Blood
By Nine Tailed Vixen
Rain fell in sheets over Naruto’s body. Once again he was caught in the rain. Lightning flashed overhead and Naruto knew that he should get the hell out of there, but he didn’t move. The small clearing in the forest was almost ethereal in the rain. The music of the water hitting the leaves calmed Naruto’s soul that was normally hidden from the world.
Naruto didn’t notice the smoldering black eyes that tried to see past his mask. He did not feel the heated leer of aqua eyes that watched his every movement. He did not see the questioning white eyes as they analyzed his every movement. No, in this forest in the clearing there was just him, and his unbreakable spirit and his heart that was so innocent and pure despite the lack of everything growing up.
Raising his arms to the heavens Naruto began to spin, much like the world was around him. He turned and turned as the lightning crashed and the raindrops sang, A shining smile found itself on his face as he began to sing with the rain. No real words, no real tune, he just sang the song of his soul and danced to his heartbeat.
The watching eyes followed his every move, taken in by this strange boy. Singing something that only he could understand and dancing to a beat that only he could hear. This was the boy that had saved them from hell. A simple blond boy who had suffered much as they have, yet he was a child of the day, while they were corrupted by darkness. No hatred had ever stained this boy’s consciousness, and it never will.
Naruto collapsed on the ground, dizzy and laughing. His laugh was not gentle or pretty to hear. But it was a true laugh, and it existed only because the boy was happy. Not with how his life is, but how it was going to be.
Sasuke of the Uchiha bloodline, watched as his friend and teammate laughed his ugly laugh. Naruto was ugly, unlike himself. Naruto’s face was marred with scratches and he was now covered in mud. Yet beauty of the boy’s eyes betrayed the beauty of his soul. There was so much emotion that Naruto showed; yet so much that he hid. He was the key that could unlock, Sasuke’s heart, but Sasuke didn’t know if his heart was still there. He stepped out of the trees and walked over to where Naruto lay laughing in the mud.
Gaara of the Sand watched the fox boy as he practically rolled in the mud. His heart ached to be with another cursed one. Bound by the demons within him. No, Naruto was different then him, his hands had never been bathed in blood. Naruto was always so passionate about what ever he did, no matter how foolish. He would easily throw himself into a battle to protect a village that hated him. Why? Gaara need to know and he was going to find out. He carefully jumped from the tree that he way hiding in and landed silently beside the laughing bay.
Neji of the Huuga bloodline stepped out of the trees and made his way to this spitfire of a human being. He was strange. How could a few words spit from this boy’s mouth change his world around? He was always willing to spar even if there was no real grudge involved. How could Naruto strive so had to impress the very village that hated him?
Naruto opened his eyes to meet those of the three beings that he respected, admired. And the three pairs of eyes that watched him, protected him, and secretly worshipped him, looked back. As their eyes met his deep blue ones, all questions were answered. They could feel the beat that Naruto danced to and they could hear his soundless tune.
Naruto smiled at them and they froze. He raised his left hand to them and they saw the only scar on his body. His pledge, his promise, was on this hand where the kunai struck. Naruto smile was hypnotizing, so that they let him pull them into the mud with him without protest. Naruto pulled a kunai from his belt and before the other boys could stop him he re-cut his left hand and held it out to them. Silently they cut their own hands and joined their blood with his.
This boy that the village hated, this demon that was feared; he was their savior. He would take them by the hand and lead them back into the light. This rainy night the blood of an angel bound them.
The End.
