I - Peace
“All seemed to be calm and peaceful that day, before the war broke out and everyone was pit against each other. I had just finished a daily routine task for my Master, Tsunade, and everyone seemed to be calm. Sadly, things would not stay this way for long. As it trotted through the village, rather happy with the way things were working out, I stared up at the sun and was reminded of my orange dressed friend. “Naruto…” I thought to myself, a rather depressed sigh slipping from between my lips. It had only been a year's time since he had left and still, there would be another year to go before he returned. I didn't feel I could wait too long for contact, yet I had to, being forced to live like this had taken a toll. I also wanted the quickest chance I could get, to get out of the village and go after my other former teammate. The crush I had upon the male had dimmed, and I had slowly started to realize it was a crush, but that did not mean there were not still uneasy feelings between us. As I continued to round the village, smiles would start to form upon my lips as I started to forget the depressing feelings that plagued my memories. I watched the young Academy children as I stepped by, my old teacher, Umino Iruka, snapping at them for something or other. I also saw Sandaime's grandson, Konohamaru, snapping right back at him. It also made me laugh as they both waved to me, this temporarily taking my mind off of both Sasuke and Naruto for the time being. However, as the two moved back to there charades, I started to walk back toward the Hokage tower, where Tsunade awaited me. I seemed to be, at least at that time, perfectly content.
But, as I continued to approach the Tower, a thought started to buzz in my mind. Maybe Tsunade had got into contact with Naruto and Jiraiya? This thought instantly made me quickly rush myself toward the Tower, going even faster than I had hoped to go. As I approached the Tower, I was greeted by two smiling faces. Sadly, those two Jounin would not live when everything was over, and it hadn't reached my little mind until it was too late. As I barreled my way into the Tower, my Master seemed to look rather extra stressed than she usually was. As I took a step forward, and rose my hand to set it down on her shoulder, her glaring and stress filled eyes rose themselves to stare up at me. I had never seen such depression and anger in her eyes before, it had shocked me. Of course, I suppose that is why I took a step backward. “M…Master, is there anything” I had started, but I would not be able to stop as she replied, and my eyes widened with an unimaginable horror. “Jiraiya is dead…” Tsunade had spoken, sounding as sullen as her eyes had looked, almost shattering in my vision as tears starting to drop like rain.
“Why…but…what about Naruto!?” I seemed to almost yell, worry boiling up in my small frame as she let out a sigh and spoke. “He is what killed Jiraiya…well, the fox at least. He didn't seem to be able to control it, and his corpse was found among a Four Tailed Transformation Naruto” Tsunade had slowly started to finish, myself almost crying out. As I stood there, Tsunade finally replied with something that I had thought would make me a bit happier. “Naruto shall be returning to the village tomorrow…” She had said, which had made me happy until she had finished her statement. “And he shall await his punishment for this crime…” Tsunade stopped, as I gasped out and yelled at her. “B…But Master! You seriously cannot hold Naruto responsible for this! It is not his fault!” I tried to argue, but it was clear, by the look in her face, that Tsunade was not going to pardon it. As I exited the office, I only took one glaring look back at her, and whispered to myself, yet she seemed to pick up on it. “You're being no better than everyone else…he is always being discriminated against because of that damn Fox…” I had finished, as I stepped out, Tsunade finally breaking out in even more tears as she buried her head in her arms, I covering my own eyes with my hands as I wept fully. I had felt, at that time(even though it was untrue) that I was the only one in that short hallway…” ~ Haruno Sakura
