Chapter 6: If He Wasn't... Maybe I Could...
“So this is your sister, Roku?” Kasumi asked staring at the nine year old girl beside him. She looked similar to Hiroku. She had violet hair that went to the mid section of her back. She was wearing a black skirt over white shorts and a white long sleeved shirt with a black line going down the middle of her sleeves vertically. The only difference was her white eyes that held a slight mischievous streak to them. She also oddly enough did not have the curse mark anywhere visible on her body. She was holding her older brother's left hand quietly as she stuffed her left hand in her pocket. They were standing in the middle of the training ground.
“Yeah.” He turned to his sister. “Say hi,” he said kindly nudging her hand a little.
“Hi, I'm Hisa Hyuga,” she said.
“I'm Kasumi Yatsuga and the grumpy girl over there is Sumiko,” Kasumi said squatting to meet her face to face.
“She looks like an ugly boy,” Hisa said with a smirk. Kasumi and Hiroku suppressed a huge laugh and simply settled for a large grin. Sumiko turned to the young Hyuga with anger and annoyance. Hisa returned her look with a smile.
“Well, we went over this already right?” Hiroku said.
“Right. Hisa stays with me at my house and we go to Sumiko's in the daytime. If it becomes to hectic we dump her on Taisuke-sensei,” Kasumi said standing up fully.
“Right,” Hiroku said. He let go of Hisa's hand. “Be good and don't give them too much trouble,” he said. Hisa nodded. “Have fun,” Hiroku said as he jumped into the trees to meet his mother at the north gate.
Hisa turned to Kasumi. “So what now?”
“Well, we go to Sumiko's house,” Kasumi said as she wrapped her arm around Sumiko's shoulders.
“Since when?” Sumiko said annoyed.
“Lead the way,” Kasumi said pushing Sumiko forward. Sumiko caught herself quickly.
“Fine, this way.”
The group stood in front of a medium sized home. It had a yellow brick interior with several wide windows. Sumiko knocked on the door several times then stepped back. The girls watched as Sumiko's mother came to the door. She was wearing all black with her chunin vest unzipped and scrolls hanging out sloppily. She had red hair that curled into a bun and green eyes.
`The resemblance is striking,” Kasumi said looking at mother and daughter.
“Hi, mom. Where are you going?” Sumiko said looking less than enthusiastic.
“Sumiko, you're inviting friends over?” she said seemingly avoiding the question. Sumiko nodded.
“So this is your group?”
“She is,” Sumiko said pointing to Kasumi.
“I'm Kasumi. Nice to meet you,” she said grinning.
“She's not,” she said pointing to Hisa.
“I'm Hisa. Soon to be the strongest ninja in Kohonagakure,” she said waving the hand that was not holding Kasumi's.
Her mother nodded. “I'm going out on a C-ranked mission and I won't be back for a week,” Sumiko's mother said staring at the three girls. She stepped away from the door. “You can go in if you want,” she said. “Your father is making lunch.”
“Okay. Don't die on me,” Sumiko said as she walked pat her mother. Kasumi and Hisa stared at each other then walked into the house. They walked in to see the room split into two parts. The living room was on the right side of the house. It had white walls and white carpeting. There was a large white sofa on the left side of the living room that could easily fit four or five people and a white armchair in the back. There was a table in front of the sofa that had a mug with a kunai emblem. There also was a t.v. on the opposite side of the couch. To the left was Sumiko and her father. There was a step up to get into the kitchen. A refrigerator, a stove, and a sink stood at the far right wall. There where wooden cabinets above the stove in sets of two. Kasumi and Hisa walked over into the kitchen to meet Sumiko's father. He had mid length brown hair and green eyes. He was wearing black pants and a white t-shirt with Kohona's symbol in the center.
“Who are they, Sumiko?” he said as he flipped the fish in the pan letting the smell fill the air.
“Kasumi is the one with the long hair, and Hisa is the one with the Byakugan,” Sumiko said.
“Oh. So where is the other one. Um.. What was his name... Roku?” he asked.
“My brother went on a mission and these two are supposed to watch me,” Hisa spoke up.
“Oh really then,” Sumiko's father said arching an eyebrow. He flipped the fish over again. “Okay then. I'll call you when lunch is ready. I guess you will be in Sumiko's room then?”
“Yeah,” Sumiko said heading up the stairs. Hisa let go of Kasumi's hand and followed her up the stairs.
“Thank you, Mr. Tezuka,” Kasumi said bowing before she followed the other girls upstairs.
“Wow, I guess I should have expected this,” Kasumi said staring at Sumiko's room. The room had white walls and carpeting like the downstairs. There was a bed right beside the door with white sheets and a red pillow. To the left of the room was her bathroom that looked like it had a toilet in the back on the left side with a sink beside it and a shower across from it.
“What?” Sumiko asked.
“Actually, I was expecting the opposite of your character. I thought it would be teddy bears, and pink pillows, and other girlish accessories,” Kasumi said.
“Don't push it,” Sumiko said clutching her left fist.
“Heh. Calm down,” Kasumi said waving her hand.

“This is pretty annoying. I have to come all the way out here now,” Hitomi said angrily not talking to anyone in particular. Hiroku sighed as he tried to catch up with his mother.
“So, what are we going back here for?” Hiroku asked.
“The sap of a few chakra-absorbing trees,” Hitomi said.
“Oh. So how are you going to form this new weapon?”
“That's. A. Secret.”
“Figures.”
Hitomi smiled at her son. “So, how about that jutsu?” Hitomi asked changing the subject.
“What about it?”
“Oh come on, Roku. You know how useful it would be. After all you are a Hyuga,” Hitomi said in a somewhat pleading tone. “You know the benefits.”
“The name of the jutsu itself is suggestive, and I'd rather be a great ninja without it.”
“Then be a great ninja without it. Think of it as a backup. A safeguard if you will. You won't even have to learn the style if you don't want to,” Hitomi said.
“It's still a crutch,” Hiroku said.
“It's a strong one though.”
“I can't argue with you there.”
“Will you at least consider it?” Hitomi asked as they took off onto a plain. Hiroku was silent. “I'll take that as a yes you'll at least consider it. I do admire you for wanting to be a great ninja without it,” Hitomi said. Hiroku grunted. He looked up at the cloudless sky.
“So this weapon, what's its name?” Hiroku asked looking back at his mother's eyes.
“Heh. That as well is classified. The project is called Project Pulse though,” Hitomi said looking ahead activating her Byakugan to see what was up ahead. She turned over to see Hiroku staring at the sky again. She grinned seeing she might get her way after all.
----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------
“So Hisa, how come you don't have a curse mark seal? I hear that branch members usually have curse seals on their foreheads,” Kasumi asked before taking another bite out of her fish. They were still in Sumiko's room. Sumiko had just let open a window to let the fish smell float outside. They had been talking for an hour or so before the fish was ready.
“You're not going to tell Roku about this are you?” Hisa asked.
“Not unless you want us to,” Kasumi said. Hisa shook her head no. Kasumi and Sumiko wordlessly understood.
“I'm not a branch member. My mother was the firstborn to an elder in the Hyuga clan so she was born a main house member. She doesn't have the seal either. Hiroku is banished from the clan and can't show his face at any events at all without serious consequences. My mother and I can attend events, but we don't live there anymore. I get to see Grandfather every now and then. He loves my visits, but he never brings up Roku at all. I heard him once say that he is a disgrace to the clan and that he hates him. He constantly admonishes Mother over it. He said...... that I was the only great thing that she gave birth to,” Hisa said leaving Sumiko and Kasumi with more than they anticipated.
“Do you hate your brother?” Sumiko asked suddenly interested in the conversation.
“At first, I thought he was trash like most Hyuga thought. I hated having the same blood coursing through my veins as him. I often blamed him for the fact that we don't live in the Hyuga household. I remember writing in a journal of what I really thought of my brother. It.......wasn't the kindest things. I hated him and wished he was dead, hoping that we would be able to go back to the Hyuga household afterwards. Then one day, sometime around a year and a half ago, he yanked me out of the house and talked to be alone. He knew that I hated him. I challenged him to a fight, and he destroyed me, even though I had the Byakugan. That made me hate him more. I had tried to fight him multiple times after that, but he would always win, and after every fight every time, he would look at me with those same hateless eyes and say “You're getting stronger.” It annoyed me more, but them over time I realized that he generally cared for me. Still I hated him. Not as much as I used to, but I still liked him away from me. That's where I am now.”
Sumiko stood up. She walked over to Hisa and sat down in front of her. Kasumi took another bite of her fish. Kasumi was an only child. She was unsure what to feel at the moment. She knew it was rather wrong that Hisa disliked her brother to the point of death, but she doesn't know what to say. She watched Sumiko ball both her hands into a fist on either side of her legs as she sat in front of the Hyuga. Sumiko's eyes widened as she opened her right hand. She struck Hisa's left cheek quickly leaving an obvious smacking sound in the room. She fell over from the force of impact. Hisa's eyes widened as she sat up. She then flinched as the pain in her cheek made itself apparent. She began to rub her left cheek closing her left eye as she tried to soothe the pain.
“What was that for?” Hisa yelled.
“How dare you say that about your brother. Especially one who does love you. It's alright when he's done something to you, but this; this is ridiculous,” Sumiko said resting her hand to her side again.
“What do you know? He has done things to me. Because of him, I'm associated as a nobody,” Hisa said raising to her feet.
“A nobody?! Don't you have the Byakugan?” Sumiko yelled standing up herself. Hisa quieted for a moment. “Can't you go visit the household anytime you wish?” Hisa remained quiet. She stared at the floor avoiding Sumiko's cold, emerald eyes. “Do you have the curse seal on your forehead? The seal that can kill with the proper technique?” Sumiko's eyes widened in realization. She grabbed the girl by her left arm and slammed her against the wall. “Do you want to know the jutsu that can cause harm by way of the curse seal. So much that it can kill,” Sumiko said pressing her weight against the smaller girl. Kasumi stood up. She was hesitant to move. She knew Sumiko had went overboard and knows from experience that she would not hesitate to kill. She checked Sumiko's arms.
`No gauntlets,' Kasumi thought. She turned toward the two girls. Hisa still refused to look Sumiko in the eye. Sumiko began to clutch her arm tighter forcing a groan from the younger girl.
“Answer me!” Sumiko yelled.
“Why are you defending that tr..” Sumiko slapped her again, never letting her finish the sentence.
“Because I have an older brother who I only have love and respect for,” Sumiko said raising her hand again. “Answer me,” she said softly.
“Why? Why should I have to explain myself to you?” Hisa said looking at her eyes. Her eyes were full of revolt. It quickly died down when she stared at Sumiko's eyes.
“Because, Roku is a great person. One who will become stronger than a lot of Hyuga, even without the Byakugan,” Sumiko said.
“Hah. That's funny coming from two girls with lawless families,” Hisa said calmly.
“Why you,” Sumiko said winding her hand again. She paused when she felt her hand not move to smack the rude girl again. Sumiko turned to see Kasumi grab her left wrist with her left hand. “Kasumi, what are you...”
“That's enough, Sumiko. Let her go. If she can't get it, there is no point in pounding it in her head,” Kasumi said. Sumiko stared at her then reluctantly let go.
“You're right.” Sumiko winded her right arm in an attempt to stretch it. “I get worked up when family member's don't get along.”
“So I see,” Kasumi said with a grin. She turned to see Hisa jump out Sumiko's window and bounce off the trees that were by her window. Kasumi and Sumiko stared at each other dumbfounded.
“You can't be serious,” Kasumi said loudly. Sumiko and Kasumi ran downstairs out the front door. Sumiko's father never heard them leave.
----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------
Hitomi watched as Hiroku's body moved with quickness through the plains. They had decided to have a brief sparing match in the plains a little over the halfway point to the Land of Birds. Hiroku appeared above her and tried to land a kick to her face. Hitomi blocked it with her right wrist inches away from her face. Hiroku placed his palm on the ground and kicked up with his left trying to hit his mother in the jaw. She did a backflip quickly, avoiding the attack. She activated her Byakugan and charged for her son. She extended two of her fingers from her right hand aiming for the chakra points at his shoulders. Her eyes widened as she felt his body disappear before her eyes, leaving only a leaf. She turned to see Hiroku attack her again with a powerful kick to her right side. She ducked then moved to the left away from Hiroku's body. She watched as he moved again, this time leaving only an afterimage.
`He's really getting good with the Body Flicker Technique,' Hitomi said smirking. `Still, he can't beat me yet.' She jumped backwards as Hiroku attempted to land a kick at her left arm. She raised her two fingers and struck his right shoulder as he landed. Hiroku immediately hit the ground and began rolling several feet. He stood up quickly pushing himself off the ground with his left hand. He was now crouched over, favoring his right shoulder. Hitomi went into the Gentle Fist stance calmly. The smirk on her face never leaving.
“That's enough for now,” she said as she deactivated her Byakugan. She stood upright and walked over to her son offering him her hand. He took it and stood up in front of her. She touched the chakra point in his arm and allowed the flow to go back in. He breathed deeply as if a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders.
“So, now what?” Hiroku asked staring at his mother.
“Now we travel for a couple more hours and then we'll call it a night,” Hitomi said.
“Okay,” Hiroku said. He began to walk away. Before he could disappear from Hitomi's grasp, she pulled him in for a hug.
“Roku, I love you,” she said. Hiroku's eyes widened from the sudden show of expression. “No matter what choice you make I want you to know that.” She let go of him. His eyes still displayed a look of shock.
“I love you too,” he said after staring at her for a moment. They turned to get their bags.
“Okay, let's really get some miles in the next couple of hours,” Hitomi said.
----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------
Kasumi watched the Hyuga sleep on a pull out mattress from her bed. Sumiko and Kasumi had found her near the Hokage Tower and dragged her to Kasumi's house. It was into the night when they got back. Hisa immediately wanted to go to bed. Kasumi took Hisa to her room where a pullout bed was below hers. Hisa fell down and shortly after went to sleep. Kasumi stared at the girl for a moment and walked to the bathroom.
`I need to unwind,' Kasumi thought as she ran the bath water.
The next few days went by in a similar fashion. All Hisa wanted to do was stay at Kasumi's house. Sumiko would instead come to Kasumi's house during the day. Hisa refused to look Sumiko in the eye the whole time she was there. When Sumiko left, all Hisa wanted to do was sleep.
----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------
“Getting this sap is harder than it looks,” Hiroku said wiping sweat from his face. They had been at it for last few days they have been in the Land of Birds. Hitomi and Hiroku each had a large, clear jar with a line near the one-fourth mark. The sap had almost reached the top for both jars. Hiroku noticed Hitomi working on a thin wire. It appeared to be very tough and durable as she has tried bending it on multiple occasions only to fail. She slapped it in her left hand and put it back into her bag.
“Yeah, it is. Sometimes it's better to do it the old fashion way, but if this takes too much longer, we're buying it,” Hitomi said looking at the two jars almost fill to the line.
“We can buy this?!” Hiroku asked.
“Of course,” Hitomi said having a look of I thought you knew that. Hiroku sighed as he turned to watch the sap rise slowly. “Looks like we can leave by tomorrow,” Hitomi said sitting by a nearby tree. She reached into her weapons pouch that was around her waist and pulled out a small red book. Hiroku moved closer to read the name of the book. “Icha Icha Paradise” was title. Hiroku's mother blushed slightly at something she had just read and closed the book quickly when she saw Hiroku was looking at her.
“You can read it when you're older, Roku,” she said still blushing.
`I wonder what's really in that book?' Hiroku thought as he turned his head. “The jars are filled,” he said turning back to his mother who was again engrossed in the small book.
“Okay. Let's pack up and go then.”
“Already?”
“Yeah, I don't want to stay here longer than I have to, and I'm sure that Hisa is getting worried about me.”
“I guess,” Hiroku said closing the jars and putting them in his bag. He stood up and turned to his mother as they prepared to go.
----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------
Hisa had finally left the room in the last two days. She knew her family would be coming to get her today or tomorrow. Sumiko had come to Kasumi's house again. They sat up in her room. Kasumi and Sumiko were playing cards in the middle of the room while Hisa was on the bed.
“Got any 4's?” Sumiko said in a bored tone.
“Gold fish.”
“It's Go fish! Say it right,” Sumiko demanded.
“It's fun seeing you react like that,” Kasumi said drawing a card. “Got any 3's?”
“Go fish,” Sumiko said pointing to the deck of cards.
“Got any 10's, Kasumi?” Kasumi's head fell as she handed the ten to Sumiko. “How about 2's?” Kasumi again handed the card to Sumiko. She sighed deeply as Sumiko began to build a lead of seven pairs to two.
“I got this one in the bag,” Sumiko said. “Any 4's?”
“Go Fish,” Kasumi said happily. Sumiko picked up a card and showed it to Kasumi. It was a 4. “You cheat,” Kasumi said as Sumiko placed the card with the one in her hand to form a set.
“Hey, I'm going to the bathroom,” Hisa said getting off the bed and walking to Kasumi's bathroom.
“Okay,” Kasumi said rearranging her hand.
----------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- “Ha, I told you I had the game in the bag,” Sumiko said. The final score was 14 pairs to 12 pairs with Sumiko the victor.
“Whatever,” Kasumi said as she collected the cards and shuffled them again. “Hisa's been in that bathroom for a while,” she said turning to the door.
“Yeah,” Sumiko said knocking on the door. “Hisa, are you in there?” she asked. Sumiko knocked again to still hear no answer. Kasumi set the deck of cards down and joined her. She turned the doorknob to see the door was locked. Kasumi walked over to her one of her clothes drawers and pulled out a key. She inserted the key and opened the door.
“You can't be serious!” Sumiko exclaimed. The window in the back of the bathroom was open. The white curtains were on the floor by the windowsill.
“She got loose,” Kasumi said looking at Sumiko.
“We have to find her,” Sumiko said. They jumped out the window and began searching.
“This is ridiculous,” Sumiko said as they ran for Hokage Tower. They were taking the rooftops trying to save time. “I can't believe she's doing this again.”
“I can. Either way, it doesn't matter; we just have to catch her.” They began to move faster on the roofs as they approached Hokage Tower. “I don't think she's going to go quietly this time,” Kasumi said.
“Yeah. It looks like that Snake Bandage Jutsu of yours might be used today,” Sumiko said as they jumped from the last roof to the entrance of the tower.
“You go to the top; I'll check the perimeter,” Sumiko said. Kasumi nodded as she ran inside the Hokage Tower. Sumiko ran around the tower trying to find the little girl.
“Hokage-sama,” Kasumi said opening the door.
“Yes, what is it Kasumi?”
“Have you seen Hisa Hyuga anywhere?” she asked.
“No, I have not. What do you need her for?” he asked.
“We're babysitting her and she ran away from us,” Kasumi explained.
“Oh. I'm sorry, but I haven't seen her,” he said. Kasumi nodded to her superior then rushed down the stairs as fast as she could. She got to the bottom of the tower and walked out. She was breathing heavy trying to catch herself.
“Kasumi, any luck?” Sumiko said running to her.
“No. What about you?” Sumiko shook her head. The two girls turned to see the object of their torture standing in front of them with a smirk.
“It took you so long to realize I was gone,” Hisa said.
“Funny, I just don't find you that important,” Sumiko said walking towards her.
“Oh?” Hisa said. She activated her Byakugan and charged at Sumiko. She extended to fingers and aimed for her shoulder. Sumiko moved to the left. Hisa turned around in a twirl to catch Sumiko off-guard and strike her in the arm. Sumiko felt her body roll on the ground as she tried to recover from the attack. Hisa smirked at the blow she landed on Sumiko. She deactivated her Byakugan and put her right hand on her hip and began to chuckle. Kasumi ran over to aid Sumiko.
“You okay?” Kasumi asked. Sumiko nodded trying to stand up.
“I don't get why Roku wouldn't want that,” Sumiko said.
“Yeah,” Kasumi said. They turned to see Hisa take off toward the roof tops in a run.
“Kasumi, go ahead. I'll catch up in a little bit,” Sumiko said.
“Okay.” Kasumi soon left the scene leaving Sumiko against the foundation of the Hokage Tower. She tried moving her arm. It was twitching slightly.
`Just what is the Gentle Fist,' she thought. She looked up. Roku should be returning today. I guess we better hurry. I'll do this the easy way.' He jumped on the roof and followed the path Kasumi and Hisa went on.
“Stop running, you little brat,” Kasumi screamed.
“No way. This is fun,” Hisa said activating her Byakugan again. Kasumi gritted her teeth and threw two kunai at her. Hisa moved to the left avoiding the kunai without looking back. She turned and stuck her tongue at Kasumi.
“That's a dead girl walking,” Kasumi said. She began to forming hand signs only to stop at the last minute. `She's Roku's sister. She's Roku's sister. She's Roku's sister,' she repeated in her head. She tried to outrun Hisa only for her to throw a kunai at Kasumi. Kasumi pulled out another kunai and blocked it. She caught the kunai and added it to her pouch. Hisa grunted slightly from the failed attempt at slowing her down. She then noticed Sumiko catching up to them. Kasumi turned around to see her. She was still holding her arm slightly trying to regain complete control.
“Sumiko, are you okay?” Kasumi asked.
“Yeah, I'm fine,” Sumiko said. Hisa sucked her teeth as she jumped off the roof and landed into the crowd of people below. Sumiko and Kasumi stopped at the roof and watched as Hisa began moving through the multitudes of people. They noticed that she was heading toward one of the training grounds. They jumped to another roof and watched as Hisa made her way to the nearest one. Kasmui and Sumiko looked at each other like they were hunters who have just found their rare prize. They jumped off the roof and casually walked over to the training ground where the disrespectful girl would be.
They walked over and saw Hisa standing in the middle of the grounds leaning on a log. She was obviously tiring. Her breaths were coming in ragged and heavy as she stood upright staring at the two elder girls.
“Looks like your chakra control is nowhere near your brother's. No wonder he throws you all over the place,” Sumiko said placing her left hand on her hip.
“Look's like I need to strike a more painful chakra point to shut you up,” Hisa said running at Sumiko activating her Byakugan. Kasumi grinned widely realizing what was about to happen. Hisa jumped in the air winding her right elbow back, ready to strike a chakra point on Sumiko's chest. Sumiko lifted her right hand slightly maneuvering her fingers every which way. Hisa's eyes widened as she felt five objects wrap around each of her limbs and neck. Sumiko lifted her left hand off her hip and wrapped Hisa's body in the wires. Hisa's body hit the ground with a thud. Her mouth opened in a silent scream. Shock riddled her face as she tried to worm out of her prison, but to no avail. She finally gave up and started crying slightly. Sumiko lifted her hands and stood her upright. The wires began to wrap around Hisa's shaking form.
“Now if I wanted to I could leave you a heap of flesh on the ground,” Sumiko said sharpening the wire around her left arm causing it to bleed slightly to prove she wasn't joking. “But, since you're Roku's little sister, I'll just drag you back.” She pulled roughly causing Hisa to hit the ground again. Her body was being dragged across the training ground. Sumiko wrapped the wires even more around Hisa's body and pulled her within arm's reach. Sumiko then hoisted Hisa over her right shoulder, and they took off to the rooftops again. It was a quiet run back to Kasumi's house. No one felt like talking. The only sounds made was Hisa's occasional sobbing and Kasumi and Sumiko's feet hitting the tiled roofs. They walked through the front door. Kasumi noticed that her parents were not home. She gave the okay for Sumiko to take Hisa upstairs. Kasumi opened the door for Kasumi to take Hisa inside. She tossed her on the bed and slowly unraveled the wires around her torso. She kept the ones on her arms and legs attached.
“To prevent you from running away, these are going to stay. If you try to do anything, I will know,” Sumiko said as she sat down next to Kasumi who had a first aid kit in her hand. She wrapped the ring of blood on her left arm in bandages and left it go. She then set the first aid kit on her dresser. She turned around and sat back on the floor next to Sumiko, who was now shuffling the cards for another game of Go Fish.
----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------
“Ha, I won!” Kasumi said as she raised her hands in the air. She had finally won a game 16 pairs to 10. Sumiko had won the last five games in a row. They have been playing for the remainder of the day. Hisa only moved from the bed to the bathroom and back again. She had given up, knowing what those binds around her limbs can do. The only noise she would make was the occasional sigh.
“Ding-dong,” the doorbell rang. Kasumi stood up and walked out the door to go and answer.
“Oh, Roku, you're back,” she said.
“Yep,” he said.
“Come in,” Kasumi said opening the door wider to let him in. Kasumi took him upstairs and led him to her room. Sumiko and Hisa looked up to see him.
“Oh, Roku you're back,” Sumiko said setting the cards that she was shuffling down on the ground. Hisa grunted slightly then sat up on the bed. “How was the trip?”
“Tiring.” He turned to his sister. “Hisa, let's.... Why is my sister tied up?” Hiroku asked pointing at the wires.
“Oh, she tried to run away from us so we tied her up,” Sumiko said.
“Oh,” Hiroku said looking somewhat annoyed. “Can you let her go?”
“Sure.” Sumiko released the wire and called it back to her gauntlet. “You can go now, Hisa,” she said.
“Not yet,” Hisa said. She pointed to Hiroku. “We're battling right here, right now.”
“Take it out back,” Kasumi said leading them to the door. All four of them walked out behind the house. It wasn't that big. It was a small area covered in grass with one tree in the left corner of the yard. The two siblings stood on opposite sides of the backyard. Kasumi and Sumiko stood in the middle by the wall.
“Ready..... Begin,” Sumiko said waving her right hand.
Hisa charged at Hiroku, Byakugan activated. Hiroku stood waiting for his sister to get close. Hisa jumped in the air and charged at Hiroku. “Take this,” she said extending to fingers. Her eyes widened when she saw Hiroku inches from her face. He sighed and shook his head. Hisa hit his torso with her fingers. Hiroku's body hit the ground with a thud. He rolled around before his body turned into a log.
“What?” Hisa exclaimed. She then looked to her left to see Hiroku's left leg kick her in the head. She barely blocked the blow with her right arm. She jumped back a couple of steps then charged at Hiroku again. She tried to throw a punch only for Hiroku to sidestep to the right.
“I'm not done yet,” she said. She turned to face Hiroku launching several attacks with her palms in a futile attempt to hit him. Hiroku sidestepped to the left as Hisa put everything she had behind one strike to the chest. Hisa's eyes widened as she felt her body fall forward. Hiroku grabbed her left arm before she fell.
“Let me go,” she demanded squirming around. She looked up at his brother's eyes.
“I'm finishing you off right now,” he said.
“We'll see,” she said as she threw her right index and middle fingers toward Hiroku's heart. Hiroku moved away quickly using the Body Flicker. Hisa prepared herself and dropped into the Gentle Fist stance, waiting for her brother to strike. She turned to her right to see Hiroku's right foot aim for her face. She blocked the incoming strike by crossing both of her arms. She spread them and aimed for a chakra point only for her to hit a leaf.
“Leaf Body Flicker,” Sumiko said.
Hisa stood still waiting for the next strike. She turned behind her and blocked the punch coming for her stomach. Hiroku disappeared again. He reappeared a few seconds later with a kick to the left side again. Hisa jumped backwards and watched as Hiroku moved again. She barely had time to regain her composure before Hiroku attack her from above with a left kick aimed for her shoulder. She sidestepped and aimed for his rib cage only for him to disappear in a gust of wind.
“Wind Body Flicker,” Kasumi said.
Hisa turned to see Hiroku appear in front of her almost immediately. He landed a kick in her chest that sent her flying backwards. She backflipped to regain her balance only for Hiroku to kick her ribs from behind. She went crashing into the ground. Hiroku appeared where she landed and kicked her up in the air. He flickered away and appeared in front of her in the air. He punched her in the stomach and flickered back to the ground to kick her in the ribs again when she was about to collide with the ground. Hisa was clutching her ribs coughing up blood as her brother hit her in the back again sending her in the air.
`Every spot I land, he appears faster every time,' she realized.
“This is it!” Hiroku yelled. He kicked her one last time in the right arm, sending her flying to the ground.
“Body Flicker: Raging Dance,” Hiroku said calling out the attack's name. Sumiko and Kasumi watched Hisa fall to the ground and tumble in a heap of blood. Their eyes turned back to Hiroku as he landed on the ground.
“Where'd you learn that technique, Roku?” Sumiko asked.
“When I was training with my mother in the Land of Birds,” Hiroku said walking to his sister. Her body was shaking visibly. He bent over to see Hisa's eyes filled with anger. She was breathing heavily, still clutching her ribs.
“Well you are getting stronger. I wasn't intending on using that technique on you.” He sighed loudly. “It was probably overkill though.” He began applying chakra to her bruised ribs. She grunted slightly as she felt the chakra reduce the pain quickly. Hiroku picked her up and put her in a piggy-back position. He then walked over to his team.
“Well, it looks like she's done,” Hiroku said noticing sleep taking over his sister.
“Yeah,” Kasumi said.
“She wasn't too much trouble, was she?”
“No. She was on her way though,” Sumiko said scratching her head. She looked up at the sunset.
“It's getting late. I'm going home,” Hiroku said.
“Yeah, same here. I'm tired of beating Kasumi in Go Fish,” Sumiko said heading for the front yard.
“Hey, I won.”
“Once,” Sumiko countered. Hiroku chuckled a little. They continued walking toward the front door.
“I believe we go in the same direction, Roku,” Sumiko said pointing east.
“Yeah. Bye, Kasumi,” Hiroku said.
“Bye, Roku. Bye, Sumiko,” Kasumi said walking to her door. The two shinobi left her premises.
“Roku, why don't you want the Byakugan? It seems useful.”
“It is. I just don't want the Hyuga clan eyeing me even more. They already dislike me enough. It's evident in this one here,” Hiroku said tossing his head toward his sister. “Yep, the only Hyuga who don't seem to have a problem with me is future heiress, Hinata-chan and my mother. Then again, Hinata doesn't have a problem with anybody really. However, she's always blushing around that Naruto kid. Wonder what she sees in him?”
“Naruto? You mean the kid that everyone avoids and calls names? The kid who's in the store every now and then sneaking peeks at porn? You mean the kid who's playing pranks all the time?” Sumiko asked. “I don't see why people pick on him; they don't really know him, but that doesn't really matter.”
“Hinata has some weird taste,” Hiroku said.
“Sorry, but I have no idea who Hinata is or what she looks like,” Sumiko said shaking her head.
“Oh,” Hiroku said calmly.
“Roku, a while ago when you gave that kid the rest of your money, did you do it out of pity?” Hiroku was quiet for a minute.
“No. I was really serious about getting back at my mother for waking me up an hour and a half early. That really pissed me off.” Sumiko slapped her forehead and shook her head at Hiroku's remark.
“That's good to here. Hiroku, you really are a good person. I don't see how people hate you.” Hiroku's eyes widened. He turned to look at her sincere face.
“Thanks, but did you just call me `Hiroku'?” Sumiko nodded. “I'll let it go this time. Seriously though, thanks,” Hiroku said. They continued their walk in silence.
“It looks like this is where we part ways, Roku,” Sumiko said.
“Okay. Bye.”
“Bye.” The two went in their separate directions. Hiroku began to think deeply about Hitomi's proposition.

A/N: Well that's the end of the sixth chapter. I finally got it done despite being swamped by schoolwork. This chapter was only supposed to be around 4,000 words instead it clocked over 6,000. Hisa's original character was supposed to be a snob that disliked her brother and looked down on him, as well as having the Hyoton and the Byakugan. She was supposed to be older than him and they were supposed to be twins. She was in the Hyuga clan while he wasn't. A lot of things changed and when the chapter started she was supposed to be this hyperactive child that was playful. Instead, I went back to her original character and changed her uprising. Either way, Hisa turned out different then I planned. I also used his chapter to explain Hiroku's standing with the Hyuga which of course is not positive. Why I added Hinata and Naruto in there was simply to give Sumiko and Hiroku something to talk about. Also, I am considering doing a side-story to this one about what was in Hisa's Journal. Let me know if you guys want me to or not. If I do, it will probably be out around chapter 7 or 8. Next chapter, the chunin exams finally start and Hiroku's new weapon is revealed. It is probably going to show the entire preliminary rounds, so expect a long chapter similar to chapter 5. Also, I have went back and corrected little mistakes such as when others talk to Hiroku and call him `Hiroku' instead of `Roku', a few spelling errors, punctuation marks, and English jutsu names. Gunshot jutsu has been changed to Liquid Bullet Jutsu and Drilling Air Bullet has been changed to Air Bullet to keep up with the dub version. Lastly, Sumiko's birthday is March 29, this Thursday. Well, I think I got everything. Let me know what you think. Until next chapter.
