Chapter 3
Nothing's Changed
Sasuke cracked his knucles menacingly as his immense chakra swirled visibly around him, creating a small yet powerful tornadoe in the middle of Sakura's apartment. Sakura and Ino clung to each other, for neither of them had ever seen Sasuke quite this angry. "M-maybe I shouldn't have told him.." Ino murmured, clinging to her friend. Sakura glared at her friend. "You THINK??" Ino returned the glare with a defensive look of her own as a small table went whizzing by the women's heads. "Hey, I didn't know he would react like that!" Sakura brushed the strands of hair that had fallen into her eyes due to the wind Sasuke was creating. "I didn't know either." she admitted. "But still, it's up to me to calm him down." She approached Sasuke, dodging the many pieces of furniture flying through the air. Gently she laid a hand on his arm and almost instantly the mini tornado dissapeared, dropping the furniture that it had carried. Ino yelped and dodged a couple of books that had decided to try and drop on top of her.
Sasuke pulled Sakura into his arms, a scowl on his handsome face. "I'm gonna kill him when I see him," he growled, and Sakura giggled. He glanced at her in surprise. "So now it's funny that I'm about to commit murder?" She smiled brightly at him. "Well, it's only Naruto after all. Naruto seems to have a talent for escaping death. I'm sure he'll be fine. Ino giggled too. "Yeah, him and Kiba have gotten into plenty of fights and yet Naruto always seems to stay alive." She shrugged. "I honestly thought that Kiba was going to kill him more often than not." Sasuke raised an eyebrow at this. "It seems like nothing's changed." "Nope." the two girls replied cheerfully. "In ten years, Konoha is still the same old Konoha."
Later that day Sasuke decided to take a stroll around the village after seeing that Sakura had gotten some rest. He didn't like that she hadn't been herself since he left, and he was determined to keep her healthy and happy now that he was finally back. It was then that he heard an all too familiar voice talking rather loudly. "Baa-chan! C'mooonnn, lemme go on this mission! I wanna go!! It's so boring sitting here doing nothing all the time! Plllleeeeaaassee?" An evil grin spread across Sasuke's face, and he crouched down and hid in the bushes to avoice being seen by Naruto and the Hokage. Tsunade gave Naruto an impatient look. "For the last time, Naruto, no. Jiraiya's already on it." "Whhaaatt? That pevy old sage won't focus on the mission..He'll get distracted as soon as he sees a girl!!" "No." "BAA-CHAAANN!!" "NO, Naruto!" "...Hmph." Naruto stuck his tounge out at her as soon as she turned her back and began to walk away. All of a sudden Sasuke struck, leaping out of the bushes and getting a good grip on Naruto's throat with one hand and lifting him up into the air. The Sharingan gleamed in his narrowed eyes. "S-Sasuke!" Naruto yelped. "You're back! Have you gone to see Sakura-cha-" He stopped midsentece when he saw the Sharingan. "Sasuke..?" "Naruto...When I left I wanted you to take care of Saku, not try and take her for yourself!" "What are you talking about-Oh." The color drained from Naruto's face when he remembered exactly what he had done to poor Sakura.
Naruto's blue eyes widened in fear. "Hehehe...C'mon now, Sasuke...I didn't mean anything...And besides you were gone and Sakura-chan was lonely...." Sasuke's grip tightened on the other mans throat. "Don't-touch-Saku." he snarled menacingly. "A-all right!" Naruto cried, trying desperately to loosen Sasuke's death grip on his throat. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Sasuke held him suspended in the air for a moment longer before releasing him and letting him drop to the ground. Naruto coughed and rubbed his throat. "Man, Sasuke....You scared me." He stood up and grinned, holding out his hand. "Welcome home, Sasuke!" Sasuke smiled slightly reached out, shaking the hand that Naruto held out. "It's good to be back."
Anothaaa chapter shall be up sooon! As soon as I can come up with some good ideas for it that is.
