apologize, not to ANYONE." At least point Sasuke is already kneeling on the ground to pull Naoko into a comforting embrace. "Shhh, now calm down, I will not let go until you do. I, I don't want to lose my best friend again."
"CALM DOWN!! You're trying to tell ME to CALM DOWN!! Fine I'll calm down just to tell you the rest. Then we will see who is the fucking calm one here."
"What do you mean the rest?"
"The real reason why I returned was because our fathers' decided to, well betroth us. And I want that destroyed. Father said that I couldn't set it onto void if I didn't have the main Uchiha's consent. So only you can give me that permission. And I'am pretty fucking sure that you don't want to marry me, just as much as I don't want to marry you! You happy now, so come by my apartment later and we will set this on void."
"What makes you think I actually will allow you to void it!"
"Because, if you are truly my best friend, you would care about my happiness. I don't want to marry because I have to. I want to marry because I want to, I want to be in love when I marry. Plus if you don't void it. And if I'am forced into marriage, I will never, and I mean NEVER give you an heir, then both of our powerful bloodlines will deminish. And I know for fucking certain you don't want that. I'am sorry but, Itachi has a better chance at fucking me than you ever will at this point. So now you want to void it?"
Shock, stunned, and dejectedly Sasuke lets Naoko go, stand with his back turned and clenched fists he says, "Fine, we will void the fucking thing." turning back around to look at her, "But can we at least still be friends. I still don't want to lose you, we were always so close. Just please don't take that away from me."
"Fine, now leave me be. I don't want to be near you anymore today than I have to be." With that she was gone behind the waterfall once more, and watched as Sasuke went back to join the others.
After she knew that he was out of hearing range, she called on the mysterious and unknown eavesdropper. "You can come out now."
Gaara walked out into the clearing just as Naoko stepped out from behind the falls.
"Who are you? Why were you listening to my conversation, and why are you in Konoha?"
"Gaara of the sand. I just happend to be heading here to bathe, and I can be where ever I choose. Also you being here and witnessing the great Uchiha begging and pleading are both just an added plus. But it seems I get to kill to birds with one stone you may say."
"Oh really now, and just why is that? Are you the one who has been trying to track me?"
"Such a smart little one aren't you? Your father has been growing impatient, he wants to know the Uchiha's answer."
"Oh, so your father's new lackey, and he wants his answer now, fine I'll make a connection with him after our conversation is over. Now what else is on your mind, considering there's a mental block up, I can't read your thoughts. So out with it already."
"Lord Takegano has given permission, that if the Uchiha's void the contract for you to marry into their clan, that I will be allowed to court you."
"One moment, let me talk to my father."
'Father, it is Naoko, I have spoken to Sasuke.'
'So I see Gaara has found you then, and I suppose you have good news for me then as well?'
'Well semi good news for me at least, Sasuke has agreed to void the marriage. But is it true father, what Gaara has told me?'
'Yes, my daughter, I have given him permission to court you. That was only if you were to get out of the betrothal.'
'Hai father, as you wish'
"Okay it seems that you were telling the truth after all. Now I must go back to my group."

When she starts to walk back she notices Gaara, who is now unfortunately her boyfriend, is following her.
"Why are you following me? I have to go train."
"I am allowed to do so. Plus I am taking you out tonight. You're not going to get out of it either."
"Ughh, fine just do NOT get in my way."
Damn father and his damn ways. How can he be so cruel to me. First ingaging me to Sasuke, and now this. Hehe, looks like everyone is in for a major surprise.
