Chapter 28
A cold wind gusted in from the north, lifting the brightly colored leaves that had already fallen from the trees to swirl around the somber figure walking towards the hospital. It never got cold enough to snow in this part of fire county, but the chill in the morning let the residents know that snow was not far off for the more northern parts.
The trees instinctively knew this and had already started the massive color change that transformed the hill sides from green to russet orange, with dots of yellow and the fierce scarlet of the maples. Not giving the trees’ wondrous display of colors for fall a second glance, Sasuke continued into the hospital. His face was down turned and his hands buried in his pockets for warmth, shrugging off the cold as he made it inside the plain reception room. He headed for the stairs tucked unobtrusively in the corner like he did everyday before reporting for his daily training session with Kakashi.
It had been three months. Naruto still had not woken up from his catatonic state and he was still just a tad slower than before his brother put the sword through his chest. Tsunade had said he would take a while to get back to his usual level and truthfully, Sasuke was glad that he was not quite there yet. Training kept his mind off Naruto. Or at least Kakashi insisted that it would and the man was well versed with handling grief. Besides if he was back to his old level then he would be sent out on missions and he didn’t think he could handle not seeing Naruto for long periods of time. Not that the blond had changed much in the three months of being comatose. Sure, he had filled out and the scars had faded, but Sasuke still didn’t want to think about not being able to see him.
It had become a routine for the last Uchiha to stop by every day before training to see Naruto. Just like it was Kakashi’s routine to stop by the memorial to see his friends’ names etched in the memorial stone every morning. Their respective habits made them both chronically late for appointments, but most people understood and blamed Kakashi for influencing him like that.
The silver haired jounin had been keeping an eye on him since he was released by the hospital and moved back into the old Uchiha quarters. He’d kept stopping by now and again because he knew Sasuke was not fond of returning to live there although, having killed Itachi, the place did seem less haunted than before.
No longer did he see his mother and father when he walked through the empty streets, or his aunts and uncles as his brother killed them. Slitting Itachi’s throat had granted the spirits peace and it had given him a measure of closure. Before, it was like he did not belong there not having avenged their deaths, but now that their killer was dead it was almost welcoming to see the fading Uchiha fans decorating the old walls.
Still the only reason he had returned to live in the Uchiha quarters was that all his stuff had been put into storage and his apartment rented out to someone else when he had run off after Naruto.
This was the second time that had happened and it was getting annoying. The first place he was never really happy at and didn’t mind having to move after returning from Orochimaru’s, but he had liked his last apartment.
Pushing through the door to the second floor then turning right and going down the hall of the long term ward, he nodded to the nurse at the nurses’ station as he passed. She smiled in return and he continued down the familiar hallway. The same harsh smell of sterilizing cleaner and the drown of beeping came from each of the rooms he passed.
Naruto had been moved a week after Kyuubi’s proposal. No longer confined to the dreary security sub level, the blond was now housed in the long term care ward on the second floor. Each room of the ward held a shinobi that might never wake up from whatever it was that sent them here. The room’s occupant’s names were engraved on a plaque in a holder next the door, to show that they would be here for a while.
The walls of the ward were painted a drab color that gave the whole place a dismal feel. Not that the people in the rooms would notice, but the color scheme didn’t help the visitors’ moods at all. It just seemed to compound the fact that a loved one might never get out of the bed again. To Sasuke, it made it seem even more depressing, seeing Naruto just sleeping on the bed day after day, not knowing when he would wake up, with the walls decked out like he had already died.
The damn fox had said that Naruto could wake up on his own, Sasuke had gone over that in his head a thousand times already, but Kyuubi had not given a time frame as to when it would happen. So for the first three weeks he had been glued to Naruto’s bed side waiting diligently beside Iruka.
But the blond never moved, never woke up and as the days wore on, Tsunade had lifted the restrictions on him and ordered him to train again.
Kakashi was ordered to help him and begrudgingly Sasuke complied. Slowly but surely, he started spending less time in the hospital room beside Naruto as the weeks passed and turned into months.
It was not that he was giving up, or forgetting. No, he was remembering everything about Naruto and could not stand to see him just laying there, lifeless almost.
Stopping outside a door with the plaque engraved Uzumaki, the raven haired teen set his hand on the door knob and sighed. It was getting harder to come here everyday, just to see that nothing had changed. Naruto was still a vegetable and he would still be sleeping, limp on the bed. Not even aware that he had been here and held his hand, or brushed the hair out of his sleeping face and told him about getting back to his prior level or that Neji had joined ANBU without his uncle’s consent.
Dropping his hand, Sasuke turned around and took a step away.
Neji had dragged him away from Naruto’s side three days after Kyuubi had offered his assistance and price. He recalled how he could hardly sit through the meal, so intent to return to sit next to his dobe in case anything happened, but it never did. The Hokage had told him that these things took time, that Naruto could wake up tomorrow or five years from now. That he was not stuck in a bed and should try to get on with his life. Not to forget about the blond, but not to founder beside him either.
That was when she had ordered him to train with Kakashi. He had grumbled for the duration of the match and had rushed over right afterward. And he had continued to visit before and after every training match. Regardless if he was soaking wet from the rain or covered in mud, stinking to high heaven or not, he always came to the hospital to see if there had been any change.
Then about a month ago he started to come only just before meeting up with Kakashi and now the length of his visits were getting shorter. He always meant to stay for longer, but as soon as he entered the room with Naruto a dark mood seemed to overcome him. Everything would start to weigh on his shoulders until he could not take the silence that would start to smother him.
Sasuke closed his eyes and started to walk away from the room that held Naruto.
He could not face him again. He could not see the limp form laying lifeless again. He just couldn’t.
It tore him up inside too much, because he could fix it. He had a way, with a price. He saw the way Iruka stopped by several times everyday and that Sakura stopped by a few times during her rounds, but he could not do it anymore. Not while knowing that he could wake him up and keep him that way, all he had to do was mate with the demon and get knocked up.
His feet kept moving, taking him past the nurses’ station then through the door that led to the stairwell.
"Good morning Sasuke."
Glancing down at the pony-tailed teacher who was coming up the stairs, Sasuke grunted in greeting and continued on his way out, passing Iruka without looking at him again.
Iruka did not blame him for saying no, even if Naruto was sacrificed for it.
He blamed himself though, no matter how much just thinking about saying yes made him cringe.
He had a way to wake Naruto up, but he couldn’t do it. Wouldn’t do it.
Sasuke was out of the hospital and walking to the training ground, hands shoved back in to his pockets, when a scream echoed out of one of the second story windows. Stopping and turning around, mostly out of mild curiosity, he heard the scream again and focused on where it was coming from. Second story, right side, the long term ward.
Maybe a family member just found out that their loved one died in their coma, but the only other person he had seen in the ward was Iruka.
The sharp sound echoed again through the chilled air as Sasuke’s eyes went wide and it felt like someone had dropped a boulder into his stomach as he figured out which room it came from. He raced back through the hospital’s front door and bolting up the stairs to the room he had just left.
Voices reached him halfway down the normally quiet hall as nurses crowded around the open doorway to Naruto’s room. They were talking amongst themselves, all eager to find out what had shattered the ward’s solemn silence. Sasuke had to shoulder his way through the gathering medical workers so he could see in through the open door, to see if he was right.
He stopped dead in the doorway as Naruto flinched and shied away from the white clad medic nin that was trying to calm him down. Iruka was holding the thrashing and panicking blond, trying to get him to stop struggling long enough for the medic nin to do what he had to do.
He was wrong, so very wrong and very glad that he was. Sasuke was choking on his heart that had lodged itself in his throat and his body felt numb, like it refused to believe this was happening, that it was all some silly daydream that would go away as soon as someone waved their hand in front of his face.
His idiot was still screaming, crying, panicking, but he was awake. With his brilliant blue eyes open and noises coming out of his mouth. It was too much for Sasuke ’s brain to process because he was sure his heart had stopped working from how still it felt.
A piecing scream tore through the room as the medic nin set a glowing green hand on Naruto and the blond bolted out of Iruka’s grasp, taking a few unsteady steps before falling to the floor next to the bed. The medic nin rushed over to the fallen blond before Iruka could get off the floor and Naruto screamed again as the man drew near. He scrambled backwards with tears pouring out of his eyes, unaware of the crowd he had drawn.
Screaming sharply when he had backed himself against the wall. Naurto broken down in to sobs, begging for the medic to not hurt him. That he did every thing he was told to do and to not to cut him again.
The words seemed to reactivate Sasuke’s brain and he leapt into the fray. He threw the medic out of the room then closed the door once he was out. Turning back to the blond who was still making little whimpering noises, Sasuke saw that Iruka was trying to coax Naruto to let him hold him and the blond was opposed to it. He was shaking his head and whimpering whenever Iruka reached out to him, trying to shy farther away but having nowhere to go.
Naruto had wedged himself in between the supply cabinets that made up one side of a desk leg and the chair next to the bed. The scared blond had his arms wrapped around his knees and was rocking as much as the tight space would permit, so terrified that his breathing suggested he was hyperventilating.
Walking up behind the teacher, he set his hand on Iruka’s shoulder. The man looked back at him for a second, then stepped aside.
The raven haired teen knelt down then reached in and grabbed Naruto’s chin, not stopping even when the blond flinched violently and tried to pull his head away. Sasuke pulled the chin up, forcing Naruto to look at him.
"Who am I?"
The blonde’s face had beads of tears dripping down from his quivering chin and the blue eyes that were red and puffy from crying, focused on the teen kneeling in front of him.
"S-sasuke?"
Closing the gap between then, Sasuke wrapped his arms around Naruto and held him like he had wanted to for the last three months. The blond shuddered at the initial contact then lurched forward to grab Sasuke’s shirt, sobbing on his bastard’s shoulder as Sasuke ran his hand through his hair and murmured reassuring things. Sasuke continued coaxing him to take deeper breaths, repeating his words over and over, telling him that the doctor was not going to come back in.
The raven haired teen’s heart was soaring. Naruto was awake. His blond was back. Still afraid, still hurt, but awake and aware of what was going on around him.
Running his hand through the sun kissed locks again, Sasuke turned to the dejected looking Iruka who stood next to the bed watching them.
"He hates doctors."
Iruka nodded, then knelt beside his still shaking son.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t know."
Naruto looked up from the shoulder he had buried his face against and wiped his nose that had tears dripping off the tip with the back of his hand than he spoke with a quavering voice.
"It’s ok."
Shifting over, Naruto pushed away from Sasuke and moved tentatively into Iruka’s arms. He could feel the tension ooze out of his father figure as the arms held him tight and Iruka’s breath hitched like he might cry. Looking over to the Uchiha, Naruto saw the smirk that told him the bastard understood that Iruka needed him at the moment.
Closing his eyes and he rested his head against Iruka’s chest and listened to the heart beating, the rhythmic two step helping to dissolve the lump of dread and fear that was still eating his insides from the doctor.
"Not going back to sleep yet, are you?"
Shivering from the cold floor, Naruto opened his eyes and looked up at Iruka.
"Not yet, can I get some ramen?"
"Only after I look you over."
Whipping his head back, the startled blond looked up at Tsunade who was standing over both him and Iruka, smiling, but with tears in her eyes. He could not recall when she had entered the room and for a second it unnerved him. Clutching Iruka tightly for a moment and getting hugged back in return, he forced himself to get to his feet.
It was Tsunade, the gambling drunk that he and Jiraiya had had to push to take the job as Hokage. Still, she was a doctor. His hands were cold, and his toes were already cold from the floor and there seemed to be a flood of ice between them. Every nerve in his body was coming alive and bracing for some pain to be dealt. He started to shake as he sat on the bed and took a shuddering breath as he waited for her to start.
It was only Tsunade, the drunk gambler.
She was the Hokage, the strongest shinobi in the village, a position he wanted to one day fill.
Still, his face screwed up and he bit his lip.
She was also a doctor. She knew how to do all those horrible things that had plagued his dreams. All the pain, all the blood. Naruto stopped moving and swayed in his seat, the tides of panic and fear rising to a nearly overwhelming level in his head.
She could do that to him, put him through that again.
He wrapped his arms around himself as it seemed like all the warmth was sucked out of the room and he shuddered. It was irrational, he knew that. He had no reason to be frightened of her.
But he was.
All at once arms wrapped around him and held him. Not constricting, holding him down, but comforting him. Pale blond hair brushed against his cheek and he felt her gentle touch as Tsunade started to rub a circle on his back. The large breasts pressed against his chest like two soft pillows as his head was guided to the Hokage’s shoulder.
"It’s ok Naruto, I promise Sasuke can kill me if I hurt you."
Her voice was low and right against his ear. On impulse he turned his head to look and the Uchiha and was surprised to see him seething. Sasuke did not want anyone else to hold him and Naruto had no doubt that regardless if the Hokage gave her permission or not, if she hurt him, Sasuke would try to hurt her back.
It was comforting to have him there, Iruka as well. Although his father might insist that he stayed for some silly reason like his health. Still their presence alone got him through the exam, which thankfully, he did not have to remove any clothing for so his other irrational fears did not surface. She just ran her hands over him with faint green chakra covering them.
The next few hours blurred by as he was first dressed and fed then guided out of the hospital and into the Hokage’s office. After Tsunade had argued with people he did not know about him, about Konoha and his personal safety, amongst other things, it was decided that he would stay with Sasuke at the old Uchiha quarters until further notice. They had run into Shikamaru and Ino walking into the Hokage office and by the time they had made a single block after leaving it, he had seen every one of his friends.
Well, Hinata was hiding behind a telephone pole, but he still knew she was there.
Each time he was stopped, he was told how glad the person was that he was awake. Tenten had hugged him and Kiba slapped him on the back, but he couldn’t help but notice that they were suspicious of him. Like they didn’t think it was really him or that he would suddenly turn into Kyuubi and start to massacre them.
When the last group had left him outside the book store, he let out a long sigh of relief. He hadn’t liked having to answer questions about what had happened to him at the Sound. Although Konohamaru was too busy showing off the forehead protector he had just earned to ask any questions, it still frayed his nerves to be around so many people.
The chill wind was nipping at his face and the clothes that had been given to him did not block the cold very well. Every block they went through had someone stopping and looking at him, children whispered and adults either smiled or scowled. If they smiled, he smiled back, if they scowled, he still smiled back. At least they no longer ignored him, or ran screaming. That was a step, he thought.
Iruka and Kakashi led the way, Sasuke was walking next to him, close but not overly so. Occasionally they would brush shoulders and Sasuke would smile at him for a second and continue the walk in silence.
When they were deciding where he was going to stay since Tsunade was not going to keep him in the hospital while he detested it, he had said that he could take care of himself, but they wanted him to be with somebody in case anything happened.
Iruka was the one to suggest that he stayed with Sasuke. It was kind of surprising to Naruto that his father figure did not want him to live with him. At first he thought that Iruka was still mad about him stabbing him in the chest, until he saw him with Kakashi. Then it clicked that the couple might not want company and that it was obvious that they considered him and Sasuke a couple already.
Naruto shifted slightly, and saw the cloud that his breath made.
Was he and Sasuke a couple? There was feelings between them, that was a given, but were they really in a lasting relationship? He still felt so, so confused.
Waking up to find that three months had passed was a disorientating experience. He was glad that Sasuke had stayed with him and kept coming to see him. He could remember bits and pieces of him sitting in the chair next to the bed and talking to him. The low voice pulled him away from the horrible memories he had relived in his dreams.
Naruto shuddered in the cold air, the dreams had made what he had gone through feel fresh again. The pain and the humiliation at the snake’s hand, he still had so much he could not even bring himself to say to Sasuke about what had been done to him.
The raven haired teen was sure to be disgusted by a few things that had happened. Hell, he was disgusted with what had been done to him.
The blonde’s face flushed, although it was hidden by the rosy tint the cold air gave his cheeks. He glanced at the Uchiha walking next to him, Sasuke looked smug as they made it to the entrance of the old Uchiha quarters. The red gate was a miniature of the grand gate that protected Konoha. Inside the doors, the shops and houses that lined the main street were starting to fall into disrepair and the red and white fans were on every surface possible. Still, it was fascinating to finally see where Sasuke lived, where he had grown up.
Iruka with Kakashi by his side, was whispering things to the taller teacher that Naruto could not hear. Then he nodded to one of the old buildings and Naruto looked just like Kakashi did and saw a old kunai imbedded in to the outer wall of a building, with an unmistakable faded blood spatter around it.
Naruto looked at it for a second then over to Sasuke, who had seen Iruka’s gesture as well.
"It’s Ok now, I’ve killed Itachi and they have been avenged."
Sasuke was not looking at him though and his jaw was clenched.
After the short walk from the gate into the Uchiha quarters, they arrived at the old, large and very traditional house that was the last one on the main street. Kakashi and Iruka stopped at the modernized front door and Sasuke stepped forward to unlock it. The door’s newness suggesting that it was a very recent replacement and it was the only thing that looked like it had been made in the last 100 years.
Going in the house was almost like going back in time. The paper screen walls that slid open and the tatami mats that covered the floors set the theme for the interior. The couches in the living room did not seem to belong and neither did the television that sat in front of the couches. Other than those exceptions, everything else looked like it belonged in a museum.
For a moment, all Naruto wanted was to wander around and see more of the house, but the sound of Iruka clearing his throat gave him pause.
"Naruto, if you need anything, any time of the day, you know you can always come to me."
"I know."
Iruka had said this to him about 20 times already. He was glad to have his support and all but he was getting tired of being reminded of it.
Iruka wrapped his arms around him and hugged him tightly, speaking as he did.
"I’m so glad you woke up, I really missed you, and, and—"
Naruto heard Iruka’s voice choke up and just held his father back. The warm tears on his shoulder told him how much he was missed more than words could ever express.
Iruka looked up and kissed his forehead, then pulled away.
"If you need anything, anything at all. Don’t hesitate to ask."
His face was shining from the moisture on it.
"I will, Iruka. Don’t worry I’ll pester you so much you’ll wish you never said that."
Smiling broadly and getting Iruka to laugh, Naruto waited for Kakashi to put his arm around Iruka before letting the smile fade from his face.
He did not get it. Really, to him, he was just asleep. The passing of time had not bothered him, but his friends’ and father’s reaction to it bothered him more. Three months was a long time he agreed, but it did not seem like it was anything more than a good night’s rest to him.
For him, fighting the Akatsuki seemed like it had happened only yesterday and the emotions of that day still felt fresh. Ayami’s scream as he tried to protect her father and the weight of the collar Itachi had placed around his neck were still vivid in his head.
Kakashi led the still teary eyed Iruka towards the door and both men said their farewells and left.
Leaving him alone with Sasuke.
An awkward silence overtook the room and the blond fidgeted. He remembered how Itachi had tricked him, having figured that he wanted to die and making an illusion that seemed like it would kill him, then trapping him from behind.
Nothing he had seen today made him feel any different. Ok, that wasn’t true. He no longer wanted to die, not with Iruka still alive, but he also didn’t want the hateful looks from the people he could have killed when he let Kyuubi out. Or the patronizing or suspicious looks he had gotten from his friends and the stiff, hesitant hug from Sakura.
Running a hand over the remade seal on his stomach, the blond looked around at the antiques that filled the house.
"So this is where you live."
"Yeah."
Sasuke let out a sigh and walked to face him. Stopping inches away, he leaned forward to close the gap, hesitantly pressing his lips to Naruto’s and asking if it was alright to continue with a swipe of his tongue against the blonde’s chapped lips.
Naruto was stunned by the abrupt kiss but opened his mouth when asked by gently nipping teeth and enjoyed it as Sasuke ran his tongue against the roof of his mouth. He shivered as the raven haired teen pressed his chest against his own and let his pale hands roam over his back. The kiss got deeper until their teeth scraped together and he had to turn his head or smash his nose against Sasuke’s.
One of the Uchiha’s hands drifted up to run through his hair then stayed to hold his head steady at the base of his neck and the other hand locked around his waist, kneading the small of his back. Alarms went off in the blonde’s head and he frantically pushed out of Sasuke’s loving embrace. He was panting, eyes wide with fear, as Sasuke blushed and apologized.
That was right. Sasuke still wanted him, no matter how broken and used he was, how confused he was on the inside from all that had happened.
Sasuke loved him, but he didn’t even know who he was anymore. His face could not seem to remember how to smile and there was no way for him to keep on believing that he could one day be Hokage. Hell, he didn’t even know if he wanted to continue being a shinobi or if what he felt about Sasuke was even love. It was hard to differentiate between the swelling of his heart from love and the plummeting of his stomach in fear.
Sasuke had waited three months for him to wake up, for him to finish what he had started on the patio and in the tree. Sasuke wanted him physically and he wanted to give Sasuke that. And all he knew for sure, was that people in love, had sex and that Sasuke loved him.
Calming his raging nerves, Naruto stepped forward and pressed his lips to Sasuke’s. He felt first a tremor of shock and surprise from the raven haired teen, then the opening of the mouth that his lips were pressing against.
Sasuke loved him and he had nothing to contribute to their relationship other than fear.
Fear of doctors, of being touched and hurt.
Sasuke deserved more than he could offer him.
Tilting his head to the side and feeling Sasuke take control of the kiss, Naruto forced himself not to shudder as the hands on his back progressively got lower. He breathed heavily as the kiss was broken and the Uchiha cupped the side of his face, running a thumb over his kiss-swollen lips.
"Are you sure you’re ok with this?"
Nodding, unsure of his voice at the moment, Naruto saw the pale face break out in a smile and the hand dropped to grab hold of his own. Sasuke still was a healthy teenager with a teenager’s libido, but he knew Sasuke would wait if he was uncomfortable.
But now, Naruto did not want to make him wait any longer than he already had. All he had to do was to put up a smiling front to let him think that he was enjoying himself and Sasuke would be happy. Then he could leave when it was all over like he had planned when coming into the village to fight the Akatsuki.
He would go to a small town in the middle of nowhere and live amongst people that did not know he contained the demon that had killed countless people. That there were people conniving to use him to gain their own glory. That there was still all the vagrants that had abandoned their village and in turn were abandoned by the Sound after it fell, that would know about him and the demon and the conniving people that wanted to use him. They might try to turn him into the next Orochimaru or the few remaining Akatsuki. He was a liability to Konoha. He had to leave but before he did, he was going to give Sasuke what he wanted.
The raven haired teen led him down a rice paper walled hallway, then slid a door to the side revealing a large bedroom with a modern bed in the center of it.
Naruto shivered slightly at the sight, but forced a smile when Sasuke looked back at him.
Slowly he was led to the bed where Sasuke turned to him and pressed his lips to his again. He kissed him so completely that Naruto almost did not notice the hands slipping down his sides to grab his shirt. Flinching as it was pulled up, Naruto pressed himself against Sasuke to hide it.
He broke the kiss to get the shirt over his head, then dove right back in. Naruto let himself be pushed gently so he sat on the bed and kept his eyes closed as hands ran down his chest and the lips on his removed themselves.
"Are you sure you’re ready for this?"
Sasuke’s fingers were waiting hesitantly at the hem of his pants and Naruto nodded, blond hair swaying in the dim light of the curtained room.
"Open your eyes, Naruto."
Doing as he was told, he saw the pale face hovering above his. The black hair fell forward to frame the questioning look and he nodded again as he looked into the dark eyes that seemed to see through him.
Somewhere inside him, he did want it. He could feel the desire forming low in his stomach but it was over-shadowed by his fears. There was also a hint of the want and need echoing from somewhere else and that second echo was the only thing keeping him in place.
Naruto’s eyes opened wide when he found the origin of the echo and realized that he wasn’t the only one that was feeling desire for Sasuke inside of him.
Kyuubi was emitting want for Sasuke, but also desire. Not to rape and hurt, but to hold and love and lay beside him when it was all over. His own desire was even being pulled out of its fear bound location by the intensity of the fox’s.
Letting himself fall into the recesses of his mind that held the demon, Naruto made a silent plea for help in blocking the fear that was gathering and threatening to drown him. Kyuubi wanted this as well and would help him achieve it for his own reasons. Whatever they were. Surely they were not good and wholesome but then he did not want to explain to Sasuke that the bone-chilling fear of what he was about to do making it nearly impossible to achieve an erection. At least if the fox helped him block the fear then he could get it up and Sasuke would not be suspicious of his motives.
The feather-light sensation of the demon’s chakra running up his spine made him shudder and the lump of fear that had settled in his stomach, shifted and turned into a tightening sensation that ached for release. Both sensations let Naruto know that the fox was helping him.
Kyuubi agreed that impotence was a rather testy topic to bring up right before sex.
Opening his eyes to see that Sasuke had stopped what he was doing and was watching him, he leaned forward and captured his lips in a kiss. He mimicked everything that Sasuke usually did to him, running his tongue along the roof of his mouth and battling his tongue for dominance. The blond was encouraged by the support of the fox that was keeping his fears at bay.
Naruto heard the raven haired teen over him moan into the kiss and the blond reached up to rub the swiftly forming bulge in the Uchiha’s pants, egging Sasuke on.
Sasuke propped himself up on one elbow so he could continue to kiss Naruto as he let his other hand venture down to the blonde’s pants. Swiftly undoing the clasp and tugging to get them off the tan hips. There was a shudder and a flinch but Naruto lifted his hips to help him and the blond applied himself more to the kiss, getting him to moan again from his administrations. Before pulling back to look questionably at Naruto. Opening his mouth to ask again if he was alright with this, Naruto attacked, not wanting to have to answer.
Coving his mouth with his own and burying his hands in to the raven hair. Effectively cutting off Sasuke who had to bring his free hand down to brace himself as Naruto shifted with the kiss and unbalanced him. Sasuke felt the dobe’s hands move up from his crotch to his pant’s buckle and the Uchiha wiggled to help remove them.
This was more than he had thought they would get to. A lot more. He had thought, hoped, that they could make out for a bit then grab some dinner, but he wasn’t going to argue with this turn of events.
Freed from his pants that took his under shorts with them, Naruto’s hand untangled itself from his dark hair and drifted down to wrap around the hardening shaft and brushed a few strokes.
Moaning heartily into the mouth pressed against his, Sasuke pulled away from Naruto and the blond panted for a moment before speaking.
“You have any lube?”
Sasukes breath caught in his throat and he had to snort to clear it.
“What?”
“Lube, so you can put it in me easier.”
That was a ton more then he had hoped. He was thinking a hand job, or perhaps a blow job if Naruto was really as comfortable with this as he was saying he was. He wasn’t against having sex with him, it was just a big, huge, jump for Naruto and it made him wonder why Naruto was moving so damn fast.
“Why, I though we would just, I don’t know, fool around for a bit.”
Naruto looked away and shifted so that he was not under the Uchiha anymore.
“If you don’t want to with me I understand.”
It was the unsaid words that made Sasuke stop. The fact there could of been a ‘because of every thing’ right after the “with me”.
Sighing, not sure of what to do. He wanted to have sex with Naruto, but he did not want to push him, or be pushed by him.
“Are you sure you want to go that far? We could wait.”
Naruto nodded then looked at him and said yes. Without a flinch or shutter or any other tell tail sign he was really scarred and just covering.
Getting up and going to the bathroom, grabbing the jar of vaseline he kept in the medicine cabinet behind the mirror, he returned to the blond on the bed. Naruto had removed his boxers in his absence and sat nude on the edge of the bed, watching him as he twisted the lid off and dipped a finger into the gelatinous mass.
Sasuke watched as the blond, there was something off about him, but he still opened his legs a fraction, showing his soft penis.
The Uchiha sighed and wiped his finger on the lip of the jar to clean it off.
"Don’t force yourself Naruto, if you don’t want to do this I won’t make you."
"I want to."
The voice was soft and distant, but Naruto was looking right at him.
"I want to do this with you."
Eyeing him thoroughly and feeling the influence of an achingly hard shaft between his legs, Sasuke pulled off his shirt and stood in front of Naruto.
"You’re sure you want to do this?"
"Yes."
“I’m still going to stop if I think your scarred.”
A confussed look crossed Narutos whiskered face.
“I’m not going to hurt you, but I’m don’t want to push you more then your ready for and this is going a bit fast. So I’ll stop if you start to get scarred and I wont think any less of you if you tell me to stop halfway through either. Ok?”
Naruto watched Sasuke pale face as he spoke, the sincerity playing off the dim light and he nodded when the speech was over. Sasuke would never hurt him, never push him to do something he didn’t want to do, but he was going to push Sasuke.
“Ok.”
Kneeling down, Sasuke kissed him again but drifted to Naruto’s neck before the kiss could deepen again. He started lapping at the tan flesh until he met the collar bone then started nipping to start a hickey. He felt Naruto tense for a moment and Sasuke started to gently rub his blonde’s bare hips until Naruto relaxed. He continued down, licking the pert nipples then tracing the solid abs with his tongue, Sasuke felt the coarse blond hair brush against his skin as he neared his goal and he looked up to the half-lidded blue eyes.
"Are you still ok with this?"
The blonde’s breath hitched and Naruto let out a shuddering y-yes. He let himself fall back as Sasuke pushed his legs apart and situated himself between them. The soft strands of his black hair ghosted across his thighs as Sasuke took him into his mouth.
Naruto’s chest was heaving with gasps and he wiggled as Sasuke licked his shaft’s underside then started to suck on the slowly hardening tip.
Naruto was lost, stuck somewhere in between his fears and the arousal Kyuubi was giving him as well as his own body’s reactions. There was still that little voice saying run, but it was contending with the voice screaming "Yeah baby, oooh more."
He arched when Sasuke brought him to full hardness and flicked his tongue at the very tip. Naruto stilled as he felt a slicked finger slide under his hips to graze his entrance. Squelching the sudden onslaught of fear and feeling the fox wrangle the rest of it, Naruto only whimpered as Sasuke pressed it into him.
The raven haired teen was still bobbing his head as he worked Naruto’s length then the finger curled inside the blond and was joined by a second. Naruto kept his head back so Sasuke could not see the tears that had managed to escape both his and the demon’s defenses to drip down his cheeks.
Nor could he stop the moan that he let loose when Sasuke took him deep and swallowed. Noticing only afterwards that Sasuke had added a third finger, Naruto shifted to better accommodate him.
Groaning, he felt the fingers start to move in and out in time with Sasuke’s mouth.
He was getting close, he could feel the zings dancing up his spine and the pressure that seemed to be sitting at the base of his cock started to shift down and out. Never before had he been brought so close while having it feel so good. Before, – they– only got him off as a way to shame him, – but Sasuke, Sasuke made it feel good. Wonderful even.
He groaned in disappointment as Sasuke pulled away, sending the gathering pressure back to the base of his cock. He opened his eyes to glare as the Uchiha removed his fingers and lifted his legs so they rested across Sasuke’s pale elbows when he leaned over him. The Uchiha slowly brought his own knees up so they were on the bed, one on each side of Naruto’s hips and lifted the other teen’s pelvis so his aching shaft was pointed at the stretched entrance.
"Are you sure?"
He grabbed a fistful of black hair and dragged the head down to kiss Sasuke, then pulled the head back up so he could talk.
"Yes."
Sasuke smirked down at him then aligned himself and pressed in, Naruto grunted in pain and leaned heavily on Kyuubi’s support to keep from panicking as he waited for it to die down. Sasuke had stopped moving once inside and released Naruto’s knees, slipping his hands under the blond to support his back as he adjusted to the intrusion.
"Still ok with this?"
Naruto groaned and shifted, eyes clenched shut but nodded in answer to Sasuke. He could feel his own flagging erection trapped against Sasuke’s stomach and his. The fear and pain was making him soften. His breath came in ragged pants as his hands clenched in the sheets to each side of him. Part of him kept waiting for it to hurt more, or for him to be told to do something, the other was cowering, to afraid to do anything and make him stop.
Kyuubi broke up his encroaching panic attack by sending a tendril of chakra up his spine that made him shiver. Warmth spread out from the inside of his stomach, encasing him in a comforting blanket, heating his skin and sending zings up his spine that made his toes curl. His body felt so hot now, each heart beat sent more pleasure down his spine to pool at the base of his erection which was raising back to life.
Unclenching his fists from the sheets to bury his hand in the raven locks, Naruto kissed Sasuke with as much fervor as he could. Even his lips felt tingly from the demon’s chakra, his skin sang when touched and the pulsing shaft embedded inside him was sending out pleasure zings from just contacting him.
Wrapping his legs around Sasuke’s waist of his own volition, Naruto moaned when the Uchiha rolled his hips. The sound encouraged the raven haired teen and Sasuke started to thrust. Slowly at first, then building up to a fevered pitch that had Naruto writhing under him. Kyuubi was blotting out everything that scared Naruto and there was nothing but the heated sensations running up his body.
Sasuke reached in between their sweaty bodies to grab Naruto’s throbbing dick and stroke it in time with his almost frantic thrusts. The blond arched and grabbed his shoulders, fingers biting the pale flesh as he moaned.
Undiluted pleasure coursing through his every fiber, Naruto’s breath sped up as the tension that had formed inside of him, started to shift and move down. Sasuke was not stopping this time, instead he was smashing his lips to his in a kiss as he came, Naruto unintentionally scratching the pale back as he followed suit moments later.
Sasuke ran his hands through the blond hair as he kissed Naruto for all he was worth. He could feel the stickiness from Naruto on his stomach but did not care as he tilted his head to the side to reach more of his blond. Pulling away to pant for air, the head rush of sleepiness from the orgasm washed over him. Shifting so that he was laying next to Naruto, Sasuke continued to run his fingers through the sunshine hair. The lull pulled him further into sleep as he watched the whiskered face so close to his, the shining blue eyes and the kiss swollen lips capturing his attention.
He wanted to stay like this forever, in the utter contentment and completion he felt, as he lay next to the one he loved more than life itself. Sasuke did not fight it as his body started to drift off, instead he embraced it, reaching out to set his head against his blonde’s shoulder and hold him like he had wanted to for so long.
The sudden jolt of cold air against his naked flesh stirred Sasuke from his slumber. Groggily, he reached out to pull Naruto closer for warmth. After blindly groping for a few moments, he opened his eyes and looked puzzled when he saw he was the only one in bed. The sheets had been pulled over him but the sodden blanket had been removed and placed in the laundry pile.
Naruto must have done that.
Looking out the window whose curtains were perpetually drawn, but always had a great gap where the two pieces of fabric were supposed to meet, he saw the dark gray rain clouds that had covered the sky and heard the drum of rain on his rooftop.
Rolling out of bed, Sasuke ducked into the bathroom, hoping to find Naruto but was greeted by an empty space. Grabbing a towel and cleaning himself up, he returned to the room and was opening the door out when he saw the half open dresser drawer. Pulling the drawer open all the way he cursed and started to pull open others.
Some of his clothes were missing, socks, underpants, warm shirts, all the things one would need for an extended camping trip. Heart pounding in his chest, Sasuke strained his ears to pick up any sounds of the dobe wandering in the house. Hearing nothing but the beating rain on the roof, he grabbed the closest pair pants– the sleep pants he had worn the night before – from the top of the laundry pile then darted out of his bedroom.
He performed a quick search of his house only to find himself alone.
Eyes wide and blood turning cold, Sasuke pulled open the door and stepped out into the freezing rain. A swiftly eroding footprint in the mud by his door, confirmed that Naruto had already left. Running out of the yard and down the street, he paid no heed to the freezing rain that pelted his shirtless chest or to the frigid puddles he sloshed through that turned his toes blue.
Running through the streets of the mostly abandoned Uchiha quarter and he could see his breaths rise out from him in clouds despite the heavy rain.
"NARUTO!"
Where was he? Why did he have to leave?
God, he wasn’t ready yet and he should have stopped with just the kissing.
"NARUTO!"
Sliding as he rounded a turn, pants soaked and shivering from the freezing rain. Sasuke saw a lone figure open the gates to the Uchiha quarter and close the door behind himself as he slipped into Konoha proper.
Racing as fast as he could, Sasuke made it to the gate and pulled it open. He put more force into it then neccessary and the old, underused gate creaked and groaned, slamming into the wall on the other side.
Looking around for the blond and Sasuke spotted him walking with his head down and a hooded sweatshirt hiding his face.
Darting towards the figure as it headed towards the front gate of Konoha he called out.
"Naruto, please stop, I pushed you too soon didn’t I? I’m sorry."
The hooded form stopped and turned to look at the soaked Uchiha who stood shirtless in the pouring rain. A lifetime ago he would have marveled at the words Sasuke had just said. The infamous Uchiha apologizing for anything was a rarity, but now it seemed trivial.
"No, Sasuke. I wanted to sleep with you."
The blue eyes peered out at him from under the hood that was pulled low to shield his face from the rain and Sasuke shivered at the defeated look that was reflected in them.
"Then why did you run away."
The blue eyes fell to look at the ground.
"Because I have to Sasuke, I just, have to."
"No. You don’t. The people of Konoha are already starting to change their attitude towards you. The others were just wary today because of a trick Kyuubi played and-- "
"STOP! I’m not leaving for anybody but myself Sasuke. I don’t know who I am anymore. Orochimaru took that away from me and I have to find it. I can’t smile and I can’t joke around with the others now. I’ve lost myself from everything that has happened, I don’t even know if I want to be a shinobi or if I’m really in love with you. But I have to leave, I know that. This place is mocking me, rubbing my face in who I was. Who I can’t just wake up and start to be again. I can’t be loud and obnoxious, and a moron and everything else I was. I’m terrified of doctors, I’m scared of being touched and I flinch at every shadow thinking it’s a sound nin out to get me. I can’t stand that Sasuke. I was never afraid of anything before. And I know you don’t like this me either. You like strong people, you always have. I’m not strong anymore, I’m barely a fragment of who I was and I don’t even know where to start to pick up the pieces, or if they’ll ever go back together right. I have to go Sasuke, I have to."
Sasuke could only watch as Naruto turned around and started to walk away, stopping after a few paces and looking back over his shoulder at the stunned and freezing Uchiha.
"The only thing I know for sure is that I don’t like myself this way, that I want to change and that you love me. But I still want to be me and not just a re-make of myself according to what others think I was like. A new real me, for better or worse. You understand, don’t you?"
The pouring rain could not smother or hide the conviction in his voice. The complete sincerity that told Sasuke he had no hope of ever convincing him otherwise. This was Naruto’s choice, he had said that he did not want to come back and Sasuke had told him that if he did come back and didn’t like it then they could leave. Though he didn’t want him to, Sasuke understood, he understood perfectly.
The last Uchiha’s voice wavered as he answered, his heart plummeting to his feet and shivering with his toes.
"Yeah, that’s why I went to Orochimaru in the first place. I wanted to become something on my own. Not just another Uchiha or someone that could use Kakashi’s chidori. I wanted to become my own individual shinobi to get away from the controlling shadows of my brother."
Naruto smiled briefly then looked forward and started to walk away.
"Then you understand why I have to go."
He did, he just did not like it. Sasuke still wanted his Naruto. The loud abrasive punk that would not back down from anything. The guy that jumped head first into any task that was offered, even if it was just hunting down a cat. The prankster, the moron, the dobe. His blond, not the shadowed form hiding his face in fear, that was walking away from him.
He was willing to do anything to see that Naruto again. A Naruto that was long gone from the sound of it. The only thing was, did Naruto want to be his old self?
Because if he did, then there might be a way.
"Naruto, if you could forget everything that happened and go back to being you again, would you do it?"
The blond was 20 feet away, standing stock-still in a large puddle at his words and Sasuke had to strain his ears to hear the answer over the wind and the rain.
"In a heart beat."
Sasuke bit his thumb and forced his shivering hands to make the seals as Naruto resumed walking away from him, fading into the gloom of the storm with every step. Slamming his hand into the puddle he was standing in, the jutsu circled out and the blond stopped walking.
Sasuke was shivering, every inch of him almost numb from the cold rain. Still, he stood up straight as the horrible chakra washed over him.
"You have a deal Kyuubi, just make sure he doesn’t remember anything that happened."
Naruto’s face, contorted into a snarling smile as he turned around with an animalistic grace that no human could ever possess.
"Then he’ll forget everything that has formed between you two."
The raven haired teen looked up through the rain, eyes fixed on Kyuubi. He wanted his Naruto back, Naruto wanted to be back, but Naruto would forget that he loved him.
Shit, there was never a easy way out.
Still as he looked at the tan face, partly hidden by the hood, did he have a choice?
Yes, it was to let Naruto continue to be miserable and in love with him. Or happy without him.
He wanted Naruto to be happy, to be content and anything else that Naruto wanted for himself. If that meant letting him go, then he would do it.
Besides he would have chance to get Naruto to fall for him without having to be tortured to realize it.
Turning his attention back to the demon that stood openly leering at him, he nodded.
"I’ll do it."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Naruto woke to a strange warmth pressed against his chest and an odd stickiness to his thighs. All he could see was a mess of black hair and it took him a few moments to puzzle out the situation.
"WHAT THE FUCK! SASUKE!!!!"
Leaping from the bed and back-pedaling until he hit the wall behind him, Naruto watched as his life-long rival, who was completely nude, looked up at him from the bed that he had been sleeping in. With him.
And he realized he hadn’t a single clue as to how or why he was there. Or where here was.
Frantically looking around at the unfamiliar surroundings and feeling a draft at his neither regions, the blond teen looked down and saw that he too, was nude.
More pieces fell into place, the nudity, the stickiness on only on his front side and Naruto’s face screwed up in shock.
"I FUCKED YOU!!!!! WHY THE HELL DID I FUCK YOU!!!!"
Pointing accusingly at the raven haired teen that was curled up on the bed, Naruto saw him wince as he started to move then stopped in the middle of uncurling.
Sasuke looked up at the wild blond and had to smile. He was yelling at him, mad at him, it must have worked. Naruto paced around the room, looking for his clothes and yelling random obscenities back at Sasuke who was still curled on the bed. Naruto gave up the search after not finding any of his own clothes and grabbed some of Sasuke’s, hastily pulling them on.
Sasuke tried to sit up, but the burning pain from his stomach stopped him cold. Kyuubi had said that it would hurt. Granted, having organs rearranged did that to a body, but he wasn’t prepared for it to hurt this much. His entire stomach felt like it was on fire and straightening out just made it flare up.
Seeing a half dressed Naruto, still yelling at him, getting ready to stalk from the room, he decided that he had better make sure that Kyuubi had kept his word.
"What do you remember, Naruto."
Naruto whipped around and glared at him.
"Why, prick, so I can tell you if you were good or not? Get someone else to build up your ego because you sucked."
He forced himself to straighten again and winced in pain as it pulled on his stomach muscles. He braced himself, then pulled a smirk onto his face.
"Yes, I did and you seemed to like it, but I was asking about the scar over your navel."
Sasuke preserved his expression and unconsciously held his breath in hope as Naruto’s jaw dropped then he sputtered out.
"I did not like it! And what scar? I don’t —have – a—"
Naruto had reached down to run his hand over his still bare chest and abs, finding the long scar from one of the many times he had been cut open.
"What the hell???"
Naruto looked perplexed, then he looked up at Sasuke with his confusion so readily readable on his whiskered face. The last Uchiha was still smirking, he liked the fact Naruto was wearing his emotions on his sleeve again, not holding everything inside. This was more like the teen he had fallen for.
"Why the hell are you looking at me like that, you arrogant self centered asshole!"
Sasuke swung his legs over the side of the bed and Naruto looked away as his genitalia came into view.
"Naruto, what do you remember from the last year. Anything, anything at all."
"Cover yourself, damn it!!"
Sasuke pulled a clump of blankets over his waist and kept his hand on his protesting stomach.
"What do you remember?"
Naruto looked suddenly uncomfortable and shifted on his feet.
"I don’t, well I do, but not enough to make any sense. Its more like I was watching parts of different television programs, but with me as the star. Only, there’s these big holes interrupting everything."
"You don’t remember getting that scar?"
"Kinda, I remember walking towards a table, then waking up and hurting, only I don’t really remember feeling it happen. It’s the same for this one and this one."
Naruto had started to trace the thin white lines on his tan torso, suddenly looking up to the pale teen on the bed.
"What happened Sasuke? I can’t- I can’t feel Kyuubi any more. I have to tell the Hokage that he got out!!"
The blond turned and grabbed the door to slide it open, but Sasuke lurched up from his bed to grab his arm.
"In the morning Naruto, come back to bed. I’ll explain everything in the morning."
Naruto shrugged the arm off like he had been burned by it and pushed Sasuke away.
"PERV!!! YOU JUST WANT TO SLEEP WITH ME!!!!"
Sasuke was already distracted by the pain in his gut and the push sent him to the floor where he curled up and groaned.
Damn fox, he said three months, only three months instead of nine, but goddamn! Three months with this kind of pain was too much.
"Hey, ahh… Sasuke. Are you alright? I didn’t hurt you when we, when I… aaah… slept with you, did I?
Hardly able to hold back his bark of laughter, Sasuke looked up into the concerned blue eyes that a moment ago held shock and anger.
"No, you didn’t hurt me. I’ll tell you everything in the morning, just come back to bed. I’m not going to touch you."
Sasuke was too busy trying to stand back up to see the unconvinced face Naruto made. He groaned when he was just about on his feet and tan hands moved to help him the rest of the way.
"Damn Sasuke! You’re freezing!"
The blond blur practically dragged him to the bed and tossed him a towel to get clean before pushing him into the bed and piling the blankets on top of him. His body was still cold from the hostile weather he had ventured out in, but the heat radiating out from his stomach was keeping him warm. Well, his torso felt warm at least, his toes were still blue and he curled them just to make sure he still could.
Naruto stood next to the bed and ran his hand through his hair as an awkward silence settled over the room and Naruto turned to leave, not sure if he should or not.
"Don’t go."
Naruto turned to look at him suspiciously, eyes squinting and hands crossed over his chest. He marveled at the difference in demeanor. Naruto’s actions and expressions had become animated again. Not just moving only when he had to, but bouncing with energy. Running through so many actions at once. Flipping his wrist, then making a fist, then pointing, his face wide-eyed one moment, scowling the next, then lighting with an ever-ready smile that had been absent for the last year.
"No touching me, got that. I like girls and whatever happened, you had better give me a damn good explanation for."
"In the morning."
Naruto slowly crawled into the opposite side of the bed and made a gesture as though he was cleaving the bed in two.
"This is my side, that is your side. Come over to my side and I beat the snot out of you. Ok?"
"Fine."
Sasuke pulled the blankets up to his chin and curled up to ease the pain in his stomach. He was tired, sex with the demon had sapped his strength; although the beast did not rip him to shreds this time, Kyuubi was just forceful in his manner. Still he ached from head to toe with the smoldering pain radiating from his mid section. But Naruto was lying next to him.
His Naruto.
The one he fell for.
The one that was fidgeting under the blankets.
"Stop moving dobe."
"Shut up jerk."
"Hnn"
Sasuke felt the bed springs depress as Naruto rolled away and he snuggled into the warmth of the blankets, falling asleep as soon as his eyes closed.
Naruto fidgeted, then rolled over, then threw his foot over the side of the bed.
How did people sleep like this. He wanted to curl up in the blankets and flop around till he found a comfortable position, but no, Sasuke bastard didn’t like that.
The sudden warmth as bare skin touched his leg had him sitting bolt upright in a flash, ready to clobber Sasuke.
Only the prick was dead asleep.
The foot moved away from his leg and Naruto settled back down. Resting his blond head on the fluffy pillow, he turned to look at the mess of black hair next to him.
He had lied, he remembered more than just what he had said. Every other memory that he had been able to pull up was of him. Of Sasuke holding him and soothing his pain and fear of things he could not remember. Of them in the woods, watching the stars, or as they fought side by side against bandits.
Lifting a hand to run through the raven hair, Naruto smiled. A true Uzumaki grin and let himself drift off into sleep, not noticing that the foot had returned to his leg.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Epilogue
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A soft wail drifted out of the room next to his and Naruto groggily opened his eyes. Sasuke was still sleeping next to him with his arm over his waist. Looking into the pale face that was so near to his the blond smirked and brushed his thumb across the pink lips, still puffy from their kiss the night before.
For some strange reason Sasuke liked to think he was the dominant one in the relationship and Naruto just had to keep pressing the prick’s limits. He never gave in or let himself be kissed and manhandled, but kissed and manhandled right back.
The sound of crying came again and Naruto grudgingly removed the pale arm draped over him, Sasuke had an irrational fear of him leaving in the middle of the night for some odd reason, and crawled out of the bed.
He yawned and stretched as he glanced at the clock on the bed side.
The blue light glared 4AM at him in return.
Groaning as the wail echoed through the house again, the blond teen left the room holding his lover to enter the room holding his son.
The tiny red haired bundle of trouble was hungry and screaming his distress from his crib and Naruto gently picked little Kyuubi up.
Only 3 days old and already having grown from the birth weight of 6 pounds to a startling 10. The babe still had that pinkish glow of a newborn but the red eyes held more knowledge than some shinobi.
Rocking the little guy in his arms as he walked to the kitchen, Naruto grabbed a bottle from the fridge and placed it in the bottle warmer that had been a gift from Sakura.
He let Kyuubi chew on his little finger as the bottle warmed.
Sasuke was the worse off of the two, having just come home from the hospital yesterday. Tsunade had performed the caesarean two weeks early at 2 and a half months because she did not think that he could continue to support the parasitic demon that was eating his chakra at a rate faster than he could replace with his own food intake.
Otherwise he was good, shocked as all hell that Kyuubi was now a human like every one else.
God, he wished had a camera the day of the first ultrasound. Everybody thought they would see some sort of fox cub or human-fox hybrid, but no, Kyuubi had too much human genetic material to become a full fledged demon. Or something like that. Shikamaru had explained it once to him already, but he didn’t understand the vast majority of it.
Running his slobbered on finger across the rosy cheek, Naruto smiled.
What was it about a baby that made women turn to mush?
Tsunade was all for an abortion, and the elders were pushing her to perform it. But once she saw that this little guy was a human, she sure changed her tone quick.
Now she goo-ed and ga-ed and shook little rattles for him like a smitten grandmother and was acting almost as bad as Iruka.
His father had insisted on buying all the baby things once he found out they were not going to just release it into the wild and let nature take its course. Which was what he wanted to do the moment he found out what Sasuke did.
Poor bastard Sasuke had to sit through so many ass-chewings for willingly copulating with the demon that it was surprising that he had any ass left to sit on.
The little timer for the bottle warmer went off and Naruto pulled the bottle out, testing the temperature on his arm before putting the nipple to Kyuubi’s lips.
Watching his son start to suck greedily on the bottle. The blond ran his fingers through the ultra fine hair that capped Kyuubi’s head.
So small a container for all the chakra that the fox controlled.
Although he would never be able to use it.
The human body Kyuubi now had could not withstand using the demonic chakra he contained.
Starting back to the infants bedroom, the little guy rejected the bottle and let out a warble of a cry.
"Ok, ok, I know what you want."
Turning into his and Sasuke’s bedroom, Kyuubi settled in his arms and his little face and chubby cheeks lit up as a tiny smile formed.
Climbing into bed, Naruto was met with a pair of tired onyx eyes and he leaned over to kiss Sasuke before setting Kyuubi down on his pale chest, carefully placing the baby high up enough so that the young one would not touch Sasuke’s still tender abdomen.
Settling down beside him, Naruto placed one hand on Kyuubi’s back and felt Sasuke’s join him to hold Kyuubi there as the child drifted back into sleep.
Sasuke slept like a log and would not roll over even if his life depended on it so he felt safe leaving Kyuubi where he was. Kissing the pale cheek, Naruto settled down beside them to fall back asleep.
Lover and son, his family, all that he ever really wanted, next to him.
The end
ok, that’s it, shows over, they all live happily ever after.
You know what, this thing was started only as a way to beat the snot out of someone that would not call the cops on me. Yeah, really. I never planed it out, it just sorta happened from chapter to chapter. Then I got off the ship and was able to think without rage clouding my judgment and saw all the things I did just to put him in pain. It was pointless and plotless, just senseless blood and gore. So I went back through and cleaned it up. I had to. It was just a bunch of bloody chapters strung together. But if I changed major things, which I did, then it would be reflected in the new chapters so I could not just fix them and post them, thats why I pulled the whole thing down.
I had to re-find the story I was trying to tell.
So here it is, the end. Of many things in fact.
This was started on my first ever navy cruise (sep04- April 05) and now I am leaving for a new command. I would like to thank everybody that reviewed. You guys kept me from throwing myself over the rails more then once.
And all the betas that has made this story as readable as it is.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Naruto woke to a strange warmth pressed against his chest and an odd stickiness to his thighs. All he could see was a mess of black hair and it took him a few moments to puzzle out the situation.
"WHAT THE FUCK! SASUKE!!!!"
Leaping from the bed and back-pedaling until he hit the wall behind him, Naruto watched as his life-long rival, who was completely nude, looked up at him from the bed that he had been sleeping in. With him.
And he realized he hadn’t a single clue as to how or why he was there. Or where here was.
Frantically looking around at the unfamiliar surroundings and feeling a draft at his neither regions, the blond teen looked down and saw that he too, was nude.
More pieces fell into place, the nudity, the stickiness on only on his front side and Naruto’s face screwed up in shock.
"I FUCKED YOU!!!!! WHY THE HELL DID I FUCK YOU!!!!"
Pointing accusingly at the raven haired teen that was curled up on the bed, Naruto saw him wince as he started to move then stopped in the middle of uncurling.
Sasuke looked up at the wild blond and had to smile. He was yelling at him, mad at him, it must have worked. Naruto paced around the room, looking for his clothes and yelling random obscenities back at Sasuke who was still curled on the bed. Naruto gave up the search after not finding any of his own clothes and grabbed some of Sasuke’s, hastily pulling them on.
Sasuke tried to sit up, but the burning pain from his stomach stopped him cold. Kyuubi had said that it would hurt. Granted, having organs rearranged did that to a body, but he wasn’t prepared for it to hurt this much. His entire stomach felt like it was on fire and straightening out just made it flare up.
Seeing a half dressed Naruto, still yelling at him, getting ready to stalk from the room, he decided that he had better make sure that Kyuubi had kept his word.
"What do you remember, Naruto."
Naruto whipped around and glared at him.
"Why, prick, so I can tell you if you were good or not? Get someone else to build up your ego because you sucked."
He forced himself to straighten again and winced in pain as it pulled on his stomach muscles. He braced himself, then pulled a smirk onto his face.
"Yes, I did and you seemed to like it, but I was asking about the scar over your navel."
Sasuke preserved his expression and unconsciously held his breath in hope as Naruto’s jaw dropped then he sputtered out.
"I did not like it! And what scar? I don’t —have – a—"
Naruto had reached down to run his hand over his still bare chest and abs, finding the long scar from one of the many times he had been cut open.
"What the hell???"
Naruto looked perplexed, then he looked up at Sasuke with his confusion so readily readable on his whiskered face. The last Uchiha was still smirking, he liked the fact Naruto was wearing his emotions on his sleeve again, not holding everything inside. This was more like the teen he had fallen for.
"Why the hell are you looking at me like that, you arrogant self centered asshole!"
Sasuke swung his legs over the side of the bed and Naruto looked away as his genitalia came into view.
"Naruto, what do you remember from the last year. Anything, anything at all."
"Cover yourself, damn it!!"
Sasuke pulled a clump of blankets over his waist and kept his hand on his protesting stomach.
"What do you remember?"
Naruto looked suddenly uncomfortable and shifted on his feet.
"I don’t, well I do, but not enough to make any sense. Its more like I was watching parts of different television programs, but with me as the star. Only, there’s these big holes interrupting everything."
"You don’t remember getting that scar?"
"Kinda, I remember walking towards a table, then waking up and hurting, only I don’t really remember feeling it happen. It’s the same for this one and this one."
Naruto had started to trace the thin white lines on his tan torso, suddenly looking up to the pale teen on the bed.
"What happened Sasuke? I can’t- I can’t feel Kyuubi any more. I have to tell the Hokage that he got out!!"
The blond turned and grabbed the door to slide it open, but Sasuke lurched up from his bed to grab his arm.
"In the morning Naruto, come back to bed. I’ll explain everything in the morning."
Naruto shrugged the arm off like he had been burned by it and pushed Sasuke away.
"PERV!!! YOU JUST WANT TO SLEEP WITH ME!!!!"
Sasuke was already distracted by the pain in his gut and the push sent him to the floor where he curled up and groaned.
Damn fox, he said three months, only three months instead of nine, but goddamn! Three months with this kind of pain was too much.
"Hey, ahh… Sasuke. Are you alright? I didn’t hurt you when we, when I… aaah… slept with you, did I?
Hardly able to hold back his bark of laughter, Sasuke looked up into the concerned blue eyes that a moment ago held shock and anger.
"No, you didn’t hurt me. I’ll tell you everything in the morning, just come back to bed. I’m not going to touch you."
Sasuke was too busy trying to stand back up to see the unconvinced face Naruto made. He groaned when he was just about on his feet and tan hands moved to help him the rest of the way.
"Damn Sasuke! You’re freezing!"
The blond blur practically dragged him to the bed and tossed him a towel to get clean before pushing him into the bed and piling the blankets on top of him. His body was still cold from the hostile weather he had ventured out in, but the heat radiating out from his stomach was keeping him warm. Well, his torso felt warm at least, his toes were still blue and he curled them just to make sure he still could.
Naruto stood next to the bed and ran his hand through his hair as an awkward silence settled over the room and Naruto turned to leave, not sure if he should or not.
"Don’t go."
Naruto turned to look at him suspiciously, eyes squinting and hands crossed over his chest. He marveled at the difference in demeanor. Naruto’s actions and expressions had become animated again. Not just moving only when he had to, but bouncing with energy. Running through so many actions at once. Flipping his wrist, then making a fist, then pointing, his face wide-eyed one moment, scowling the next, then lighting with an ever-ready smile that had been absent for the last year.
"No touching me, got that. I like girls and whatever happened, you had better give me a damn good explanation for."
"In the morning."
Naruto slowly crawled into the opposite side of the bed and made a gesture as though he was cleaving the bed in two.
"This is my side, that is your side. Come over to my side and I beat the snot out of you. Ok?"
"Fine."
Sasuke pulled the blankets up to his chin and curled up to ease the pain in his stomach. He was tired, sex with the demon had sapped his strength; although the beast did not rip him to shreds this time, Kyuubi was just forceful in his manner. Still he ached from head to toe with the smoldering pain radiating from his mid section. But Naruto was lying next to him.
His Naruto.
The one he fell for.
The one that was fidgeting under the blankets.
"Stop moving dobe."
"Shut up jerk."
"Hnn"
Sasuke felt the bed springs depress as Naruto rolled away and he snuggled into the warmth of the blankets, falling asleep as soon as his eyes closed.
Naruto fidgeted, then rolled over, then threw his foot over the side of the bed.
How did people sleep like this. He wanted to curl up in the blankets and flop around till he found a comfortable position, but no, Sasuke bastard didn’t like that.
The sudden warmth as bare skin touched his leg had him sitting bolt upright in a flash, ready to clobber Sasuke.
Only the prick was dead asleep.
The foot moved away from his leg and Naruto settled back down. Resting his blond head on the fluffy pillow, he turned to look at the mess of black hair next to him.
He had lied, he remembered more than just what he had said. Every other memory that he had been able to pull up was of him. Of Sasuke holding him and soothing his pain and fear of things he could not remember. Of them in the woods, watching the stars, or as they fought side by side against bandits.
Lifting a hand to run through the raven hair, Naruto smiled. A true Uzumaki grin and let himself drift off into sleep, not noticing that the foot had returned to his leg.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Epilogue
