It almost makes me sick. It almost makes me wanna throw up.

 

I'm sitting down. At my own little table. Head propped up against my arm. I see you. Over there. With your friends. With those kinds of people. Really. It makes me sick.

 

But underneath all those horrid feelings. I feel something. I don't like it. I don't like it at all. It's that feeling.

 

I can't have you. I just can't. No matter how hard I try. I know I can't.

And that's the feeling I don't like.

 

I mean, look at you.

 

Pretty, soft, blonde hair. Happy blue eyes. You've got that flirtatious grin too. I'm watching you. From over here. You look like you're telling a joke. You're talking animatedly. Arms. Making gestures.

 

Your friends smile. That's just the thing.

You have friends.

 

They ruffle your hair. They laugh. They slap your back. I'm almost burning with jealousy now. Petty as it sounds, I want to be that familiar with you.

 

But no. You would never like me. I'm just some emo kid in the background.

 

Oh. Look. It's that girl. She's twiddling her thumbs. She won't even look at you. She's blushing. She likes you.

 

God, can you be oblivious or what? You smile at her and say something to her. I can't hear from here. But she smiles too and laughs. See? You make everyone happy. Everyone likes you. Everyone.

 

A girl with pink hair walks by. While all your friends are smiling and laughing, your jaw suddenly drops. You're looking at her. And I see what it is.

 

You. Like her.

 

Your pretty eyes get all misty. And now you've got a dorky smile on your face. It pisses me off.

 

Why can't you smile for me like that?

 

But I know. You're straight. You're so obviously straight, it hurts.

 

I'm so busy looking at you, that I don't even notice that girl walking towards me. She sits down in the seat next to me. I look sideways at her.

 

She's batting her green eyes at me. She pulls back her pink hair behind her ear.

 

“Hi Sasuke-kun!” She squeals. I wince. Her voice is so shrill.

 

I ignore her. I look in the opposite direction.

 

Fucking go away.

 

My eyes flicker over back to you. You're staring at us. A look of disbelief on your face. I want to cry.

 

No! No! I don't like her! I don't like girls!

 

She's snapping her gum next to me. “My name's Sakura. You can call me Sakura-chan if you want.”

 

I glare at her. She doesn't notice.

 

“SAKURA!!” She turns around. This blonde girl is waving to her.

“C'mon Sakura, doncha wanna go to McDonalds for lunch??”

 

She yells something back and turns back to me. She flashes me a smile.

“Bye Sasuke-kun!!”

 

As she walks away, I'm rolling my eyes. Slut.

 

I look back at you. I'm shocked to see you're looking back at me. I feel my face heating up. But you haven't got any expressions on your face. You're just staring at me.

 

I look down. Then I look back up again. You're still staring.

 

I frown. I pick up my bag. And I leave the lunch room.
