Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Boy Princess ❯ The Prince and the Prince ( Chapter 1 )
Fandom: Naruto
Pairing: NaruSasu
Rating: PG-13 for swearing, for the moment.
Genre: Romance/Action&Adventure/side-dish of humor
Disclaimer: We do not own Naruto or Sasuke, ‘coz if we did they’d prolly be screwing each other silly.
NOTES: Based off of a manga of the same name that I (Zeal) gave to my sister (Miranda) for her birthday. Eventually, we came with the idea of turning it into a Naruto-spin-off with the NaruSasu pairing.
MORE NOTES: Don’t blame us if you die laughing; we nearly died writing this ourselves.
EVEN MORE NOTES: Just so you know, the story is done in a style that is similar to a movie production. Any short sections are actually scenes from behind the stage.
"Hey! Has anyone seen that bowl of ramen I was saving?!" a voice shouted out as the hyper-active blond hurried across the set while adjusting his robes, ignoring the few people who rolled their eyes at his behavior.
All around him, the set was bustling with activity, as everyone was either rereading their lines, going over their makeup in the girls’ cases, or just chatting to the others as they moved around. And nobody seemed to actually pay attention to the blonde running around.
Arashi briefly looked up from where he was lounged whilst reading his script, smirking a little as Naruto spun around in circles trying to find his ‘missing ramen’. ‘Kids…’
Naruto nearly pouted, before something caught his eye. "YATTA!!" he shouted, and literally dived toward the bowl of ramen. Arashi paled.
"Naruto, look--" RIIIIIIIP! CRASH!!! "--out… oh shit…"
The blonde in question blinked a couple of times, trying to figure out just what the hell had happened. Finally, it dawned on him that he had (accidentally) jumped on a background set that coincidentally held a bowl of ramen on it. Thus, he had leapt through the set, and wound up flat on his face on the ground. "Man, how embarrassing…"
Suddenly, someone’s feet appeared in front of his face, and he blinked a little, a sudden feeling of apprehension coming over him. Slowly, ever so slowly, he raised his face up. And gulped when he came face-to-face with a pair of very pissed-off set of blue eyes. And had it been possible, the glare on her face wouldn’t have left an ATOM of the blond.
"Uh… hehehehe… um… hi uh… Zeal-sama… heheh…"
Zeal’s eyes narrowed dangerously, as she brought up her hands and cracked her knuckles. "Uzumaki…" she fairly snarled out.
"Uhhh… gottarunbyebye!"
Naruto instantly rushed off. "GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE, UZUMAKI!!" Zeal bellowed out, rushing after the blonde -- with a frying pan.
The other actors and crewmembers instantly dived aside to avoid both the blonde and the pissed-off blunette.
Meanwhile, a younger, purple-haired girl watched with a bright smile as the duo shot past her, hands behind her back. Then she turned back and watched as they came by again… and again… and again… "Like watching tennis!" she chirped, just before she stuck out her leg.
"WAH!!" Naruto shouted as he tripped over the girl’s leg and was instantly sent tumbling down the aisle -- and straight into Sasuke (who had been walking by sipping a cup of coffee (decaffeinated)). The cup of coffee was sent flying through the air as the two boys tumbled around.
Before it could land on the ground though, Shino caught the cup in one hand, and all the coffee fell right into it once again. Barely giving the two a glance, Shino then proceeded to sip the cup himself (after pulling down the collar of his jacket).
"GAH!!" Meanwhile Zeal grabbed onto her sister’s shirt as she tripped over said sister’s foot, as she too tripped. And of course, Zeal’s motto in such case was ‘If I’m going down, I’m taking you with me!!’
"WAH!! ONEESAN!!" Miranda whined out.
"Urusai!!" Zeal roared as she pulled herself up, shoving Miranda off of her and back on the ground.
"OWCHIE!!"
"…owchie?"
"Oh, sorry, I mean ‘ITAAAIII!!’"
"Better." Miranda sweatdropped at her bigger sister’s deadpanned tone. Zeal looked over, looking for the blonde she had been planning to bash into a bloody pulp. Until she saw where he had wound up and ended up having to suppress a serious laughing fit. Miranda blinked and looked over…
And she had a little less luck with keeping her laughter down.
Naruto was lying upside down against the wall, eyes spinning out of control and Sasuke sprawled over the blonde, hair completely mussed up because of the tumble.
Shaking her head, Zeal stalked over and mumbled: "You’re going too fast there, boys…" before she yanked both boys back on their feet. "Sasuke, where’s that brother of yours?"
"Ugh… in the back, painting his nails," the brunette mumbled.
"I HEARD THAT!!"
Zeal sweatdropped. "Oy…" Looking at her watch, the blunette looked contemplative… for about three seconds. "K’SO!!!" Whirling around, she shouted: "EVERYONE GET TO YOUR PLACES!!! WE’RE STARTING IN TWO MINUTES!!!"
Yowls of surprise resounded through the room and everyone instantly scattered, rushing off to fix up the last few things they needed.
Miranda blinked, before she shouted: "Lee! No spandex, remember?!"
"Awwww!!"
"GET MOVING!!!" Zeal screamed, making the bowl-cut haired teen rush off quickly. Shaking her head, the blunette made to move away, when there was a tug on her sleeve. Turning to Sasuke, she said: "Naniyo?"
"How’m I supposed to act if I don’t know my lines?"
Miranda gawked at Sasuke in shock, while Zeal’s face took on a truly evil appearance. "Trust me, kid; if I give you one line for the whole play, you’ll know exactly how to act."
Sasuke blinked, then gulped a little. "…should I be scared?" he asked meekly.
"…VERY," Miranda said.
Chapter 1: The Prince and the Prince
"Once upon a time, there was a princess whom was betrothed to the prince of a neighboring kingdom. However, two days before the wedding was to take place, she eloped from the kingdom with a lowly, stable keeper, leaving behind a very distraught family.
The day began normally, but it would end in a battle of youthfulness."
--
Zeal growled and promptly socked Gai to his head. "Stick to the script," she growled out.
"Gomen…"
--
As the sun began to rise above the horizon, the second-eldest prince strode through the castle halls with his usual youthful vigor that he was known for. It was no secret that Lee could be very hyper throughout the day, which was good when he training, but any time else, it just tended to piss everyone off. Everyone else of the royal family was still getting ready for the day, but Lee was the only exception.
Passing by his sister’s chambers, he seemed to consider the options, before knocking loudly on the door. His sister was known to be a bit lazy when she wanted to be, after all. "Sister! ‘Tis time to wake up and answer the call of youthfulness! It is a beautiful day out there to release one’s youthful spirit!!"
--
Miranda groaned and dropped her head in her hands. "Again with the youthfulness?"
Zeal, on the other hand, looked ready to strangle Rock Lee at that point.
--
Lee waited for a moment longer, and blinked. Normally, if he decided to wake up his sister as such, she’d be screaming and making the biggest fuss imaginable (especially when she was having her period), but now there wasn’t a peep.
"Sister?" he called out, placing his ear against the door. There was not a sound on the other side. Frowning a little, he reached for the doorknob and slowly opened the door. It creaked in protest as it did just that. But before Lee entered the room, he stuck in a tiny white flag and waved it around before he poked his head into the room, looking around a bit curiously.
The room was empty.
"…mysterious… Kin usually isn’t awake at this hour…" he mouthed softly, before stepping fully in the room. Instantly, he turned on his heel, as if expecting his sister to be standing behind the door and knock his head in with a vase.
Nothing.
Looking around once more, he realized that the bed was made. Upon touching it, he also concluded that the bed was cold; it hadn’t been slept in.
"…Father is not going to like this…"
"GONE?!!?" echoed the shout through the room.
Sasuke snorted softly, as their father ranted on and on. He knew as well as the rest of his family that this was not good, but all that yapping was not going to change anything about the current situation. Not that he was alone in this; Itachi wasn’t looking all that excited either. Lee was ranting along with their father, and Sai…
Sai didn’t even look up from drawing in that tiny little book he always carried with him.
//What timing…// Sasuke thought to himself. //Why does she have to go and get herself lost just two days before that blasted marriage thing… Great, she’s gonna miss her own wedding like this.//
"Father," Itachi spoke at last. "The wedding is but two days away. We cannot just cancel it with the excuse that the bride ran away." Sasuke wanted to snort again.
//Can’t we just try?// he wondered.
The king clenched his fists tightly, knowing as well as anyone that this was a problem. Kin was his only daughter, and she had just run off to god-knows-where. He could of course send out a search party, but until Kin was found, what could they possibly do?
Finally, the king sighed heavily. There was only one thing they could do until Kin was found.
"Here is my plan…" he spoke. "For now we will seek a young prince who could possibly be passed off as a princess." All of the boys instantly choked on air, and even Sai’s head snapped up at that. "With he just as she, the wedding will go on as planned."
For a long moment, silence reigned supreme, before Itachi’s gaze slowly slid over to his youngest brother. Sai, too, soon followed his older brother’s example, and even Lee did just that.
Sasuke stammered for a long moment, before he choked out: "Y-you’re joking… n-no way!! B-brothers…"
The three princes looked at each other for a moment, before they sighed. "Sasuke, be reasonable--"
"I am reasonable!"
"Let me finish!" Itachi grumbled. "Out of all of us, you’re the only one who could possibly pull this off. Could you actually picture any of us doing such a thing?"
Sasuke paused at that thought for a moment. When put like that, it made (a little) sense. Itachi’s low nasal voice would be a clear giveaway that he was… well… a he. Sai couldn’t pull something like that off for the life of him, as he’d be much to absorbed in actually drawing than pretending to be a female. And Lee… TOTALLY out of the question!
"Well… yeah… but-but still! They’ll catch on in no time, I mean--"
"Brother, with your youth and beauty, you would not be discovered for at least another 3 or 4 years!" Lee said, trying to calm his brother a least slightly.
"That’s not helping!!" Sasuke nearly shouted.
"Sasuke, that’s enough." The youngest prince yelped when Itachi shoved two fingers against his forehead. "Listen, it’s only until we find Kin. And then you can come back home, alright?"
The smaller boy growled at his brother, before he found himself dragged off, glaring daggers at his father who still looked like he hardly cared.
--
As Lee walked off the set, he was instantly met by a fist to the face that sent him smashing right into the wall.
Zeal smirked. "That felt good…"
--
"Haku… how the hell did I get roped into doing this!?" Sasuke asked tiredly as the boy in question worked on getting him in that damned dress.
The dress was a dark blue color, with silver trimmings near the sleeves, which ended in rings that went around his middlefingers. The bottom was very simple; no frills or anything, for which Sasuke was very grateful. The front of the dress had a slight V-cut that showed just enough. Had there been anything there to show…
Haku had his ways of working that out, though, and, despite the distaste for his current situation, Sasuke had to say he (Haku) did a good job. Haku hummed a little, walking around Sasuke a few times, before he remembered something and hurried off. Sasuke watched as Haku reached into his closet and tossed out several things that landed on the bed neatly. Sasuke had always been amazed by how Haku managed to pull that off.
Finally, Haku emerged with a beautiful silver sash a small smile on his face. Sasuke almost shivered at that, realizing this couldn’t be good. Standing behind him, Haku slung the sash around Sasuke’s waist, telling him absently to raise his arms a little.
"Okay, hold your breath," Haku said after a moment. Sasuke frowned, before he took a deep breath -- and nearly yelped as Haku yanked on the sash, instantly cutting off his air supply, before he tied it with a bow behind the teen’s back.
"Uck!"
"Okay, breathe out slowly, or you’ll hurt yourself."
"Dammit, Haku…"
Haku ignored the curse and picked up the wig they would be needing. Unlike her brothers, Kin was known for her long mass of hair. Of course, they couldn’t just grow that much hair in a fortnight, so they’d have to use the next best thing.
"How am I supposed to breathe like this?!" Sasuke wheezed.
"Very carefully," Haku admonished as he made the brunette sit down (carefully). "Now let’s see…" As Haku hummed in thought while combing out the long tresses, Sasuke tried to focus on breathing. He was not going to last long like this, he knew that much.
At the sound of Haku exclaiming in delight, Sasuke looked up at the mirror to see what he was going to do. Haku picked up a section of hair near his temple and separated it into three sections, beginning to braid it carefully. Once he had a decent half-braid, he held it out to Sasuke with the order of "Hold this." Sasuke did, albeit a bit reluctantly, as Haku repeated the process with the other side.
Finally, Haku took back the other braid, and brought both together at the back, and began to braid the remainder of both braids into one. "There we go. Now one last thing before we’re done."
Sasuke glared and mumbled under his breath: "I hate you…"
"Yes, yes. Love you, too, Your Majesty."
"Omataseshimashita!" Haku called out with a smile on his face as he stepped into the room, one hand extended so that it was hidden just behind the door. The three princes in the room looked up as the boy stepped into the room.
"So? How’d it go?" Itachi asked simply in his usual ‘I don’t give a damn’-tone of voice.
Haku allowed a quiet giggle. "Saa…" he started, before stepping further into the room, pulling his special load along with him.
The reactions were instant. Sai looked, for once in his life, like a fish out of the water, trying to say something but not knowing just what he could say. Itachi’s eyes widened comically as he looked at his little brother in shock, before he brought up one hand to his mouth and to try and keep his laughter in. Lee’s jaw almost hit the ground, before he recovered and grinned, giving his youngest brother a thumb’s-up. "Yosh! You look excellent, bro--oh, sorry. I mean, sister!"
Sasuke glared, trying not to blush at that, even if the rouge on his face already gave him a light one. "Hurt you…" he growled out under his breath.
Haku smiled a little and said: "Now, now, that’s no way to behave, M’lady." Sasuke resisted the urge to smash his fist into Haku’s face. "Now, one last thing." Moving to stand behind Sasuke, Haku wrapped a black choker around Sasuke’s throat, hiding his Adam’s apple behind the black fabric. "And we’re done."
Itachi had to admit, with the wig and dress, Sasuke was a spitting image of Kin. Not to mention the makeup that Haku had put on the boy’s face. It wasn’t much, really, just a bit of rouge and a bit of powder to make it seem like he wasn’t so pale.
Luckily for Sasuke, Haku had deemed high-heels to be unnecessary, as it would’ve proven to be extremely difficult to walk on. Especially since Sasuke seemed to be having a few problems when it came to breathing due to the sash around his waist. Also, Haku had added a veil that hung over most of his (Sasuke’s) hair, which was of an identical color as the dress.
All in all, it was almost as if Kin had never left and it was Sasuke who was missing at the moment.
"Not bad, Haku. You surely outdid yourself this time," Itachi managed to get out without bursting out in laughter, while Sai seemed to snap out of it and began to furiously draw in his booklet again. Sasuke had the idea he was NEVER going to live this down.
"The prince has arrived!" called out one of the servants, and Sasuke tensed. Giving a small sigh, he tried to calm himself down, smoothing out the long tresses of hair that had decided to bug him at that point, before he felt as least slightly in control of himself. Once he was sure he could actually do this, he looked up to face the prince and his escort.
He wasn’t sure what he’d been expecting of the prince, but surely not the person standing in front of him. The man had to be around the same age as Sasuke, if not a year or two older, with a spiked mess of blonde hair and the most stunning blue eyes he had ever seen. The armor he wore was pretty simple, nothing he hadn’t seen before, with the exception of the hints of orange fabric he could see beneath it. He also had a black ribbon tied around his forehead, though he couldn’t tell exactly how long it was from his current position.
He was… different. Not to mention about 4 inches taller.
As the prince seemed to catch sight of him (or her, whatever), a big grin appeared on his face, slightly startling Sasuke. He hadn’t expected any prince to be so open about his emotions.
"Ohayo," he said, still with a big grin on his face. Sasuke gulped a little, praying that this guy was at least stupid enough to not notice he wasn’t a girl right off the bat. "I’ve come to escort you, princess," he said with a slight bow.
--
Zeal blinked. "…"
Miranda mumbled softly: "That wasn’t in the script… was it?"
--
Sasuke blinked a little, feeling a bit of heat rise to his cheeks. Why, he had NO idea.
However, he nearly choked when the prince took his hand and kissed it. "I am honored to have such a beautiful lass as my wife." Now Sasuke really had to fight to suppress a blush. There was no way he could possibly survive this with his dignity intact.
"And so, Prince Sasuke took the place of his eloped sister, Princess Kin, to wed Prince Naruto in her stead. And as the time for their departure for Naruto’s kingdom arrived, it was time for the remaining Princes to say their goodbyes to their ‘sister’."
Of the princes, Lee was the first to say his goodbyes. "Fare thee well, sister! I wish you a safe journey!"
Sasuke clenched his fists against the saddle while trying not to snap at his brother. This was certainly NOT the time for that. Especially not when he was trying to stay balanced on the horse with both legs on one side of the steed. He couldn’t understand how women could ride like that. Naruto was sitting behind him on the horse, which helped him keep his balance, at least. The road was too rough for carriages, and thus, this was the only solution available.
Sai gave a small smile and waved to him. "Well, safe journey, sister," he said in that calm voice of his he was so renowned for.
--
Zeal glared darkly and tried not to growl. "Itachi’d better say his lines…"
"He’d better say something," Miranda quipped.
--
Itachi was silent for a moment, before he said: "Take care, little sister."
//I am SO gonna get you guys for this…// Sasuke promised with one look alone. Of course, he didn’t say this aloud. What he did say was: "Farewell brothers. Until next we meet again," somehow managing not to sound too much like a boy.
Naruto waved the three Princes farewell, too, before he gently spurred his horse on, followed shortly by his guards.
And all Sasuke could think was: //I’ll kill them all next time I see them…//
--
As Sai, Itachi and Lee stepped off of the stage, two out of three burst out laughing, which, strangely enough, were Sai and Itachi. Lee settled for a big grin.
--
The journey toward Prince Naruto’s kingdom was a long one, and Sasuke couldn’t have been more glad to have Naruto behind him to keep him up. Sitting the way he was started to become a little tiring.
As they rode, Sasuke tried to discreetly look to the side to look at the Prince’s guards. He couldn’t see all of them from his current position, but the ones he did see didn’t look all that tough.
One of them was a man with a mass of white hair and red lines that started under his eyes and ran down to his chin. The other had black hair that spiked backward slightly and a small beard running under his chin and jawline.
All in all, not what you’d expect from a batch of ‘fearless warriors’.
Behind the guards, were a few of his own guards, as well as Haku, whom was to be his ‘nanny’. With his appearance, it wasn’t that hard to pose as a woman. He couldn’t understand why they hadn’t asked Haku to do this.
--
Zeal smirked. "Where’s the fun in that?"
Miranda grinned brightly.
--
Suddenly, the rocking of the horse stopped dead. Sasuke instantly looked up to Naruto, and was about to open his mouth and question him about why they had stopped, when he saw the gleam in the Prince’s eyes. "Well, well… looks like we ran across a party here…"
Sasuke blinked, slowly turning ahead again toward where Naruto was looking.
Standing there up ahead of them, were at least a dozen bandits, enough to outnumber them easily.
"Sure enough," one of the bandits said cheekily, "the wedding parade of the Princess is loaded."
"We’ll guarantee your life if you just give us the goods!" another one shouted, making Sasuke shudder.
//And now this?! Great… what a disgrace for our kingdom! Who do they think I’m doing this insanity for, anyway?!// Sasuke ranted whilst trying not to snarl, before he realized that Naruto was dismounting the horse. Turning to him in surprise, he was met with the Prince’s broad grin.
"Sorry, but I’ll have to ask you to step back for a moment," he said, helping the ‘Princess’ down from the horse as well. "I’ll join you shortly."
Sasuke blinked, and then he noticed that the Prince’s guards had all dismounted as well. //Who-boy…// he thought, just as Haku approached and began to pull him away from the Prince. //This guy… he’s…//
Giving Sasuke one last grin, Naruto finally turned to the bandit, and the grin morphed into a violent smirk. "You just picked the wrong guy to mess with…"
The brunette could only stare in surprise as the bandits fell like flies all around as the Prince and his guards jumped into battle. They might not look like actual guards, but to see them in action like that was another matter altogether.
"Your highness! What are you staring at?! Come on, please!" Haku called out, still attempting to pull Sasuke away.
Sasuke whirled on Haku to snap at him, but silenced at what he saw behind the other boy. Blindly, Sasuke reached out and grabbed the first thing he could get his hands on; which was a thick, sturdy tree branch. Before Haku could question him, Sasuke spun on his heel and slammed the piece of wood straight against the bandit’s face, whom had attempted to sneak up on them from behind.
Haku looked horrified at what had almost happened, while Sasuke fought not to swear. Before he could give it much more thought, a cheeky voice quipped: "I didn’t know you were skilled in swordsmanship, Princess."
Sasuke tensed and turned to Naruto, who held one of the bandits by his neck with a single arm, before he knocked him upside the head with the hilt of his sword. And immediately, Sasuke realized he had just goofed. One look at Haku confirmed it.
Thinking quickly, Sasuke finally said: "Well, growing up with four brothers tends to have that effect on people. It appears my brothers have rubbed off on me." //Hopefully not Lee, though…// he added in his thoughts.
Naruto hummed in agreement, before he frowned a little. "Nothing of Prince Lee, I hope?"
Sasuke’s eyes nearly bugged out of their sockets. //Is that guy a mindreader?!//
Before Sasuke could pop the question, Naruto grinned and quipped: "Nah, not really."
To say that Sasuke nearly dropped his jaw was an understatement, even as Haku giggled a little behind a hand.
"No offence, but you’re pretty easy to read, princess," Naruto quipped simply.
At that, Sasuke had to struggle not to growl, but before he could open his mouth, he found himself picked up and set back on the horse. Naruto grinned and said: "Now let’s go, shall we? It’s getting late, and we don’t want to be here when it’s dark," as he climbed back behind Sasuke on the saddle. "Let’s go!" he shouted, and the group was back on the road.
Sasuke tried not to let his discomfort show at that point. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he would have never believed that this prince was all that dangerous. Now, however, he was beginning to have his doubts. The guy had almost brutally killed the thieves alongside his guards without even wincing at the amount of blood that had flown. Had Sasuke been in that situation, he would have at least cringed.
Who was this guy that he could kill with such little trouble?
He gulped. //This… this is a very dangerous situation…//
TO BE CONTINUED
Zeal nodded and shouted: "Cut! That’s all for today everyone!! So get going!"
Miranda cheered as she held the tape close to her chest, a few hearts circling around her.
As Zeal shouted out, Naruto grinned and jumped off of the horse. Sasuke grumbled and attempted to do the same… only to yowl as he fell on top of the blonde. "Gah! Teme! Get off!!"
"Urusai!! The damn dress got stuck alright!?" Sasuke nearly screamed.
Zeal rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah… sure…" she mumbled, yanking the brunette to his feet as Miranda continued to skip around happily (still holding the tape). "Just get moving. Make sure you’re on time tomorrow."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever…" Sasuke grumbled and stalked away, stepping on Naruto’s hand as he went. The blonde yowled and waved his hand in pain, glad they had agreed on ‘no high-heels’.
"Sasuke!! You gotta--" Zeal started, then winced when Sasuke tripped over the front of the dress, smashing face-first into the floor. "…lift the front of the dress, dammit… If you ripped that dress you’re paying for a new one!!"
"Uruse…" Sasuke grumbled angrily as he pushed himself up and hurried off to his dressing room, this time lifting the front of the dress amidst his grumbling.
As he went, he passed Itachi. "Having problems?" the taller boy quipped.
That was answered with a fist to the face.
Zeal shook her head, before she ripped the tape from Miranda’s hands. Miranda yipped, then whined and reached out with both hands for the tape, even as Zeal held one hand to her head and kept the tape out of reach. "I wanna taaaapeeee…" she whined out, trying to get to said tape.
Zeal rolled her eyes. "You can have it back after it airs in an hour."
"WAI!!" Miranda cheered.
