Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Deidara's Story ❯ Change ( Chapter 3 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Deidara began regaining consciousness with a weird feeling on his forehead, it felt oddly cool, wondering what was causing this weird feeling, he tried to open his eyes, yet it was as if all of the energy in his body had been drained out. Even though he wasn't able to open his eyes, the sunlight still filtered in.
“So bright…” he thought to himself, oddly he heard voices near him, straining himself to hear, he managed to catch a few brief words. Furrowing his brows in confusion he tried to piece together the words he managed to catch. The words were teme, dobe, and ramen. He repeated the words over and over in his head, realizing that no matter how many times he would replay those words it would never make sense.
Mustering up his energy he opened his eyes, lifting up his hand and placing it on his forehead he felt a cool, wet rag laying on it. Sitting up he stared forward into the eyes of four others. Suddenly the memories of the past night flooded back to him, it was like a daytime nightmare, and tears began to stream down his face.
He felt a warm hand on his shoulder, turning his head to the side he met up with a pair of jade eyes; the girl had her hand on his shoulder, looking at him as if trying to offer comfort. The girl had pink hair, and looked to be no older than him.
“Wait, pink hair…,” he pondered this for a moment “Is that even possible?” the thought crossed his mind. Looking back forward about five feet away from him was a midget with spiky blond hair, standing next to him was a boy with midnight black eyes and scowl that was disturbing Deidara greatly. Finally behind the two crouching boys was a man with silver hair, he had a lazy expression on, and in his hands was a small book that he seemed greatly engrossed in.
Thinking of his Mom he again chocked back more uncontrollable sobs. The blond looked confused as to why this kid was crying. “Shoot, we better not have found a crybaby!” he thought. The last thing he wanted to do was listen to crying for the next few days of his life.
The tension began to build, it would seem that they were afraid to say something. The silver haired man put his book away and started over to the boy. Frightened by the fact that he was being approached by someone he had never met before, without thinking he tried to push himself back. The man tilted his head in confusion. He was not here to hurt the boy if that was what he was thinking, he only wanted to know what happened.
Crouching down by the boy and motioning for everyone to leave for a while till he called them back, the man broke the silence.
“My name is Hatake, Kakashi.” Kakashi said, continuing on “I'm the squad leader for the other kids you saw, we are from Konoha, and we found you unconscious.” Konoha sounded vaguely familiar to Deidara.
“M-my n-name is D-Deidara, un.” He said sobbing. “I'm from Iwa, un.”
“Oh, your from Iwa, that's actually where our group is setting off to today.” Kakashi replied monotone of course. Kakashi noticed a slight change in the boy the instant after he replied. Out of no where the boy jumped up and began screaming.
“NO YOU CAN'T GO THERE!” the boy screamed tears pouring down his cheeks.
Slightly perplexed Kakashi motioned for the boy to sit down. Complying, Deidara sat down, obviously distressed.
“What happened?” Deidara knew that there was no way he could lie, so he spent the next fifteen minutes explaining in full detail what had happened last night. After he got through the story, the Kakashi stood there for once he was shocked, Iwa had been destroyed. Then he tried to understand why someone would go through the trouble of destroying an entire village for one boy. Eyeing the boy suspiciously, Kakashi decided to ask another thing.
“Can you describe the man that tried to kidnap you?”
Thinking back too Deidara it all seemed vague, but he remembered one thing, “I only know one thing, he reminded me of a snake, un” the boy said his eyes full of fear.
“Oh, shit.” That was not the reply that Deidara was expecting, in fact the shocked reaction to his description of the man scared Deidara even more. “Orochimaru.” Kakashi thought. This was bad.
Going through a list of reasons why Orochimaru would want this boy, only one made sense. A bloodline limit. “Kid,” Kakashi said worry clearly evident in his voice “Do you posses any bloodline limits?”
Deidara looked down at his hands he had done a pretty good job of keeping them hidden, he didn't want these people to hate him too. Kakashi obviously took notice of this sudden movement of his eyes to his hands. Before the boy could protest, Kakashi grabbed the boy's hands and turned them over to reveal to mouths on the palms of the boys hands. So this was why he was hiding his hands he thought.
Pulling away from the man grasp, Deidara whimpered and stood up, still crouching Kakashi looked up at him, he knew what that boy was about to do, but before Kakashi could react the boy had tossed something in the air, made a few hand signs and out of no where a giant clay bird appeared, the boy swiftly ran and jumped on it. The bird began to take off rising above the forest.
Deidara didn't know what took over him, but he just wanted everyone to leave him alone, Looking down he could tell that Kakashi and his squad were following him. Yelling something about him being in danger. Yes Deidara knew that, but he didn't need anyone's help, he would no longer accept anyone's help. From now on Deidara was a new person, he had changed. “A change for the better.” He thought.
R&R please. NOTE: Yes I know that in the manga Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke don't graduate the academy till their twelve or thirteen, but in my story let's just say they are very gifted and graduated a few years early. XD Also The chapters from now on will be longer
