Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Balance ❯ Prologue ( Chapter 1 )

So, okay. Another shot at fanfiction. Who- Hoo! To all those who read and updated on my story “The Sands of Time” thanks and heh, sorry it's taking so long for another chapter. Life gets in they way. I've been working on this one for a few weeks now.

 

If anyone knows any good Yondaime, Minato Namikaze or (Bleh, It hurts to say it) Arashi fanfiction where he comes back or Naruto goes back, please, PLEASE leave a review with a link. I will be most grateful and I think It will help on my writing.

Prologue

 

The will to live is truly something. It starts in the heart; beating- beating until it consumes the very mind and it fights with savage power as it consumes the soul.

 

When the Kyuubi no yoko attacked Konohagakure that fateful October night, everyone thought Yondaime Hokage, Namikaze Minato, the renowned Yellow Flash, gave his life for his village. In a sense, they were right.

 

But also very, very wrong.

 

The shinigami of the Reaper Death Seal demanded a price of equal value be given for sealing something. Usually it was the user's life and part of the power of the thing being sealed. The shinigami is just and fair to all who call upon him. All celestial beings believe in a balance to all things. He deemed Minato to be too young and with too much to lose. By taking his life, the balance would tip and so, Minato's body went into stasis inside the belly of the shinigami until the next time the Reaper Death Seal was used so that Minato's body and soul could be returned.

 

Thirteen years later, during the infamous chuunin exams, his time came. The sound invaded and along came the snake. Old man Sarutobi, the Sandaime, the Professor, was determined to kill his prized and favored student Orochimaru, the legendary Hebi Sannin and S-class missing Nin. But the snake was also determined to kill his teacher.

 

So when Sandaime used the Reaper Death Seal, the shinigami knew the old man was ready to die. With Orochimaru's arms cut off, and Sandaime's life as the price, the shinigami returned the Yellow Flash's body in perfect form and life beside the old man's body and returned balance. He also left a message:

 

Here are truly great men. It was not the younger's time to die as the balance was tipped. The old man's life as the price has been accepted. Balance has been restored.
