Beloved

“You're doing it again, aren't you?” Kakuzu asked.

Hidan looked at his partner as he sat on his usual desk in their room. “What?”

“Didn't I tell you it's not a good idea to stalk him?” Kakuzu added.

“I'm not stalking him, I'm trying to figure him out,” Hidan answered as he removed his Akatsuki cloak, placed it on a chair and threw himself in his bed.

“How is that different?”

“It is!” Hidan protested. “Stalking him is following him everywhere and seeing what he does while trying to figure him out is… umm… well, it's different!”

Kakuzu chuckled. “Whatever you say.”

--

Hidan exited his room quietly. It was morning, seven-thirty to be more exact. It was the time he always had breakfast when he was in the base, so Hidan knew he could investigate a bit more about his new obsession.

Just as predicted, he was there. As always his black hair was tied and he had that poker face.

“Morning Itachi!!” Hidan greeted loudly.

As always, Itachi Uchiha ignored him and kept drinking his coffee. Hidan didn't take it personally, Itachi almost never talked. In fact, he couldn't remember the last time he had directed words especially to him. He was that kind of guy.

Hidan proceeded to serving himself some coffee and sat right in front of Itachi. The Uchiha never looked at him, even if Hidan's eyes were always locked on his nonchalant face.

“Why are you here?” Itachi asked suddenly, which took Hidan for surprise.

“Excuse me?”

“Don't you think I notice that you are always around me?”

Busted.

Hidan smiled. “Oh, so you have noticed me?”

“It's hard not to,” Itachi replied. “So, why?”

“I don't know…” Hidan looked into his dark eyes and for the first time, the Uchiha looked back. “I guess I just find you intriguing.”

Itachi's face didn't change.

“Like how your face never changes,” Hidan continued. “I want to know what you're hiding behind your stoic face. I'm sure there must be a reason to never show any emotion.”

“Really?” Itachi asked. “Do you have a hypothesis?”

“Yeah,” Hidan answered with a cocky smile. “But I'm pretty sure you are not interested in it.”

“You are wrong.”

“You really want to know?”

“Yes.”

Hidan smiled. That probably meant that his hypothesis was true and Itachi was worried. “Well, I think you regret killing your clan. Wait, I'm not sure if it regret, I think you wished there was something else you could do about it but even if it was your only option, you still feel guilty so that's why you let you younger brother live, so he could end your misery and take revenge as well.”

For the first time Hidan saw something he had wanted to see in Itachi's face but was completely sure that it would only happen in his dreams, Itachi's face showed emotion, it showed anguish.

“I guess I hit the spot, huh?”

“H-how did you know?” Itachi stuttered.

“I've been watching you for a long time. You might not show any emotion in your face, but the rest of your body is an open book.”

Itachi stood up and left quickly.

“This is exactly what I mean.”

--

“I think my stalking days are over,” Hidan announced when he returned to his room.

Kakuzu, who still had piles of papers around his desk, turned to look at him sitting on his bed. “So, you admit it.”

“I'm serious Kakuzu; I screwed up just a moment ago.”

“Do explain.”

“He asked me why I was always following him, I answered and then I ended up telling him everything I thought about him,” Hidan resumed.

“If you liked him you should have just told him,” Kakuzu said getting back to his papers.

A bit of pink appeared on Hidan's cheek. “I don't like him!” he shrieked.

“Sure,” Kakuzu said. “You are just curious about him, that's why you stalk him.”

Hidan rolled his eyes. “Kuzu, you can be a real bitch sometimes.”

--

Hours have passed since the morning incident. Kakuzu was still doing his paperwork while Hidan finished his daily prayers. That's when someone knocked on their door.

Hidan remained in his position and Kakuzu knew better than to interrupt him. “Who is it?” he asked.

For his surprise, Itachi walked in. Hidan didn't notice this since he had his eyes closed. “Kakuzu-san, would you mind leaving me alone with him?”

Kakuzu looked at his face. “Sure, I have to take this to leader-sama anyways.” With that said, he left.

Hidan was still too concentrated to have noticed Itachi's presence so the Uchiha decided to sit in his bed until the prayers were finished.

Itachi stayed there for a few more minutes until Hidan finally opened his eyes. Shock instantly appeared in his face. “What are you doing here?” he asked.

“We need to talk.”

“If you're worried about me telling everyone what I told you earlier, don't worry, I won't,” Hidan said, putting on his Akatsuki cloak.

“Is it true?”

“…?”

“Am I really so easy to read?” Itachi asked, looking attentively with his dark eyes.

“It wasn't easy,” Hidan answered. “Usually, you look into a person's face in order to figure him out but with you, it seemed impossible. That was until I noticed the way you slightly trembled or change feet change position when something about your past is spoken.”

Itachi still look into his eyes. “Why were you doing it? Why did you watch me?”

“I don't know, Kakuzu says I like you but I'm not sure about that,” Hidan answered bluntly. He looked at Itachi's face, he seemed troubled.

Showing emotion around Hidan was probably not a good idea but he just didn't feel like avoiding it.

“Itachi,” Hidan called. Itachi looked at him as Hidan moved forward and kissed his lips.

“What are you doing?!”

“Without that poker face, your face is even more beautiful,” he slurred and kissed him again. “I think I really love you.”

Itachi didn't argue, he didn't want Hidan to stop. In that moment, all that went through his mind was Hidan's soft lips against his, his big hands grabbing his arms and the way they were slowly moving towards his bed. It didn't bother him at all.

Hidan wasted no time. He softly threw Itachi in his bed and got on top of him. “Since you are not struggling, I'm guessing this is alright.”

Itachi nodded and let himself be kissed by the younger man. Soon they were both caught in the prime of passion, feeling each other's bare skin, their heat, their excitement. It was something neither had ever experienced before.

“Are you ready for this?” Hidan whispered in his ear.

“Yes…”

Hidan decided then it was moment to complete their fervor, so he slowly entered his lover causing the Uchiha to scream loudly.

--

It was morning once again, seven-thirty to be exact. Hidan left his room and walked into the kitchen to find Itachi Uchiha sitting in the dining table with his usual cup of coffee. But, this morning things were different.

“Morning Itachi!” he greeted.

Before Itachi could say anything, Hidan's lips were on his.
