Chapter Thirteen: Problems
Samiko and Natari heard her and each froze. Silence swirled around them as nothing but the ticking off of the clock echoed in their ears. The three girls barely moved an inch as the news settled in. If Sai found them then, the other gang members would be definitely close behind. The Kanpeki would definitely track them down like wolf hounds and nothing would stop them. Sakura flinched at the mere mention of his words. Her eyes widened fearfully as her throat tightened at the very thought of the Kanpeki finding them again.
Samiko swallowed hard, finally managing to break the silence. "D-Does he know about us?"
"No," Sakura clutched her sides as hot salty tears threatened to spring out of her eyes. "I need to move again. I can't stay here."
Natari frowned a bit at Sakura's sudden submission. "Sakura, didn't Tsunade say, she would protect you."
"Hai, she did but," Sakura stopped for a few moments, shaking her head in dismay. "Come on, Tsunade wouldn't be able to take on the entire Kanpeki."
For the rest of the night, all of them remained silent as Sakura finally gained the strength to stand up before walking towards the bathroom. As the door clicked behind her, she could feel her whole body nearly collapse before finding herself slumped against the cold tiled wall. Silence pounded deafeningly as her vision began to swirl. When was this all going to end? Did he ever know the meaning of stop? The pink haired female whimpered softly before leaning against the sink bowl and turning on the faucet. As the faucet gushed to life, Sakura splashed cold water on her face while watching the salty tears flow quietly down the drain.
…Red Gang…..
"You asked for a meeting," Sasuke raised an eyebrow irritably, standing in front of the gang in his house. "Care to tell me why?"
Neji frowned darkly at the Uchiha's sarcastic tone. "It's about Haruno Sakura, Hoshi Samiko and Nioshu Natari."
Ten-ten blinked several times. "What about them?"
The female indigo haired Hyuuga swallowed hard. "They have children."
The whole gang stared at her as if she grew another head. "What?"
"Neji, Temari and I went for a walk when we saw Sakura with four boys playing at the park. Sakura was rude to us. But when her cell phone went off," Hinata cast a melancholy gaze to the ground. "She seemed completely terrified. She even started looking around frantically before leaving us behind. Her eyes really went wide – as in completely terrorized wide."
Sasuke relaxed his stance before folding his arms. "So, who was on the cell phone?"
"The person said his name was Sai," Neji pondered deeply, leaning against the wall. "That was when I was able to snatch the phone from Sakura."
Sasuke's eyes widened a bit then narrowed darkly. "You mean Kanpeki gang; Sai?"
Temari nodded her head in agreement. "From what our spy said that there is one Sai."
"I think those girls are being hounded by something more than we realize," Neji balled his hand into a fist. "That day she fought Akito then you. I saw that her smile was a fake. "
Sasuke was about to open his mouth when he heard the door opening. "Sasuke," – a young male suddenly appeared in front of the door before casting around. "Bad timing?"
"Brother." Sasuke acknowledged before pondering deeply. Who were the Kanpeki?
"Hello, Itachi." Everyone else greeted in response.
Itachi nodded in response before sitting amongst them. "I couldn't help but overhear about the Kanpeki. Our spy found out that Sai is coming here after his mission. Our spy said that he is looking for Haruno Sakura."
"I thought so." Neji frowned deeply.
Sasuke glanced at his brother immediately. "She goes to our college. Itachi what about Hoshi Samiko and Nioshu Natari?"
"What about them?" Itachi raised an eyebrow.
"We think that they are also on the run from Kanpeki, but we have no proof." Hinata quietly admitted.
Itachi looked at her then closed his eyes. "You need to find out. Each male member is allowed ONE female companion that is aware of the workings of the gang or just to be their breeder. If they are we need to make sure that they aren't truly into their gangs."
Itachi left the room and five minutes later he came back into the room with pictures. "This is what the mark is and looks like."
Placing down a set of folders, Itachi soon left them to do their work. Sasuke opened the first folder as pictures of members showed up; none of which looked familiar to him. Neji began skimming over the other papers that had been attached to the folders. However, they all found themselves looking at the picture only to see a circle with KM meaning member and the companion mark was the name of the member and or with M, b, w. Each letter had a different meaning one was mate, wife or breeder.
The group nodded to one another; this had to end. Now.
However, one problem remained: how to get the information out of them.
"You know they'll find a way how to hide one another," Neji frowned before sitting down on the ground once again. "Once we approach one, the other two get defensive."
Temari scratched her head in annoyance. "Splitting them up would probably be the best way. The problem is – how do we do that? They're stuck to each other like glue."
"We have to make them subconsciously move away from one another," Shikamaru placed down a paper, pulling out a pencil. "And I think, I have just the thing."
The gang stared at him as Shikamaru began drafting out plans. "The catch is to get them all on break or a time where their mind is the most at ease. Since having only one of us will make thing a bit uneasy for them, we'll go by threes. Each team will have at least one person who Sakura knows personally so we'll make sure things work out well. Hinata, you Temari and Neji go after Samiko. Naruto, Tenten, Ino, you guys tail down Natari. Sasuke, Kiba, you guys are with me. We're going after Sakura."
"When are we going to do this exactly," Ino raised an eyebrow at Shikamaru as the Nara member smiled.
"We're doing this tomorrow. Don't make it look conspicuous."
….Sai…
Night prowled around as the pale skinned male found himself in front of a fortress of a house. Sai walked through calmly before taking a running jump, sailing over the walls and into the grounds. Swivelling his head around to check for any responses, Sai continued his quieted pace before entering the house. A smile made its way to his face as he walked through the doors with inaudible footsteps.
"No resistance," Sai smirked in amusement before walking towards the rooms. "Good. I'll do this quickly."
Sai lifted his foot gently onto the stairs, avoiding the creaking wood as he did so. His eyes sharply watched every movement before finding a door slightly ajar. A small light peeked out of it before Sai managed to crouch and take a good peek. However, what met his eye was a gun point as he forced himself to immediately dodge roll out of the way. Another man kicked the door before holding a Winchester shotgun and blowing a hole through the wall. Sai stared for a few moments but not before pulling out his hand gun and trying to get a good shot. A frown curled up his lips as he leapt out of the way of the exploding bullets.
I didn't know people still preserved that kind of artillery. If I let him continue shooting, it will wake up the entire house! Or probably make the whole house collapse – whichever comes first.
Sai leapt out behind the wall before finally inserting a bullet into the man's head. A dark crimson dot formed at the man's forehead as he fell down with a loud thud. Sai sighed in achievement to himself until he heard the door creak a bit. Two children showed up as they stared fearfully at the man with a gunpoint. A slow ghostly smile appeared on Sai's lips as the kids shivered at the intensity of his sharp cold unfeeling gaze.
Soon, two gun shots echoed throughout the night before he finally chose to return back to headquarters and take on the next mission.
…..Sakura…
"So, he managed to find you again," Tsunade frowned as Sakura nodded weakly. "The only thing I can tell you to do now is block the number from your cellphone. Other than that, I will try to track down this man. Don't worry too much about it."
Sakura found herself unable to relax as she walked out slowly from the office. Her body trembled at the mere thought of Sai reappearing in her life again. However, a frown formed at her lips as she remembered the people who had tried to approach her. Neji, Hinata and Temari – what did they want from her? The pink haired female hissed inwardly before continuing to walk towards a store.
"Arf!"
Suddenly shaken out of her trance, Sakura immediately spun around only to find a dog barking at the window from its cage. A small smile formed on her lips as the dog wagged its tail affectionately before staring at her with big black eyes. A helpless smile escaped her as she found herself walking to the counter, handing over the money.
"I want that dog," she pointed out the black dog that had continued to stare at her the whole time.
Upon getting home, a huge smile appeared on her children's faces as they affectionately called the dog Shadow. Ryuu and Taytai immediately ran out the door with Shadow as Sakura began trailing behind towards Tsunade's office. Fair enough, the blonde older woman found herself astonished with a dog jumping onto her desk and affectionately licking her face.
Monday came around and nothing happened at college this time, Akito wasn't at college either was any of the reds gang. Sakura finally was okay. Samiko and Natari told Natari's parents and they tried to get a plane tickets to Tokyo but the flights were filled until two months from now.
Sakura didn't know if she should leave with them or not. She was getting tired of moving or looking over her back all the time.
…..Thursday…..
Now it was time for college again, she made her way into the building but not before watching the Red Gang looking at her. Sakura narrowed her eyes before letting a sigh escape her lips, moving towards the bathroom. Tears threatened to spill out of her eyes as she doused her face with cold water. Her body shivered slightly from the icy feeling licking against her face but she found herself instead staring a dead devoid green eyes. Sakura shook her head before tracing the reflection on the mirror, not noticing that someone suddenly grabbed her from behind. Sakura immediately kicked up a fuss but found herself gasping heavily for air, seeing as the hand remained cemented to her face.
"Sasuke, hurry," Sakura frowned; what did he want from her now?
Sasuke soon appeared in front of her as he advanced slowly. His black eyes bore into her emerald green ones as he unclipped the bracelet. As he started checking and brushing the mark on her skin, Sakura immediately had images flashing before her eyes. Tears threatened to spill out as images of the man she feared etched itself in her memory.
Sai touching her everywhere, managing to elicit a moan from her.
Sai taking away everything.
Most of all, Sai never giving up with that crooked sneer on his face.
Fair enough, her body crumbled from the weight of her memories. Her eyes spilled out hot salty tears as she finally stopped struggling. Her knees started giving way with her arms trembling and her heart pounding wildly in her ears. What did these people want from her?
"Neji, go outside." Sakura heard Sasuke saying. Neji let her go as he left the room.
Sasuke gently place the bracelet on again before standing a few inches away from her. "Sakura, look at me."
Sakura quickly got mad at herself and then at Sasuke. Without any warning, Sakura had her fist make contact with Sasuke's stomach which caused him to keel over in shock. The black haired Uchiha managed to keep his consciousness but found himself falling to the ground as his eyes met a phony smile. Satisfied with his appearance, Sakura left him a good kick to the face before glaring at Neji and Shikamaru. Really, things had begun pushing her limit.
"I've had enough of this," Sakura glared before stalking off to class. "Stay away from me."
Other than that, the day had become pretty uneventful as she continued walking and sticking with her friends. Although Natari and Samiko found it unusually strange that Sakura had become deathly silent, they too had their own problems.
Sakura, Samiko and Natari went towards their work. They punched in their code and went into the child care center.
….Reds Gang….
"So?" Sasuke winced from the pain from Sakura's punch before applying an ice pack to his face. Damn, that girl can hit hard!
"We have confirmed that Samiko is a breeder to Daiki." Temari frowned darkly before showing them a paper with Daiki's name on it and a symbol.
"Natari also is a breeder by to Kane." Ino angrily kicked over a chair before slumping onto another chair.
"Sakura is too, but her marking had all three of them. Mate, Breeder and wife to Sai." Sasuke narrowed his eyes darkly at the memory. "I didn't know these guys became that aggressive."
"Since we confirmed as they are and not in Kanpeki," Neji nodded at Sasuke as the younger Uchiha sighed before pulling out his cellphone. "Itachi should know too."
After a few rings, Itachi finally answered the phone with Sasuke telling him to listen. For a few five minutes, Sasuke explained patiently to his older brother as Itachi quietly went over the facts. However, what the Red Gang noticed now was that Sasuke's eyes were as wide as onion rings as they heard a few muffled sentences from the cellphone.
"What? She can't stand me even before what I did." Sasuke sputtered before twitching furiously. Is he suggesting what I think he's suggesting?
After quite a logical and philosophical argument with the older brother, Sasuke sighed in defeat. "Fine, I'll try. Don't expect good results. If I get my ass plastered, I know who to blame."
As the phone went down, Sasuke sighed before sitting on one of the chairs. "We need them to tell us what happened to them."
"I hate to burst your bubble but didn't we just try that," Kiba raised an eyebrow questioningly at the male Uchiha. "I think the welt on your face and a bruised stomach can answer for that."
Sasuke glared at the Inuzuka male before leaning back relaxing on his chair. "We did confirmation not confrontation, dumbass. There's a difference."
"I don't know, it sounded more like confrontation to me," Naruto blinked several times only to get whacked on the head by Temari.
The dirty blonde woman suddenly got his by realization. "I heard Sakura lives with Tsunade. I should be able to get some information from her. I know where that is."
Sasuke raised an eyebrow at her. "Think you'll get better results?"
"Definitely better than a bruise on the stomach and a welt on the face," Temari chuckled good-naturedly only to get silenced by Sasuke's glare.
"I didn't expect her to plaster me, alright," Sasuke growled darkly before turning away from the rest of them. "You guys get home and rest. We'll continue this tomorrow morning."
